BEWARE - Ferman Ford Mobile Unit Forced Recall on My F-350, Destroyed Emissions System -- Ford Denied Reimbursement & Ferman Refuses to Refund My $3,163.20 I scheduled a simple oil change ("The Works" ) for my 2020 Ford F-350 on April 29, 2026. Ferman Ford of Countryside sent their mobile service unit (tech Allan Petrella). They performed the factory recall programming even though I did not approve it. The same day (April 29) -- right after the forced reprogramming -- the check-engine light came on for the first time ever. My truck had zero emissions/DEF issues and was running perfectly before they touched it. I had to bring it back multiple times (May 1st- 9th). Their own repair orders admit the light came on immediately after the recall. They replaced NOx sensors, performed TSBs, then replaced the reductant injector, SCR particulate filter, sensors, gaskets, etc. Ford corporate denied the recall reimbursement (I have not yet received the letter explaining why). Yet Ferman Ford refuses to fully refund me. They applied only partial "goodwill" and made me pay $3,163.20 out of pocket ($616.73 + $546.47 + $2,000) just to get my truck back. This was either gross incompetence with the emissions recall programming or a way to stick customers with expensive diesel repairs after their mobile unit forces the work. If you own a Ford Super Duty diesel, do NOT let Ferman Ford (Countryside) -- especially their mobile unit -- perform any recall or emissions work without written approval and before/after scans. Record the service visit, if possible, I did and it shows the tech did not perform the recall appropriately as he was NEW to the company and ford. He even admitted he didn't know how many quarts of oil a diesel took which is why he had to wait for the other tech but still decided to do a recall! Ferman Ford of Countryside: You forced the recall via mobile unit claiming it was for safety, emissions are not safety you broke the emissions system the same day -- I should not have had to pay for this mistake you should refund the full $3,163.20 you made me pay for it. An reevaluate who you have for mangers and technicians. Will should have never authorized me to pay 516.74 for a second recall reprogramming or 616.73 in parts I didn't need! Camron should NOT be a manger over mobile unit and has failed to do his job when the initial call came in and continues to fail at his job after wards, he should not be in management! I will say Nick did try to submit this in to ford corporate and agreed I should not have to pay for it but hasn't refunded it either not even partially. I did however get a call from them stating I am stuck with what happened and they are waiting to see what nick wants to do. How is this even a struggle especially when I was a biweekly client since I'm over the road so much. I know me not taking my truck there they could care less over which is sad for them the unethical practices they choose to allow. But I do hope this at least helps someone else not have their vehicles destroyed and get stuck with paying for it. I purchased a vehicle from this dealership two months ago, and I am completely dissatisfied. A broken part was identified prior to the close of the sale and a promise from the dealership to fix it under the warranty that they provide. They sent my vehicle to a different dealership to have the part fixed and replaced. My vehicle was inspected by a Ford inspector. I was advised that an answer would be given in 48 hours after the inspection. I am over a month since Last being contacted by service advisors. They will not answer or return my voicemails to give me a status update nor a timeline of when the vehicle can be repaired. Bad Customer Service On January 28th, 2025, my truck was taken to Ferman Ford Collision Center for repairs after an accident. I met with Matt Murphy, Collision Estimator. I talked with Matt for over 20 minutes explaining my concerns over the body line where the bedside meets the top of the tailgate. This was not the only damage from the accident, but the part that concerned me the most. Matt assured me that the body lines would be aligned even if it meant replacing the bedside. So, I decided to leave my truck to be repaired. On February 11th, 2025, I was notified that my truck was finished and ready for pickup. I went that day to get my truck. I went directly to my truck to look at the bedside and tailgate body lines. It was obvious to me that there was nothing done to align the body lines at the tailgate and bedside which was my main concern. I met with Matt Murphy and Erik Montalvo, Collision Center Production Manager to discuss my concerns. I was not happy that I was told that these body lines would be aligned, and they were not. Matt explained to me that they felt that they did not need to be aligned because they met industry standards. After several minutes of discussing this with Matt and him just referring to industry standards I asked" When I dropped it off why was there no mention of industry standards, you told me that the body lines would be aligned even if it meant replacing the bed side, where can I find the industry standard you are referring to?" Matt rudely replied to me "I am done talking with you. You are just too picky, I am going to mark the job complete, and you need to take it as is." Wow, great customer service! We had not even finished looking at the rest of the $4,000.00 in work that was done at Ferman Ford Collision Center, and I am being told that I need to take it as is. Matt walked off and left me talking with Eric. I had asked Eric if he would move my truck out of the parking spot it was parked in so we could look at the side that was repaired. The body work done on the driver's bed side was not their best work. Please refer to the attached pictures. Picture 1 is the passenger side, which was not affected by the accident. Picture 2 was the repair done by Ferman Collision Center. I don't think that when paying $4,000.00 to have my truck repaired that it was unreasonable to expect the repaired side to look like the unrepaired side. At this time Shelly Krolikowski, Body Shop Manager joined the conversation with me and Eric. After some discussion Shelly and Eric agree that they would redo the body work in the Picture 2. On February 11th, 2025, I left my truck at Ferman for them to redo the repairs on my truck. February 12th, 2025, I received notifications from my insurance company and the car rental agency asking why I have not turned in my rental car when Ferman Ford had notified them that the work was completed? I had to explain to both that my truck was not completed, and they were reworking what was already repaired. This was due to Matt Murphy marking the job complete, when it was still at Ferman Ford for rework. Marking my truck complete when it was not complete is poor business practice. On February 18TH, 2025, after 3 weeks of having my truck at Ferman Collision Center, I was notified that the rework was completed. The rework was completed successfully. I accepted my truck and paid my bill. In summary I would say that taking my truck to Ferman Ford Collision Center was not a good experience for me. ***Buyer beware*** I'm an out of state buyer so if you live in Florida, your mileage may vary. Bought a used 2020 F150 that had the gold pre-owned warranty and a "172 point" inspection. Apparently that inspection did not cover the 2 coolant leaks and an oil leak that I noticed after shipping it to me. Apparently only 1 of the coolant leaks was covered by the warranty, so I have to pay $1700 more to get a new turbo. I have spoken to the finance department multiple times on the warranty, was told it should be covered, most recently with Frank, and was promised someone would look into it. No call backs from anyone. I have driven all the communication, and from my impression they don't give a hoot after your purchase. They apparently are busy with "active buyers." My second poor experience at the Ferman ford Service Department. Like many others, I had a recall on my truck's air bag, plus it was time for an oil change and a tire rotation. I scheduled an appointment online and arrived at the appointed time. Check in was easy. The Service Advisor was friendly and wrote up my work order in a timely manner. Because the work was likely to take a few hours, I told the Service Advisor I had get a ride home, and asked that he call me when the work was completed. The Service Advisor called me twice, once to suggest some routine maintenance, which I declined, and once to tell me the requested work had been completed. I arrived, paid for the oil change and tire rotation, verified that they also performed the recall, and continued home. Everything was OK until today. This morning I attempted to open the hood to install a kayak tie-down strap, and the hood was unusually difficult to open. I've owned this truck for 8 years and have never had a problem. I finally got the hood open and found the problem. The technician who worked on my truck had moved an air conditioning refrigerant hose to check the air filter, failed to put the hose back in the correct place, and then just dropped the hood on the hose, jamming the hood release assembly. This is strictly a lack of attention to detail. As previously mentioned, this was my second poor experience at Ferman Ford's service department. There won't be a third time. read more

Appreciate the speed on it, but service needs to clean up how they process service requests, return phone calls, etc. Still no solution for the loud noise when backing up. My hope is that Ford will eventually care enough to find a fix. Sales department was great. Everything after has been absolute garbage. 2021 Ford Escape with multiple recalls and things falling apart while still under warranty...issues that "Ford is aware of but doesn't have a fix for"....been working for 2 months just trying to get them to order the parts to fix a car that's still under warrant. Lots of people answering the phone with no clue, putting you through to voicemail with no call backs. Extremely frustrating. We will be unloading this car and heading to Toyota or Honda. I wish I could give zero stars! I had a terrible service experience a few months ago with a minor electrical issue on the rear door. At the end of the first day they said the were still working on it but they forget I was in the waiting room and I could see the vehicle in the parking area and it was there for a few hours. On the second day they said I needed a $450 door module. At the end of the third day it was finally ready. They told me it was not the door module so I asked why I was paying for it. Then the story changed to I did need it. Yesterday I called for a appointment for another issue. They said they were booked up for a while but because it was a safety issue I should bring it in anyway and the would get it quicker. When I got there they said it may be a week or more because I didn't have an appointment and they are backed up. They were rude in the way they said it. I won't go back here. I wasn't going to write a review, but after receiving numerous calls and emails from Ferman Ford asking me to rate my experience, I feel compelled to do so. I took my 2021 Bronco Sport, which was under manufacturer's warranty, to Ferman Ford due to a "check charging system" light on the dashboard. The first date I brought my car in was 08/14/24 and waited in their customer area for hour and a half. I left the dealer tinking the issue had been resolved. The second time I brought the car in for the "check charging system" light was 08/19/24; they gave me a loaner and was told that the vehicle needed a new alternator. I picked up my car on 08/23/24. The third time I brought my car in for "check charging system" light was 09/09/24; again I got a loaner and they said that they will switch the alternator they just installed with a new one. I am not a mechanic; thus, I didn't argue with their "solution." I picked up my car on 09/20/24, but a few days later the "check charging system" light came on again. I called Ferman Ford on 09/30/24 and they assured me that they were going to open up a case with Ford Motor Co. to address this recurring matter, so I brought the car back to Ferman on that date for the FOURTH TIME and left with a small and uncomfortable loaner. On 10/02/24, I received a call from Ferman Ford's service manager, who reported that "one of the service employees was conducting a test drive and forgot to close the hood, causing it to fly open and it caused some damage to my vehicle." The service manager offered to repair my Bronco with Ford Parts at no cost to me and NOT report it to CarFax. My answer was "That is unacceptable." I went to the dealer the next day and took pictures of what was left of my Bronco. The entire front had been removed, the side panels were removed, the windshield was completely cracked, the roof dented; so the diminishing value to my car was thousands of dollars. I scheduled a meeting with the General Manager Bob Murray on 10/07/24 first thing in the morning, while dealing with the clean up due to the flooding to our home caused by hurricane Helene. I was at Ferman on time, just to be told that Mr. Murray was in another meeting and was not available to meet me. It would have been at least courteous to call me and cancel, rather than waisting my time. I waited for over a month for Mr. Murray to become available and finally, after reporting this matter to Ford Corporation and the Better Business Bureau, on 11/07/24 I had a meeting with Mr. Murray to discuss how to move forward. We agreed on a trade-in price for my Bronco, which by the way it was paid off, and left the dealer with a 2024 model and a new debt. Their negligence costed me $3,000.00 and they were able to "add a unit to their numbers", but at least I don't have to worry about unknown issues that, I am certain, will come up with my former car after the unfortunate negligence they caused and the repairs they made. Not only were they able to squeeze me in on a very busy day, but they got all of the work completed over 3 hours earlier than they promised it. What a pleasant surprise!!! One thing to note, Waze brought me in a back way to their dealership that no longer exists. If your GPS, tries to route you through a bunch of neighborhoods, try another route. This dealership is the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. I had a very horrible experience with a car I bought, personally. I won't go into detail however they agreed to take the car back, hence began the nightmare. They did not communicate with me, drug this deal out for over a month, put me in a DAMAGE vehicle that is covered in scratches some down to the paint, the taillight is scratched as well. I reported these issues the day of delivery and was provided a "We Owe" that stated they would buff the car. Once the car was buffed the scratches are still there, the entire hood looks like is was driven through a bunch of brush, the taillight is still scratched and this is a supposed to be a 2020, brand new car. I'm not quite sure where this car came from but I have my thoughts. The financing they gave me does not add up at all and it appears as if they have done "funny number finagling". I have gone to the General Manager, Rob Murray of which he told me he would meet with me. We set a date then an hour and a half before our meeting he cancelled, it was on New Years Eve, he went home sick. Recieved call from Asst. Service Manager, William Pannier he was apologetic of this and stated will fix this issue with his team. He asked if he could have the opportunity to give the department another chance. I went back in for "works" service. They noticed the engine filter was showing needing replaced, which they also did without any charge. Warning!!!! We just had the most depressing experience at Ferman Ford. Trying to buy a new vehicle from them is ridiculous. They try to rip you off by not disclosing the actual price until you are confined in the finance office. Then they will add on and charge you for items you never discussed. After all the research you completed you don't like the total cost. There is no negotiating, and you will lose out on the vehicle you wanted. I was also told they had no parts for this repair and no hope of getting them. Parts will take 6 months or better. This was the second time for this repair. I was debating on writing this but I figured other people might find this useful. **Disclaimer: this review is focused on the service side not the sales side. I have no experience with their Sales Department and this is about their Service Department and my first and last time with them. I dropped my Explorer off for a wet headliner which I thought was caused by the recall they just performed. They took the car in and said the hose for the rear passenger sunroof drain was clogged and not draining. For this dianosis I was charged $170ish. I have been in the automotive business long enough to know this is the go to diag for a wet headliner with a sunroof equipped vehicle, no wrench time needed. I asked what this was for and I was told by my Service Advisor Stephen that it was because they had the headliner down to inspect the hose to make sure that was the problem. I was told it would be over $400 to fix it. When I asked if this would be the replacement of the hose they said no, just to run a snake through it. So sticker shock there but okay it's a Franchise Dealership and it's expected. I knew my normal mechanic could do the same work for far less. So I took it over there. When my mechanic ran water through the drain to confirm the clog it just went right through and on to the headliner, weird right. So he pulled the headliner down, which is what I was told Ferman did, to find that there is no hose attached to that drain at all. Now, to my defense, I have owned the Explorer for about 7 months and it has been dry in Florida so I never really noticed a mildew smell before. I called Stephen back and he told me a different story this time, Ford doesn't use the rear drains in 2016 only the fronts and they put foam there to divert the flow. Okay, but there was no foam and if they truly had the headliner down they would have noticed the hose on the rear driverside, that according to the story shouldn't be there, attached securely to the drain. To confirm his story though I called Lakeland Ford and sure enough Ford has a part number for the hose that "doesn't exist". So now I'm being lied to. So what did I really pay for? Not a true diagnosis. I don't mind paying a dianosis fee when it points to a bad part and a place to start but this was just a flat out lie and possibly a random guess by a mechanic who didn't want to do the work. So to me the diag had a $0 value which means I just gave Ferman Ford money for no reason. Were they going to snake a nonexisting hose and charge me over $400 to do it, that's the real question. So I paid for the diag twice once at Ferman for a extremely questionable diagnosis and one at my normal mechanic who nailed it first time. It has rained since it was fixed and guess what, no water on the headliner. Two lessons learned here, just because it's a Dealership doesn't mean they are the best people to work on your vehicle and that you are going to get quality work. All available information and tools they have are available to ANY mechanic some free some requiring purchase. This is fact. Two if you really want to go to a Ford Dealership to have work done go to Walker or someone else if you don't live in the Clearwater area. Your money will be better spent there. Just FYI I gave it two stars because they at least took some money off the diag which was originally over $200. But sometimes cheaper isn't better. Total to fix the car $537 at my mechanic, who cleared all the drains after installing the hose so some cost there, and $170 at Ferman. My mechanic has pictures stored under my account their but since I didn't think I would write this review I didn't have him send them to me, but they show the rear driver hose attached and running to the wheel well drain port and no hose attached to rear passenger side of the sunroof drain. read more

I just bought a certfied pre-owned 2018 chevy silverado in April 2021 with 70,000 miles. The transmission blew while I was in Ft.Myers, a 3 year old certified vehicle, I would rate the customer service except that I can not because it was non-existent! I was transferred everywhere but to a manager which I had requested as this was an emergency to check in what was included if anything my warranty. No call backs, just over and over again told managers and the specific people I was asking for were busy with other clients. Took my F150 in this morning to have the airbag light looked at and the horn fixed. All seemed to go well. Then I got an e-mail with approximately nine "upsell" items that made sense but I wasn't interested in at the time. One of the items was a clock spring. I had no idea at the time what a clock spring even was, so I declined it. Then I received a text that the truck was ready, so I headed back to the dealership. I was about to drive off, but I noticed neither problem was fixed. When I went back to the service advisor I explained that nothing was done. She said that was b/c I declined the clock spring replacement. Nowhere in the e-mail did it say that part was the one needed to actually fix the problems. Mind you, she is saying this with a straight face like it all makes sense. She also accused me of being rude to her, "throwing my keys at her" when she was in fact at my right and I placed the keys in front of me on the desk (placed gently, not threw). She also thought it was okay to charge me $160.xx for doing nothing for me. After speaking to the manager I was able to get my money back, but this was an absurd waste of time. This is a shame. I have bought three new vehicles from Ferman over the years and have had each of them serviced there a great many times. This will be the last visit of my life to any Ferman establishment. Also, some guy called me wanting to buy my truck. They take the time to call me re: something I'm not interested in, yet they can't call me to discuss in a sensible way what needs to be done to the vehicle. I will not name the tech in case this is the first mistake of hers of such an idiotic caliber. I don't want to ruin her ability to earn a living elsewhere, but if it is not the first of its type she should be swiftly terminated. Who in their right mind thinks that someone takes their vehicles to a dealership, have NOTHING done to it, and walk away having paid $160.xx satisfied with a smile on his or her face? And again she had the nerve to say I was being rude. I was angry, but I never shouted, cursed, name called, or did anything remotely out of line. Actually this review is TWO years in the making..... We bought our FIRST car from Demetrios at Ferman two years ago. Best new car we ever bought! Demetrios bent over backwards to get us what we wanted, at the right price and it didn't take all day! Fast forward to now..... Demetrios just sold us out SECOND car and once again, above and beyond service, exactly what we wanted at a good price. If you need a car, seriously go see him at Ferman first!
