After a year of pleasant good quality to fantastic brunch buffets at Festa, this last Thanksgiving (2016) was very disappointing. I don't know if the head chef was on vacation or what, but the food was very sad. It looked like the kitchen staff couldn't have cared less. We were there for brunch the previous Saturday and it was great, as usual. However, Thanksgiving was reminiscent of Golden Corral. Cranberries were nowhere to be found, but another diner said she finally found a bowl of what tasted like canned cranberries over by the salads. Christmas of 2015 they had a large bowl of fantastic cranberry sauce obviously hand made and very tasty, and not the usual recipe. This Thanksgiving the turkey was already cut up and smashed into a steam table pan , not looking very appetizing. They have a carving station with ham and prime rib, so why not add the Turkey to that for Thanksgiving? The carvers weren't at all busy. Because of our experience at Thanksgiving, we skipped Festa for Christmas, but we will try it again. Wait staff is always courteous and helpful. read more

My wife and I have been coming to casino del sol buffet on Thursday dinner for many times. Seafood buffet was good, but food quality was going down lately. Service is going from bad to worst. Start from cashiers, they always seen unhappy and lack of respect to customers. The whole buffet seen very chaotic. I had had average and below average experiences there when I went before. When I saw they had a Thanksgiving Buffet, I felt it would be a great time to not have to worry about cooking and cleaning, for this occasion. I called a few days before to see if they took reservations, but they don't. Understandable. Buffet started at 11 am. My kids and I got there at 1 pm. There was a line... Again, understandable. It took us ONE HOUR AND FORTY FIVE minutes to get to the restaurant. Not only that, there was a couple who walked up straight to the window, paid, and were seated without having to wait. Everyone greeted them nicely so I assumed they knew them very well... maybe even be employees. So we let it go... Now the food... I was expecting (was it bad of me, when I saw "Thanksgiving Buffet"?) to find turkeys and hams being carved on site, different types of side dishes common of a Thanksgiving feast.... But NO SUCH LUCK. Barely some turkey that was already cut up, you couldn't even see what part of the turkey it was... mashed potatoes, gravy, the green beans were whole and very chewy. I couldn't even cut them with the fork. Some sort of creamed yams, some brussel sprouts, some runny cranberry concoction... There was sushi, some dry prime rib, a dry ham, the bread was chewy, there was charcuterie, olives, etc. In no way did it resemble a "thanksgiving buffet." So to make the best use of my money I got some crab legs.... I could not eat them. They were completely tasteless. I've had way better crab legs at other much less expensive restaurants. The bread was so chewy, even my teenage son was not able to eat it. I am extremely disappointed and I will not be coming back. Way overpriced for the quality of food. read more

$25 per person. For that kind of money, the decor needs an overhaul, the servers need training in how to actually provide service and the food? Well there are lots of choices. We were there on Saturday night for the Luau. Some of the food was delicious, meaning the freshly prepared lamb and roast, the potstickers cooked at the station as well. The desserts, while plentiful, were dull and stale. Obviously not made fresh. You shouldn't serve a freshly roasted Lamb and the offer cheap commercial bulk desserts. Plus a glass of wine will be extra, so I went with the flavorless Ice Tea instead. The inconsistency here was glaring. A few freshly prepared delicious dishes alongside a bunch of wholesale boxed food heated (in some cases not enough) up. Will not eat there again. Too bad, as the hotel and casino are quite nice. read more

My husband and I did the brunch buffet on christmas day here, what an over-priced disappointment! It wasn't worth half of the $35/pp + tax/tip we paid, especially with no complimentary mimosas. The selection was broad and attractively displayed, but the quality and preparation of the food was totally YUCKY! The crab legs were so overcooked and rubbery they were difficult to break into to get at the meat. The ham was also cold and rubbery, and while the prime rib was juicy it tasted like something that had been recently underwarmed in a microwave oven. The sushi was also chewy and had a funny taste. Absolutely no return trip here ever. And the servers all looked like they were recruited from the trailer park down the road. read more

we were at del sol for a concert and the husband's entire family wanted to do a casino outing. before we left for AVA, we came to festa buffet for dinner. i don't know how much the buffet was because my mother-in-law treated us. the food is alright. you definitely can eat a lot at this place. the wait staff was quick to take our drink order and bring us silverware. i probably should have started with a different choice, but i really wanted pasta. i stood at the pasta bar for probably about 6-7 minutes before the cook acknowledged me. i understand and i can see that he was putting together a pizza to go into the oven, but at the very least, let your customers know that you'll be right with them. so when he finally came over to ask me what kind of pasta i would like i was growing very impatient. by the time i got my penne pasta and sat back at the table, the rest of the family was on their seconds. i wasn't very hungry and didn't eat much after i had my pasta. perhaps next time i'll try something different. read more

Went in for dinner. Food was just OK. Most it it had been out for at least 30 minutesit looked like. I tried their tamales, the green chili tamale was pretty good. The beef tasted like it had been sitting there for a day at least, dry and hard. The short ribs in red chili was fairly good, but mostly bones and little meat left. Would not try again. read more

Seafood Buffet - not too bad but simple variety of sushi (so, so), crab legs (disappointed that they are now serving cheaper SNOW crab) and not Alaskan King Crab as shown in the Casa Del Sol advertisement. They do offer a nice variety of shrimp, oysters, salmon, roast beef, Italian dishes, etc. Desert and basic drinks are included. I'm a big Alaskan Crab fan, so still hurting....but probably will return. Did receive discounts for seniors, and ex-military. read more

Ate at the Seafood Buffet last night- it was incredible! They had grilled snow crab legs, steamed king crab legs, grilled boneless New York steaks, melt in your mouth prime rib all made to perfection! The list goes on and on. They have a Chinese and Italian- pastas, pizza stations which I did not try but looked great. I mainly ate all the protein dishes to avoid getting full. They had grilled veggies, salads, clam chowders and an endless dessert station. For $25.00 it has to be the best buffet in town. We complemented our meal with their $3.00 house wine- a very generous pour and quite decent! We will return. read more

First off, the price you pay is just not worth it! Me and my husband and have gone twice-once last year for a brunch and then last week for lunch. The first time we had went the breakfast food was just so unappealing. And to top it off, the bacon which is one of mybfavorite things for breakfast was disgusting and so salty! The waiter i had was alright though. Now this past week, we had went again because we were coming back from a friends house so we decided to stop in. The food looked better, and some tasted better but not by much. Our biggest dissapointment was our waitress(Josephine). She was not being people friendly, she was just refilling our drinks as we drank not saying hello or any conversation what so ever. But she was very conversational to her waitress and waiter friends, apparently she got out at 4:30 (we got there at 3:45 ) and was saying how she can't wait and etc. she seemed like she hated being there, which affected her customer service. First time dining at the Festa buffet at casino del Sol...and it will be my last ! Paid over $60 for the two of us and soooo not worth it . Tried the rice,salmon,rockfish,chicken...all these items were average in taste, slightly warm in temperature and tasted like it had been sitting out for a while. Took my family to eat here but the place and food was not great. First off the price was different than what was advertised on their outside menu. The price said $28 but it was actually $35. The selection is minimal and the food was dry. For that price you should have a huge selection of food but really there is only about 5 stations. Don't know if I would go again but since it's in Casino del Sol I might try a different restaurant inside instead. read more

Just got home from the Thursday night seafood buffet and want everyone to know that the food is very good, service is good as well. However, the management needs to know how disorganized the payment line and cashiers are. The VIP line vs. the regular line is totally mis-managed. We waited an hour in the regular line and people were getting in the VIP line WITHOUT the VIP cards and were being processed thru just because they were in that line. People were getting really upset to see the cashiers allow these people through. We never once saw a manager come over and see why the regular line was so delayed in paying. We refuse to go back to such chaos. read more

I have been there for seafood night and brunch. If you want to save money on brunch just go to golden corral. i mean the seafod is cold and i dont want cold crab legs. honestly the only good thing about brunch was the smoothies!!!!! i had like 4 of them! everything else was meh. the server was rarely at our table and i think she quit because we never saw her again after the second refill. the seafood buffet is good i guess. paying 20something dollars i expect more from just 5 dishes to choose from. At the end of the day i have gone back and everytime im always eh about the outcome. but you at least have to try it once. read more

So We returned to this buffet one last time to see if anything changed since our last visit about a year ago. We arrived at about 1:30 during the lunch session. We paid $15 a person. Sat down. I went to the buffet; took a plate; walked around; and was appalled at the food. Even worse than 1 year ago. No more orange chicken or pot stickers. No egg rolls. Stale looking spring rolls only. You could see the food had been out for quite some time. Then I walked to the Italian area. Chef-Boy-RD style pizzas (mostly puffy bread crust and dried tomato sauce) just laying out. You could tell it was stale and cold. Pasta bar looked bad. Sauces looked like Rague Alfredo and tomato sauces. The other areas were no better. Greasy baked or rotisserie chicken that looked like it was dripping with mucus or something. Turkey was dried out. Pork loin had been sitting out for Lord knows how long. Staff all dressed up like Chefs but standing around like idiots. I would be ashamed to work serving the garbage they serve. Choices were extremely poor and sub-par. Your best bet is to save your money and go down the road to the to the QT Mart. The food is better than this. We will NEVER return. We didn't eat. We went to the cashier and got our money back and left. If you like to eat cottage cheese and a biscuit for $15, go ahead and knock yourself out. Anyone giving this buffet 3,4,5 stars is either stupid, or they enjoy eating something that is just a step above dog crap. You've been warned. read more

My husband and I tried the Sunday brunch yesterday and were mostly satisfied. I tend to go for the basics - eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy and eggs Benedict being my usual choices, and I can generally only handle one plateful before I'm stuffed. All of those thing were top-notch except the Benedict, because what looked like eggs Benny was actually salmon on a croissant with a poached egg and Hollandaise. The croissant didn't hold up to all the moisture, and I'm not a big fan of salmon, but that said it was still pretty tasty. I (barely) managed to stuff down some Bananas Foster for dessert and it was heavenly. My husband liked the shrimp tempura, the BBQ pork, a concoction of salmon and shrimp marinated in what tasted like pico de gallo (but was clear in color - no idea what it was, but it was yummy), and most of the desserts he tried. He thought the crab legs were just so-so and didn't care for the quinoa at all. The coffee was excellent - something that always surprises and pleases me. read more

More selection, including oysters on the half shell, choice of steamed or cold crab legs, and even sushi! Floor was filthy in the food service area.....food and s serving utensil were on the floor......food was spilled over the edges of the serving area. The waitress never showed up to take our drink order; after 30 minutes, I found a manager to take our order. My husband and I always try to eat at casinos when out of town, and I found this one listed for Tucson.( we come each year for the Gem Fair). We have a wonderful casino buffet in San Diego county (CA)' named Barona. This has been our favorite for Year's, but the Festa buffet really gives it a run for it's money! Although not a large buffet, what food there is is all great. Whatever we chose, we liked. The Asian section was EXCELLENT, as was the carving station...try the brisket! The salad bar was really good. Everything, including the desert bar (calories!) was excellent as far as we are concerned. So good, that two of our nine dinners in Tucson were spent at the Festa Buffet. We both HIGHLY recommend this place! read more
