Poke 3 protein bowl
taylor m.

Flavor bomb Sunday morning! My husband and I decided to give Mai Maui Cafe a try today in Silverdale for takeout. We wanted to try breakfast but also reaaaaaallllly wanted poke for later when we watch the game so we placed a pretty big order! I had the Kalua Pork Benny. When I tell you this Kalua Pork made me feel like I was back in Kona... 10/10 for flavor, cook, no dryness, perfect amount of hollandaise, and perfectttttly medium poached eggs. My husband got the Smoked Salmon Benny which was just as fresh and delicious. For our poke we each got a 3 protein bowl, salmon, ahi, eel... He got some spicy options I got the Hawaiian options. Super packed on top of white rice with furikake. It was quite a bit of a wait even though no one was there when we walked in a little after 9, I think we were one of the first customers of the day so no worries for that. If you have kiddos plan ahead as it took about an hour to get our food but it was very very worth it and they're brand new so give them some grace. Lovely customer service and they got packed after we arrived so I'm sure they'll get into the rhythm soon. 1000/10 recommend giving them a try!

I was happy with this place! They have only been open for 1 week. There was a pretty consistent flow of people during our visit. Seating is for tables of 2 or 4. The cute artwork on the wall was done by her family. We ordered coffee, Kalua pork eggs Benedict and Kalua pork moco Loco. The food is so delicious! Perfect portion sizes and very reasonable pricing. I was looking forward to trying the Ube waffles, but her waffle machine was broken. She will be replacing it soon, so it will be back on the menu shortly. I did request a specialty coffee be made with the Ube mascarpone sauce that is served with the waffles. I liked it, gave some feedback and hopefully that will be on the menu in the future! Service was fine, again she's only been open a week. I look forward to going back. Breakfast is only served to 1:00 and poke starts being served at noon. Is it worth the drive?...yes

I've heard great things about the breakfast, especially the ube waffles, so I brought the littles on Sunday. We were greeted right away and chose a cute table with enough seats for all of us. The service was a little slow, but since there was only one, it's understandable. The server was very sweet and brought waters and menus as soon as she could. We ordered the spam Benny, kalua loco moco, ube waffle, acai bowl and 2 watermelon Italian sodas with popping boba and whipped cream. The only complaints I have are that my egg whites were undercooked on my loco moco and the ube marscapone didn't have enough ube flavor. In spite of the little hiccups, we will be back.

This place is still new. Owner is extremely nice and welcoming. She's still working on the menu but so far what I have had is delicious! Table seating inside sits 2 or 4 people.

Kalua Eggs Benedict

The food was absolutely demolished within minutes. They have a sign mentioning that each plate is made fresh to order, so plan a for a relaxed paced meal. Everything was super ONO! We had the Kalua Benny and the Spam/Turkey Sausage Loco Deluxe with a Teriyaki Spam Musubi.

Local Deluxe: Furikake rice, mayak eggs, and teriyaki spam. Mexican Mocha

I had the local deluxe with some ube mochi waffles and a Mexican mocha. I loved the taste of everything. First time having mexican mocha it wasn't too hot to where it burned my tongue. It was quite comforting, tasted like hot chocolate. Wasn't overly sweet and couldn't really taste the espresso(which is what I prefer). Loved the topping of the seaweed and sesame seeds on top of the rice, the jammy eggs were well marinated, and the teriyaki spam was good. The ube mochi waffles were pretty good too. I will say that the food was more on the luke warm side and I wish that it was served hot and that I would like for Mai Maui Cafe to have more items on there menu for lunch hours like sandwiches or poke bowls. Other than that I would recommend.

Mai Maui Cafe is a bright Silverdale escape! Warm people, ONO food. The big windows, warm smiles and island music made my blood pressure drop while the food filled my soul. Mahalo, Mai Maui Cafe!!

Smoked salmon benedict and ube waffle

My hubby and I came in on a late Saturday morning for brunch and were welcomed by lovely Hawaiian music playing in the background. The service was excellent- we got to choose where to sit and we ordered an oat milk latte, coconut milk chai, smoked salmon benedict and the ube waffle. It was all delicious and was the perfect portion. If you miss Hawaii and want the taste, vibe and hospitality come to Mai Maui we'll be back soon!!

Acai Bowl

It was a nice and cozy restaurant. Loved the decor that made me think of back home in Hawaii. Service was excellent! You could feel the Aloha spirit! The menu was limited. My daughter and I ordered 3 things. First of all the Kalua Loco Moco was awesome, especially when you order extra gravy. They make their own savory Kalua Pig. They made it with poached eggs which was a twist, but it worked. Next, the Ube Mochi Waffles. I was disappointed. You could taste the mochi in the waffle, but I guess I was expecting an ube syrup. What I did not like at all was the blueberries on top! In my opinion it just didn't go with the mochi waffles. Last, we ordered the Açaí bowl. Acai was great with the different fruits on it. However, there was no FRESH strawberries, they used frozen strawberries and blueberries should come with it at no extra cost. We hope the menu expands in the future and thank you for bringing home to Silverdale!

The Ube waffle was really good but the wait was too much to get our food and it was really expensive.

You would think that if you move to a new location, you'd want people to find where you are located, and you'd want to be open long enough to sell some product. Cafe Kai's food is very good but their location is terrible and their hours are horrendous. I certainly hope the owners at Café Kai will read this review and maybe they'll pull the heads out of their rear end and stay open longer and perhaps make a couple of signs showing the secret hideout where they have moved. They're expensive, but the old adage "you get what you pay for" definitely applies to Blackbird. You may pay more than you might somewhere else, but their quality is exceptional. Today I stopped by for one of their quiches--their spinach and goat cheese--and a lemon blueberry scone. Both were super yummy. I often get one of their chais too, which are also quite tasty (and not at all dry, a common problem with scones). Having Blackbird downtown makes it quite convenient to just stop by while on the way to elsewhere. But sometimes it can be a destination if...you can find seating, which is at a premium most of the day.

It's clear this was the case for others as well, as there was a large line extending outside the door onto the sidewalk when we arrived around 10:00 a.m. I ordered their multigrain toast with jam along with a savory croissant. The toast comes heavily buttered and the savory croissant for the day was topped with the fillings you'd fine in a spanakopita -- i.e. spinach and feta. I really loved the thickness of the toast slice and the degree that they toasted it: soft and fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. They did not hold back from including a bunch of seeds in the bread, and that added a nice texture in every bite. The jam is on the sweeter side, but I like that it's on the side so you can control exactly how much sweetness you want to add. The savory croissant had good flakiness to it, but it would have been nice if we had an option to have it toasted. Overall, very good bakery that I'd gladly visit again if I'm back on Bainbridge Island. Definitely get the toast.

The breakfast sandwiches are so good! Fresh cooked eggs and biscuits. The biscuits are so flaky and light and good!! The bottom is soft, but the tops have a crisp to them. I got the sausage egg and cheese. The egg was cooked perfectly, biscuit was superior to a lot of biscuits I've had in restaurants and the gochujang aioli on top was the perfect compliment!! It wasn't spicy, but still added so much flavor. I had a special soda made by Marisa with lime, mint, lychee and soda water. Very simple, but very satisfying and not overly sweet. The chairs are comfortable and there's ample seating. The booths have outlets at each table area which makes it super convenient for laptops and chargers. The crowd is mixed. Young and older people mill about. People were having meetings, chatting with friends and working just like me. It's not sketchy and felt totally safe. 10/10 recommend.
