I eat Mexican Food on a daily basis because I am Mexican. We came here just to see and try it out as Family, Although we didn't expect much. It really wasn't great. We given Salsa and chips and the salsa is super tasteless. We ordered burritos and tacos and the meat in the soft tacos was still red and chewy and not cooked all the way through. The waitress was kind and did her job. The beans felt like they were just old and canned. The guacamole was also not great at all. Coming from someone who eats these foods regularly I don't recommend coming to this restaurant in the Mall. Their is another Fernandos in the Maui Marketplace and it's a lot better. Their is much better Mexican Restaurants around Maui but they are still no where near to authentic. I would really suggest you go elsewhere for food and don't think that Mexican Food is bad it really depends on who prepares it and where you going. Fresh would always be nice. But unfortunately the prices of food don't match the taste at all. I'm just letting those who like Mexican Food to really go elsewhere. The first time I went here I had fried ice cream with my friends and it was great. I went here again this past week and it was just ok. Our waitress seemed a bit bashful when she asked if I was 21 years old and I said yes. She proceeded to get our drinks and then came back and shyly asked to see our IDs. I ordered their Cadillac margarita which they call (Kristy's Margarita). It was just okay. It wasn't the greatest/ We also ordered Mexican pizza with steak and their ceviche. Their chips were cold and tasted stale. Their salsa was good. Their Mexican pizza was just okay. We did enjoy the ceviche. We went there after seeing a movie and they were closing at 9pm so hopefully our next experience will be better. There were 2 other tables with people there so they didn't seem busy but maybe we got there after their rush but who knows. We might give it another try...maybe. read more

I finally made it to this place. I've been putting it off for way to long but I'm glad I gave it a try. There are several Mexican eateries in the area and each place fits a particular mood. I recommend this place if you want a quiet, full service experience and great for groups or larger parties. The taco salad was the star of the evening and the margarita was long overdue. HH is 2-6. Tasty margaritas. I'd come here again. :) The ceviche was nice and it reminded me that I should order it more often. The margaritas were good as well and I was definitely feeling the buzz on my second one. Great for watching sports too. Tonight was a very disappointing night for this restaurant I made a phone order for dinner 3 items at 6:49 pm when our daughter came to pick up order at 7:36 pm more then enough time the order was not ready , she had to wait and when she came home we were missing one entree ! I called , had to go back down to pick up that entree got a mediocre apology and a refund for one entree and they didn't even get that one correct either so we will not recommend this restaurant to any one nor will we support them read more

Well this review is particularly about the food. Went when it was pretty much dead...it was is and 2 other tables so of course the service was fast. Anyway, the menu looked like any Mexican food place menu with the normal enchiladas, burritos and all that good stuff. The prices seem to be about the average prices I've seen at other Mexican places ranging from $10 to $20 depending on your food item. I got the shredded beef quesadillas. It came with Mexican rice, beans, salsa, scoop of guac and a scoop of sour cream. The food was good. It wasn't like OMG make me drool and want to eat a second round good, but it was good. The meat was soft and had flavor and it wasnt overly cheesy. Rice and beans tasted like regular rice and beans. I'd eat here again but its not a place that I HAVE to go back to again. read more

When I was visiting Maui I stopped in to eat here. I've been to Maui dozens and dozens of times, and I've always seen this cute little authentic looking Mexican Food restaurant, but never stopped in. My friend who lives there told me they were great! So I went for lunch with my 11 year old son. We actually enjoyed it. Taste was great, food was great, atmosphere was great, the only reason I'm giving this a 4 out of 5 is because my server was not the best, she was pleasant but she honestly looked homeless or something, not that I am trying to be rude or judge someone at all, but she just looked sloppy, she stank like cigarettes, and moved really slow. Wow! Seriously bummed! We were so excited to try this place and sad to say our first time was a bad experience. We sat down and the waitresses just looked at us but none came to greet or give us a menu. About 5 minutes later a guy came with menus and chips and salsa and told us our waitress is on her way. We waited and waited and waited! We knew other people were being serviced so we just said we'll give them a chance. The waitress passed us sooo many times and she kept glancing at us but as soon as we would try to get her attention she would look the other way. I love this place...every time I am at the mall I have to stop here I can't help it. The rolled taquitos are my favorite. The portions are large and ask for the flour chips they cost a little more but totally worth it.The atmosphere is fast and friendly you can usually find the owner there helping out and Rose is my favorite server.She is always friendly and sweet. read more

Wheres the no star when you need it? I got the enchiladas with red sauce and after one bite sent it back. Tasted like someone mixed peprika and canned tamato paste together and called it a day. Our server was good and took it off the bill but i was pissed when i had to go pay 45 bucks for 1 app and 1 entree and a side of beans and rice. About 30 min after we both felt sick to our stomach.
