Pork Adobo Fried Rice tasted like garlic fried rice. Not much adobo flavor detected. Good as a garlic rice.
    Aliza C.

While staying at a hotel, we asked the Filipino staff where they go for Filipino food, most said the local options weren't great, but one person specifically recommended Fil Cuisine in Kent. We had been to the other Fil Cuisine location twice and were disappointed both times, so expectations were cautious. This visit started off strong, though. We were greeted right away by a friendly waitress - she was funny, and very upfront. She warned us that regular portions are already massive and family size would be super-sized. She was absolutely right. When the food came out, we were shocked by how large the portions were. The waitress came back with a playful "I told you so," which made us laugh. Food-wise, it was hit or miss: - Ginisang munggo was delicious. We finished the entire bowl. Highly recommend. - Mixed pancit looked great but was a bit bland. Loved the fresh lemon (not packets) with it and asked for more. - Pork adobo fried rice tasted like garlic fried rice. No real adobo flavor detected and it also was light in seasoning. - Papaitan was Tagalog-style (no bile or liver) and would have been a winner for us but it too lacked the expected flavor punch. - Ube halaya was a bonus. It was made fresh and still warm with a soft fudgey texture. We spooned it. Highly recommend. - Hot tea turned out to be chamomile, which we didn't expect and didn't enjoy. We had plenty of leftovers to take back to the hotel. Several dishes needed condiments or seasoning help since flavors were muted. Easy fix so no worries. The restaurant itself is spacious, comfortable, and great for big families. The ladies from the kitchen who came out to check on us were also friendly and chatty. While this wasn't a slam dunk for flavor this first round, the service, portions, and welcoming atmosphere made it worth trying.

    A bowl of fat

I've been coming to Filcuisine for years and have always enjoyed their food, but this was the first time I walked away truly disappointed. I ordered the beef Nilaga, and what I received was a bowl loaded with fat and very little actual meat. It was so greasy that I completely lost my appetite. I politely explained to the staff that the dish was overwhelmingly fatty, and their response was that there's "a pound of beef" in the bowl. I'd have to disagree, it felt more like a pound of fat. I was also told that "some people like the fatty parts," but honestly, I don't know who those people are because this was a heart attack waiting to happen. I've always appreciated Filcuisine, but this experience was extremely disappointing, and I had no choice but to leave. I truly hope this was just an off day.

This is my go-to Filipino spot in Kent. All the food here is what I grew up eating throughout childhood. The service is better than before. And the ambiance is great! Feels like you're in a Filipino house. I ordered the beef nilagat (soup), kare kare (oxtail based peanut butter sauce), lechon kiwali, and 2 sunny side up eggs. If I don't feel like cooking Filipino food and crave it, this is the spot!

I wanted chicken adobo per the online picture. What I picked up wasn't it and tasted horrible. Wouldn't even feed it to my dogs. Better off going to Seafood City. Living in Kent for over 16 years and always thought about trying this place especially since they expanded but this was my first and last time. What "protein" did I even eat?

The restaurant was short staffed so they seems very busy. I ordered Karekare, Crispy pork and pork adobo with garlic rice. They forgot the garlic rice so we got it later almost end of the meal. Although I didn't really like the garlic rice, it was somehow a bit greasy. I saw many people ordered crispy pork to go and I could tell why. It was delicious! I would order the crispy pork again. Also I got halohalo before I leave and it was good too.

Absolutely disgusting experience. Multiple people in our household got violently sick after eating this food, and it was bad enough that we had to report it to DoorDash as a food safety issue. This wasn't 'bad service' or 'cold food,' this was genuine food poisoning symptoms after eating here. For a restaurant to send out food that makes an entire household sick is completely unacceptable and honestly dangerous. We spent over $100 just to end up miserable for the rest of the night. The fact that DoorDash immediately escalated the issue and refunded the entire order says enough on its own. We will never eat here again.

    Sisig and monggo

I ordered the sisig and monggo for pickup. Unfortunately, the sisig had quite a bit of fat and not as much meat as I expected. The monggo portion was also smaller than anticipated for the price ($14.99). For comparison, I've seen similar portions at Seafood City for a lower price $4.99. I don't usually leave reviews, but I wanted to share this feedback in hopes it helps improve the experience so customers like don't feel disappointed . This not meet my expectation over price

Came here from Las Vegas. As a Filipino American, it is hard to find places in the US that are comparable to authentic Filipino food, but Fil Cuisine hits the mark on all accounts. We ordered the lechon kawali, fried rice, pork lumpia, pansit bihon, grilled pompano, and halo halo. It was suggested by our wonderful server Jen to order the pork lumpia and it was a hit. Overall my favorite is the lechon kawali. It has a great balance of soft on the inside and crispy skin on the outside. Serving sizes are huge by the way. For authentic, high quality Filipino food, the service was fast. Place is quiet and well maintained for families of all sizes. They also have a baked goods which I need to try next time I'm in Washington. Talking with the owner, you can tell they prioritize high quality food and genuine connections with their customers. You guys need to open up one in Vegas!!

    Diniguan

Amazing service and huge portions. Come here if you're HUNGRY. With a group. Dinuguan is my favorite here!

Fried Fish which is what they were calling their tilapia. Wrong fish!

I rarely visit vegetarian restaurants, so I ordered based on the pictures on the menu. I wanted to try the Purple Yam Soup after the server confirmed that it would be very fulfilling, but they came back and said it wasn't available that day. We still enjoyed all the other dishes we ordered, though. The mango smoothie was also very refreshing. The restaurant was clean and cutely decorated. Parking was easy since there was a parking lot.

One member of the group is vegetarian, hence a reason why we ended up going to a vegetarian restaurant for our first meal during our trip. Blossom Vegetarian is located on the southwest corner of 3rd and Burnett. We came in three cars, and the lot immediately in front of the restaurant can only hold about a dozen cars. The adjacent lot has more spots, but all three of us were able to find spots easily when we arrived. That's likely because we had arrived a few minutes prior to opening, so the door was locked when I tried to open it. Right at 11 AM, an employee came out with a signicade to place in front of the front door. Shortly afterwards, we entered and sat at a table for 8, which I found kind of odd because they had tables of 4 and 8, but not 6. Our table had a sign advertising a limited time special, which was Hanoi Beef Fried Rice at the time*. However, we were interested in the lunch specials, which were available weekdays from 11 AM to 2 PM. Knowing that our schedule wouldn't have allowed for a lunch special any other time during our trip, we went for lunch specials, which mainly consists of rice combos. Rice combos at Blossom Cafe come with rice, either jasmine or brown, the latter of which would incur a $1 upcharge. The combo also includes an option for a juice or coffee, and if you choose either, you get $1 off. With plenty of rice combos to choose from, two of them chose the same lunch combo while the rest of us went with different lunch combos, but shared family-style with one another. I chose the Blossom Rice Combo, which consists of shredded "pork", tofu pie, "beef" skewer, and vegetables alongside a lime vinaigrette dressing. I'm not too certain of the other combos, but I do know that the Cashew Chicken was another combo, and that's because one of my groupmates heard it was their most popular dish. Since I prefer brown rice over white (jasmine) rice, I opted for the $1 upcharge for the brown rice. Between the coffee and the juice, I went with a coffee since I was needing some after a long morning of traveling. They have four choices of Vietnamese Coffee: Cheese Cafe, Cafe Latte, Dalgona Cafe, and Cafe Sua. I went with the Cafe Latte, which consists of both condensed and whole milk. The coffee drinks can come either hot or iced. For whatever reason, everybody else ordered the iced drinks, but I went with hot knowing I'd have to brave the pretty chilly weather outside. It took about 13 minutes for the kitchen to prepare our orders, and then we feasted! The coffee was ready about a minute before the main dishes arrived. Everything tasted good, but I wouldn't say great, though that's probably because I'm not vegetarian. However, rest assured that all their meats aren't real meat, and this is indicated by the use of quotation marks encompassing the meat names. You can definitely tell these meats are truly vegetarian, though it took a few bites for me to discern the vegetarianism of the "beef" skewer. The brown rice tasted kind of odd. I don't quite know how to describe it, but it was way different than the brown rice I'm used to e.g. Flame Broiler. The rice tasted pretty meh by itself, but exhibited a much more elevated flavor profile after adding the lime vinaigrette, which I'm thinking was actually a fish sauce. But that Cafe Latte was smoooooooooooth. Just what I needed after not getting enough z's the previous evening. Since I ordered mine hot, my coffee came in a mug while the others who ordered iced coffee got theirs in a wine glass. These coffees supplemented the glasses of water we were given when we placed our orders. Service, unfortunately, was quite slow, so exercise patience! We were the first customers to eat there, and there were a few others who came in after we did. We stayed there for over an hour even though I think we could have gotten in and out in much less time. They didn't really check on us even though there were very few other customers inside as well; I guess we were supposed to proactively go up to the counter to let them know when we were ready to order as well as pay. 2026 calendars were available for purchase at a cost of $20, cash only. I don't know how many people would constitute a "large" party, but we were considered one, which resulted in an 18% gratuity fee that was already added to our individual bills. One of our groupmates, who was fluent in Vietnamese, needed to let the server know prior to paying. So overall, Blossom Vegetarian is a decent spot for vegetarians; I just wouldn't recommend for a quick lunch break since service is nowhere near as quick. * My visit was back in November. I waited until January to post this review as I took a brief hiatus from posting reviews upon traveling to the Pacific Northwest.

However, I had a horrible experience with service in May. It was by far the WORST service I've ever received, even based Asian restaurant standards (iykyk). I've always had older servers, usually ladies but on occasion on gentleman. This time, it was a young girl. It was my first time seeing her there. She had no facial expression to start. And after she repeated our orders, it was incorrect so I correct her. She said "I know", and repeated the wrong order again. When I clarified by listing the correct order, she just rolled her eyes and walked away. Isn't it a server's job to take order, and make sure it's correct? I did not take away from the tips because there are other servers who helped bring our food and refill the banchans, but this encounter made me not want to go back for a while, despite how much I like the food.
