My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful experience tonight at Fiamme. Our server Bree was fantastic! We sat in one of the outside huts that look like green houses. It was decorated so well and we felt like we were in a winter wonderland. We felt very COVID safe--everyone had masks on and the hut was heated but there was ventilation. And oh, by the way, the food was delicious! I had the chicken parmigiana which was so good and my husband had the sausage rigatoni which he enjoyed. The chocolate lava cake was amazing! Recently we ordered 2 pizzas from here for pickup. They did not even put cheese on it & had no taste/flavor. It was just baked dough with toppings. Worst tasting pizza/experience we've ever had. We threw out the whole thing. On top of this, we called 3 times and talked to the manager, who agreed to give credit for it, but we never got it. I guess they decided to make some free money. I liked this place! My daughter and I went to visit North Central College in Naperville. We decided to try this local restaurant. We started out with Calamari, which was interesting. Instead of just an order of Calamari they served it with arugula, cherry tomatoes in a light lemon sauce. It was really good. I had a wonderful salad with mixed greens, walnuts, and gorgonzola (It may have been a daily special because I don't see it on the menu) My daughter had three cheese stuffed tortellini in a light cream sauce. The desert was amazing, it was fried dough with two different sauces (chocolate and strawberry) drizzled on top. It also had three dollops of fresh whipped cream. The waitress was amazing. She was attentive and cheerful. Fiamme is noted for their brick oak fired pizza's so I think I'll go back and try that next time. read more

This restaurant is tasty! Deven, our server, ended a dispute between my husband and me on how to pronounce Bruschetta the right way and yes I won. It's BrusChetta (with a hard C). Deven was kind, attentive, personable, and overall great at her job! There wasn't any time where we were waiting for her to come to our table or anything. She even brought us more bread for our Bruschetta before we could even ask for more bread! That's fantastic! The Bruschetta needs a little more acidic Balsamic Vinegar, however, still very delicious. We've also ordered "The Butcher" Neapolitan Pizza which packed a lot of flavor and ended our dining experience with the Tiramisu which was fantastic. It was a perfect tiramisu. It had the right amount of coffee, chocolate, mascarpone , and cake. We made reservations so we were seated rather quickly. Overall impression: Great dining experience! Have been here many times and had adequate service and good food. Also ordered take out many times. I attempted to order a pizza this evening and was told that the topping I have ordered every time I go is not a topping. I attempted to clarify, and was put on hold. Unfortunately the employee did not put me on hold and proceeded to call me a "hissy" and asked another employee how much extra to charge me. I heard a male voice say "just charge her $5.00". They both laughed and the girl picked up the phone and asked who I was. When I told her I was the "hissy" she was just talking about she said "ummm" and hung up on me. I called back and she hung up on me again. I called again and spoke to someone else and asked to speak to a manager and was put on hold and told that the GM, Preston, was too busy to speak with me but I was welcome to send an email. I always try to treat restaurant employees well because I know it's a difficult job with little pay. But I do expect to be treated decently in return. Where do I start? Came here to celebrate 2 birthdays. Air conditioning was barely working, so it was really stuffy. Sat down, and some of our group didn't have phones, so we had to ask for menus-many, many times. Both my husband and my water glasses had crusted on food in them. I just didn't use mine, my husband asked for a new one-new glass was just as dirty. Water to pour into our cups from wine bottles was warm-and there was no ice in it or the cups. It wasn't even room temperature, it was actually warm. Appetizer (which we've had before) was supposed to be cheese stuffed meatballs. Meatballs were much smaller and not one was stuffed. We were told the cheese can ooze out when cooking, but every meatball, and ALL the cheese? No. It seemed like they ran out and used regular meatballs as a replacement. They didn't taste good either. We were sat w not enough silverware, and had to get up to get more ourselves. Waiter was nice, but seemed very nervous and not know how to handle anything. Manager seemed to be the most competent, and was nice, but experience continued to go downhill even after we asked him about the meatballs. (We originally asked our waiter, but he looked like a deer in headlights and said uh hang on and ran to get manager). We had to ask for things multiple times. Asked for salt, instead of bringing a shaker they literally brought us a bowl of salt-um, huh? When making reservation it was noted we were celebrating the birthdays, but before we even ordered our meal the wait staff brought desserts w candles over to the table next to us, who looked confused. Then they turned to us to give us the dessert, and we had to say huh? We haven't even ordered our meal yet! They took it away, and when it was time to get our meals, pasta sauce was extremely watery, chicken was tasteless, etc. Most of us were not fans of our meals, and we have all ordered these same meals in years past and they've been excellent. Everything has gone downhill. When we were done, we opted to skip the birthday dessert as we had the feeling it was prob just brought in back sitting out waiting to be brought back to us. Bought the funghi pizza, it's 12 inches and I had no choice but to eat it all because of how tasty it was. I'm not 100% sure what neopolitan style pizza should be like but whatever it is this pizza should be the golden standard. Just perfect, soft, light and fluffy crust with high quality juicy mozzarella(I think) cheese and red sauce. Me and my friends all thoroughly enjoyed our pizzas and it wasn't even extremely expensive either. All around a fantastic place and their COVID rules were reasonable and I felt no danger to myself, staff wore masks and they had tables spaced out. Overall it was terribly disappointing and not worth the price. As soon as we walked in there was no room to stand and wait for a table. The table we were seated at had been cleared for at least ten minutes before they started setting it for us. Our waitress came to take our drink orders and there's no drink list to be found on the menu and they don't offer to tell you. When they brought us our appetizer and the bottles of olive oil they didn't explain what the two different kinds were which was offputting since one has red pepper. We weren't offered new plates for our pizza besides the fact that the plates are rather small. The restaurant looks nice until you look upward where there are large metal pipes running the length of ceiling that, in my opinion, ruins the atmosphere. My wife and I, and another couple, came to eat Sunday dinner at Fiamme for the 1st time, and were very pleased with our initial experience. We were greeted courteously, and immediately escorted to our preference, a booth in the back corner. Our server, Karis, provided our preferred level of service, attentive without being intrusive, and her warm manner and infectious smile added significantly to our positive experience. Our friend has a dairy allergy, and our server accomodated her very well, and appeared to be very concerned that her courses contained only goat cheese. All the salads and pizzas tasted very fresh, and all 4 of us very much enjoyed the pizzas that we ordered. Right before our pizzas were delivered, Karis clued us in on dipping the pizza crusts in the 2 olive oils provided. The crusts are absolutely delicious plain, but dipping them into that pepper-infused olive oil from another local vendor, was a great addition to our dining experience. We ordered the less expensive Chianti, let it breathe for ~ 15 minutes before drinking it, and were rewarded with a very respectable wine that complimented both our salads AND our pizzas. We have already set a date to return to Fiamme, and if Karis is working that night, we are definitely going to request her as our server again. Can't wait to come back! read more

So I was trying out something new at fiamme. I came across this vegan spaghetti and meatballs. I ordered it and had not very high expectations, but once the food came I tried it and they exceeded my expectations. They were very good and I'd say they are better than actual meatballs. My son requested this place for his sweet 16 birthday dinner. We had been once before and even though we enjoyed the food the first time, the service was meh - that was about a year ago. This time we had pretty good service even though they were short-staffed. I wasn't told that, I had just observed that. So we had to wait once they got busy. I wasn't in that much of a hurry so it was ok. I get it, it happens. I used to be a server/cocktail waitress/bartender. At the end of the meal, the server came by and just did a sweep. Didn't ask how things were. If she had, I would have said my baked ziti was underwhelming. It didn't have much flavor except for a smelly type of cheese, the noodles were overcooked, and there was very little chicken - only 5-6 little semi-charred 1/2" pieces of diced chicken. I did get 5 shrimp which was acceptable. But for that price, I did not get a full breast of chicken? Or any other vegetables, not even a complimentary salad? That's pretty crappy and not worth that cost! I also couldn't eat much of it because it was like eating a pile of melted smelly cheese and that's it. I like melted smelly cheese but this was just too much. My husband's dish was lackluster and for the price the dish was small. After my disappointing meal, we paid for all 2 desserts as well. The desserts tasted good. However, when I go to an "Italian" restaurant, I'd like the traditional presentation of tiramisu. What we got was in a sundae-type glass all mushed in there. No.... Tiramisu aficionados want the traditional presentation of being able to see the layers of espresso soaked lady fingers. This meal experience was not even worth half of its actual monetary value. I would eat pizza nine days a week and twice on Tuesday, so when my girlfriend suggested we try Fiamme out I was all for it. Fiamme is definitely worth the trip for anyone looking for more sophisticated pizza. We were seated roughly 30 minutes before our reservation, which I thought was really nice. For drinks, I tried the Fiamme Manhattan and she got a glass of prosecco. I'm not a huge bourbon fan, but decided to try this drink and it was good! I think bourbon lovers would appreciate it more than I would, since I'm more of a rum and beer guy. But, can't sue me for trying to class things up a bit. We got the fried calamari as an appetizer and it was pretty tasty. The calamari rings are a bit small, but that's probably because the calamari comes with arugula and cherry tomatoes on the plate. Portion size was actually pretty big for two people, but I wasn't complaining. Calamari had good crunch and the lemon vinaigrette gave it a unique flavor that you traditionally don't get with calamari. For pizza, I got The Butcher, which came with sausage, pepperoni, pancetta and prosciutto. I got regular crust, while she got a pizza with the fried crust. You can definitely taste the difference between the pizze fritte and the regular crust, and I lean to the fried crust slightly. The pizza is in the style of Napoli, so the inside is thin and floppy while the crust is puffy. The pizza tasted great and my favorite part might have actually been the sauce, which I didn't expect. The sausage was easily the tastiest meat on the pizza, but I didn't care for the pepperoni as much. Both pizzas were really good. The Napoli style plus the generous amount of meat on each slice sort of made the pizza a bit difficult to eat without a fork and knife. But, that's the nature of that kind of pizza, so I didn't really mind. I had a very tough time picking which pizza to get. The variety on the menu is great and you can put red sauce on most of their white pizzas and vice versa. That made my decision even tougher. I'll probably try something different the next time we go. If you check in on Yelp you get a free Sophia Grazie dessert, which is fried dough drizzled with strawberry and chocolate sauce. Pretty simple and tasty, but I was so full I didn't eat much of it. The interior is pretty cool with dark colors. It's a small, intimate place. It also can get kind of loud in there as it seems the wonderful people of Naperville aren't afraid to have a good time! Our server was really friendly and knew the menu. Overall she was great. My Manhattan took a little while to arrive, but she was aware and made sure I got it soon. Not a big deal at all. Overall, I will definitely be back to Fiamme and I'll probably need a month or two just to decide which pizza I'll get there next! Just spent 100$ on a takeout order, so incredibly disappointed. The pizza was very underdone, gummy. The arugula salad was made 3 days ago,(I think) . The bread in the stuffed meatballs was stale. The pasta in the sausage dish was so over cooked it was mushy. It was unbelievable. We want to support this restaurant, but most of the meal went into the garbage. Nice place and great ambiance. They even had some one singing there on a Saturday night. Staff was prompt and nice. Restaurant was very clean. We started off by getting the lemon wings...they were okay. Basically tasted like wings soaked in Italian dressing and squirted with lemon. The pizza wasn't that great.
