The work and service were both rough: Work - the car was pulled out and ready to hand over to me, even without checking all the lights that were still on (engine, brake, etc). I had to go find them again to scan the system to cancel the lights. And they said the "lights were on when they got the car." I told them that's why I reached out and offered business. Wasn't it their job to wrap it up before saying the car is ready? Service - I chose them because they said they offer the service to send the car back to me without me having to show up there. And it was communicated that they could have the car fixed within the day. It was discounted after they got the car, saying they didn't even have the parts ready by the end of the day and that they had to wait one more day. Plus, they told me they could only Uber me to their plant to pick up the car instead of sending it back to me. They should not OVERPROMISE on such supporting services as the customer chose them for the sake of time. It turned out I had to cancel lots of errands, which would have been totally avoidable if they had been upfront and decent from the beginning and throughout the service. I gave them two stars instead of one only because the manager showed a good attitude and admitted that they should have done a better job. Anyway, the experience was NOT pleasant. read more

I chose this shop because its glowing reviews and premium $250 per hour rate suggested top-tier workmanship. I took my Mercedes G-Wagon in to have two simple, bolt-on parts installed (the front grille and brush guard, both supplied by me). Before dropping the vehicle off we agreed the job would take about two hours. Once the shop had the car they called to say it was suddenly a five-hour job; after some back-and-forth we compromised at three hours, and they still kept the car overnight. Today, two weeks later, I opened the hood and immediately saw that several of the mounting tabs were never seated correctly. A quick online search confirms what I suspected: this task should take less than two hours for any competent technician. At $250 per hour I expected professional-level service, not loose tabs and an inflated labor bill. Between the padded time estimate, the unexplained overnight stay, and the sloppy installation, I cannot recommend this shop. I will be taking the G-Wagon elsewhere to have their work fixed, at additional cost and inconvenience to me. read more

The work was done very well and we are happy the results. I gave them a "3" because of 2 reasons. 1) They did not give me a written estimate of the work before it was done. The estimate was only verbal. 2) The communication about the repairs was terrible. The car was there for 3 days and we were told it may be done the first afternoon but they had 10 hours of work - an impossible task. On day 2, they said it takes 10 hours and they were working on it. The car may be ready by close of business. On the third day the same story and it was completed by 5:00. We had to contact the shop to see where things stood and felt we were forever in the dark. I would think twice about returning because of this. read more

I got a wheel alignment on a lifted truck that was way out of whack. They got me in immediately, offered my family a complimentary drive into downtown (we declined and decided to walk), then they picked us up when the truck was finished. They did a free inspection on the truck and weren't pushy at all about their recommendations. When I got the truck back, it had even been washed! The price was legitimately unbeatable. I was referred to them by a local tire / wheel store and I'm glad I was. I dealt with several of the staff for this appt and every single one of these men was professional and nice. the work was done well I'm sure.... then was undone and then once I took it to another shop fifth gears acting manager offered to pay for parts and then stopped all communication and then even took down proof of payment on their little app all I can say is enter this place of business at your own risk hopefully you are treated well and with integrity and respect of your vehicle and not be told that you might has well take the expressive rims off and trash the car after they dismantled it read more

I dropped my vehicle off on and had a quote next day. They said it would take 2 days the part was available and in stock. I told them to go ahead with the work. I was told two days. I called in the afternoon of the second day and they had not even started on my vehicle. Total lack of communication. I picked up my vehicle and am taking it to dealership. I will not be back. Communication and doing what you say is of the utmost importance. I would not recommend this business. read more

O2 sensor on my 2020 Camaro SS was causing me not to able to get inspected. They did a full assessment and "fixed it" and also found other issues told us to drive it over 50 miles and we thought it was resolved. Light came on again. Still an issue still can't get registered. The other negative I have is lack of phone calls giving us status. They gave us a name of another group after us spending over $1200 on my 2020 Camaro they put the wrong spark plugs in so now we have to spend more with the new group that knows Camaros to get to the real reason the engine light is on. Not a good experience. Fifth gear needs to do their homework and not overcharge their customers if they just don't know. read more

I spent $10,000 yes $10,000 dollars at this location trying to get my Range Rover Sport fixed. It was one sensor, then another,then the whole def system and then other sensors. My vehicle was there for months and I got it back only for the light to come back on within 20 miles. I took it back they drove it to their Lewisville show and then they disconnected my ELOgps system removed it and claim they no nothing about it yet the system shows them driving it all they way to their Lewisville shop and then it being disconnected at their shop and now doesn't work. Guess what that is another $1900 out of my pocket to have a new one installed oh yes and the check engine light came back in not even a week after I got it back. I will be taking from now on only to a RR Dealer as these people claim to be experts and yet have no idea what they are doing. Oh yes and I paid them CASH. read more

Went to 5th gear in McKinney and got quoted $8,000 for a new transmission, they said mine was trash. Got a second quote up the street and they fixed my vehicle for $250, and all my truck needed were new spark plugs. Transmission runs fine. Really recommend getting a second opinion if you ever bring your vehicle here! read more
