Do NOT take your car to Car Care Central. Short version - they wanted to charge me $1,900 for a repair that I was able to do myself for $12. Long Version - one day my trunk wouldn't open. I heard a click, but it wouldn't open. My car thought it was open (the little warning would come on each time I turned on the cat), but I couldn't get it to open. So I took it to Car Care Central. They said it likely was electrical and that it would be $300 for them to diagnose the problem. After they did that the first person I talked to said it would be $1900 to repair and made it sound like they wanted to replace the thing that was responsible for ALL the power locks. I said that didn't make sense because all the other doors worked fine... so they passed the phone to someone else. I don't remember what explanation they gave me, but they said something I probably didn't understand and said they'd apply the $300 to the repair cost. I got my car and said I would have to schedule the repair later. At the time I was in a hurry, so I didn't notice that they did not give me a quote, only a receipt for the diagnostics. Later, I decided to text my friend who's incredibly knowledgeable about cars to see if I needed to get a 2nd opinion from another mechanic. He asked to look at the quote. I contacted Car Care Central and they emailed it to me. Now the repair was $1200. ‍ Definitely suspicious. My friend then told me about 2 things I could try myself to figure out the problem on my own. So I looked up the fuse box information for my car, found the "relay" (looks like a plug) for my trunk, unplugged that, and swapped it with a relay from another part that was working. My trunk opened! This "diagnosis" of the problem took me all of TWENTY minutes and that was only because I had to look up info first. I ordered a new relay from AutoZone for $12, got it the next day, plugged it in, and my trunk has worked since. ‍ I know we've all heard of mechanics trying to take advantage, but I'm still shocked at the amount they tried to charge me, and that they still charged me the $300 at all. So yeah, wanted to spread the warning so no one else gets scammed! read more

I think everyone feels vulnerable when faced with finding an honest service facility for their auto. I was driving along and felt my truck pulling hard right. At a stoplight, I realized the tire pressure was low on the readout. Quickly scanning for a place to fix a flat I spotted Car Care Central. I pulled in and they got to it quickly. In about 15 minutes they gave me the good news-bad news routine which I expected. Said it wasnt fixable. So I ask them to put the spare on but, they had already aired the leaking tire up to 60psi and pulled it into the parking lot. I chose not to buy a tire there and ended up getting 4 new ones elsewhere. I did appreciate them putting the tire back on. Ive had shops say no its illegal yada yada yada. I have gone to this place several times and only when they really have to use tons of time or product aka parts have they charged me. I have a sense when I leave there my car is in top shape. I went in a few days ago and thought I had a wire misfiring but within 5 minutes I was shown all four motor mounts were broken. I called two other shops that were three hundred more and two hours or less later I was gone. I do need to run by just so they can look one more time. Its a used car I had just bought so I want to make sure it's in the best condition possible before hitting the road.. The staff is always ready to help in any way never meeting a staff member who doesn't like what they are doing.. I HIGHLY recommend them. You decide for yourself!! I have used CCC for many years and been pleased. However, last year took my car in for an oil change, and a young guy came to tell me how bad my 2 back tires were, and they needed to be replaced. Now I'm old, but I'm far from stupid, knowing that at some point in the next year I would replace them. He was bound and determined that they needed to be done that day and he could give me a good deal. I told him that when I was ready, I'd go to Discount tire. Just unneeded or wanted HIGH pressure sales pitch. I have had my cars worked on elsewhere since and been happy. Over a year has past, and today I thought I'd I see how much it would cost to have a low beam light bulb replaced in the headlight housing. The fellow told me quote $100.00. Normally I would replace it myself, but since it is a newer car, I was exactly sure what to do. As I was leaving to think about it the guy came out and told me they do it for $50.00 including the cost of the bulb, but they would have to order it. I left and stopped at another repair shop. They installed it while I was in the parking lot. Less than ten minutes later I was driving away. The total cost was $32.00. Something is REALLY WRONG with this picture. You decide for yourself. Super friendly, fair pricing ( if you want cut throat pricing good luck, sincerely, with that roll of the dice), and very speedy service! One of the big reasons why I love this place is because early on my wife, who is not very car savvy, came here and she was not given the run around. My ignition cylinder on my work van broke and needed replaced. I brought it to car care as usual and they quoted $2,000 since all locks would need replaced to match a new key. The part was on back order but they were dishonest about the part telling lies as far as the shipping truck was stuck in the mud so it couldn't be delivered. Turns out the part comes vin specific to match the current key. No need to replace all locks in doors. Or programming. I ordered the parts myself genuine oem mopar for $$350 total and did the fix myself. This place had gone down hill after Travis left. I used to refer all my family and friends to this shop but now this place is just a scam. They charged $100 just to look at the ignition from eye sight and not removing any parts to be sure if anything else was broken. No way to talk to anyone other than the unethical manager. So a bad review it is. read more

Went by to inquire about a/c work, wheel bearing, and transaxle service. They said it's impossible to check the charge on an a/c, they can only evacuate and refill. They don't diagnose a/c at all until after that's done (at nearly $100). All it takes is a set of gauges and a little training to check a/c charge levels, I've done it myself many times - I just don't have gauges anymore. Quoted 3 hours labor for a wheel bearing, at $98/hour, plus $300 for parts. When I balked they got offended and told me I wouldn't find anyone who would charge less than $95/hour - the shop I usually use charges $85/hour. $98 hour is close to what dealers charge. Book labor for the job is 2 hours, going by Alldata. I got the parts for under $75. Quoted $80 to drain/fill a manual transmission - it holds less than 5 quarts of gear oil, I changed it myself for $20. I normally do my own work; the only reason I stopped by is I was pressed for time. Manager is a bit on the rude side when you refuse work. read more

I am a 19 year old women who went in by myself to get my car fixed. They honestly took advantage of me because I really have little knowledge about cars. My cars alternator died and needed a new belt. I took it to three or four places that day looking for the cheapest price because everyone in Plano was charging over $700. They gave me the service for $580 so I was ecstatic. I was very wrong. I asked them to do it the same day which they did and I specifically told them that this car has to get me from Dallas to Alabama the next day. Well 3 hours into the trip the next day my ALTERNATOR DIES It was now Sunday and no repair shop is open in Dixie Inn LA. We got stranded in the middle of nowhere in a state we knew no one. This guy said he checked to make sure the alternator was good before I left. Thankfully we had AAA because they got us a tow truck and we were able to find an awesome mechanic and guess what the price of an alternator for our car is, $200 not $375 which I'm sure they charged us. The guy who replaced are alternator said that our alternator came back completely dead which is rare for a brand new alternator put in one day before! The total cost for this person to put in our alternator was $300 were as if you take out the belt cost they would have charged us probably $450 there. We will be walking in to their office demanding a refund when we get back from Alabama and their office will be receiving a very angry phone call tomorrow. P.s we were stranded in the middle of nowhere Louisiana for 5 hours, our trip to Alabama is already a 10 hour drive. We are very unhappy. read more

I have never written a review for a car repair place but I feel I had to for this place. My daughter is single and lives by herself and luckily she lives very close to Car Care Central. She has taken her car there many times and it is always less money than what they tell her up front. They are so nice to her. I needed to get my truck inspected so I asked her to take me there. The people were so nice and had my truck ready to go in less than 15 minutes. I am taking it back for an oil change later on this week as it is only $29.95 and includes tire rotation. Five stars for an oil change? Well, an oil change was what I needed, and an oil change is exactly what I got. Friendly staff, a good price with a coupon (we get them pretty frequently in the mail), and nothing unexpected. A few months ago, someone I know failed their state inspection at this place, only to pass somewhere else that was less thorough. Hardly worth losing a star over ("These guys did their job! How dare they!"), but worth noting if your own car is kind of iffy. read more

Have found them to be trustworthy and provide quality car care. They have found or rather diagnosed correctly, problems that two other repair shops misdiagnosed. One was a gasket leak (dealer said it was a steering fluid leak), and on another car an axle issue which it wasn't at all. Car repairs always seem to cost more than I'd like, but at least I feel a sense of trust that i'm paying for what I actually need. They also stand by their work. After replacing the upper control arms and ball joints. Took it back after the noise persisted and they said it was a bushing, they replaced it free. We needed a new tires but they were honest and said they may not have the best tire prices and gave us a few recommendations of some discount shops and to just give a call back for alignment when we were done. After taking my old car to the several other places and having them charge me hundreds of dollars but never seem to fix my problems I finally tried this place and they fixed the AC for a reasonable price. Today, I brought it in since my check engine light came on. They examined it and found no issues. Most likely my gas cap was not on tight enough. They checked my tire air pressure and then charged me nothing. They truly are amazing. Honest. Reliable. Skilled. My husband and I won't take our cars anywhere else! Finally a car shop you can trust. I had a computer issue - fixed I had an alignment issue - part of the problem with these old cars like my moms 2002 jeep cherokee are issues with the steering. And I learned this during this process. They did the alignment. I was very unhappy. There was too much play in the steering after they fixed the way it was shaking in the past. I never had that much play in the steering wheel. They fixed the shaking with the alignment. and obviously fixed part of the problem. So I was told honestly that they didn't understand why it wouldn't be acting like normal. They didn't know why what they did, that it would cause it to have play in the steering. They took it back and spent a lot of time on it, test driving it, putting it back in the shop, checking everything and tightening up the steering. I'm not a mechanic, and i can't remember all the stuff he said he did. All I know. These guys are professional. And they work with their customers. A normal shop would have told me to get lost, We did what we could. Not these guys, tho. They kept it and fixed it. No extra charge. They put in time and effort on a car that probably needs other parts to drive straight. The alignment issue is fixed. It drives straighter than it has in a long time. These guys are good. I went here because my heat had stopped blowing during one of the snow storms last winter and they are very close to my home. They wanted over $600 dollars for the repair. I told them I was unemployed and couldn't do it at that time. He walked out to the garage and said he had tapped on it and got it to work. I asked him to tell me where he tapped and he said I couldn't do it because it was deep in the dash. It's right under the console in an easy to reach place! I used to take my car here a while back and never had issues, but the staff seems to have changed. These guys are definitely overcharging and suggesting unnecessary repairs. They also get furious when you decline work or sa youd like a second opinion/quote before paying them for a large (potentially unnecessary) job. Recently I had them look into a sound that sounded like leaking air in my engine. I was given a laundry list of repairs (ranging from replacing turbo to emissions system issues, etc) amounting to almost the value of my 12yr old 150k mile car. When i told them i wanted to get a second opinion before proceeding, i was told i couldnt drive due to risk of the turbo breaking and damaging my engine. After a long, disdainful lecture i was given my car with a warning not to drive far ("keep it to a mile or so"). The other shop i took it to found a leaking intake hose and fixed it for cheap. Just drove the car cross-country (to Michigan) without any issue. These guys are starving mechanics looking to scam someone and are quite rude when theyre called out. Go somewhere else. read more

I took my Lincoln MKS to get a transmission fluid change and the individual gave an estimate for the transmission fluid charge plus 3 hour labor charge for the work. It takes 20mins tops to change your transmission fluid. WOW!!!!!!! Anyone that goes here needs to watch out for the shaft. Con artists are all shapes and colors. read more
