Recommend, but ONLY Karen. She is in this location Wed and Friday only. I am insane about my eyebrows. I do not use brow kits so I need them to look good on their own. I cannot stand a person who Ronald McDonalds (rounded arches) my brows. Karen will take her time, she WILL LISTEN. She says "you come to me once a week, so that's all I see your eyebrows; but you look at them every day, so you know them best". Have her look, ask her, show her what you want and she will be helpful and honest. She will do and let you look and then continue. I have sat there holding the mirror in my lap, ask her to let me look and she does as I check (I get nervous in general, what can I say)and then continues. When she is finished, she will stand as you examine and adjust or discuss doing more, going thinner, what you need to grow out if anything, etc. She will not take your brows into ugliness! I asked once about going thinner, we agreed and she did, I asked again standing there (Bc as any eyebrow person knows, sometimes when you look at your eyebrows too long, you start seeing crazy) and she actually said "I personally will not do them thinner. If you would like you may, but it won't be me to do that. She had good opinions and she won't just F you up even if you say "make me look awful", because this is her work going out the door! I have been going to her for 2 years, after someone Ronald McDonalded me! Price goes up frequently, I think (3x in 2 years about), but I'll be honest I would pay for good brows. I usually get my eyebrows waxed, but my sister had been getting her's threaded and they looked great, so I figured I'd try it again. Compared to my first experience, at the mall, this was pleasant and quick. It felt way better than wax strips, although I did notice a few stray hairs at the end. The salon offers threading for the whole face, bridal makeup (even bridal henna!) and is very clean. The place is well decorated, and simple. It's boutique without being overwhelming, and prices seem very reasonable. For $10, threading is a little more expensive than I expected, but considering Femina seems to know what she's doing, can't complain too much. She was also understanding when we didn't have cash for a tip, but we will make sure to bring cash next time! Love that there's a place like this in the neighborhood. read more

Grew up in this neighborhood and went back to visit family. Heard about a threading place in the village and was so excited. 3 stars for the rushed service. There was no one else waiting nor in the salon for my eyebrow threading and lip wax to be so rushed! Not only was I left with wax all over my lip and nose, but there were so many little hairs left. My eyebrow threading was quick as well, where I was left with little hairs that had to be tweezed at home. If I'm paying close to $20 for a service (which is definitely overpriced) then I expect a little more care. Definitely not returning. If this was the service I got as the only customer in store, I can't imagine if it were to be busy. read more

This place used to be good on tuesdays and thursdays. Made the mistake of going on other days of the week the last two times, both times I got my brows overdone over plucked and UNEVEN as hell. The first bad experience, one brow where I have a tiny scar so hair is sparse was over plucked at the beginning (where the scar is) leaving all this negative space between my two brows. The very last time I came in it was very busy, I came in because it's the closest eyebrow place. Two ladies were there taking the customers before christmas eve on a friday. One could not figure out the register and I think she was new. I was her client. After 3 MONTHS of growing out my brows for a natural arch, I had showed her a picture of what I wanted to achieve (pic of emmy rossum with natural arched brows, straight for the most part). Mind you I barely plucked them over weeks, there was a lot of hair on my face to work with and it was growing in nicely the way I wanted. But I needed a clean up of the shape to remove all the strays hairs. All it took was one visit here to RUIN all that! I was very patient despite the language barrier and the lady next to her talking her through it( it wasn't in english). Not only did she do the opposite of what I asked, she had a chance to say she couldn't do it and pass me off to the other person. I even asked her if she understood me, and if I could see the other threader instead. But they reassured me, and it is what they do after all. When she put the mirror to my face I was shocked! She gave me crazy arches that were uneven, one side starting before my pupil. Which is technically wrong, and not what I wanted anyway! I never have refused to pay a service IN MY LIFE, even times I got really horrible hair cuts. But I had to pass paying 10 for this travesty I will have on my face now for months. DO NOT GO HERE! If you want GOOD brows see Mira at roosevelt field mall. She knows how to listen and walk you through it and achieve what you want. Sadly I chose the closest place this time, Mira is worth the 25 min drive to the mall. read more

Ridiculously over priced . 20 bucks for threading of upper lip and eyebrows ? Seriously if I was satisfied or impressed I would accept the price . Came home looked in my lighted mirror and saw a very poorly done job . Had to tweeze my eyebrows again and had to go to another place and have my lip threaded the next day !! So I've been coming here since 2014 and I used to pay 8.00 for eyebrows and was also able to add the tip to my card. Since then the eyebrows have gone up to 10.00 and I am no longer allowed to add the tip to my card I sucked it up and kept going because I really do like my girl. I went today to do my eyebrows because I only go on Tuesdays and Thursdays noticed that their prices are going up YET AGAIN ! Starting February their prices will be 12.00 for eyebrows. Now when I go do my eyebrows I also take my daughter, I refuse to pay almost 30.00 when it's all said and done including tip. I'm sorry but I can get my eyebrows done in Queens for 12/ month. I'll will go back one more time before they raise their price again. read more

I get a monthly waxing here for my eyebrows and face which totals to 22.00 ALWAYS. I never had a problem paying the 22.00 and always expressed that with my tip at the end of the service. The woman doing the service was always quick and professional and I was always satisfied. Yesterday was different. She had done the service and then rang me up for 29.00-- I wouldn't have minded the difference if I knew there had been a price change, but I wasn't made aware of it. I paid that, not happily, but I did, and then I went to leave a credit card tip like I normally do but she informed me there's no CC tipping anymore. Since when? I apologized and told her I don't have cash on me, which is the truth, and that I'd come back and pay her when I got the chance. I was confused as to why all of a sudden she wasn't accepting tips. I work in the industry and I know if a client says to me that they will leave me a tip next time or come back later they may not mean it, but I am not rude to them after. She got so nasty after that that it made me never want to go back there again. I thanked her and she didn't even respond. Won't waste my time with this place anymore. I'll find somewhere with better prices and service. You don't jip your customers without explaining a price change to them. read more
