    Carne Asada Burrito

The positives first: the service was genuinely friendly, and the food truck itself, along with the lanai....was very clean, welcoming, and well maintained. It's clear pride is taken in the setup and customer experience. Unfortunately, the food missed the mark on this visit. My burrito was less than five minutes old, but when I unwrapped it, it was noticeably cold. That immediately affected the overall experience. The carne asada had a greasy mouthfeel, which may have been amplified by the temperature, and the flavors didn't really come through after that. This may be a case of timing or takeout not translating well. I'd be open to giving it another try and eating onsite to see if the experience improves, because the atmosphere and service suggest it has potential

This cute little taco truck with outdoor seating is nestled between TJ maxx and longs parking lot. The service was fast and friendly. Cash only here... luckily it's right next to bank of Hawaii as I didn't have that much cash on me. I ordered the fish and chicken combo plate $15. The fish and chicken were pretty dry and sadly no cheese or queso fresco. Beans and rice were ok. My husband got the shrimp burrito and steak and birria tacos. He said the shrimp burrito was super ono ! Sadly the tacos were so very plain no cheese. After we dressed it up with the salsa bar options and added our own cheese from home as we got it to go it was good. My picky daughter got the birria quesadilla she liked it. My total was $58 for everything. Not cheap but nothing is in Maui anymore. I believe the salsa bar is the star of the show here. Will be back for the shrimp burrito!

This little taco truck is in a nicely shaded corner off of Puunene Ave. it's in eyeshot of Maui Mall facing the newer Subway location. Friendly service that helps you navigate the extensive Taqueria menu. Birria Tacos are served on a paper plate with 2 pan fried tacos filled with braised red beef, Birria stock, refried beans and rice. You grab a host of condiments in 1 ounce PC cups that can include red and green sauces, onions, cilantro, jalapeños en escabeche, sliced radishes, limes etc... Pick a tiny table under a shade tree and watch out for tiny chicks. Nice little lighted backyard that allows plenty of parking. You can BYOB if you pick up from Longs. Great crisp flavors, simple preparation and just enough for lunch. A few added fried tortilla chips would have been stellar, but are available ala carte as are guacamole or nachos.

Omg what a fantastic mexican food truck in Hawaii. Stopped by for dinner and this place does not disappoint. We ordered their pastor, shrimp tacos & birria taco combos. Everything was delicious but the pastor and shrimp tacos were beyond amazing. The best part about this food truck is their salsa bar where you can add additional sauces and toppings to your tacos. We had their spicy red sauce and green sauce and they were flavorful which just elevated the taste of tacos. Tobi was our server and he was great and service was quick. They have cute little outdoor seating with ambient lights. But these tacos are as authentic as they can get. Highly recommend when in Maui.

I was not impressed. I wanted to support a local business so picked this food truck. I spent 43$ for a two taco plate, burrito and chips. The chips tasted store bought and old. I also ordered one fish taco, one asada taco but got two asadas. Their salsa bar was good which is the one positive thing I'll say. The Food was mediocre for the price and portion size. Would not recommend.

I was leaving TJMaxx looking for a quick lunch and across the carpark I spied this food truck and was intrigued..... I'm always ready for a taco so I wandered over. Wow, what a charming little place they have carved out of the car park! Lights strung above pretty blue chairs, different seating spots hidden in the greenery and a nice deck to relax on. They got me on the pretty decor, never mind the ridiculously good tacos. I decided on one shrimp taco, one fish taco (I don't eat meat) and a side of guac. It arrived quickly on a disposable plate and smelled delicious. While the shrimp was really good, the fish was reminiscent of Rubios, my fave. Both were well seasoned with coleslaw (could have been a little less so it didn't overwhelm the protein) and a good sized portion. The guac was a little different, not so much avocado and a little wet, but really good to dip your tacos in. The salsa bar is the real deal, bright pink tangy pickled onions, sliced radish, the hot sauce was definitely hot, and fresh limes to provide a citrus hit. If it doesn't make you nose run it isn't hot enough :) Lunch hit the taco spot and I'm interested to try their torta and quesadilla in future. The folk serving the food were friendly, greeted everyone, and had a few regulars they knew by name, always a good sign! Great little place in the corner of a car park that delivers authentic Mexican food. Muchas Gracias

Awesome, food was fresh and definitely tasted like Mexican food. Service was good, only downside is that it's cash only.

I was immediately intrigued by the calamansi pork -- an item I had never seen it on a menu before. One bite and I was hooked. The pork was tender and flavorful, and the bright, citrusy calamansi added a unique tang that made the dish completely unforgettable. It was so good that I'm still thinking about it after coming home. We also tried the pancit noodles, pork sisig, and mochiko chicken, and every dish was excellent. The pancit was packed with flavor, the sisig was gelatinous (fir those who are into it), and the mochiko chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and impossible to stop eating. For my first visit to Maui and my first time trying Da Soriano Grindz, this food truck set the bar incredibly high. If you're visiting Maui and want amazing Filipino food that's a little different from what you'll find elsewhere, don't skip this spot. The calamansi pork alone is worth the trip.

The truck itself is fun, painted with bright tropical colors and scenes, and they seem to be known for their loaded tots and bao buns. I placed my order on the touchscreen outside and then sat down to wait for my food. For lunch on this day I went with the buffalo chicken tots and the Island Piggy bao. The menu described the bao as kalua pork, BBQ sauce, tropical salsa, and pickled red onions. The buffalo chicken tots were described as buttermilk fried chicken, buffalo sauce, jack cheddar cheese, house made pickles, and ranch dressing. It took less than 10 minutes for my food to be ready and I sat down at one of the shaded picnic tables. When I opened everything up it all looked good, but I did notice that the tots were missing the house made pickles. I started with the bao and thought it was pretty good. The kalua pork was super juicy and the bao bun was light and fluffy while still holding together well. The pickled onions added a nice acidity and the tropical salsa brought good flavor. The only thing I did not notice much was the BBQ sauce. After that I dug into the tots. The tots themselves were cooked nicely with a crispy outside and soft inside. The chicken was good as well with a nice batter and the buffalo sauce added flavor while the cheese was gooey. The only thing worth noting is that the chicken was softer than expected and not very crispy. It worked since I did have the texture from the crispy tots, but it stood out. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I would probably not order both a bao and tots again as it was a lot of food, but I would definitely come back for one or the other.

We came here twice and I got the 3 bao slider combo each time. - The BAO*CHICKA*BAO*BAO was one of my favorite sandwiches. - My second favorite was the ISLAND PIGGY. I got this both times. - the LITTLE PIGGY was good, but a little overhyped in my opinion. But good to try. - the DUCK DUCK GOAT was wildly disappointing. As you can see in the picture, all meat and almost nothing else. Maybe a few silvers of cabbage. But where's the goat cheese and the fig jam?!? We also got the ALOHA TOTS. Huge portion so that was nice. But the kalua pork was pretty watery and made the crispy tots go soggy pretty fast. Overall a solid spot. Definitely worth trying at least once.

Peeked their Instagram and saw a corned beef and egg grilled cheese sandwich. Say what? Less than 5 minutes later I was texting my order in. Unfortunately, no one actually ever answered my text (please don't tell people to text if you don't reply). Being impatient, I said screw it and just drove myself there to check. They are located in Kahului Industrial in the Ferguson's parking lot, across the way from Lee Bear's. It's a really, really random spot and parking could be a challenge if it gets busy. If it's slow, you could park right in front of the trailer. The family that runs this food trailer is born and raised in Guam and their menu features Chamorro cuisine like arrozcaldo, corn soup, etc. It didn't seem like it to me at first because everything was so so familiar to me, but my friend who was raised in Guam reminded me of how it's heavily Filipino influenced and mentioned that the grilled cheese sandwich was her childhood growing-up. No wonder (I'm Filipino)... Anywho, got my corned beef and egg grilled cheese sandwich! The corned beef isn't like your St. Patty's day corned beef, but more like the Palm brand canned corned beef. The bread was also slightly sweet and was the perfect vessel for all this deliciousness. The sandwich was so tasty and had the perfect amount of meat and cheese. Definitely a great way to start my morning and can't wait to have it again. My friend also recommended trying their corn soup & their red rice whenever it's available. Will definitely try those in the future too.
