Fillo's was a welcome and great find off the highway as our very tired family made our way to our next destination. Food was great.. I had the grilled fish tacos, very fresh.. son had a carne asada quesadilla, and daughter huevos rancheros. Hubs had a green verde chili pork burrito. I love Fillos! The queso birria is stuffed with meat and full of flavor. The birria fries are delicious. Just tried the pork belly taco(not pictured) and it was a 10/10 pork was crispy. Service was amazing given that they were short staffed. When we went (who I assume was the owner) was taking orders and making the food while the place was packed. All in all the food is well worth the wait. If you want something quick go to a fast food joint. read more

Great tacos! Love the birria with dipping sauce. It's a small restaurant, with about 8 tables, so it's best for takeout.

This place has amazing tacos! The pork belly and mahi mahi tacos were so delicious and had the perfect crunch. The tortillas were fresh and homemade. The agua fresca was very refreshing and had no added sugar which we appreciate as parents of five year old. The tacos a la carte aren't too expensive. The entree prices are comparable with other restaurants on Kauai. We will be back for sure! read more

Hubby tried the Barria Burrito. It was huge and delicious he said. Made two meals out if it. He took it 'to go' as the music and decor was not to his liking. He said he would have enjoyed walking in to 'real' Mexican music Looking on Yelp there are pictures with prices for the burrito from $13.50 - 15.50. As of December 30th when we ate it was $17.50. So with tip and tax it ran about $20 for the burrito only. But...we will go back for take out and share a delicious burrito read more

Best authentic Mexican style fish tacos I've found on the island. It's a little tucked away, but worth seeking out. I had my first watermelon Agua Fresca here. You won't regret stopping in here if you get the chance. read more

surf & turf burrito: 8/10 was so yummy but a little bit on the plain side for the price seafood burrito: 9/10 fish was incredibly fresh and flaky. this one was honestly amazing would get again agua de sandia: 10/10 tasted like strained watermelon juice. so flippin good read more

Food is good. Ambiance needs adjusting. I'm going to give the food a great rating because it is better than the competition. It's nice to have such clean ingredients mixed and prepared with such care. You can really taste the difference. Tacos and burritos! 5stars for good, clean, simple Mexican food. The ambiance is obviously in adjustment phase, so let's give them some time on this. Using a large screen tv speakers with garage band Mexican music videos is never a good thing. Mix that with a sewer line / garbage smell consistently waifing through the restaurant is not good either. 1star. I would go back and try the entire menu. Even bring the family. But if that smell is there again, take out is option two! All the best! And see you around the island! read more

Seriously delicious food. We decided to eat here randomly as we were driving by, and I'm so glad we did. We ordered the birria taco plate and fish taco plate, and the birria tacos were better than I could have imagined. My only issue is with the very long wait, and that some people who ordered after us got their food first. I'm willing to wait if the food is that good, especially if it's a busy time of day, but I don't love it when we get served after other people when we were waiting far longer. I'd definitely still come back though because the tacos were just that good. read more

I gave them the benefit of the doubt based on the reviews from others. Waited a bit longer after looking at the menu and still no greeting, just two bros in the kitchen cooking. Food was delicious. I had the taco plate with cochinitas and pork belly. The pork belly was especially good, and both tacos were packed with meat so two tacos were plenty. The rice and beans on the side were great as well. My partner had the nachos and was very happy with them. Large portion sizes was the cherry on top. I generally think Mexican comida on kauai is not all that great. But the birria tacos right here are mf comida chingona. They just moved from truck to store front. Check um out in Wailua. Worth the stop for sure. read more

Food was just okay. We had the Queso Birria Tacos Plate - good and filling, Nachos with Chicken - nothing special, and a Cheese Quesadilla - plain. Customer service is lacking! When we reach the counter to place our order, there was no greeting, no eye contact, no thank you... And this was the same for the next couple parties after us. The worker gives us a beeper and we sit down at a table right next to the counter. When our food is ready about 20 minutes later, the beeper goes off and we go to the counter to pick it up... Thinking they could have just served it straight to our table, but nope! There is about 6 tables and 4 seats each. The place is clean and the worker wiped up tables after each party. read more

This place deserves it's 5 star! My Husband and I are from San Diego, CA, so we know how Fish tacos and burritos should taste. We ordered the Fish Tacos and Shrimp burritos. I loved the flavor in both the Tacos and the Shrimp burrito. I appreciate the fresh fish and how they melded all the flavors in with the sauce. Not to mention, the tacos didn't fall apart when we ate them. The staff was very friendly and our food was made fresh to order. Although the food was pricier than San Diego, it was worth it and we felt like they gave us our moneys worth. If you like sauces, you may need to ask for extra or be willing to pay for it.
