It'll do in a pinch. After a couple days of rocking pretty hard on vacation, we opted to walk to a restaurant in the hotel parking lot, something I swore I'd never do. We skipped the Ruby Tuesday's ("The corn in chain-eating's turd") and went to this place. All of the food was OK, nothing bad, nothing great. The service was kind and prompt and the prices, well, not awesome but not a total jack-move. The inside was clean and nice looking. We got the tableside guac which was neat to watch being made, but not that great tasting, kinda bland. It's a step up from TGI Fridays or Olive Garden or any of those other typical shitshows. Drove past the restaurant and we decided to check it out after our trip to Hershey Park. We called the restaurant in advance to see if they could accommodate a party of 10 people, not only were we seated immediately when we arrived but our server took our orders quick and we were starving!! The drinks and food came out super quick and the food is to die for. There was not ONE complain about any of the food. We enjoyed every single bite. Great authentic Mexican restaurant! I ate here because it was close to my hotel. Was skeptical because of the 3-1/2 star rating, but the parking lot was packed. I don't know how it's not a 5 star rating. They recently opened for dine in after Covid restrictions and the service was great even with the amount of to go orders they were doing on top of the busy dine in. Food was great especially their vegan tacos with spicy tomato sauce. Their vegetarian quesadillas were also well made. The problem was with the service and not with the food. We did not get napkins or any cutlery until we asked for it. We received our food altogether which was fine but then we had nothing to eat with it and in general the service was terrible. Very good food, amazing flavors, big portions and great presentation. They have a huge menu, I ordered the trio taco combination to-go and was very pleased. Generous potions of protein in the taco, seasoned very well. The hot sauce that's provided in the to-go container, was spicy but very flavorful. This combination also comes with rice and beans which are out of this world. Inside the restaurant is very huge, they have an upstairs that overlooks the lower seating area as well as outdoor seating. I love Fiesta Mexico. Its such a fun atmosphere and the food is consistently delish. The service is quick and friendly too! They make a mean margarita! I love when Dante used to play there on Wednesday nights (Don't know if he still does....) My favorites are the #F, the enchiladas verdes, and the chicken quesadillas. I pretty much rotate between those 3 dishes. I would love to get the fajitas but they nickel and dime you for cheese, sour cream, and guacamole that it ends up not being worth it really. Other than that the rest of the menu I think is a really good value. You always get complimentary chips and salsa with the meal. I had a horrible experience. I was in Harrisburg and we wanted some Mexican food so we stopped by. We were disappointed. 1. When we got to our table the wait staff took 10 minutes to recognize us. We tried to get their attention 3 times. 2. The salsa tasted like it was out of a can. No heat. When we asked for hot salsa we were told they didn't have any. When we asked again they said they only had hot sauce. 3. We ordered the guacamole - it was disgusting. No flavor. Just mashed up avocados. It cost $3.99 (total rip off!) 4. It took 45 minutes for our food to come out. People who had reached later than us were eating before us. 5. I ordered fajitas with chicken and they brought me fajitas with chicken and steak. The food isn't that good and the service sucks. The cost of food is horrendous. This place is not worth the trip, PERIOD! read more

Terrible experience and almost laughable! At first glance, it looked great! We asked for a table vs a booth and we were led up a flight of stairs to a table on the balcony. It looked like we were in the back alley of the restaurant. A serving station was next to us and behind us, chairs stacked on top of each other. There was one lone chair, where our waiter sat and rested. Our table was wet and looked dirty so we mentioned it to the waiter and asked if he could dry the table. He promptly got the wet, dirty, rag that was sitting on the serving station and re-wiped the table down, making it even wetter. Now for the food.....We ordered the beef nachos but they didn't have any cheese on them and had one half of a sliced tomato wedge, a teaspoon of sour cream, with tons of lettuce. None of us had plates so while we were calling the waiter over to ask him for some plates, another server came up with our main entrees. We tried to explain to the person who brought our entrees that we had just gotten our appetizer and were not ready for our meal but the language barrier was too great. He just smiled and walked off. Thankfully my daughter's friend speaks Spanish and she was able to communicate with our waiter. The waiter said that that chef is not very good (no kidding) and he would frequently send the entrees out before the appetizer. I got the chicken fajitas and to me it tasted like pepper steak from a Chinese restaurant. The chicken, or at least I think it was chicken, was brown and cut into thin, tiny, chunks. The peppers and onions were so cooked down that they had no crunch. My hubby ordered the carnitas which were supposed to come with flour tortillas but he didn't get any. By that point, we'd given up. Even so, the pork was fairly good. Never again!!! The restaurant was dirty, the service was terrible, the food was horrible!!! read more

I've passed by this place several times while here on business and tonight I was finally able to try it. I was seated promptly and the chips and salsa arrived quickly. The chips seemed freshly made--as opposed to from a bag--but the salsa was very thin and had no spice. The waiter was very slow in coming by to take my drink order. By the time he finally came back to take my dinner order, I was out of chips, salsa, and beverage. Very slow service. I ordered the crab chimichangas to try something different. The menu said it was crab meat in either a soft or deep fried shell. I chose one of each. The dish was delivered suspiciously fast. The server (not my waiter) brought the plate out with a glove, I suppose indicating that it was hot. The food wasn't. It was warm. I thought from the menu description that it was crab meat...it was more like a crab cake. It was very much like the puréed crab stuffing that you find in those crab shells from Costco/Sam's. I think that the plan was to have the deep frying of the chimichanga cook the stuffing to firm it up. Well, since I had one "soft" or not fried, it was undercooked. The chimichangas were supposed to be covered in "cheese sauce" but we're not. They did have guacamole which was good. So, for $15 for two chimichangas filled with puréed crab stuffing, it was not very impressing. Coupled with the poor service, this was a very unsatisfying experience. They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Well, I'm no man, but a great plate of Mole Poblano definitely softens me up a bit. The decor is FABULOUS. Remember Legends of the Hidden Temple? It's like that without the creepy talking Temple guy and the annoying host. I couldn't hide my disappointment when our waitress placed a glass of ice cubes suspended in pink liquid. I thought for sure it would be blended. I asked her if I had to specify a frozen margarita. She answered: "It would be too bitter if we blended it." Hmmm. Still hopeful, we tried not to choke on the cubes as we waited for our meals. I ordered the Chicken Chilaquiles. However, they have made-to-order guacamole, and the atmosphere is also pretty fun and lively. There is always a crowd in the evenings, and it's a nice place to meet up with friends. Food: Pretty damn good. I'd eat Mexican food seven days a week and twice on Sunday so candidly it would be tough for me not to like a place called Fiesta Mexico, but there were no problems here. I've never seen her order something that was too spicy for her. That is until we went to Fiesta Mexico and she introduced herself to the Fajita's Picante. She was probably only a couple of bites in when she realized how hot this dish was going to be. Apparently there's a chef with an off beat sense of humor that enjoys challenging diners to stomach this plate of fire....which I appreciate as I too have an off beat sense of humor and enjoy watching diners try to stomach this plate of fire. Consider yourself warned. The dish is hot. Service: polite, attentive, knowledgeable, no complaints. Atmosphere: traditional Mexican, casual, pretty large with a first floor and a second as well as outdoor seating. read more

I was really excited when this place first opened because I thought it would provide an alternative for Mexican around Harrisburg other than El Rodeo. Then I found out it was owned by the El Rodeo chain so scratch that. The food here is the same as any El Rodeo - bland. The only difference is that this place is absolutely gorgeous inside and the prices are higher. They did have some tasty varieties of margeritas however. My recommendation - good to try at least once, but altogether very average food. read more

Fiesta Mexico provides a filling, inexpensive meal - The décor is certainly a step-up from El Rodeo, but the food is pretty much analogous. Inside, the restaurant consists of two levels with a sunken center section; its very nice - sort of reminds me of a themed restaurant you would find in Disneyworld or something. I'm pretty sure there's a bar near the front too, although I've always gotten a table here. Their menu is mammoth - although most of the food is just varied combinations of the requisite rice, beans, beef, and cheese. Menu items are pretty similar to El Rodeo. I think they might have a few more or different selections (but I'm pretty sure the vegetarian section is exactly the same). I usually order the vegetable quesadilla whichever restaurant I am at; it is my favorite. They have a full bar, including dos equis on draft. Last visit I got a pomegranate margarita (way too sweet). Their lime versions are more palatable - but nothing remarkable. The service is swift and adequate; never had a problem, but I don't expect 5 star service. If you are near Fiesta Mexico or out with friends, stop in... but if I'm craving rice and beans for a quick dinner I'll probably be heading to one of the closer El Rodeos. read more

The food can be good to mediocre depending on what you order. I order the steak w/ rice, refried beens and corn tortillas, pretty good. The tacos not so good, plus they sell a lot of "tex mex" iteams which aren't authentic Mexican. Tex Mex= most of the things made with ground beef. Picante means hot! I already knew that. But during a recent Fiesta Mexico trip, I ordered the Fajitas Picantes. The server asked if I wanted the sliced jalepenos AND the hot sauce. More is better, right? I said yes. And that combination results in a very spicy dish. As in. "please senor, may I have an extra few napkins for my suddenly dripping nose." And I like spicy food. It was good and delivered on the "picantes" label. Others at the table had Fajitas Texanas, Carnitas, and Chicken Quesadilla Rellena. All of us liked our choices Chips and salsa always seem to be good - chips are thick corn chips, my preference would be for a slightly thinner chip. Overall opinion of Fiesta Mexico: pretty reliable mexican food. I'm sure there is more "genuine" mexican or "gourmet" mexican choices out there. While this is more typical "americanized mexican," it is good and enjoyable. We've eaten at Fiesta Mexico about 10 times. read more

Now this is THE place for camarones de mojo de ajo! I love this shrimp with garlic sauce meal but most Tex-Mex restaurants prepare it with sour cream. Not Fiesta Mexico! Lots of garlic in this spicy tomato sauce with shrimp, served in a bed of lettuce. I enjoyed the chips and salsa to start, along with a Jarritos soda. Nice, festive atmosphere. Clean restroom. A friend of our lives in the H-burg area and we went out to dinner with him and his girlfriend at Fiesta Mexico on our way through town. First thing I noticed was the gigantic menu, which after looking it over quickly remarked to my wife immediately that the menu was confusing. So we strategically attacked the menu while have warm chips with salsa and began narrowing down our options. We both ended up with chicken based items. My chicken burritos were different than any "burrito" I'd ever had before, though they were were tasty, so I guess that is what really matters. The chicken was juicy with good flavor. In my opinion the prices were set well for the quality of the food we had. Seems as though some have had poor service, but overall there seems to be a consensus the food is not too shabby. read more

When I looked on yelp I was surprised to see this restaurant was only rated three stars I feel like it's worth four at least! We love going here, the food always comes out lightning fast and the drinks are pretty good. I love the ambience and the place itself is actually beautiful and easy to get to located in the middle Harrisburg!
