Hello, I wanted to share my recent experience with the service department.  My 2015 F-150 had a large cloud of white smoke coming from the exhaust when it was started after sitting unused for more than a day. I took it to Ferman Ford, 24825 US Hwy 19 N, Clearwater FL 33763, August 31, 2022 for service. My adviser was Jeff Vuncannon. He called the next day and I sent him a video of the smoke cloud and described the issue. I got a call back 30 minutes later and was informed that the issue was the oil feed tube for the turbocharger. Jeff said this was a known issue with my truck and Ford had put out a service bulletin about the issue. I had Ford's PremiumCARE warranty on my vehicle. This warranty covers everything on the truck with the exception of maintenance or cosmetic issues and specifically mentions that it covers the turbocharger. Jeff told me my warranty did not not cover the issue and wanted almost $900 to fix it. I told him repeatedly that the warranty covered these types of issues. I even had him pull up the website where it clearly stated that turbochargers were covered. He insisted that I could either pay the cost of the repair or pay $150 for a diagnostic fee for the less than 30 minutes it took him to show the video to the mechanic assigned and learn it was a known issue. I requested a service manager and was transferred to William Pannier. I went through all this again and he also told me that the warranty would not cover the repair. He gave me the number to Ford customer service and advised me to call them. After several transfers and a fair amount of time on the phone with Ford I reached Ford's pre-approval line for warranty work. The woman there was great. She gave me the number of the service bulletin, the part number the dealer needed to run and my claim number. She confirmed that the repair was covered and the service bulletin had notes about coverage. When I asked, she confirmed that the dealership should have called Ford warranty pre-approval and not made the customer do the leg work. I called William back armed with the information from Ford. I gave him all the info and he called back later saying the repair would be covered. A few days later I picked up my truck and requested a survey as I was unhappy. Both Jeff and William tried to talk me into leaving a positive review. I told them I felt I had received poor service. If I had not spent hours on the phone I would be out almost $900. I refused to give a positive review. A few days later I saw my truck still had the white smoke cloud after a cold start. I called Ferman and left a message for a different service manager, Joe Wheeler. I got a call back from William who said Joe was unavailable. I explained my truck was still not fixed. He said before he would make an appointment we had to discuss the survey. He said that he would not feel "comfortable " working on my truck if I did not leave a positive review. I told him I had already paid a deductible to have the warranty repair and he could not just refuse to fix the issue. He said he could refund the deductible and refuse to fix the issue. I replied that would be great. After the service I had received thus far I would be happy to go somewhere else. He backed off from that statement saying he would do the repair, but again pressured me for an assurance I would leave a positive review. I was very uncomfortable. I refused to make some sort of positive review promise as the truck was not even fixed yet. He eventually made an appointment for me but it felt like he was trying to extort a positive review from me and holding the repair of my truck hostage until I made some sort of promise to do so. On a positive note he did arrange for me to have a loaner vehicle for this second attempt to fix the issue. I drove up to Ferman again and dropped my truck off with Jeff a few days later. I sent him a new video of the smoke from the truck. He asked me to wait while he showed it to the mechanic. They both came back a few minutes later. The mechanic said that after the oil line repair white smoke continues to come from the exhaust for 500 to 1000 miles. I was never told this when I picked up the truck or when I called back to make a new appointment. The mechanic was right and the smoke has burned off now, but I wasted half a day again driving up to Ferman to drop off the truck. I am very disappointed with the whole experience. I love my truck but have had several bad experiences at dealers. None were as bad as this but I have not felt like a valued customer. Sadly, these experiences will influence what brand of vehicle I buy next. read more

I wouldn't recommend this dealer for anything, they are not honest; I had a problem with my car turbo in the summer that no other ford dealer would diagnose but they found the problem & I thought they were magnificent & David Castillo faught or so he convinced me with the extended warranty which was ford as well .. Anyways they gave me the illusion that they fixed the car; it was a $4000 job & I paid $500 deductible & soon after couple of months I started having the same problem with the car so I called David & told him this is happening & David I'm driving back to Los Angeles & need the car to be running perfect & so he told me don't worry Azza you have warranty for the job we did & everything will be fine bring it before you leave & we will check everything for you. I went the week before my trip & David is MIA & can't be found & another agent comes & tell me oh u have a hole in one of the hoses of the turbo & u need to change this hose & it'll be $750 plus other stuff for another $2000 !!!!!!! I went livid & told them didn't u just fix my car turbo ?? Why didn't u change this hose since u already was there & took $4000 ??!!!! She got t supervisor & he coldly told me the hose was looking good at the time of the turbo fixing & ur car won't make it to Los Angeles & u have no warranty cause this is a new job ....... Can u believe this blunt thief ??? I gave them all a piece of my mind & told them u rip ppl off & don't do good jobs & leave tails so we keep coming back & ooze money in ur pockets. Left them went to AAA they patched the hose for $120 & I made it safe to Los Angeles. NEVER use this place or any other dealer for that matter they are Alllllllllllll ripe off ... Stay away from this dealership! I took my car in to get repaired from a car accident that happened in Wisconsin after I noticed my car wasn't repaired correctly. From the beginning, Rich lacked communication skills and I had to constantly contact him. Rich informed me the only issues they found were a tire rim and sensor on the passenger side after a week of having my vehicle which required me to call him constantly to get updates. I asked Rich could I come in on a Saturday because my wife and I work all week long. His response, "We do not cater to clients." I was Pissed! You kept my car for a full work week and then had the nerve to tell me you couldn't get me in on a Saturday after my insurance already sent the check to repair my vehicle? So, he finally did get me in on a Saturday. Therefore, I took my car in to be repaired on 2/1/2020 and waited three hours after I was told it would take an hour at most. The Service specialist notified me my vehicles sensor light still didn't come off but they fixed the tire rim and sensor on my front passenger side. I was confused why they didn't fix my car but the service guy was really cool so I didn't let it get me upset.He then told me that today (2/7/2020) I could go in and get a diagnostic done and Ferman would lend me a vehicle since they failed to find the repair nor the reason the sensor light was still on. However, Rich notified me on 2/6, that he had no idea my vehicle wasn't repaired and they would not diagnose my car again unless I paid for it. Rich once again said, "he would give me call back after talking to service." Guess what? He never called once again! I truly feel I was scammed and you just took my insurances money without fixing my car. Your lack of professionalism Rich is pathetic. I did not have to take my vehicle to your dealership to be repaired. I chose to take it to you guys because I thought you would diagnose my car correctly being its a Lincoln and you are a Ford dealership. For anyone reading this, I would never recommend this dealership for repairs and if you do go to them. I hope you don't get Rich as your point of contact. I'll be contacting my insurance to notify them you screwed me over! I have waited weeks to get this repair fixed and called multiple times. Rich do not contact me anymore. It would've been the employee or someone walked into the parking lot and went into my truck. I filed a police report. I went in for an oil change, air filters and a recall on my vehicle. He told me $70.95 for the oil change, other dealerships have charged me $39.95 plus tax out the door. They charged $70.95 AND $27.00 for labor. The air filters are simple and they were a little bit more than other places but the prices I have paid in the past included labor, the charged me $49.90 for labor. They even charged me $8.74 labor for a Ford recall. I just moved to the area and was totally taken advantage of. I do not recommend this place since I asked for prices up front and he didn't include the labor when quoting me. They even tried hitting me up for items I had done prior to moving to Florida. Was interested in a used vehicle that was on the lot, wasn't crazy about the price but given the current state of car prices, I didn't intend to negotiate much. I considered trading in one of my vehicles when I finally replied to an internet salesperson. He mentioned a "significantly higher than KBB trade in value." Which, to me, seemed like a good opportunity to make a transaction using a trade in, compared to buying outright. So, I made my way to the dealership, where I spent about 30 minutes before someone was able to help me. I spent another 30 minutes listening to their requests to "put me in the system" and for them to attempt to gather information about me. Sure, a fair exchange, I suppose to test drive a vehicle. Once I was ready to test drive, we had to wait for a very specific person to bring the car down off of display ramps. While driving the car down, it scraped several times and the driver had a difficult time with the manual transmission - often grinding the gears. The car was filthy, with kick marks on the door panels, leaves in the front cowl, dirt in the floorboard etc. Still, despite my gut saying to leave, I took it for a test drive. The car drove nicely. That's the positive. Afterwards, I still wasn't especially excited about the car. I reluctantly decided to allow an appraisal of my vehicle, which was given an appraisal of roughly TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS less than KBB value. $8k less than what Carmax was offering and $7,500 less than Carvana... I politely declined the offer and requested to leave. They did not allow me to leave when I wanted, holding my keys hostage to keep me around to renegotiate. The salesman returned with an offer of $5k higher than his original offer, which still felt insulting - still too low and curious why they wouldn't offer that in the first place. I firmly asked for my keys and left. When I arrived home, I discovered an email from the dealership that thanked me for coming in and to "let them know if there was anything they could do". TLDR - low balled my trade in that I didn't really even want to trade. Took very poor care of the car they were selling. It has been on their lot for over 2 months. read more

I have had some great experiences at dealerships in the past, but my experience with Ferman Countryside wins the award for the worst. I have mixed emotions about Countryside Ford. I loved buying my car from here. I special ordered my Fusion Hybrid in May of 2013. Everyone I had contact with on the sales floor was very nice and I feel that I got a great price. I would give them 5 stars. Unfortunately the service dept has been the downfall so far. I ordered a part and scheduled an appointment to have it installed. Nobody ever called to say the part arrived. When I finally picked it up it was the wrong part. Again I had to wait for it to be delivered and again nobody called me. When I went in to pick it up it took awhile to find it because it wasn't under my name but the dealership. While everyone is very nice there, they need to work on their customer communication skills. I will give the service department another try and maybe I will be able to give the dealership 5 stars overall. I have also visited the collision dept when the plastic beneath my bumper had a fight with the stupid concrete barriers in the parking lot. The guys in there were very helpful and fast. read more

Was in an accident 7/5 and had my F150 taken there to be fixed. Got it back yesterday. There was extensive damage and multiple parts had to be ordered. Some ordered after digging deeper into the damage causing the long repair time. i am happy with the outcome. Steve at the collision center did a good job of keeping me updated and was accommodating when it came time to pick up. I've been coming here since 2009. I traded my Honda Mom Van and then did a couple other trades and leases through them. Ferman Ford used to be Countryside Ford. I'm not sure what changed as far as "inside" the company but I do know the way it was run under Countryside was 100 times better. My fiancé came in to have an oil change on my truck. He was looking around and decided to trade in for a Mustang. All went well (as it usually does for men buying cars) until the LoJack was never set up. Almost a month later they had to install a new one and redo all the paperwork. It was a headache. I came in due to my lease being up. I wasn't sure I wanted a new one. Without even discussing options I was shown a new truck. It's nice. I decided to go ahead and lease it. When I got it home, the next day I inspected the truck. There were dings and dents and the rubber gasket around the window was coming off. For a brand new truck that is not acceptable. I made an appointment to have that all fixed at their expense along with the leather interior protection. I made the apt, went in they had the truck all day. When I picked it up the one scratch wasn't fixed and the rubber gasket were not fixed either. Now I have to take it back. I am not impressed with Ferman. I loved Countryside but since the take over they have not been the same. I would suggest being patient if you choose to go here otherwise find another Ford dealer. read more

Recently we were in a minor accident and decided to use the Collision Center at Ferman for the needed repairs. I am giving 5 stars because they definitely made this unfortunate experience as pleasant and painless as possible. On each visit we received a quick and friendly greeting from one or more employees and were offered coffee or water to drink. We worked with Brian who was very friendly, explained the process completely and clearly and scheduled the work to be done at a time convenient for us. The work was done quickly and very well, our car was returned on time, 100% restored, washed and vacuumed. Honestly, I hope I never have to return but if I needed collision repairs I would absolutely return and highly recommend Ferman Ford to do the work. I can understand how some people have a bad experience while others have a good one. I've had several positive experiences at Countryside Ford Mazda. For starters, I have a Mazda, and I have a Ford. Both recent purchases. The Mazda I got at another dealer, but this is the closest Mazda dealer so I brought it here. I was in and out for an oil change with little hassle. Not sure what else you can ask for. I then decided to stop by and look at trucks with no intention of buying, and drove off with a Raptor. Lenny was very courteous and helpful, and everyone from the sales manager to the finance guy were very courteous and friendly. Not sure if it's my nature, but if I felt I wasn't being treated right, I'd ask to speak to the General Manager. These folks depend on repeat business and word of mouth. It's just not smart to not take care of customers. There's always bad apples everywhere, but in my several experiences in both sales and service, I've found them responsive, courteous and professional. I would definitely recommend them toy friends, I will be taking my cars back to them for service, and would definitely shop there again. That's as good as it gets. read more

Are you looking at a vehicle from Ferman Countryside? Ask yourself these questions. Do you want to be lied to? Do you want a car that was told is yours to be sold out from underneath you? Do you want multiple managers to promise you things that never happened? Do you want a lemon? Do you want to drop your car off for service work and then have them use all of your gas, so you run out before making it to the closest gas station? Guess what! Ferman Countryside is your place! All of these things happen to me while buying a used car from them. After 3 months and 3 different vehicles, almost 90 days late on a loan that I didn't even have anymore. I now have something Ill be safe in. The management staff (Other than Joe in Service) is a joke. Ed shows no concerns, motivation, and/or remorse for the way the dealership is ran. The GM Derrick will not even return phone calls, emails, and/or reach out when Ferman Corporate tells him too. If you or anyone is thinking about buying from this business please don't!! You will regret it. You are safer buying from Craigslist! Disclaimer: I waited to post this till I exhausted all options for them to try and fix my experience. The worst dealership to deal with... tried to get my 2018 mustang in for service and I played phone tag with service to get it scheduled for about 2 weeks. Finally speak with someone and I'm told to bring it down and they will fit it in between other vehicles and when I get there they have no record of me calling and won't take my car. The tech said he would get me scheduled next week . I'm a nurse and work sometimes 6 days a week n it could not wait another week so I call to speak with a manager and no such luck either general manager off of course and assistant manager couldn't come to the phone. I also tried calling the new port richey Ferman and they never even called back. If I could give no stars on this review I would because they don't even deserve a one star rating. read more

Purchased a Mazda CX5 8 months ago. Had one prior service visit for routine maintenance. I purchased an extended warranty which at the time of purchase was told by the sales person and the finance manager that although Ferman in Clearwater is no longer a Mazda dealership, I could bring the car to them (4 miles from my house) and be covered with the service agreement. I called to make appointment to check the driver side seat - the motor is making noise - and I was told that they may not be able to fix the problem because they are no longer a Mazda dealer. A service representative called me and assured me the car was covered, but at this point, I don't trust anything or anyone from the Ferman organization. It looks like this company is still selling cars the old fashion way... go buy and service your car elsewhere. read more

I went to Ferman Ford in Clearwater. The salesman that helped me Joe Callipare was very nice and found the car with color I wanted and everything on the car that I wanted. My only problem was when I went in to do the paper work, the financial person had a lot of things for me to sigh but did not explain any of them to me. Before I knew what I was signing, that amount was over 3,000.00 more than expected. I did go back in and cancelled items I didn't even know that I had signed for. It took 5 weeks for the credit to come through on my loan. My advice for seniors is to take someone with you for the financial and read what you are signing and ask questions. Once I signed an electronic device it put my name on 5 pages that I didn't even see. I learned a lesson. Hope this advice helps someone else. L Pratt read more
