I've been craving Filipino food ever since coming back from my trip in the Philippines so my friend and I decided to grab lunch at this restaurant. Service was fast from being seated to getting our orders and to the delicious food being served! Staff were attentive and our host was friendly and made sure that we had everything we needed to enjoy our food. Looking at the menu, prices were decent - in terms of Yelp "dollar signs" I would give it a 1 1/2 if they had that option. But once we received our food, it made sense why. The portion sizes of the dishes were enough to be shared among 2 people. Our host did say that the "bowl" option would be good for one and now I do believe him. If you choose the "bowl" option, prices are pretty good if you are on a budget. Other people recommended the "Lechon Kawali" (crispy pork belly fried over a pan) so I decided to order that along with a breakfast dish "Bang-si-log" (milk fish, garlic fried rice, egg) since I love breakfast and I have not found a place that serves Filipino style milk fish. My friend ordered "Kare-Kare" (oxtail in peanut sauce). Those three dishes were more than enough for the both of us. The Lechon Kawali was great! They must've hand-picked their pork because there was just the right amount of the fat between the tender meat and the crispy skin. The seasoning was just enough to not overpower the sauces that they provide - this could be preference. If ever I do crave Lechon Kawali, this will be my to-go to place. The Bang-si-log was also what I was hoping it would be! I have spend a great deal of time in the Philippines and I must say that this dish took me back to the local restaurants that would serve Filipino breakfast/brunch. I know Jollibee serves Bang-si-log too, but I'd rather go to Fil Cuisine for it. Not to mention, they serve breakfast all day! The Kare-Kare. I find that every Filipino restaurant that I've been too (including the one in the Philippines) makes their Kare-Kare differently. Fil Cuisine's Kare-Kare in my opinion is on the milder side. What I mean about this is that the peanut sauce isn't too "peanut-ty" and the consistency isn't too thick. I say it is perfect for anyone who is trying it for their first time. I just tend to prefer really rich and thick peanut sauce. However, their oxtail was really tender! From experience, the only way that I know how to make an oxtail that tender is by pressure cooking or letting it cook/simmer for a long amount of time. So I do believe that they put it quite some effort into making it which is what I do like about it. Overall, I would definitely recommend Fil Cuisine to my friends and family. It is the closest restaurant there is that would remind me of the Philippines considering that there aren't many Filipino restaurants in Seattle/Federal Way/Tacoma. read more

I came here for the first time with my parents. I'm usually skeptical about eating Filipino food from restaurants because my standards are my dad's cooking and I've never really gone out to eat Filipino food (plus there aren't really a lot of places around here) so I always expect it to be as good as my dad's cooking. I must say I'm really impressed! I really like the inside because there are a lot of places to sit. The service isn't the fastest but the employees there definitely treat you like family. I ordered the tap-silog (beef) with over-easy eggs and it comes with garlic rice. One word, BOMB! Both the beef and rice were very bold in flavor yet complimented each other well. My parents also ordered lumpia, nilaga, crispy pata... and other stuff I couldn't remember. I tried some of their food and they were delicious. I thought the nilaga tasted too cabbage-y though, if that makes sense. Maybe it's supposed to taste like that but like I said, I always compare other's foods with my dad's. Overall I was very satisfied for my first visit here! I definitely want to come back, hopefully with a more empty stomach so I can get dessert! read more

We usually go all the way to Beacon Hill if we're feeling Filipino food but I'm pretty sure we're just going to come here from now on. Food was reasonably priced with good sized potions. I tried to mongo(?) and it hit the spot. For our sons birthday party we decided to order catering from here and we were surprised by how much food came in the small tray we ordered. I was craving for some Lechon Kawali during our trip here in Seattle. This place had great reviews and a lot of raves about their lechon kawali, so we figured we give it a shot. I ordered a regular order of lechon kawali, garlic rice, and two coconut drinks for the kids. We pulled up on the wrong side of the plaza, it must be their old location? We thought we were lost (blamed it on the gps of course). Anyways, it's located on the other side of this quaint plaza. The restaurant was pretty busy. We placed it To-Go which was an easy pick up. The customer service was great..the cashier was prompt and friendly. Our orders were ready to go and the portions were generous. There was a variety of different deserts displayed near the register, everything looked awesome! The entire atmosphere was welcoming and it smelled delicious! The dining room is an adequate size for its location. Definitely not what I was expecting at all. The food...let's get down to the most important part of the review shall we: Lechon Kawali: Delicious!! The skin was super crispy, skin was fried chicharon style. I loved that it was not only crispy..but flaky as well. It was definitely worth it. It also had flavor, which was great! I was used to it being bland and after time passes, the crispy skin usually becomes chewy (gross) or it completely dries out and it's rough to chew or swallow from the places I've been to in AK. They were also very generous on the sauces. They gave a few options, which was very nice and went well with the crispy pork. The kids loved it ( picky eaters) and the husband loved it too! Definitely worth getting on the menu. Garlic rice: the portion for the garlic rice was huge! It filled the entire to-go tray! Definitely more than we could eat, but we definitely appreciate the portion size! Worth the price for sure! The flavor was really good..not overly pungent on garlic. It smelled awesome and taste was worth it. Coconut drinks: The Kids really enjoyed it! Unfortunately, I didn't try it for myself. Doesn't look like much when you drive by but this is officially my (filipino) boyfriend and I's FAVORITE place to get filipino food in the puget sound area. We discovered it a couple months ago while housesitting for my parents in the Kent area and we can't believe we haven't known about it for longer! We actually live in the Edmonds area and have dragged my boyfriend's co-workers all the way down here just so they could try it. The food is on par if not better than home cooking and the menu is designed to be served family style. Everytime we go, it's like going to mom's house. You'll leave full with leftovers to enjoy for lunch the next day. We highly recommend and consistently get the Kare Kare, Nilaga, Mungo, and Lechon. The halo halo is obviously delicious as well. Pinakbet, ampalya and lechon kawali with the soy vinegar is all I order from here. Sooooooooo good! I wasn't a fan of the pork adobo though....didn't taste like how I'm used to and was too "soupy" for me. Not going to knock a star off because I'm used to having it cooked down a little more with less soup. So we've been here once before (probably a year ago when we first moved to Washington) and ordered too much food! (We hadn't had Filipino Food in awhile... Since Colorado doesn't have any decent Filipino Restaurants). It was good a year ago, so now that we are moving again, we decided to come back here to get our Filipino Fix! We wish the Pancit Canton came in a smaller portion, as my kids couldn't finish it (also, with Pancit Canton, it was a bit on the salty for their taste, we probably should have ordered the Pancit Malabon for them). All the food was delicious otherwise. Love that the food isn't so salty. Kare Kare was so good! Yes, it needs a bit of the shrimp bagoong, and can I tell you the shrimp bagoong is so good too! The Pinakbet is on point! I'm preggers and holy smokes I was in heaven! And it comes with a good portion of steamed white rice! (I'd totally get it again!) My hubby loved the Tosilog! The best filipino food in the area! I've tried many different places & this is by far the closest to moms cooking! We ordered arroz caldo which was very flavorful my son enjoyed it, kare kare came with 3 huge pieces of oxtail which I loved! (alot of places use beef chunks) & also had lots of veggies, caldereta was very tender & tasty, but my absolute favorite was the lechon kawali! I do admit it was pretty oily... Of course it's side pork haha, still addicting especially the skin oh and of course to top it all off a side of garlic fried rice! Yum! Portion wise was pretty decent we barley finished half of everything & it wasn't even the family size! Paid about 50$ including tip totally worth it. Only Filipino restaurant I've tried in Washington, and I will suggest Fil Cuisine to friends, family and coworkers with confidence. Been here only a few times. Had their longanisa, pancit, lumpia, some sort of grilled chicken (can't remember the name, my mom ordered it), and a fried pork belly dish with two different dipping sauces (again, don't remember the name...). All were delicious. Nothing short of the flavors I had in the Philippines, and I expect the same can be said for the rest of their menu. I fancy the breakfast items, though newcomers to Filipino cuisine may find the combination of fried egg and garlic rice off-putting (tasty... especially with longanisa, in my opinion). Suggestion for everyone: order halo-halo. It's a cold drink, the base being very shaved ice, milk, with sweet beans, fruits and bits of candy on the bottom. Normally the ube, a purple yam, is in paste form on the bottom with the mix ins, but at Fil Cuisine they serve ube ice cream on top. Lechon kawali - OMG! The meat part is tender and the fatty/skin part is so crunchy!! The soy/vinegar that comes with it is so delicious! A must try! Bbq stick - my 3 year olds favorite! For $3- you get a lot of meat and the sauce they use when bbqing it is so good!! Bicol express - lots of jalapeños, chicken, and chili's with coconut milk, this is my favorite. Spicy pork adobo - this is more of a thick, soy/ vinegar sauce. My daughter really enjoys this dish, has a little bit of spice and the basic adobo flavors. Breakfast items - we have tried about all the -silog dishes here and were not disappointed! Comes with meat, egg, garlic fried rice and mango/ tomato salsa!! We were really looking forward to trying out this place, cause my Filipino hubby often craves food from his home country. So we drive the 40 minutes out here and show up at 7:29 (place closes at 8:00) only to be told that they only serve take-out AFTER 7:30. When you go to pick up, they then claim that Grubhub has asked them to cancel the order and they don't make the food. I phoned grubhub and they knew nothing about the cancellation and the restaurant had claimed they had made the food, and therefore got paid. read more

I'm back today trying out different menu items. Everything I ordered last time was so good. I've never had sinigang pompano so I tried that and it was delish. I'm sure it'll all be the same with the dishes I'm taking home today. People working here are friendly, attending to every people walking in. We've been a long-time customer of Filcuisine. Their food is always amazing! I love that they cook whatever you want on their menu just when you order so it's always hot and fresh. My last experience was worth noting as they proved once again why I love going there. I ordered a dish (party tray of menudo) on a very very short notice for a birthday party. It was after their normal business hours and I just messaged them and I got a response right away. They took my order late at night so I was surprised to get a response so quickly. Filipino restaurants are hard to find in this area. Most are already cooked and just sitting on a warming station- very bland, super oily and not very appetizing. This is my favorite spot for Filipino food! I liked the bbq skewers, laing, pinakbet, etc.. but the star is definitely the LECHON KAWALI. Get that with a side of garlic rice.. you won't regret. Everything is packed full of flavor. I usually do family style when I'm here, which is my preferred style of eating because you get to try a little bit of everything.. but if I came alone, I would most likely enjoy the tapsilog plate and be just as satisfied. Service is friendly and efficient. Every time I go, Fil Cuisine is packed (usually with Filipino people).. so you know it's good. It is a blessing and a curse that I live so far from here. I hope this doesn't come out as biased being that I'm Filipino, but we definitely need more Filipino cuisines out here! Fil Cuisine does the trick if you're in the area and ur feenin for some warm sinigang (tamarind-based stew) or crispy pata (fried pork). This place feels like home and it's not just because I live with Filipinos too. They have all the yummy home cookins ready to order for breakfast and dinner. One of my favorite lunch/dinner items is the kare kare, which is a peanut based stew, usually made with beef/oxtail. You eat this stew with rice and a bit of bagoong (dark shrimp paste). The sweet and nutty peanut taste goes well with the salty fishiness of the shrimp paste. If you're new to bagoong, use it sparingly, otherwise it could be overwhelming for the noobs! I love fil cuisines menu and atmosphere! I think they can make it even better by adding more bang to their dishes, like more tamarind to the sinigang, or a side of veggies to cut the greasiness when serving the crispy pata. While I do enjoy this place, nothing beats Filipino food from your nanay or lola. I have yet to find a Filipino place that reminds me of home but fil cuisine puts up a valiant fight! read more
