We are enjoying our new kitchen so much. The entire process from start to finish with Sub Zero West was Excellent

This place was fun-- hosted a Yelp event and had a good time! Not sure if the dress code changes with the event, but we definitely missed the business casual line and were a bit underdressed (but still with fly kicks). We did a taste of Orange County here and got to try several local restaurants and wineries! Paradise Dynasty, Bouillon, Atomic Ice Cream and Sign of our Lives were a few of the too companies we tried. All were tasty for sure !

As someone who works for an authorized dealer for Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove (plus ASKO), among other brands, it is often difficult to offer all of the product from the various brands' catalog to display in our showroom as we need to section off space to various brands that we have relations with. Furthermore, its even more difficult to show an assortment of product in a live environment due to lack of gas hook ups and limited circuits on the power breaker boxes. With that said, manufacture showrooms like the Sub-Zero showroom is a blessing to someone who has a customer that wants to see, touch, and feel a huge assortment of product from a specific brand. The Sub-Zero showroom offers a knowledgeable team and close to 95% representation of the product the brand offers. Also, the showroom does not sell directly to prospective customers, so they offer a no-pressure environment for customers to browse, ask questions, and get extremely useful insight in their kitchen renovation planning. Now onto the actual review. Last Saturday, I had a client that visited the showroom. I had gone through great lengths to set an appointment for them the day before. Unfortunately some miscommunication occurred and ultimately, the showroom did not have the available human resources available to really give them the level of attention they deserve. This was disappointing on multiple levels for my client as they had gotten a baby-sitter for their children so that both they and their husband could visit the showroom to hopefully narrow down their decision making. When they informed me of their experience, I immediately reached out to Tracy B of Sub-Zero. She listened to my concerns and frustrations. She took the constructive criticism back to her team at the Sub-Zero showroom and came back to me with options to offer the clients in an attempt to make amends for the poor first impression. Ultimately, my client was willing to make a second appointment with the showroom for Wednesday the 23rd (Yesterday). Tracy B graciously set up the appointment so that she would personally be there to assist them. Mind you, that is not her role within the company. Her role is actually to cultivate relationships with people in the trade such as designers and builders. She is, extremely knowledgeable and qualified to provide a prospective customer an outstanding experience at the Sub-Zero showroom. 30 minutes before the appointment time, Murphy and his silly law went into effect. My client had a flat tire, there was no way she would be able to attend. Her husband would though, as the showroom was on his way home from work. I let Tracy B know the situation and she suggested that it might be best to offer the client a reschedule so that they could attend with her husband, together. In the end, the client's husband attended the appointment. Which worked out great as they thought outside of the box and utilized FACETIME to have the client involved in the equation. Tracy B and the showroom team answered all of the client and her husband's questions and represented the brand in the way that one would expect a luxury brand to be represented. While yes, there were some initial setbacks for my client, I feel the way that Sub-Zero handled the situation was redeeming of the customer's positive experience. I know that I am very fortunate to have their showroom so close to the store I work out of as a resource to leverage to help my customers in their prospective dream kitchen building. 10/10 I would encourage anyone looking to invest in their kitchen remodel to visit the showroom to ensure they do not miss out on some great options for their dream kitchen. Thank you once again Tracy B and the Sub-Zero showroom team.

What an amazing showroom! They have every single product they sell on display and in so many great variety of installation types. There are so many great inspiration ideas

I have a trusted knife sharpener, but wanted to give Chef's Toys Knife Sharpening services a try…read morebecause it's close to my work. Bad decision on my part. When I got back my "sharpened" knives, one of them had nicks and burrs. I don't know if you can see in the photos. The bottom part of the blade feels chewed up and rough. I had two other knives sharpened and they're not as sharp as when I've had them done with people who know what they're doing. I will only go back to see ask if they can fix the one with the nicks. After that, never again. I'm actually scared to have them touch my knife again, but it's want them to be aware of the lack of quality. If you care about your knives, call ALL SHARPENED UP (Orange County) or GARY'S KNIVES (South Bay and West Side) instead.

Our head chef/instructor Anthony brought great energy and charisma to the class. You could really tell he's passionate about what he does and enjoys it, which spread to the rest of the class. It was a very open environment with many of the attendees having little to no culinary experience, so we were all working on a level playing field. The class is decently interactive, with a nice balance where they do a good majority of the tedious prep work beforehand and let you do the rest (as a team of 4) with all of the nicely prepared ingredients. We also did a small crash course on cutting and mixing skills, which was appreciated. The dish we made was a really nice steak with an herb compound butter, grilled veggies, a small side salad, and a nice fruit tart (galette) for dessert. The class flowed really well and the time FLEW by. It was about two hours from start to finish, and it fun the entire time. I'd recommend to eat a little something beforehand, as you eat what you prepare at the end (after 2ish hours) and the portions are split amongst 4 people so they are a bit on the petite side. Overall, this was a really enjoyable experience that I definitely plan on attending again. I recommend you find a class that suits you and check it out yourself!!

It took maybe 90 mins or so from start of class to chow time and we were ready to eat! I imagine we would have gotten hangry I we didn't, so I would recommend snacking before class!!! The instructing chef was very thorough and helpful. The food was on theme and SO good. We were surprised we could make such tasty bold flavors with simple everyday ingredients. (Our dish we Moroccan chicken night with couscous, beet salad, homemade ice cream with grilled peaches) Plenty of food to eat and even took some home. They were even so gracious to accommodate my vegan/vegetarian diet by subbing the chicken with either vegan chicken or potatoes (I chose potatoes). Flavors did not miss!! Would recommend and will be doing again...

They even have designs where you can customize your walk-in closet. I was very amazed at the large selection of various containers for closets of all shapes and sizes. A lot of the items were clearly marked, but the prices weren't always labeled or or in the correct spot. I had to bring up a few items to the front cashier to find out their actual cost. Overall, this place is good to get an idea of exactly what you are looking for in designing your home. There are staff around asking if you need help. There's also a college shop area which is great for getting items for students in their dorms. Good timing as most students are back in store. Overall layout of store was good and easily marked. Additionally, I wanted to also look into getting a better whisk, but I think I will make the wood what I have. And I knew I was gonna need a digital scale to help me through my sourdough journey now that I was gifted two sourdough starters--one from Italy and one from France (one of my clients was very giving & thoughtful). The price is range from $40-$85., whoa! Amazon has them for about $30. I will have to think about this.. Met Gonzo, yes, that's how he spelled it, a delightful & enlightened staff member who was very helpful with recommending which would be best. We could've had a whole conversation for a half a day! LoL. In the end, I decided to think about it before purchasing one (turns out later, best decision I made all day) My glass measuring cup is in storage & I find it cumbersome so I bought a lighter version (2 cup). Happy with my purchase. Hubby bought his item separately & let me roam the aisles. Highly recommend this store. Listen to this…read more.. Chef Toys wants to charge a 30% restocking fee if a product has to be opened and taken out of the box. But if they sell you an item that THEY took out of the box and have had on display, they want you to pay full price while claiming the item is still "new." We placed an order over the weekend for about $4,000 and were told it would be ready to pick up by Monday. I got there around 12, and the order wasn't ready. Not a big deal--we waited. Then we found out that one of the items included in our order was the display fridge. We told them we wanted a brand-new fridge in a box. The employee kept stating that they "just took it out of the box," but in reality, that fridge has been sitting there on display for a long time. We asked for either a boxed fridge or a refund. The employee did not hesitate to state, "I will meet you at the front and give you your refund," without even trying to offer another alternative or find a solution. There were no customer service skills from the employees or Buster, the manager. The situation escalated pretty quickly, and Buster very rudely kept telling me to stop talking instead of trying to handle the situation professionally and understand why we were upset. We have been doing business with Chef Toys for a very long time, but today they lost a customer because of Buster and the way this situation was handled. I do want to acknowledge and thank the Director of Sales. He understood the situation and very calmly tried to find a solution. Unfortunately, by that point, it was already too late. He showed the professionalism and customer service that we should have received from the beginning. He should be hired as the manager instead.
