This place used to be so wonderful. The last two times I went it was awful. For starters the decor in the restaurant is the same as it was 25 years ago. I can get past that if the food was good. For appetizers we got the Zuppa clams. The sauce was good but the clams were like chewing on the front tire of my car. The stuffed mushrooms were not bad. The dinner salad left little to be desired. The lettuce was drenched in water, ice cold, no croutons and no onions. I got the bolognese which was Also drenched in liquid and my wife makes a better sauce out of a jar. My wife got the shrimp scampi which she said was a 2 on a scale of 5. Not sure what is going on with this establishment but it has gone from five star place to a 1 1/2 maximum. read more

Came in for dinner at about 6pm Friday night. Was seated immediately in a very nicely decorated area of the restaurant. The waiter came right over with bread and took our drink order. We live in West Hartford but were visiting my husbands brother in Longmeadow MA in the late afternoon and decided to get takeout from Figaro's on our way home. We ordered ONE chicken Milanese dinner meal. I cannot rave about the quality of food and the portion size was unbelievable. My husband and I were able to generously share this entree with leftovers to spare. Delicious chicken, beautiful broccoli rabe, zucchini, pasta and a salad! Everything was delicious and very Italian. My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of dining at Figaro's on our anniversary. We both come from Italian families, and let me tell you Figaro's is the real deal old school Italian restaurant. Large dining room is separated into different sections leading to an intimate dining experience. The decor is old school Italian and the cuisine tastes like it comes straight from Nonna's kitchen. Our meal started with fresh, piping hot bread accompanied by some house infused olive oil. I've come to realize a lot can be told about an eatery by the quality and thoughtfulness of their bread service. Figaro's certainly hit the mark in this department. I enjoyed a glass of Ravage red blend from the wine menu. Nice juicy red at a reasonable price of 8 dollars for a large glass. Next came our calamari appetizer, simple and well prepared. The accompanying marinara sauce was fantastic. Normally for me when a meal comes with a soup or salad option it is a forgettable couple bites. However here the soup of the day (sausage chowder) and salad were very flavorful and well done. For entrees we had the traditional chicken Parmesan and fettuccine Tuscana. Both dishes were of excellent quality featuring obviously homemade sauces. The portions are extremely large. Almost anybody will be bringing home leftovers. While the food was top notch, what really made our experience noteworthy was the exemplary service provided by our waitress Rita. Rita was on top of her game and really made our dinner perfect. Great attitude, knowledge of the menu, kept on eye on our water and wine glasses and just did an overall outstanding job. We both were blown away with the amazing job Rita did. I understand Valentines Day is a busy night. I've worked in restaurants since I was 18. My waitress was inattentive and slow. It took 30 minutes to get our salads. When we were done with our salads, we sat there for another 20 minutes and she never came back to check on us. With our wine glasses empty for that amount of time, I proceeded to go up to the bar and order two glasses of wine and bring them back to our table. The boat was tipped when my husbands $27.00 Osso Bucco came out. It was so cold, the gravy had a film on it. At that point our dinner was ruined. I advised the manager of the problem. She went to the kitchen and never came back to advise what was being done. Our waitress brought his dinner back, they did not make a fresh meal, just reheated it. Our waitress never came back. We got up, I spoke to the manager and she told us to just go. The experience was so bad, I'll never be back. read more

I hadn't been to Figaro's in years but 6 of us decided to get together last night for dinner and ended up here. I don't have any complaints. My lasagna was delicious and plentiful as I had enough for another complete meal, that I ate today. I don't recall hearing any complaints from anyone in our party. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal and was impressed with the portions. The waitress was very nice and let us hang out for a while after we finished dinner to chat. The service was great and she was attentive but not overbearing. I wish I could remember her name because I would like to formally acknowledge her. Well i wasn't thrilled about this place. The atmosphere deserves a 10, its amazing i was seated in this window room, its almost like your own dedicated room. When the waitress came over i knew she was a ditz she asked what we wanted for drinks, after totally screwing those up we waited a while for her to come back and ask for our order. When she did she re filled our water an that was the last time we saw her in probably 45 mins. I take that back, we saw he jumbling tables, but she did not come to see us. After the 45 mins she finally came up and said the food would be right up wondering if we needed anything else, we said we were okay. ANOTHER 45 mins she came back up and did the same thing.... ( At this point i thought i was drunk, i said " Did she really just do that AGAIN?" ) YUP she did... 20 mins later we saw our food, she acted all casual as if it didn't take long at all. I couldn't believe how well she played it off. The Food was okay, it wasn't 5 star and it wasn't anything to jump about.. It was something i probably got from a local Italian joint for 8 bucks, instead i paid 20. Unfortunately after this impression i will never return. Maybe it was an off night. read more

Disappointed I didn't yelp after our first trip here, which was amazing. I will agree with other yelpers, this is an old school Italian restaurant and the decor is extremely dated. It however has a nostalgic feel to it and that's not always bad. We had super service and the food was great, eggplant parmigiana cooked perfectly and a seafood Risotto. The dessert selection leaves a lot to be desired. We purchased tickets to see a Elvis tribute concert. I have one word "obnoxious" - how a place can allow an employee to be so loud, rude, disrespectful and plainly just a horrible server, is not understandable. Sorry it wasn't funny when you put down the side of pasta and said "here now shut up and eat it, I've had enough out you". We would have complained, but the manager was standing off in the sidelines laughing hysterically. This guy was rude to all the customers and his fellow colleagues. I went here for the first time in a couple of years a few nights ago and I have to say, I have mixed feelings about this place. They have amazing stuffed mushrooms, which are baked and stuffed with seafood balsamic. Delicious! However, the chicken bianco I got left much to be desired. As sad as it is to say, Olive Garden does it better than they do. It just lacked flavor and was very oily. The service is great and the atmosphere is nice. Price wise, it's relatively inexpensive. I would definitely come back here again just for their stuffed mushrooms which are simply divine! I will definitely have to come again and hopefully change my mind! read more

This place was very, very, very mediocre. The seafood stuffed mushrooms were freshly made, but still had a "fishy" taste and the mushrooms tasted odd. The side salad that came with the meal was extremely cold. The shredded carrots in the salad were frozen. As if they were pre made the night before and they just sit in the fridge until ordered. Ordered the $26 Seafood Risotto, it had ONE scallop in it, a ton of calamari, a few pieces of shrimp and mussels. It wasn't under seasoned but wasn't anything to be in awe of. Very in the middle of the road flavor. Which was disappointing for a $30 meal. I gave two stars because the waiter was very attentive and professional. I've always driven past this restaurant and wondered what the food was like...now I know. Visited with a large group on New Years Day. LOVED IT! Very much enjoyed the Tenderloin Marsala with a glass of Asti Spumante and a side of delicious Angel Hair pasta. The steak portions were each cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The Marsala was thick and sweet. So much food I brought home a sizeable doggie bag and had no room for dessert, (but I did add a coffee with anisette and whipped cream). If you go to Figaro's Ristorante, then you better go hungry. You'll want to savor every heavenly morsel! As far as Italian Food goes, this is the real deal. When my friend and I visited, the establishment was all decked out for Christmas in white lights and festive finery. Wait staff is engaging and attentive. For a Monday night, I was surprised to find it was quite busy. Linen napkins, freshly ground Parmesan and a full selection of delectable desserts served to make this a memorable meal. I had the Eggplant Parmesan and it was about the best that I ever tasted. The was NOT mushy and overcooked as it often can be nor was it bogged down with too much breading. And speaking of bread, I recommend the garlic bread with cheese, decadently divine with extra butter and melted mozzarella. We finished our feast with a shared piece of creamy cannoli cake topped with marzipan and whipped cream. 100% Delizioso!!! read more

I was extremely disappointed by Figaro's. This is a very old school Italian restaurant, and I've become accustomed to the the new school. I went here for a work function, so I was working off a different menu. The menu for functions was rough. They offered cheese and crackers for cocktail hour and it was likely Cracker Barrel and water crackers. The rest of the food was family style. The salad was weak and the main dish came with family style ziti, which was overcooked. I had a steak. The side dish was parsley. That's it. What a disappointment. I won't be back. read more

This place is a complete dump hole. I've been dragged here for years as my parents consider this a "great" restaurant. Yeah, maybe if you've never eaten food before. The atmosphere is dark, dated, and dirty just as I remember it from 20 years ago. It has been updated but it still has the same feel. It's your classic "fancy" restaurant from yester-year with a spinning dessert case, paper placemats and parsley garnishes. The menu is as dated as the decor with the same options they have always had. Want something different and unique? A well-done classic dish? Maybe something light or healthy like even a whole wheat pasta option or a vegetarian dish other than a shitty iceberg lettuce salad? Well my friend, you have come to the WRONG place. Everything is battered, fried, covered in cheese and swimming in butter, presumably to cover up the low quality. Dishes are bland and completely uninspiring. Well at least it's a decent deal right? Wrong! Your crap food will cost you a pretty penny. Makes sense since you'll be their second customer all day. Now I hate chain restaurants, but good lord, even Olive Garden does it better than this place! The only thing keeping this place alive is diehard fans who can't be bothered to travel outside of Enfield and the extreme lack of options in the area. I've been several times - it's a place my family likes to go because everyone finds something they like. The rigatoni bolognese is probably my favorite and I've never had the pasta be overcooked. My father is a huge fan of the linguine with white clam sauce, which comes with a ton of chopped clams and some whole ones in the shell. The decor is a little bit over-the-top but it doesn't bother me. I've always had great service and never been disappointed in the food. Portions are large - I usually can't get an appetizer and finish my meal. Dessert is not the strong suit, however. read more

I went here because I was told good things and when I got there it looked very nice. Then the food came...... I ordered a shrimp cocktail. It came with medium sized shrimp and they were good. Also ordered clams for the table that were chewy and we just returned them. Then I ordered shrimp scampi. Honestly idk what they brought me but it was terrible. Some kinda "special sauce " all over it. At that point I had had enough. They gave us free desserts to make us feel better ?! We got a cheesecake and a chocolate cake. Both were frozen. I really like the food here. We got take-out from Figaro last weekend - Portabella mushroom app, tortellini soup, chicken parmesan and veal parmesan. First off, I have to say that their tortellini soup is the absolute best I've ever had. I always have someone pick some up for me when I'm sick. :) I had the veal parm and was happy and the portion was enough that I had leftovers the next day. My friend is a picky eater and said the chicken Parm was really good. The mushroom was quite tasty as well. They also have electrical outlet parking spaces out front so you can charge an electric car (we were wondering what the heck that was at first). I love when a restaurant goes high tech with their forward thinking. Either that or the owner owns a hybrid. :) Good job Figaro. I look forward to visiting again. read more

Had not been here for years when out out the blue my wife suggested it last night for dinner and I'm glad she did. We started with fried calamari as an appetizer that was served with a very good marinara dipping sauce. The calamari was served piping hot and was crispy and tasty. Our server Jill, had a great handle on the specials as well as the regular menu. My wife went with the baked seafood special with consisted of two baked stuffed shrimp, a large piece of salmon as well as an equally large piece of baked haddock. It was served with a nice medley of fresh mixed vegetables. She had a huge salad to kick off her meal with a raspberry vinaigrette. She loved every bite of her meal. I went with chicken parmigiana served with ziti. The sauce on both the parmigiana and the ziti was very tasty and reminded me of the Sunday gravy my mom used to make. I started my meal off with a great bowl of chicken vegetable soup that was outstanding. No room for desert as both of our dinner portions were huge. I can certainly tell you that it will not be as long in between trips here as our last. See you soon. read more

I've gone here several times and it has never let me down. I just went this past weekend with family for a nice casual dinner and all of our meals were delicious. We got the escarole and beans and the fried calamari for appetizers and both were very good. Everyone also enjoyed their entrees. I typically get the lasagna and my husband always gets the veal parm we are always pleased with both. The portions are nice and large so we typically have good left overs for lunch the next day. Figaro's is also good for group events, we go for family birthdays with large groups. We had our rehearsal dinner here as well. The service is usually decent and if you reserve for a group they always get you into a nice secluded area. read more

Our waiter Fred was excellent as far as catering to our needs (and making sure to talk loudly so that my grandfather could hear, haha). Appetizers were very good.fried calamari and fried mozzarella.... meal was just ok...salad was basic ice burg with with water all at the bottom of my plate...couldn't eat it....chicken Italian..although large portion size, chicken was chewy. Side pasta also not drained good and full of water. Bread tasted like day old toasted bread. Not a great dessert selection and my cappuccino was luke warm. Only reason they got two stars was waitress was nice and attentive and apps were good. I won't be returning. read more
