I definitely wouldn't recommend this place. So first the few positives: there's ample available seating and we were served promptly. However this place is very pricey for what you get. They charge you $4 for a small basket of chips and salsa that taste like rubber. I've been to a lot restaurants in my lifetime and I've never been to a restaurant where you have to pay for chips. The food really wasn't that good and the portion sizes were small. Definitely don't come here if you're starving. They were also out of the first menu option I wanted. read more

Fiesta Oaxaca has a beautiful quaint patio and wonderful service. Our server entertained countless questions I had about the menu as my daughter and i both have a dairy allergy. I was given a vegan menu- so appreciative of that. The ambiance and service can't be beat. I know every restaurant is doing their best but the food fell very short for us. The taquitos and empanadas kids meals i ordered (for $8 each) came with just that. Taquitos on a plate. Mini Empanadas on a plate. Nothing else served with them- we had to come home and feed the kiddos a second dinner. The mole enchiladas were good but left my husband wanting more and i felt the same about my dinner. A nice surprise, we stopped in on walk back to our hotel and had an excellent experience. The staff is friendly and responsive. The main course was chicken mole rojo, which was new to us both. I ate there along time ago. I have spent a lot of time in Oaxaca. There is no way the owners or the chef is from Oaxaca. I had shredded chicken with black mole which was so loaded with sugar and was most likely store bought mole in my opinion. My friends did not care for what they ordered either. I was excited to go since it was called Casa Oaxaca, but unfortunately extremely disappointing. The service was adequate, but when a waiter says everything is good , a red flag goes up for me. The place is cute. The service was ok, but not fantastic. My biggest beef is that they charged us $8 for chips and a tiny cup of guacamole, plus $7 for two tiny cups of salsa and chips. What Mexican restaurant charges you $15 for chips, guacamole and salsa?!! Second bit of beef: we paid $45 for a pitcher of margaritas. There was hardly any tequila in the drink. Tons of ice, melted water...not enough tequila at all. The dishes we ordered were pretty good, which is why I'm not rating this lower. We had quesadillas (delicious), mole verde with peanuts and sesame seeds (delicious sauce, but the chicken under-flavored), beef burrito (very good), enchiladas suizas (delicious, but more spicy than anticipated). Overall, overpriced for what it is, but the food was pretty good other than the pitcher of margarita, which was disappointing. read more

My spouse and I were super excited to try Fiesta Oaxaca Restaurant after walking by several time. We went on a weekday early evening and were the only ones in the restaurant. The server took our order, two bowls of house made seafood soups and two enchilada entrees. Later, more customers arrived which made us feel good that the restaurant had regular business. Very quickly our enchilada entrees arrived, but no soups. We looked at our tiny, tiny entrees and were so disappointed at how little food there was, that we forgot about our missing seafood soups. The black beans were one tiny tablespoon portion and the rice was an equally small tablespoonful. Rice and beans are cheap plate fillers, but not here. The Tamarindo Mole Enchiladas were three small rolled pieces covered in a incredibly super sweet sauce, I had not tasted anything like it before, and I usually love tamarinds, especially eating fresh tamarind pods from our backyard tree. This was not even close. We both looked at each other and sighed. The menu prices are NOT cheap, so we expected a lot more than what we received. At least we gave this restaurant a try and the two soups were not even on our bill. If you have nothing nice to say about something..... sigh. Hopefully others will give constructive criticism, and the owner(s) will make some positive changes. We want all Santa Fe small businesses to succeed. read more

Highly recommend! We stopped here the first night of a weekend trip. I tried the enchiladas suizas and they have this interesting dish that isn't listed in the online menus - pastel with chicken and green sauce. Something I wouldn't think to order and it ended up being the best thing ever. They serve warm salsa with their chips - red and green and I couldn't decide which was my favorite. We got takeout tonight, and everything was excellent. We got the empanaditas con mole de Oaxaca, the chile en nogada, the mole de verde pipian, and the chiles rellenos veracruz. The chile en nogada had amazing flavor, but my favorite were the chiles rellenos--very different from what I was expecting, the tomatoes with olives and capers cut the fried batter nicely and it's not overly heavy. My husband loved the mole de verde. We will definitely come back and try different dishes--next time I will try the mole rosado de pinon. I ordered and picked up within about 25 minutes--also pickup is through a takeout window, so very easy. read more

I was excited to try this restaurant due to its many vegan options. I was visiting my family in Albuquerque from Minnesota for the holidays and we took a train to Santa Fe. We had a larger party but were able to find tables to split up. Unfortunately, my two twin daughters and my younger niece and nephew (10 and 14) did not want to eat. I felt bad wasting a table on just myself, so I went to the service counter and asked if I could order my food to go so that I could free up the table for other guests waiting. The man at the counter was very friendly and was willing to accommodate my request. I had planned on waiting outside for the food with my kids niece and nephew. But before I could do so, an older gentleman, who I presumed to be the owner, came out of the kitchen and spoke with the man at the service desk. He became angry and started to say that my requests were bad for business. He kept ranting about how he couldn't do this and that we needed to leave. He rushed up to the table where the four kids were from my party and told them they needed to leave. They had no idea what was going on. I was trying to order still and realized what he was doing and how angry he was and finally told the man at the service desk that I would just leave. The incident was so upsetting. I have never received such poor service from any restaurant. I do not recommend this business solely based on how they treat their customers. This experience tainted my view of Santa Fe. I was born and raised in Las Cruces and hadn't been to Santa Fe in many years. Thankfully I came upon "The Wrap" (113 EAST WATER STREET, SANTA FE) later that afternoon and was able to find some vegan food options. The staff was much more friendly and accommodating. So excited to have this new place in town! Having spent a good part of my childhood in Mexico City, I'm always looking for good Mexican food and it's really hard to find. This is the best I've had in ages. The food here was delicious--very fresh--and the flavors were excellent. Unlike so much Mexican food that served in the US, this wasn't heavy or loaded with cheese. I've been twice this week and had the Mole Pipian the first time, and we shared the Pescado a la Veracruzana and the Chile en Nogada. All three were excellent, but the Pipian might be my favorite. They only brought us one, and never placed our other order. They made it seem inconvenient to remake our food (that they forgot about).
