The neighborhood has a spot to go to and this is it like talk about small town America and the Sunday morning breakfast club where everyone knows everyone scenario and this is it to the T! So after reading a few of the reviews I knew to get here right when they opened as it fills up quickly and at 7am on a Sunday you better believe they weren't wrong as there was a handful of people already here and waiting for them to open up and as soon as they did it was more than 10 minutes after for the whole place to be packed with a wait for those who weren't here early enough! They have a good sized menu for breakfast consisting of some specialty omelettes waffles pancakes and your usual breakfast fare but then there's everything else and when I say everything else I mean it! Of the many concoctions I went with the Gut Buster as I just wanted one cause after a long night of driving your just hungry and let me say this hit the spot as it was delicious and filled with a on of bacon sausage and a huge amount of eggs sandwiched between two pieces of delicious sourdough! That sandwich was massive and delicious in it's own way so if your not seriously hungry then don't get it! Since it's a popular spot, if you visit during the weekends, the wait will be long and there will be no parking spot and it's the only reason i minus one star from my review. However, the food here totally deserve 5stars!The portion is huge but the food taste fresh, homemade, and genuine. Unlike other diners' food, which could be a bit plain, Filling Station's dishes are well-seasoned and everything just tastes delicious. I've only ever had breakfast there but you could easily spend $15 here and not have to eat the rest of the day...bwahahha. So we got just a Cal. burger/ chips and 2 little slices of pickle . The chips looked like the bottom of the bag ! ! The waitress never asked us if we wanted Mayo and never of us like it and it was full of it ! My Bill was over $22 and add the tax and a tip for 2 over cooked burgers and some broken chips - what a shame ! I loved going to this restaurant but they want almost as much as a fine restaurant . I read good Yelp reviews on The Filling Station, so we visited after lunch rush on a Thursday. I had the meat lovers omelette. My dining partner had the Southern omelette, substituting sausage for the chicken. I had a flat one, my friend chose fluffy. Both delicious, arrived hot. Came with buttered toast, although the cheese was absent in the Southern omelette. A lot of locals ate at the same time. Others got served far before us. It took us almost an hour for food to arrive. No explanation for our long wait beyond everyone else. Floor was full of food scraps. Need to clean tables and floors quickly between customers. Prices and food were terrific. Hungover after a cancelled BSB concert, I could barely stomach anything. I got a coffee to be polite. But Keshia and Jinz tore up their food up. Jinz said "I wish you had tried my omelette, the best I've ever had!" after she took the last bite. They both also ordered pancakes - banana nut and snickers. Besides the food, service was excellent. Quick and prompt. No need to wait to be seated, we grabbed the first table we saw. Us girls love to chat and most diners would make it obvious that we need to leave when the bill is paid so they can have more tables to seat the next guests. We've driven past here a thousand times and just never stopped in. I wish we would have because this place is GOOD! We got there about 8:45 this morning (Sunday) and the place was full. You line up near the windows and wait until someone leaves. We were sitting by 9am, which wasn't bad. Luckily the people behind us were super friendly and told us that the table opened up. There was 3 of us and we ordered something different. We all got coffee and it was good coffee. As soon as there was any room, you got more. The servers were super friendly and attentive. Our food also came out pretty quickly for as busy as they were. They had about 6 different pancake options, so the sticky bun pancakes were ordered. They were very good! I ordered the sausage gravy over a biscuit and eggs. I also ordered a side of home fries with onions. Everything was very good. They have a huge donut case with apple fritters as big as my head. We didn't get any donuts, but want to at some point. We'll be back soon because everything was good! Beware if you're done eating, people in line expect you to move it along.
