My Family and I went to eat at this restaurant, I brought my child's car seat to put in a "supposedly safe" car seat sling next to our table. There was more than 8 feet diameter between the end of the sling to another table. A man was walking by and hit the sling, tumbling over my 3-month-old child and ended up falling on the floor. I screamed and tried to grab the car seat. Everyone was shocked and started freaking out. I grabbed my child's upside-down car seat and unbuckled him as fast as I could to calm him. I looked ever at the gentleman and asked if he was okay. The manager expressed no concern for my child or the incident in general. One employee helped the man up and the man said he was fine. My child is still crying, and I'm trying to calm down. She threw her hands up and yelled at everyone that everyone is fine and to stop. I told her, "How do you know everything is fine?! My 3 month just fell on the floor!" She told us to settle down or we would have to leave. As a parent, I was terrified about my child but felt that she just did not want to deal with it. I wanted an incident report and she threatens to call the cops if we don't leave. We argued a few more minutes and she was the rudest manager I have ever witnessed. She did not offer medical services and since my child was calm after a while, she figured everything was fine. There was no concern toward me and my family with my 5-year-old watching this as well. We left and called back to file an incident claim. The manager Ashley answered and I told her I would like corporate's number or the owner. She just kept telling me we cannot give that information out. And hung up on me. Very rudely! After about the 8th call back, another employee answered, which is someone I know personally, and I told him I would like to make an incident report to give to my lawyer and doctor. He said he doesn't know what to do because he is new and he will ask. I ended getting hung up on again!! I called back 20 more times and no answer. Eventually another employee answered and gave me the number to corporate. They NEVER offered any help and the manger only kicked us out with providing any medical support/ nor incident reports. So then, I tried to get ahold of corporate while getting a police report. I feel we were treated unfairly and the right protocols were not followed. I am a manager myself and I would never treat my clients/customers this way. I finally got ahold of corporate, Amber, but she took a very long time to get back. The whole conversation went in circles. I found out that Ashley wasn't even the Manager!! Amber said she was a waitress. She impersonated being authority. The manager Fred who was the real manger did nothing but stand there and cross his arms. He only asked us to leave. This establishment is very unorganized and improperly trained. Who knows how the kitchen is ran?! *I just can't believe that My child falls on the floor and we get kicked out???!!! read more

Breakfast Review: 4 for the food!!! Don't come for the coffee but stay for the red Chile on the breakfast burrito. Oh! and sopapillas with breakfast!! Come on, that is awesome. New favorite smell: coffee and sopapillas together. Tip: add advocado to the #8 breakfast burrito smothered in red. If you are if you are a pro New Mexican add a couple sunny side up juevos to top it off. This building has been a restaurant since I can remember, 30 some years; all the way back to "Little Anita's". They have definitely tried to update it but it's basically some paint with what I believe might be some of the original chairs, which I think is kinda cool. This place will definitely give you the feeling of a hole in the wall / dive bar discovery. I will definitely add this to my rotating list of places to kill red chile breakfast burrito cravings. We stopped here while out running errands for a quick lunch. The salsa was really yummy and hot. The service was slow but it was very busy. The ambience is kind of old but everyone is super nice. The food was decent for the price. The menu was very big in options. The red chile sauce was spicy and delicious. Oh my goodness people. If you haven't tried Fiesta's, I'd highly recommend it. I'm reviewing from one visit--but it was so kickass, I'm just giving the place 5 stars. This is also because New Mexican or Mexican food usually isn't one of my go-to cuisines when I'm hungry-but Fiesta's changed all that on a cool spring evening here in ABQ. Even the fact that they're right on the SE corner of Montgomery and Carlisle--an awkward place to get in or out of--won't stop me from getting my tush into a seat there. First, super sweet and prompt service from the minute you walk in the door. Good sign. The chips for the table were so light--and you couldn't see a spec of oil on them. I had the Tamale and Chile Relleno combo plate. Seriously, when I was finished with my plate (something I usually don't do unless the food is toe-curlin'--belly lovin' food), I needed a cigarette and a cuddle. You getting me here? The tamale was perfect. Not too wet, not too dry. SO SO TASTY. And their green sauce was great--I could have eaten it by the spoon. Wait. I did. I am NOT a hot sauce, green chile, red chile type person usually. But there was so much depth to this green sauce. I can't wait to go back. And the Chile Relleno? Faggetaboutit! The batter was so frickin' good. Perfect crispness with a light layer of moist batter under it, and then a perfectly cooked chile inside--all kinds of deliciousness. After all that, I was so full. I thought I'd just have a bit of the sopa. OMG-- DELICIOUS. It was perfect. I finished off one of them.Puffy, not greasy and really really tasty. This can only happen from care, actual effort in the kitchen. I have to say that all of the reasons the food was great was because of people working in the kitchen who cared about that food. Fiesta's has two yelp sites, so I'm posting my review to both. They serve Huevos Rancheros for only $5.49 on Mondays through Fridays from 6:30 am to 11:00 am. My guy and I normally share that one plate while he enjoys a beer on tap, and I'll order tea or a soda. Heads up--my Mom said that she likes the Huevos Rancheros at Garcia's better than Fiesta's; if you're like her, then stick with Garcia's. If my husband and I get the special and only have a couple of beverages, then our tab, tax, and tip can all come out to less than $20.00 -- a bargain for under $10.00 each. Should you decide to sit in the cantina area, it is open seating. My husband and I like the coziness of the cantina's benches, and since it is an adult only area which have televisions, I don't mind watching a game there. This stems from me requiring a break from everyone younger than 21, and on certain days it's like needing a break from everyone younger than 30. Who is turning into a grumpy old lady? Ha ha. At any rate, I didn't notice any tvs within the restaurant side. My friend, Roger, does not like their salsa and has voiced his opinion to the staff. He'd probably give it one star. I don't mind the salsa especially since it comes with chips that are made fresh in Fiesta's. However, if you order the chips and salsa before 11:00 am, then you will be charged for it. So, you have to decide if you don't mind paying the extra dollars. Be aware that if you order a soda, then they do charge for refills. Just so you know. But, if you order iced tea, I didn't notice any refill charges. But, maybe the refills are free after 11:00 am? I don't know. Between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm (M-F) lunch specials exist. Then, Fiesta's offers a daily All-You-Can-Eat opportunity from 3:00 pm to the closing of the kitchen. So, show up with your appetites for that one because the sopas, enchiladas, and tamales are good. This restaurant was delicious! I had the stuffed sopapillas. The only downside was that my rice was a tad crunchy. Otherwise, the shredded beef was tender and juicy. The sopapillas were buttery and sweet. And the chips and salsa were warm and slightly spicy. The front cashier was the nicest and our waitress was friendly too! There food was really amazing. I went with my dad and my sister and they also enjoyed there food a lot too. The waitress Kristen over there was a really nice person. There service is very great im not gonna lie. There prices are very much worth it. Even the wait is even worth the time. I've been there a lot of times and they never messed up an order, ever was rude, stuff like that. The place itself was not bad 100%. Pretty Good New Mexican food. I was the only one in the place at 8pm which guaranteed me excellent service. Best part of the $7.75 combination dinner was the cheese enchilada. I knew the other part of the combo was going to be the deep fried version of the Chile Relleno, but the batter was quite light and it actually worked well this time. Both the red and green chile had some spice, but I believe the green won the heat contest in this restaurant. Refried beans were not great and rice was standard spanish style. I'm not sure how to separate the Sopapillas at different places because they all taste the same (unless it's whole wheat), but the two that I got with my meal were excellent. We went here to eat today because I keep searching for new places I can go with my dietary restrictions. to start off, there was one server in the entire place. One. During dinner rush in a fairly busy restaurant. Like 8 tables I believe were full. When we walked in, a girl left the cashier desk, ignored us completely, never said a word, and we then waited in excess of ten minutes before anyone said anything to us. I tried to ask for a table twice, only to be seated at a booth that was too small as the server rushed off instead of pausing when I tried to speak. Next up, asking about my food allergies. Good wait before we asked for them, that part I wouldn't have minded except we weren't exactly on unlimited time today. (the one time we had a deadline, go figure) Asked about if the cheese was pre bagged or not and asked if the shredded beef used soy (lots of places put soy sauce in the beef or us a seasoning pouch that has soy in it) and if they used soy oil for frying the chips. All things I need to know before I can consume anything at all as I'm desperately allergic to eating both soy and potato (pre bagged cheese has potato flour). Server seemed very unconcerned about any of it, came back and told me they "made the cheese" there. not sure if that meant shredded it there or if this place legit makes their own cheese. Either way, probably ok. He shrugs about the soy and says something to the tune of how he isn't sure, but probably. So I said allergy and we're only guessing? I asked if he could check for sure because if so in both of those items then I limited my choice to a steak and only a steak. Ten more minute and he finally comes back with the fact that the fryer uses soy oil. Okay so no chips, but that doesn't really answer me about the beef? I just made the assumption from there that I couldn't have it and moved on. Ordered the steak. Supposedly ribeye - when I got it, definitely not a ribeye cut. Super thin, not marbled the way a ribeye was, and very bland. no distinctive ribeye flavor at all. Beans were decent, rice was too hard. We never got our sopapillas at all despite them supposedly coming with the meal. Husband ordered ground beef enchiladas and double rice, no beans. Received shredded beef enchiladas and double BEANS, no rice. When he mentioned it the server sort of blew him off like haha sorry man (he actually laughed). not sure he thought it was a joke or what. Maybe he misheard, maybe the kitchen screwed up, no idea. But not the best reaction to a customer indicating something's wrong. (Not like my husband was rude either, he just politely mentioned it was more beans than he'd expected.) Overall I'd rate my meal satisfaction with maybe 2/5 and hubby was sincerely disappointed too, but gave it a 3/5. The one star? That's for poor staffing during a busy time (overworking one poor guy much???), misrepresenting meat types, and generally screwing up orders. And we're not going to talk about how many stars someplace gets when they treat my legit food allergy like it doesn't matter. To top it all off? Took another ten or so for the check, another five standing up front to be checked out, and now... my stomach hurts. So something definitely had soy anyway, despite how cautious I tried to be. My best guess? Even after indicating soy allergy, they probably greased a pan with soy oil before making the steak. read more

Looking for a place to unwind after a looooong night shift and Fiesta comes to mind. It's close to work and we can get breakfast to accompany our adult beverages. The parking lot is about half full and walking inside the restaurant area is empty, but the bar is packed. Obviously, with like minded people. Since the octet included some under 21 types the bar was out anyway. Beverages ordered and 10-15 mins were delivered. Not watered down, but over iced (I get served less ice in a glass of ice tea). Food ordered and 20-30 mins later it arrives (after the 2nd round is delivered and people seated after us were served. The food was warm - not hot and half of the orders were not done correctly and had to be send back to the kitchen. Attempt to keep alcohol flowing? - but 2 was the limit. My Chicken fried steak was greasy - no amount of tums could alleviate the heart burn. In addition to the over-iced drinks, they have other ways of separating you from your money. A 2oz ramekin of additional gravy to enhance the sparse amount poured over my CFS was $1. At least the eggs were properly cooked. 2 hours later, my wallet was $30 + tip lighter. Bottom line - paid less for better made drinks in a club + poor service and mediocre food = 1 star and no return trips for me. Save your time & money read more

While visiting ABQ I wanted a Mexican restaurant different from the "famous" places in town. The other places just serve spicy heat with zero flavor. Fiesta's has the perfect balance of spiciness and flavor. The green sauce was my favorite. Portion size is very good for the price. My waitress was very friendly and most important of all, she kept my iced tea glass full without me asking. I highly recommend this place for dinner. Good job! read more

I've sat at both the bar area and the main restaurant. With regards to the bar, the drinks are not strong at all, barely any liquor. Service at the bar was okay at best. The restaurant is great, however. If you go before 11 am, you get sopapillas with your meal. If you go after 11 am, you get chips and salsa before your meal. Service is always great at Fiestas. My water and coffee cups are kept full. The food is prepared quickly and is full of flavor. I'm quite picky about the way my eggs are cooked, but they always seem to get it right. They put just the right amount of cheese and chile on their dishes without drowning them. Another thing to mention is their inexpensive daily specials. Awesome! read more

I was pleasantly surprised by Fiesta's. I was dragged there for breakfast against my will one day, and now its me doing the dragging. The chorrizo skillet is awesome. The ranchero skillet is amazing. The tamales and enchiladas rival El Pinto for a 1/2 the price. Delicious! Good as New Mexican food goes, don't get me wrong, but New Mexican food is plentiful around here. The waiter was super friendly, even though we had a large group. I had the fajitas and the meat was kind of tough, and they only gave me two tortillas. The guacamole didn't seem terribly fresh. The fajitas also weren't particularly warm. The other people in my group enjoyed their food; it's possible that fajitas was a bad choice. Their chimichangas were good. I will say that one of the best things, if you work nights, is that they serve a full bar all day. You can get off work and drink with your buddies like normal people - just in the morning. The old adage applies here, "Don't judge a book by it's cover." I am from Albuquerque, so I am familiar with Fiesta's or at least their bright neon sign, which has honestly always turned me away. My assumption was just another over-greasy, over-larded, New Mexican restaurant. Well, this week proved me wrong! We stopped by here after a long day and ordered take-out (sorry, not another review for the bar). The food was fresh, flavorful, and well presented. The staff was kind and professional, and the place was clean and kitchy. As a guacamole snob, I greatly enjoyed their fresh guac and the tamale was one of the best in the city! Horrible. I never really liked this place but. . Dad wanted to go. 45 min wait on food. No check ups or status on eta of our food. No refills on coffee or tea.. I ended up walking to bus table to refill my own and familys. After getting our food, what should have been hot was room temp. Chicken sandwich, eggs, pancakes . What should be cold was as if they put our cottage cheese under the heat lamp while food was waiting. We complained. Server came to the table and with a attitude says I am sorry for my horrible service . And offered to take 10 percent off. We explained that not one or two things was bad, but the whole visit was bad. After a talking they took 50 percent off. Let's just say I'll never go back again. I know many people like and love it. I wanted to try the posole but its seasonal so the waiter suggested I try their stew. It's a lot like a beef stew only with pork chunks and lots of green chiles. It had some zip to it but just enough so the flavor still came through, which is good for this wimp. It was really good and quite cheap. 7 bucks and free chips and salsa. Salsa was awesome. Called this place up on a Saturday around 4 to make a reservation for 25 at 6:30pm. They were very accommodating and said they would give us the banquet room. I was appreciative of this because it was kind of late notice. We were in town with a softball team and it is always a challenge to find a place to have a team dinner. With that being said, I know we are a large group with lots of orders and different personalities but if you have a banquet room, I assume you can handle a large group. I do not think they were quite prepared. They gave us only one waitress and the poor gal seemed over whelmed. A second gal had come out to help by bringing drinks and when I tried to order my drink with her she directed me to my waitress saying, "she'll take your order" I was just trying to help out our waitress because she seems to be getting pulled in so many directions. Whenever we go out as a team we find the easiest way to settle the bills is to do it separate. Everyone gives the waitress their daughters jersey number and the waiters will usually put the orders down that way. We have done this all over the US because we are a travel team and are in different states throughout the season. We rarely have a problem with this. I have to give our waitress kudos because although some people got their food late (and this is to be expected when you have such a large group) it appeared to me as if she got everyone's order correct. GREAT JOB. HOWEVER...when it came time to settle the bills she was so confused and handed out bills to people with items they had not ordered. We all had to go to the front and name off what we had to the manager who then tallied everyone's bills. That was a bit of a pain but we got through it. Overall the food was not bad. I am mexican, so I can be a bit critical. The beans were good but the spanish rice tasted very bland and I did not care for it. I ordered a cheese enchilada and chile relleno. The enchilada was good but the chille relleno could have used a bit more flavor. The green chile on top was spicy, which proved to be a little hard for me to eat because I don't really like spicy but a little sour cream helped with that. I also ordered a coconut margarita which was delicious and those sopapillas (which I had to google to find out what they are) were delicious!!! The prices were good.
