If you're a pickle lover you must look for these! It's a mix of flavor and doesn't taste like 1 type of pickle. It's worth the big jar!

Great little local shop in Boerne to pop into if you're passing through town. There was a wonderful…read moreselection of local items, including lots of tasty-looking food items that would make wonderful gifts to grab for the holidays. I was grateful to find some beautiful locally-made pieces, including a mug that I still use on a regular basis. The ladies working there on the day I visited were also incredibly friendly and helpful, which was a nice touch. Parking out front of the shop was easy, and the prices were more than reasonable. Definitely recommend if you find yourself in the area and want to pick up a few things to remember your visit by!

I visited this shop at the recommendation of a friend who has shopped here for years. What a gem!…read more Unique finds, tasty treats, and amazing customer service (shout-out to Stephanie who helped me with my selections) resulted in a delightful visit. Whether you are looking to add a little something extra to an evening night meal, or wanting to create a special appetizer, this place has a good assortment of truffles, great-smelling soaps, lotions and candles, and loads of sauces, seasonings, dips, etc. that are sure to please. Another thing I really like is that the owner makes an effort to support other Hill Country businesses. Many of the items sold here are the creation of other local entrepreneurs. Don't wait, stop by today. #SupportLocalBusinesses

You'd never think that a town like Boerne would feature a wine bar with such a diverse and…read moreexcellent selection, you'd be wrong. Cork & Keg is one of those rare gems that somehow marries the warmth of the hill country with what is often snobbery among wine-os. It manages to be welcoming to the newly initiated (i.e. just 21) and the more seasoned patrons, providing something for everyone with a selection that boasts excellent vintages from both near and far. If you're lucky enough to sit at the bar you may find yourself with one of the regulars open for good chat over a glass of their favorite on the list, or inspired to try something new. Don't be afraid to ask the staff their recommendations, as they are both knowledgeable and friendly, making the wine list as approachable as they are. Don't be afraid to go for your own custom flight as there are too many good wines to miss out on. The best part is, if you're not a wine fan, they have other offerings including beer, sake, and mimosas! It's my favorite stop when I'm in town and I've added new favorites to the list as well as snagged bottles to take back out of state for others to enjoy.

#1 must visit place in Boerne. I'm telling ya' - Go here!…read more This is a continuation of my review of the Richter tavern. Walking up stairs, the owner pointed out old bricks he found and used during the bars renovation. At the top of the stairs, a massive mirrored turn of the century bar awaited with mixologists wearing kilts! Yes kilts. It was here I saw a tiny bourbon barrel and ordered an old fashioned. Truly delightful- I had 2. I learned how Kendal county was created by a man named Kendall because he brought Scotsman and sheep over and developed a highly successful economy with wool. He showed us black and white photos of the same mirrored bar we were drinking at 36 years apart and with the same bartender who apparently lived in this area bartending his whole life. My wife had a cucumber lily and I had a whiskey something chill that was slightly orange favored, unique cocktails you can only get here. I learned the bartenders were really good. One had worked in Vegas and the other cut his teeth with descendants of Makers mark who taught him his skills. At the time of this post, it was near May 4th so They also had a life size Darth Vader, stormtrooper in a kilt and R2D2 light. Guy encouraged us to visit the restrooms. Inside were old black/white pictures of convicts and small blurbs about their crime written in gold foil on a black background- kind of Noir. Also running was a projector showing silent films. There were at least 2 of them in different places. Guy told us about the exclusive membership on the 3rd floor, accessible by an artistically designed red door with various half circles to an elevator. And I don't think he could help himself -he offered to show us the 3rd floor. Now, both the 1st and 2nd floor venues are impressive, and the 2nd floor out charms the first in my opinion, but the 3rd floor is simply Mega-cool magnificent. Recessed lighting throughout, a large print of Wonder Woman's face stood out on one wall next to a long well stocked bar, and leather furniture of a forgotten but classic era was Uber comfortable. And they have an outdoor patio with a great view. They had a floor to ceiling wine shelf with different names of clientele that ensure their preferred beverages are in stock. This is how the other side lives and I was fortunate and honored to get a glimpse of it. If you're still reading this awfully long review, I'll give you a 1-word summary od this entire place. IMPRESSIVE. And since Darth Vader is here too, I'll add "Most Impressive" Go. Thank you Guy for making our 16th anniversary most memorable and enjoyable. We'll certainly be back!
