This salon is a rip off. I was charged $60 for a gel mani and regular pedi. The lady who did my nails took long breaks in between and during my time there. Most of her time was done elsewhere and not on my nails. I then paid with debit where the option for a tip was taken off the receipt. I was then told to take out money from their over charging ATM machine in the back to give a tip. I kindly asked her to take the tip out of the overpriced service I was just charged for. Two staff women were great, the others don't really care. They offer the service S&S for your nails. With that service, they are not suppose to put your hands under the UV light. I didn't know that until I received the complete professional S&S somewhere else. At Fierce Spa they have a very limited selection of S&S colors and the reason they put me under UV light is because they finish the job as a gel manicure. I was being misinformed and their prices are not cheap. The location was convenient for me but I will never come back. read more

This spa deserves the star for the ambience. The place is very fancy and upscale. However, the prices are ridiculous. I paid $165 for a gel mani and pedi with almond tips. My nails looked so sloppy at the end of the manicure. There was glue and polish everywhere. I dont see what the extra charge was for. For $165, I was expecting perfection. The job was amateur at best. The staff was nice and polite. The equipment that they used looked like it came from the dollar store. You know those packs that give you the little nail clippers and the tiny nail file and square buffer? Yes, those. The tools were very low quality. My main complaint about this establishment is that the quality of the work did not match the price. I've had more professional-looking manicures and pedicures for MUCH less money. I expressed my disappointment to the staff which resulted in 40 additional minutes of the nail tech working around my already dried nails. I love this place for mani/pedi. They take their time and are really thorough. Not one fingertip or toe will be neglected during the cleaning/scraping/scrubbing process. You'll really feel pampered - without paying crazy pampering prices, and without being propositioned to get add-on services you didn't want. Overall very cute concept and cute atmosphere. Great for he neighborhood! Nancy was very detailed and made sure to not rush and do a good job. This was my first time at Fierce spa and the gentleman greeting me was so very friendly and kind. However I had three things I would change : 1) The pedicure seat isn't very comfortable nor is the sink that you rest your feet on. The back part of the chair doesn't have much cushion. The sink is an award angle and a hard place to rest your foot. 2) The one lady (I believe is the owner based on photos and articles that were hanging) was extremely short and not friendly. She Wouldn't crack a smile was very short just showed her face when it was time to pay and not very nice or informative either. 3) I had a groupon which is an amazing deal! The owner popped over without saying hello or introducing herself and asked for my groupon in the middle of my pedicure. I said sure and I handed her my phone . She then disappeared for like 5 minutes with my phone. When she came back she handed me the phone without a thank you or anything. I asked if everything was alright and she said yeah and walked away. When I got done I tipped Nancy, but then the owner popped back out to ask me to pay for tax. There was nothing in the fine print about paying tax separately. Not a big deal it's only 3 dollars but again she was very short and rude. Not once did she ask how was everything or crack a smile. Mind you the place is very very slow she wasn't busy so I'm not sure her reason for being so short but she needs to really work on that. I want to bring back my mother and friends but the owner really needs to improve her attitude. It takes one negative experience for people to not come back. Word of mouth is a beautiful yet powerful thing. Went there for the first time today and was very pleased with my experience. I got a pedicure and gel manicure, and they both turned out great. I loved their selection of nail polish -- a lot of really pretty colors. The decor is also really cute, they play some fun music, and the staff was very sweet. The only reason I didn't give them five stars was because, although they were all very sweet, they were also very slow. :) So just give yourself a little time if you are planning on going here. So I've been meaning to try this nail salon since it opened. I'm in a destination wedding next weekend and I needed a mani-pedi. I'm VERY rough on my nails so I thought that this would be an opportune time to try gel nails. I walked in - it wasn't very busy - but it took staff a while to greet me. Not good since lots of people were on the floor not working. I asked how much a gel mani and gel pedi would cost. I was quoted a reasonable price and escorted over to get my pedicure. The ambiance is great - it's super cute, the music was fun. The girl that did my pedicure was nice - she didn't do a very thorough job of cleaning under my toenails. By the time I got to the end of the pedicure - (which took a VERY long time) I realized that she didn't do gel. I told her that I'd asked for gel and she looks at me blankly and just says that she's going to do it on my nails. I don't argue because at this point I've already been there so damn long I'm just ready to go home. So she starts my manicure ... no soaking in water or hand massage which is pretty standard. No cleaning under my nails or brushing them. She doesn't even ask me to wash my hands before she starts the process. The gel came out nice but overall the experience just wasn't good quality. If you're in a pinch I guess this place gets the job done but I'm willing to pay more or go a little further to get an experience that's less mediocre. I won't be returning which is unfortunate because this place is a five minute walk from my house and I try to make a habit of frequenting businesses in the neighborhood. It's been my experience that customer service in New York is practically non-existent -- everyone does the minimum and delivers services as though they're doing you a favor. This place was no exception. How do you just not give me the service that I asked for? Oh well. cute salon? yes. do they offer nail art, a rarity in east harlem? yes. however, they're overpriced and you can feel the fakeness. 5 dollars for nail repair, other places are $3... $25 for a fill in, and right down the street, fill ins cost $14, AND THE QUALITY OF WORK IS THE SAME... the upwards of 40% markup, above market value (literally 2 avenues away the price is markedly lower) is not justified with their service. everyone has instinct, intuition, you get a feel for people right away.... the owner and her daughter have this incredibly fake LA vibe (no offense to LA people), lack sincerity and realness, and are blinded by the money.... I don't feel like they want to work for it, or prove their value... I feel they want to charge you as much as possible unjustifiably. they don't see you as a client to keep, they see the potential to extract as much green as possible at that moment. Having said that, they do do excellent nail art, comparable to whats more commonly offered in LA and Vegas (at a much more reasonable cost). I would go back for that and only that. This place would easily have five stars if it wasn't for the awful service. My nails were done perfectly, the design was incredible and the nail technician was very thorough. But I walked in at 11:15 on a Friday morning and was told fifteen minutes wait and I didn't sit down to get my nails done until almost 1 o'clock. I only waited that long because it was the only salon by me that did acrylics. After I finally sat down, the woman doing my nails huffed and puffed until 3 o'clock when she finally finished. More than once she just got up and wanders away, I guess she was tired of sitting but so was I after 4 hours. All around the salon was very unprofessional, all the employees were on their phones, a few boyfriends walked in and they began to ignore their clients, and there were only four people working, and only one who knew how to do acrylic tips. Paid $110 for a full set that would have originally cost me $65 at my usual nail place. The First Lady (Monica) seemed to be in a really bad mood while she was as doing my nails. As she was doing my nails, I could tell as soon as she started shaping and adding the acrylic that my nails would turn into a disaster. The owner came in and immediately told Monica to stop doing my nails as she would take over. Thinking this I thought that my nail would look so much better than they were looking before. The owner admitted to me that she doesn't know a thing when it came to doing designs with lines and had to start over multiple times. I entered the salon at 1:30 and did not leave until 5pm!!!!!! And the worst part about is is that it was left with 2 cuts on my fingers where my thumb nail would not stop bleeding because the owner had cut the skin on my nail... and still had the nerve to charge me $110 read more

I wish I could give it no stars. This review is long overdue. Fierce Spa has been around for a few years. I used to visit this "spa" when the owner had a smaller location on 117 st next to a autobody shop. The owner was much more friendlier, humble and did an ok job. When I saw this bigger location, i decided to go in to have my nails and pedicure done. I was the 2nd customer as the spa just opened. My nail tech knew nothing of customer service or professionalism. She did not introduce herself and came in with booty shorts. She did a horrible job on my nails and I chose a cream color nail polish for my toes that ultimately turned another color. To make matters worse, the owner came in later on and was simply rude. There was No hello to any customers unless she was personally servicing you. I was sooo upset that I left the so called spa and went straight to the Lacquer Room in the Bronx to fix it! I was beyond thrilled when I found out about this nail salon. It was near my neighborhood and it looked decent, let me just say looks can be deceiving. I've stopped by this nail salon multiple times for gel manicures. My first few experiences were great, my nails looked great and lasted a good two weeks. I have to say things started going down hill after a couple of months. I went for my normal gel mani, picked out a very beautiful chrome color, I was excited to get my nails done. While getting my nailed I was informed of a 65.00ish price, which I understood and accepted. The tech doing my nails was too busy listening to my conversation with my sister and on her phone. It seemed as if her phone was my important then my nails, after about an hour my nails were done. My chrome nails looked GREAT, I couldn't complain. I wake up the next morning and notice a slight chip on my nail, and as the day progresses the chip begins to get larger, the next day a few more nails start chipping and cracking, and finally breaking. I don't understand how my nails couldn't last a week, I have to say I'm pretty upset. I don't think I'll be going back, I gave it a shot and now I'm just done. read more

The place itself is so pretty and modern, and the staff knows what they're doing. Since it's a spa they offer a lot of great services and the prices aren't bad either. Let me first start by saying that I've been going to this salon for almost 2 years. From my first visit I knew they didn't have the best customer service because you can barely get a hi out of them and the owner never smiles. I at first got regular manis, pedis, and eyebrows when visiting but then I started getting acrylics there or coming for a fill. I never spent more than 35 for my full set because I ALWAYS request short acrylic nails which is an option on the price menu. After the woman was finished with my nails I went to pay and the owner charged me $60! I've gotten my nails done with the owner before and I always tip over 20% and there was even a time where she didn't have change in her drawer and she forgot to give me my remain money but I felt she was great so I didn't make a fuss. It wasn't about the money, it was the fact that they try to take money that is not owed to them. Now you can understand when I explained my situation to her that I was in shock when she was completely rude and refused to charge me lower than 60 although my nails were quite short as I requested. I paid the money and vowed to never step foot in. There are plenty of nail salons in NYC so if you are looking for a place with integrity, do not step foot in here. read more
