This was my first visit here ever. It's in East Ridge, TN. My experience? Great service - Great Food and Great Place. Yes, that just about sums it up for this restaurant. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door and seated near the front entrance. I highly recommend getting their buffet here. While, you are at it, ask for the 10 percent discount you get just for checking in here using the Yelp App. I see others were charged $7.99 for their buffet but I was charged $8.99. Maybe they have gone up on their prices or dinner buffet is one dollar more. Anyway, as you walk in, bathrooms are up front. So, you can wash your hands before you enter the restaurant. How cool is that. As you open the second inside door, you will see 3 bars in the back. One is a salad/soup bar, one is a pizza bar and the other is of course the hot bar which is the most popular. After choosing my buffet items I sat down and my waiter asked if I wanted any bread. So, I got their cornbread which was excellent. You can get a salad along with desert too here. Both, were delicious and the buffet items I chose really had Fernando's hitting a "home run" with me. They also kept my drink full at all times while I was dining in here. Their cornbread was soft and delicious. Their spaghetti tasted great just like mama makes. Oh and I can't believe I was able to get sweet potato casserole with marshmallows here. It's worth coming here just to get that. In summary, I will definitely come back one day. I parked in the back which is what I recommend. Don't forget to ask for the ten percent discount just for checking in on Yelp when you leave. Final thoughts: I don't know why there are a hand full of bad reviews. The food was great. In fact, I wish there was a Fernando's close to where I live. I'd be a regular. I saw nothing wrong. I mean everyone was nice and friendly to me including the hostess who is also the cashier. So, congratulations on a 5 star review.

We decided to try this place out instead of going to Cracker Barrel, but we should have just gone there instead. Slow service, and once the food came out it was all just barely warm. Pancakes were inedible, but the skillet was pretty good, would have been much better hot. The portion sizes were big.

this is Fernando's version of French Toast???? Three slices of dry white toast??? I kid you NOT

Worst French toast EVER!!!!!!! Three slices of DRY WHITE TOAST. Fernando's PLEASE hire a real chef/cook. I laughed for twenty whole minutes after opening this (delivered by Door Dash). If you don't know how to make simple French toast, get the heck out the kitchen. If I could score less than one star I would.

We had the misfortune to eat at Fernando's Sunday evening about 4:00 pm, 5/22/22. I had the buffet and it was good. My wife ordered a Hamburger and fries. After 45 minutes, my wife hadn't received her food. I complained to our waitress (after I was able to make interrupt her from fraternizing with her coworkers). Apparently, our inept waitress didn't turn in my wife's food order. My wife didn't receive her food for over an hour after she ordered it! Also, I had to trail down employees to get condiments. No refills on our drinks until we were ready to leave! Fernando, please pay more attention to your business. Our waitress needs to be fired! You can locate my check because they took 48 cents off because our food too long. See

I have yet to actually eat in the restaurant. I've ordered a few times from Wait'rd or GrubHub. I love that I can get breakfast delivered when I just don't feel like going out on a weekend morning. The food comes pretty quickly and the pancakes and potatoes are good. I ordered poached eggs once, but wouldn't do that again. By the time they got to me, they had pretty much steamed cooked to hard steamed eggs. Not their fault. I've even ordered oatmeal and it was just perfectly comforting. Dinner as been hit or miss. They gyro was really good, but the meatloaf was not. Mashed potatoes are yummy and plentiful. You can get a typical meat and three here. My understanding is that it is owned by someone who also partially owned Family Table, which was a staple with me and my ex a few years ago. It is comfort food, for sure.

Service was good, first plate I grabbed for the buffet was dirty with food stuck to it, the buffet was not very impressive at all. The food was good but the salad was not, it was full of white lettuce, very little green at all. Maybe ordering off the menu or eating off the pizza bar would have been better. On a positive note, the apple cobbler was great!

Had breakfast here while waiting for a local store to open. Basic decor, nice staff and good food. Multiple menu choices. Reasonable prices.

I like this place overall but I have to say that their system for changing from lunch to dinner…read morefelt very disorganized. I just left feeling like they need to consider a more fair way to do things. There are two lines when you come in. I was in line at the restaurant for the people who are less than 5 people party because I was just eating by myself. I went in and in line at 250 pm on a Saturday. Now, the line was moving slow for our side but the greater than 5 people party who came in after me was seated first since the greater than 5 people party line had no one in it and I saw their bill marked as lunch. There was a tall man and his wife in front of me and they let him into the buffet at senior lunch prices at 302pm. Then the manager entered something in the computer and when I stepped up at 303pm, it was dinner prices. I tried to explain to him "Sir, I was in the door by 250pm. I saw people come in after me at the greater 5 line get in for lunch". He said he couldn't do anything about it but he literally changed something in the computer just as I stepped up. Now idk if I was just looking like the easier target to cut off for lunch because it was only myself and I'm a short girl and probably physicallyI don't look like I'd put up much of a fight to turn down but it just doesn't seem fair. A big womp womp in process if you ask me. I'm just noting on here that I wish management would create a division line in the lines OR give the last person a ticket that they're the last lunch price for people that entered the restaurant before 3 pm instead of picking Willy nilly on where the cut off was. It's not exactly fun to see people arrive after you with a big party and they get to eat at lunch prices and you can't. Now, I'm not one to write a scathing review but I just want to bring attention to the process in hopes that it will be correct for the future. Also wanted to note that the supervisor didn't do anything wrong. He had to do what he had to do but I just wanted to give feedback on a better lunch to dinner transition that's fair. Thank you. Overall, the food selection is pretty good. They have a salad bar, soups, ribs, hot wings, fried chicken, pot roast, collard greens, Mexican taco section, sausages, cheeseburgers for lunch, steak for dinner, pasta, popcorn shrimp, fish, veggies and a dessert bar with icee machine + ice cream machine.

Food is always good! Elly our server was on top of our request. Nice place family friendly ambiance.read more

The service is superb, warm and inviting what you would expect from a southern style restaurant and very clean. The hot bard was always clean and fully stocked. We didn't have to wait too long before we were seated and we got our drink orders. The fried chicken was excellent. Some more of my favorites was the fried okra, wieners and sauerkraut, meatballs (specially seasoned) boiled cabbage, pasta salad, corn bread, banana pudding ( the best I have had in a long time} peach cobbler mmmmmm and they kept the cobbler and fresh cookies on a hot plate to keep them warm. What restaurant does that besides this one!? By the way the salad bar was well kept also. If those attention to details wasn't enough for you, the price includes your drink, and the coffee was so good I had 5 cups!

I'm reminded of an older homey diner, plenty of seating, plenty of staff assisting. Pre-pay, get seated, order you drinks and choose from so many southern dishes. The presentation was that of a cafeteria mixed with mix n match buffet equipment, I think this played part on how I choose my food. They home style choices were numerous so definitely something for everyone. What I did love about this restaurant, it was definitely serving the local community and based on the number of larger, multi generational families seen together it was truly heart warming. I think this environment is much better than a stuffy environment and great to see a community supportive of the locals. Close to Hwy 27 so in the mood for a large meal or just some home style cooking give it a try. Finally don't forget to pick up some local honey or goods.

Certainly an unusual place for a restaurant but handy for local business in the area. If you care…read moreat all about our environment this is NOT the place to eat. Everything is throw away. EVERYTHING styrofoam and plastic. Sad to say we were very disappointed. Only options are the food bar. Nothing Greek nor Italian on the bar other than some seasonings added to the food. The food is NOT prepared there, it's brought in turkey sized aluminum pans and then put into the pans in the hot bar. Again, there are styrofoam plates and bowls, no tray to carry your plate on. Plastic forks, spoons, knives. The drinks are expensive, $2.50 each. The fried chicken was good but the salisbury steak is mystery meat, formed patties purchased frozen and gravy covered to mask the 'meat'. There is so much SALT on the greens we couldn't eat them. The mash potatoes were cold and so loaded with seasonings that it overwhelmed any potato taste. The sweet potatoes were cold, creamed and not bad but we like hot food hot. There was a dish with gravy, chicken and a topping of salty crumbled topping that left us wondering what they intended it to be. The green beans were okay but again way too much salt. The prepackaged rolls were okay for prepacked rolls. The salad bar. The lettuce was so wet it was disgusting. It is prepacked and just dumped onto the other lettuce. The other items were the things you expect on a salad bar, cheese, olives, pickled okra etc. All salad bar ingredients were good except the lettuce. We won't return unless there are many better reviews after our visit on March 5th. I do not know how long this 'restaurant' has been open. It is not anything like the Portofino's in East Ridge that we absolutely do enjoy. It was a disappointment eating at the 'homestyle' restaurant.
