    Mole enchiladas black and tamarind
    Tony G.

Amazing mole, so good! Ordered the black mole and tamarind mixed, highly recommend.... very authentic. I can't wait to come back and try the tlayuda.

Choice of 3 different tacos, rice, black beans.

Great New Mexican food!!! This was a quaint little place we went to for lunch because it was on the way back to our hotel from a conference at the convention center, and we had a discount. What a pleasant surprise. Lovely shaded outside seating. Staff were friendly and service was quick. I had a shrimp taco, pastor taco, and barbacoa taco. It didn't look like much when it came out and there weren't a lot of toppings on the tacos, but the prep and flavor of the meat was fantastic. The shrimp taco had delicious sauce and flavor. The black beans and rice were also delicious. This was the best Mexican/New Mexican food I had in Santa Fe.

We always ate Tamales here before but tried the vegan mole options for the first time and really enjoyed every bite! They also make plant-based meat in-house. Plenty of vegan options.

Been here twice now on our trip and it has been amazing both times. The moles and all delicious. We had Oaxacan and verde mole plates with the chicken, to die for! We also tried the mole sampler and found that they were all delicious! And the margaritas! We tried all 3 specialty margaritas and they were all delicious. Definitely recommend!

What in the name of vegan food did I just eat? Wow, so very delicious! And the margarita was wonderful. Our server was super nice and friendly, but I forgot his name. Just an amazing experience all around!!

    Mole Rosado (probably)
    Emily Y.

Wasn't really into the food, but it's probably my fault. I ordered the mole oaxaca, received the mole rosado(I think, based on the color), but decided to just eat it because it's something new, why not! It didn't really taste like anything. The rice and beans were flavorful and delicious though, so I figure they have some good dishes, just maybe not the mole rosado.

    Good Food!

Delicious authentic Mexican food. great atmosphere. nice staff. pricey, but worth it. very close to O'Keefe museum which worked out well for my visit to have lunch first. Menu has a variety of items and prices.

Very flavorful tacos. The green and red sala and chips were so tasty. Delightful visit! Would come back!!

    Mole tasting is a must!

Originally, we had a reservation for 6:30 p.m., but after spending the afternoon exploring the galleries nearby, we happened to pass the restaurant around 5:00 and thought we would simply ask if there was any chance of being seated a bit earlier. We fully understood that the answer might be no. A simple, gracious "We're unable to accommodate you before your reservation time" would have been perfectly reasonable. Instead, our interaction with the owner left us feeling genuinely unwelcome. When I asked whether she would simply prefer that we return at our reserved time, her response was something to the effect of, "Your reservation is at 6:30, but I'm trying to find you a table, so you'll have to wait, okay?" The tone was unnecessarily dismissive and condescending. It was surprising, especially considering we had approached with nothing more than a polite question. What made the experience more difficult was watching the owner interact warmly and graciously with every other party that walked through the door. As a young lesbian couple, we couldn't help but wonder whether we had been judged before we were even given the opportunity to sit down. Perhaps that wasn't the case, but perception matters, and unfortunately that was how the interaction made us feel. Once we were seated, however, the rest of the staff was wonderful. Our server and the team throughout the evening were attentive, professional, and genuinely hospitable. They provided the level of service one hopes for in a restaurant of this caliber, and they deserve recognition for making the dining experience enjoyable despite our initial interaction. The food itself was exceptional. Every dish beautifully honored traditional Vietnamese flavors while presenting them with remarkable elegance and refinement. The balance, depth of flavor, and meticulous presentation were all outstanding. From a culinary perspective alone, this is unquestionably a five-star restaurant. It is precisely because the food is so extraordinary that our initial experience with the owner was such a disappointment. Hospitality is every bit as important as cuisine. Fine dining is about creating an experience where guests feel welcomed, respected, and cared for from the moment they walk through the door. Food has an incredible ability to nourish not only the body but also the spirit, and the energy with which it is served inevitably becomes part of the meal itself. I sincerely hope the owner reflects on the way guests are welcomed. Kindness costs nothing, and we never truly know what someone else may be carrying with them that day. This restaurant has all the makings of a truly exceptional dining destination. With warmth that matches the caliber of its cuisine, it would be unforgettable.

The crispy cod was well prepared and layered with flavor. The carrot soup was a little bland. The colossal shrimp and pork belly came on a bright, fresh, and somewhat messy bed of slaw and greens, but the dish needed a little more heat or sauce to bring everything together. The shrimp were also slightly overcooked. Service was slow and a bit fussy at the same time. The dining room is tight, which seems to make it difficult for servers to flow through the space efficiently, so that may explain some of the issues.

My Pura Vida Breakfast Tacos (blue corn tortillas, calabacitas, anasazi beans, eggs, avocado, pico de gallo, red, green or Christmas chile with cheese) that Kadimah suggested were the best breakfast tacos I have had! Would never come back again. ============= This review got flagged by Yelp HQ, let me rewrite this and be clear of what happened. I walked into El Callejon Taqueria and Grill, located on 208 Galisteo St Santa Fe, NM 87501 on Aug 22 2026. It was on a Saturday night, right before 9pm. This was my first weekend in the city of Santa Fe, on both Yelp and Google this location shows the restaurant closes at 11pm. When I walked in the bartender told me that it was closed. I wouldn't care that a business is closed before the listed hours; it was the way the bartender went about it. He could have politely told me that the kitchen was closed, and I would not have had any problem with it. He walked up to me within arm's length and continuously repeated "sorry we are closed" multiple times while getting closer to me. It was one of the worst experiences I have had to get escorted "asked" out of a restaurant. The experience was not good. To be clear I never get to try the food here.

For years, their samosas were some of the best: perfectly seasoned potato filling in a lightly friend pocket alongside some date chutney sauce. On their updated menu, samosas were listed as 25%, so I went for 2 thinking the portions were as they had been for the last 15 years. Sadly, this was not so. They were more like tiny hot pockets, baked pizza dough, with a rather bland, flavorless filling. Alongside a #3 cup of veggie of the day and $16 later, I realized my journey with Annapurna had come to an end, and I would not be returning. Also, I noticed the oat milk being added to the $7 oat chai was Kirkland brand, which consists of: (filtered water, organic rolled oat flour), organic sunflower oil, calcium carbonate, organic natural flavors, sunflower lecithin, sea salt, vitamin A palmitate, ergocalciferol (vitamin D2), riboflavin (vitamin B2), and cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) . Some listings also describe it as fortified and organic, with no added sugar noted in one review source. I'm not an Ayurvedic doctor, but these ingredients and the quality of the food have declined considerably over the last years, which is sad. Such are the times...
