A friend recommended this place highly, so I had to try it. As always, when tried out new restaurants we tend to order multiple dishes so we could try them as you can see he photos here. These are food for my wife and I. No, we did not finish them. I was very disappointed with the taste of the food as this was highly recommended place. Of the five dishes, three were right, but two landed on the opposite spectrum. The fried egg was very bland, no flavor and no salt. On the other hand, the stir fried noodle was way too salty. This review is based of 2 different times of coming here, the first time we came I ordered the beef breakfast #4 with garlic rice, and same as usual, today we ordered the same thing. The first time the garlic rice was potent like there was a lot of delicious garlic flavor, like they pre fried the garlic brown before putting the rice in, today it was lacking flavor, the rice had less garlic and the garlic was "a pale light color" almost like they just tossed it in the rice, also no flavor and not enough garlic? Other than that the beef was delicious and their soy vinegar is delicious, this is why I will continue to come back. First time we came we ordered a soup dish that had pork, it had no flavor and the pork was super dry and uneatable, we barely touched it and I remember a lady asked if we wanted it togo, we said no and just left it there. Today we ordered the bbq chicken skewers and in photos and yelp it's usually charred and looks delicious. The one we got was cooked--- not charred with the bbq sauce. I don't stumble across Filipino places a lot, so it was great to discover this place. We ordered take-out and were super impressed by the portion sizes! We had the Kare-Kare, deep fried pork belly and lumpia​ (of course!). And more rice than we could eat in two days! Food was prepared fresh, the taste was good (I missed salt, but that was easy to fix) and the lady in the restaurant friendly. Lots of sauces and dips! They also offer fresh baked goods next to the register and we got something sugary with cream cheese for dessert (it was delicious and not too sweet, but I don't know the name of it). Parking and access are​ easy, the place is located in a strip mall. What I didn't like is the huge amount of styrofoam and plastic that comes with your take-out order. read more

First time here last night and I was impressed. We were sat down quickly and they were attentive with taking our order and making sure our water was being refilled. Started out with pork lumpia (if I see lumpia on a menu I order it) I enjoyed them! They flavor inside was tasty and they were fried perfectly with a side of sweet Thai chili sauce. For dinner I got shrimp pancit and my date got adobo fried rice. I actually ended up enjoying his meal better, I personally liked the flavor of the rice more. But the main reason I'm giving it 4 start is HOW MUCH FOOD THEY GIVE YOU! I seriously ate a decent amount and when I was finished it didn't even look like a put a dent in it. Everything was great. Had all lumpia varieties- you get more with the veggie but the pork and chicken give you more flavor. All were good though you can't go wrong with any. Fil Cuisine is located in a small strip mall in East Kent. It was my first introduction to a Filipino restaurant and had no idea what to expect. I'd read great reviews and was trying to impress a date who from Philippines. We tried 4-5 different dishes between the two of us, so needless to say we had plenty to take home. I have to admit I had no expectations, but this has now become a regular restaurant now to visit. Very friendly staff and great food make the experience enjoyable. Restaurant is clean too. I have noticed after a few visits that they have times when they are extremely busy, so be patient during those times. I've been looking for an authentic Filipino joint that would really WOW me. This particular location was alright. I've ordered several items and compare them to how it a actually taste like. Tapsilog is way too sweet. Though the I'll give a huge props to how tender the beef was, they could've at least tone down on the sweetness of it and add more savory flavor on it. Longsilog, their Longganisa is obviously fried and tasteless. Adobo could use a little bit more soy sauce to taste. Kare-Kare is bland, I have to make it rain on the shrimp paste just to at least make up for the missing flavor of it, I have to give them props for the extremely tender oxtail, and fresh vegetables. They make their own Chicharon...Its sizzling to perfection when you get it. All the food that I tasted was really good. They have a White Board for daily made specials. Small restaurant with very friendly people. I found this place by accident on Yelp when searching for a breakfast/brunch spot in the area. I love Filipino food, but don't eat it often b/c of how heavy and rich it is. It would be easy to miss unless you know it's there, since there's no sign for it on the signage by the street, and it's tucked away behind a gas station. Since it had been awhile, I couldn't wait to try this place out. We got the Tapsilog and Tocinolog, and a side order of Pork Lumpia which came with 4pcs. The dishes cost about $6-7 each which is a tad higher than what I'm used to paying when at Filipino restaurants in LA, but I guess it's understandable with the lack of competition up here. Good was great and served pretty quickly. Couple minor things: they mixed up our orders and gave me the over medium eggs and my friend the over easy. Since we had already dug in when we realized that, it was too much trouble to switch and we just dealt with it. They also forgot about our lumpia side order until I reminded them halfway through the meal, but they were apologetic and it came out very quickly thereafter. None of that was a big deal, and I'll def be back the next time I'm feening for some Filipino eats. read more

Halo halo cravings brought me to Fil Cuisine. You can easily get a feast here for under $20. The food seems to be authentic, most of the clientele appear to be Filipino. Pork adobo - The sauce could use a little more pizazz. But the fatty pork pieces are pretty good. Halo halo - I wish it was served in a bowl rather than a cup, it was hard to eat the toppings that were stuck at the bottom. I wasn't too keen on the cream either. My favorite part was probably the ice cream. Chicken BBQ stick - a bit too salty for my taste but the stick was pretty big. Pork lumpia - A bit lacking in flavor, I've had way better pork lumpia, this just tasted plain. Typical Filipino restaurant/take-out where there's not that much room to eat, but a good place for take-out. I personally liked the Menudo (OK, it's Filipino style, so unlike the Mexican cousin, this is not made with tripe)-- which is stewed pork in tomato sauce. My mom and dad seem to like the Lechon Kawali (roasted and dep fried pork belly), but what do I know, I like Filipino gulay (veggies) most of the time. They also liked the Pancit Bihon (the stir fried cornstarch noodles). I thought the Pork Lumpia was kind of smallish, compared to the burrito sized home made ones that I'm so used to. Since I was visiting family and getting last minute addition to Thanksgiving food, I thought the food here was pretty good, and the service was nice. ...OK, my poor attempt at a Tagalog Yelp version. When it comes to Filipino food, I'm a lot like the other Filipino Americans I know. I'm a..."Basic B." We kababayan are looking for a sour but savory sinigang like how our mothers made, crispy and greasy lechon kawali that transports us back to family gatherings, and palutan that reminds us of that one time our cousins took us out for way too many drinks in the Philippines! We typically don't want exotic flavors clouding these culinary memories, no truffle oil in our stews, no fancy shrubs with our adobo (datu puti for life), and you really can stop adding ube to everything! Thankfully, Fil Cuisine delivers on offering some of the best basic Filipino food I've had in the Pacific Northwest! Even my mom was impressed by their sinigang, which really should be the end of this review because, of course, my mom's sinigang is awesome, and she is a picky eater when it comes to Filipino cuisine. But I must also add that my personal Fil Cuisine favorites here are also the medley of flavors that is their pinakbet, the melt-in-your-mouth lechon kawali, and the spicy and flavorful laing (the one dish here that you can serve to your vegan friends!) Also, I need to note that for some reason, laing is not listed on their website menu options, so if you are ordering to go, you will need to call that one in. Other obvious clues that this place is the best: it is in a nondescript suburban strip mall...as I mention in my other reviews, most of the restaurants that serve the best food are in strip malls. And every time I go there, the restaurant has mostly Filipinos eating there. The Fung Bros Youtube video brought us here. It was totally out of the way but we had only ever had Filipino food from mom, aunt's and grandma's cooking. Never from a restaurant. With that said, we are probably not the best judge of this type of food. For the most part, we liked it. And there was a TON left over we brought home. We ordered the Lechon Kawali, chicken pancit, 2 orders of lumpia (my favorite) garlic rice and a halo halo to go. All pretty good. Though I wasn't a fan of the lechon kawali. That's just a personal thing for me, not a fan of pork belly. Especially so crunchy, so that's my bad for ordering wrong. Possibly the best pancit my wife and I have had. Lumpia was my favorite. And we found a WINNER! The best Filipino restaurant in my book. Let me back up here a bit.... I recently move to Seattle from Los Angeles, a town where there is a huge concentration of the Filipino community. Even though, you'd think that there would be awesome Filipino spots in Los Angeles to eat sit down Filipino food. Aside from the big chain Gerry's Grill in Artesia (CA), most sit down Filipino foods were blah, and the rest are the typical "turo-turo" style which in our culture essentially means the food are prepared ahead and sits in a heated tray, ready to be ordered to go. While that is convenient for some days, it bugs me that I couldn't find a nice and quality sit down spot for Filipino food where food is made as you order, a nice restaurant you can sit in and spend time with family or friends. Little did I know that I will find such treasure about 2,000 miles north of Los Angeles, here in my new town of greater Seattle area. Sitting in the quiet town of Kent, WA is this AMAZING Filipino restaurant called Fil Cuisine. Being born and raised with Filipino food, I can tell you... this place is LEGIT. I say it's the next best thing to my Mom's homemade cooking. Best of all, the food is prepared by trained chefs, made to order (not like the usual other Filipino type restaurants -- see previous paragraph). So, let's talk about the EXPERIENCE first. Walked in to this clean and bright restaurant and was welcomed by really friendly employees. As a friendly acknowledgement, I asked in our native language "Ate [Tagalog word for older sister, sign of respect], what's good here?" She proudly and heartily responded, "Everything!" :) Restaurant itself is good-sized; they have two TV monitors up in their counter featuring mouthwatering slideshows of the food they serve. And of course, the FOOD. As "Ate" stated, everything was good and did not disappoint. We couldn't decide from the colorful menu what to order as everything looked so inviting and enticing (bonus points for amazing food photography for the menu!). Husband and I decide to order my favorite pork sinigang, his favorite lechon kawali, and because we felt "guilty" with all of the pork, we ordered vegetable lumpia on the side (our shy excuse of adding veggies to our meal, lol). 1. My favorite: Pork Sinigang - Spare ribs and brisket in tamarind-based soup with greens, daikon radish, and green beans. Comes in regular size (enough for 2 people) or family size. My childhood favorite dish, and heaven in a bowl, I say. Pork was so tender it strips off the bone so easily and nearly melts in your mouth with the steamed rice. Tamarind soup base was just right (although personally I would add more sourness to it if I could-- just my personal preference). 2. Hubby's favorite: Lechon Kawali - roasted and deep fried pork belly. Comes in regular or family size as well. Crunchy and fatty good... the type that you have to stop yourself on eating the whole thing just to watch your cholesterol, but you make excuses and say eh, "just this once" because it's so so good. 3. Vegetable Lumpia - 4 large pieces of vegetable egg roll for under $4. Pretty good too, although I've spent most of my palate's attention to my ever favorite pork sinigang. Regular orders of the meal comes with a bowl of steamed rice already which was more than enough for the two of us. All in all, we paid $25 before tip, which I think is totally not bad for the quality and taste of the food. So, the verdict? Needless to say, 5 out of 5 stars. Fil Cuisine seems to offer a good variety of not just typical breakfast plates like long si log and lumpia but also other dishes like Le Chon that may be able to satisfy your food craving. Although I'm not Filipino, I figure the place must be quite good. Not only is this place run by Filipinos, most of the customers are Filipinos, too. We ordered chicken adobo, pork lumpia, lechon and chicken adobo fried rice and we really enjoyed our meal. The chicken adobo came with garlic rice that was strong and aromatic...very satisfying. Note that the dish is quite large, so if you aren't too hungry, the affodoBOWL option should be good for you. If not, the regular size is definitely a good one to share as well (honestly, I can't imagine how big the family size would be...we only ordered a mix of affordoBOWL and regular sized dishes). Service was attentive and staff was friendly. Prices were very reasonable (we ordered 4 dishes and it came to just $37...and we still had an equivalent of 2-3 leftover meals to take home!). Parking was also easy (it's inside a strip mall, so there's plenty of parking!). We kept seeing Filipinos families either walking in to dine there or simply to large take outs. It must be quite good according to Filipino standards. I wouldn't mind stopping by this place again at all. I don't think the food was bad at all. Just a little bland but that's just me. I can see why people enjoy it, I was able to season it a little bit more and it was very enjoyable for me. The wait staff weren't super attentive but there was quite a few people in the restaurant so I can understand that they were busy. It just took a while for my food to come out and some people got their food before me even though I had ordered before them. So this is hard for me to review.... This place is ten times better then jollybee, chow king and the food in seafood city, but for what we paid I'm not sure we will be coming back. My husband and I ordered: Grill fish 10.99 Tosilog 7.99 Longonisa Halo halo 5.49 Lumpia 2.99 Garlic rice 2.00 Calamansi juice 2.00 I'm not sure how much she charged me for the side of longonisa since it wasn't a meal, but only 4 sausage links (no rice or egg) but somehow our total came out to 40+ dollars!
