Been here dozens of times and never disappointed. We arrived after 2:30 and they were still busy. The friendly cashier said my order would be ready in 20 minutes. No worries; it's worth waiting for. She gave me a pager, and we watched the chickens while we waited for our 4 soft birria tacos. As always, it was worth the wait. The burria was plentiful, with cilantro and diced onion, on the tacos. The flavor was excellent, especially with their tomatillo salsa and a squeeze of fresh lime. Glad to see the sliced radish, the pickled jalapeño and (oh, man) the marinated carrot slices! I was searching last night on Oahu where my lunch was going to be today on Maui Decided to give Tacos Y Mariscos a go.........BOYYyYyYy they did NOT disappoint. Let's start by saying, they pulled into the pole position of my most delectable Mexican food bite and place in Hawaii (albeit only had on Oahu and Maii, lol). My order: Chorizo Burrito Bowl and maaayynnn Thai thing was loaded. Starts with a layer of rice, beans, chorizo, green and red cabbage, pico de gallo, avacado, topped with chipotle aioli. Then on the side is a lime, pickled carrots, jalapeño, radish, and I chose spicy salsa. The bowl is huge,, and i stuffed my face and finished every bite haha; it goes to say hot great it was. The rice and beans are a perfect layer of goodness, the crunch from the fresh veggies, that smoky and spicy (light) of the chorizo, richness of that avacado, and finished off with that nice creamy aioli. Then I hit it with the kick or the lime and extra spice of the salsa. I'm in heaven. Oh then add side tart, tangy, and crunchy bites of the pickled veg. Waaaaawhoooo was my tummy happy. I'd like to say, I want to come back and all their other options such as their soft and questo tacos or biria. However as I am not in Maui much, probably going back for my home run. This is such a great food truck! Staff is always friendly and helpful. Takes about 10-15 minutes to get your food because they make it when you order. I love their delicous tender birra-usualy get a few tacos and one of their huge burritos to go(it heats up very well in the microwave or toaster oven for my lunch the next day) nice sized parking lot with 1 small table with umbrella if you want to eat there. My first taste of Hawaii and I was not disappointed!!! We ordered the island soft tacos, 2 chorizo & 2 birria. They came with sides of sauce, which only elevated the flavors. The portion size was perfect. 2/3 tacos is a solid meal, but we did 1 each and tried food from the other trucks in the area! There are a few picnic benches in the area, so you can stay and enjoy the meal, surrounded by wild chicken :) The only watchout... you'll be sitting unbothered till you bring your food around. The tacos came piled with a good portion of meat and came with radishes and pickled carrots and jalepenos. We ordered the fish taco and the birria tacos. The fish soft taco was tasty. The grilled fish was topped with a nice crunchy cabbage slaw and drizzled with a dressing. I was disappointed with the birria soft taco. The meat was dry and didn't have any additional broth to season it. The tacos came with some pickled carrots and radish. Unfortunately they were they were a little soft and not very pickled. The ordering experience was good because the service was quick and the cashier was friendly and helpful when ordering. I came here for a Yelp Elite event last week for the first time. The food truck is located in the Triangle food court adjacent to the Courtyard by Marriott. The food is terrific. I had two barria tacos and one shrimp taco. I was talking about this food truck to my 3 or my coworkers, and they all had great things to say about this truck. My hunny and I LOVE this place so much! It's a MUST stop every time we come to Lahaina! Food: We always get the Birria and Asada Quesatacos with a side of rice and beans and consommé each! It's so filling and so delicious. Especially when dipping it into the consommé it just makes everything so moist and delicious. On the weekends it gets a little busy, but I can assure you it is so well worth the wait! Lahaina is on the hot side, so if the table they have under their tent is in use, I would suggest eating it in your car in THE AC or taking it to go and eat at home or in your hotel. Well I can officially cross "eat the world's best fish tacos" off my bucket list because I just had them here. No kidding, they are really outstanding tacos. Overstuffed with fresh fish and toppings. They are served with a tasty salsa verde on the side. Its gonna get messy so ask for extra napkins. You can get soft tortillas or fried. Both are equally good. Located across Costco in the open lot with other food trucks, Las Islitas offers a great selection of Mexican Foods. Tried the Birria Tacos, Fish Burrito, Chips and Salsa. Also tried the Jarritos Strawberry and Pineapple Sodas which were refreshing and not too sweet. The Birria tacos were excellent, had a good amount of meat (had shredded beef) and cheese. The consome had a spice to it. I prefer it on the more mild side. The fish used in the burrito was mahi mahi and it was also great. All I can say is this place sells the best Birria Tacos I ever had. This taco Food Truck is located by the Kahului Marriot which is located across of Costco. Everytime I call (which is quite frequent for me) I speak to a friendly young gal on the telephone. She tells me how long it will be and the most important question is "would you want the tacos crispy or soft", and of course I choose crispy. The only way to go. You may choose to Sit at there table which is under a tent or you may choose to go. It's totally up to you. The ambiance is hmmm it's a food truck! So it's pretty neat. I always say to myself I will try something different the next time I'm here but I don't I ashtrays get these Birria Tacos because that's how good it is. Without a doubt, Front Street is great but take the short 5 minute walk to this quaint little food truck park one street over and you'll be glad you did. There's even thirty minute parking for patrons. The wait may be a little long, but worth it. Each taco is made to order and well crafted. We ordered the fish and birria soft tacos as well as the chorizo quesotaco. The coleslaw was great but the fish itself was just ok. Runner up was the chorizo which was greasy but good. Our favorite was birria - meat was tender and plentiful. We tried both salsas but the red was preferred as it had more of a kick. Limited seating is available. Today I got the lengua torta. The lengua was oh so tender and flavorful. The amount of lengua was reasonable, not just bread. Though the bread had a nice crispiness on the crust but soft inside. All in all a good torta and very filling. On a side note, they are one of the first Lahaina businesses to reestablish themselves after the devastating west maui wildfire. Husband and I finally got to try this Taco food trailer after so many people hyped it up to us. We ordered 2 tacos each, rice, and beans. For tacos we got, 2 birrias, 1 carne asada, 1 chorizo. Unfortunately our plates were not labeled so we didn't know which taco belonged to who. They probably should try to label the plates so people know if they got the right taco. The cashier was polite and sweet, told us it would be 20 minutes wait time. The total came out to $29.30. The food trailer is located in a food truck parking lot across Costco. The trailer itself is a bit further from the central seating area. Not too much shade available near their trailer, so it was hot waiting in the sun. The tacos tasted pretty much like your normal tacos. Nothing that stands out. The small plates came with carrots, jalapeños, and radishes which I did not care for because it just tasted spicy to me. Super oily compared to others places I've ate at. The highlight of the dish would be the beans (fyi- does not come with the tacos). I recommend they make a note on their menu that some items come with the side carrots, radish, and jalapenos so it might be spicy. This would be a great note to make especially if you're sharing food with someone who can't handle the heat or if a child tries to eat one of these added sides. read more

Originally in Lahaina town until it burned down, Las Islitas now has 2 locations, 1 opposite Costco in Kahului, and the other outside IDG grocery store in Lahaiana. Both serve excellent authentic Mexican food (I know because my Mexican friends swear by it and get them to cater birthday parties etc). I love the Mulitas (basically a crispy taco sandwich) and the quesadillas (soft taco sandwich) with prawns, but everything is good! You can tell they are popular as there is always a line and you have to wait for the food to be cooked fresh, individually. Yum! Worth the wait. I would definitely recommend both locations, competitively priced and delicious. Ask for the hot salsa if you need to unblock your nasal passages :) read more

Wow! This spot met the expectations. The staff was super friendly and very helpful when asking for sides and extra sauces. The Pork and Fish were so incredible! The pork was very tender and juicy with amazing flavor that really stands out in the mix of cheeses and sauce. The fish portions were very generous and thick, flaky and buttery, not battered or over seasoned. Cooked perfectly with amild flavor. Consome dipping sauce was a level up for everything. I finally made it here! I had been wanting to stop by for the longest time, but you know that drive to west side just for food seems so far sometimes. Went with the birria quesatacos & of course the consome. It was still early, so there was no one in line, so I got my food pretty quick. Drove back into town, everything still warm. Holy birria, it was like a party in my mouth! The crispy cheesy shell, the perfectly moist meat, liquid dripping out everywhere.The tartness of the lime & a little bit of spice from the salsa, perfection. The consome, was so savory & added that extra flavor, honestly you could without it if you want. It's very flavorful on its own. There is also a mild salsa also which was very good, but I think we can agree, a little spice is always good. 2023 update! Once again, got the birria quesotaco. Consume and their tacos are still very delicious, but today the tacos I got were extra greasy as they really loaded on the cheese today. This two-year-old hole-in-the-wall food truck offers authentic quesotacos with consome, which I was happily surprised to see here on the island since this taco trend has only fairly recently taken California by storm. Get the adobada and birria quesotacos! Both are on par with or even slightly better than what I've had back home in OC. Consomé is tasty and flavorful, but be mindful of ordering more than you need for the tacos bc it's quite overwhelming on its own -- one $2 serving is plenty to share between 2-3 taco orders. Premium seafood options are fish and shrimp; I'd skip the fish bc it was just ok but my bf got the shrimp and said it was one of his favorites.
