We came here for happy hour oysters on a Thursday afternoon. It was pretty empty and street parking was easy to find. The oysters were large, briny, and fresh. We had to get 2 dozen. We also had the clam chowder which was rich and bacony, and a flatbread and the scallops. Everything was delicious, but quite overpriced, and I think next time I would try to stick to the oysters and clam chowder. Ambience is nice hotel restaurant/bar. Service is friendly but they were very disorganized (tried to serve us things we didn't order or had already received not once, but twice!) and this was a quiet Thursday before dinner. I would come back because of easy parking and yummy dollar oysters. I wish there were more things to do around this area, but then I guess parking wouldn't be so easy. read more

I looked for good seafood restaurants, and this one was recommended on Yelp, so I went to check it out. Located in the hotel Dagney, it is spacious with a long inviting bar. I sat at the bar and was greeted relatively quickly by the bartender, who then poured me my requisite class of pinot noir. I decided to order dinner there and was very intent on having good seafood so I ordered the seafood tower, which was delicious along with the sausage and pepper flatbread. The tower came with 12 delicious oysters with 2 sauces and plenty of fresh lemons. For chambo, shrimp and some delicious tuna tacos and lettuce cup wraps. Frankly, everything was delicious, and I couldn't have been more pleased with the flavors and presentation, including the flatbread pizza style dish. I would definitely go back to this restaurant when in Boston again! read more

We ordered an espresso martini and a mule, and both were absolutely delicious. The bartender was fantastic -- friendly, attentive, and created such a great vibe at the bar. The atmosphere overall was lively and welcoming, exactly what we were hoping for. Only thing that would've made the night better is if the Blue Jays had won the World Series! I honestly would rate the service 3.5, cheerful bar staff but if I didn't ask for my area to be cleaned/ wiped down that was clean it wasn't going to happen. We couldn't order appetizers and drinks at the same time, one at a time. Which is a bit different. We tried the bacon scallops that were not bad, I like crispy bacon, but they may have been overdone a bit. I enjoyed the Wagu burger the onion jam and garlic aioli were delicious. I was in Boston for a few days visiting my brokers and this is one of the places my marketing coworker chose for one of the meetings. Right off the bat, it's gorgeous when you walk in. We got a hightop table close to the bar and there is plenty of tables to sit at. The first thing I had to order was the espresso martini. It was about 1 or 2 in the afternoon and it was so windy there, I needed something to warm me up but also help me continue for the next few mins we had planned for the rest of the day. The staff/server was fantastic! She was so fantastic, we didn't even see her drop off the drink - the drink just appeared LOL. We decided on picking a bunch of appetizers and sharing it amoung ourselves while we chat and introduced me as their new Underwriter. We decided on their Calamari, tuna tacos, bacon wrapped scallops, steak spring rolls appetizer and the main entree of Beet Salad to split between the table. The presentation was amazing and the food tasted delicious. There was no bad plates at all. (I would've taken pictures but I wasn't ready to have my brokers know that I do yelp on the side LOL - I also don't want them to find my page to understand how much I REALLY enjoy food haha) Anyways, the food was delicious and I'm so glad I got the chance to try this place. I made reservations for a Monday night and arrived on time. The restaurant was a bit empty understandably because it was a weeknight. I made eye contact with some of the servers and wait led a couple of solid minutes before the hostess came over. The food came out pretty fast. Calamari - very bland and not very good Oysters - cold, fresh, and clean. Above average Clam chowder - this was okay Chicken entree - delicious (slightly over salted) but well cooked Salmon entree - also cooked well but portion size was a bit small. And the vegetables and sauce didn't seem to complement the fish Steak frites au poivre - my son said it was delicious and he ate it all. While the food was 3.5 stars overall. I did not feel welcome. The general manager went around checking in with guests at different tables making his rounds on 2 separate occasions. AND he ignored our table, twice. Our server was nice but not the most attentive. She seemed genuine and was apologetic when she took a long time to settle the bill (she said she was a bit understaffed). As guests of the hotel, this was a convenient spot to grab a drink before or after venturing out into the city. We didn't order any food here, so nothing to report there. Cocktails were made well (though I had one that was a bit of a short pour) and priced as you would expect in a hotel bar. The space is nice, great open areas, table seating, lounge couch vibes etc. The chowder had great flavor, it isn't super thick texture if you prefer it that way, but the chips they give you to pair with the chowder was such a yummy pairing. Plenty of clams and diced potatoes in the bowl and it was definitely appreciated. Members of our party got the expresso martini and it had a great foam top and flavor was spot on! They enjoyed their drinks. The tuna tacos were a nice play on Asian fusion, wanton shells filled with tuna guac and siracha aioli. Felt fresh, nice crisp flaky saltiness in the wonton shell! Great combo of flavors and ingredients! The Beef short rib taco was definitely my favorite, the meat had great marinade : sauce and with the pickled cabbage? Whatever it was tasted great and added a crunch texture!. Meat was tender and i would come back for this. Come for: the butternut squash soup Know that: the entrance is inside the hotel I came on a Wednesday night and had made a reservation. It was pretty confusing walking in as there was no stand, had to flag down a waitress to check in. Granted there was also a holiday party happening for a company by the bar so maybe this night was a bit more hectic than normal. When I was seated, I received a menu and ordered promptly. I ordered the butternut squash soup and the scallops with risotto. The butternut squash soup came pretty quickly but I waited a good 30 mins before my entree came out. I believe that the kitchen may have lost my order since my server told me it'd be out any min now for about 20 mins. Butternut squash soup (4/5): pretty good, especially on a cold Boston day. It has a tartness to it from the apples but the little bacon bits. I really enjoyed this. Scallops with Risotto (3.5/5): i love a good seared scallop but these came very uneven. I had two almost rubbery pieces from overcooking and two perfectly cooked ones. The risotto was flavorful and the greens on top helped break the richness. Maybe the holiday party made the place a bit busier and confused than usual. But the food potential is there, just the execution in service, consistency, and speed could be improved. read more

It happened to be a very windy and cold day that day so the warm interior felt very cozy and inviting. The place is very tastefully decorated. There is a bar area and plenty of table seating. For appetizers we ordered the spinach and apple salad - was really good with the cheese walnuts and raisins. Others ordered the tuna tacos which they enjoyed. For entree I got the salmon which came either a baked acorn squash stuffed with barley apples. Salmon was good - tender. Squash was good too - overall very rich and quite a lot of food. Others ordered the bolognese and seared scallops with mushroom risotto. Everyone enjoyed their food. We were really full and yet decided to order the dessert sampler. Could barely finish it! Coming from the west coast we had a late flight arrival time in Boston and didn't feel like venturing out at 10-11pm to eat dinner when there was this well enough rated restaurant right in our hotel. Despite the late hour, this place had a decent crowd, with several very, very loud tables. We immediately asked if there might be a quieter section we could sit in and they took us around the corner, which was fairly open and thankfully, much, much quieter. Three of us shared a Caesar salad to start, which was excellent. One person also had the clam chowder and it passed with flying colors (I would've liked to taste, unfortunately it had bacon which I don't eat). Then I decided to order the tuna tacos as my dinner. Maybe it's just the west coast in me but at very least the menu should call these, "tacos" (quotes) or wonton tacos. But I'll avoid getting hung up on that because these were excellent and plated beautiful. Really delicious fish. A little heavy on the avocado (slightly overpowered the fish). It was the perfect meal to feel satisfied but not overly full. The other two in my party had shrimp tacos and primarily noted they were spicy. I have to say, I'm pretty shocked about the stellar reviews for this place. I'm sorry, but it's EXCEEDINGLY overpriced. Oysters were $4-4.50 apiece, and my scallop entree was $42 -- it had FOUR scallops in it. You had better give me at least six if you're going to charge that, or they better be some of the best scallops I've ever had in my life, and unfortunately, neither was true. We were a group of seven; two of those people didn't even get entrees, almost everyone had one or two drinks, the table shared two appetizers and one or two oysters per person, and our bill without tip was $571.70. They also had the nerve to tack on a "kitchen appreciation fee" of $3 to the bill. Why is there a fee for this when the food is already so expensive? I liked the ambiance, the crème brûlée dessert was really good (although it was $15 when it probably should have been $12), the drinks were good, and our server was very kind and patient with us (we were a large group, as I mentioned), hence the three stars. The food was perfectly fine, but everyone in our group felt it was not worth what we paid. read more

I can't believe I haven't visited Fin Point Oyster Bar & Grill before... seriously delicious food here! They offer $1oysters daily, 2-5pm; I will have to try next time I'm here. Today, we ordered espresso martinis, clam chowder, tuna tacos, & short rib tacos. All were amazing. Service is 10/10, staff is super attentive & friendly. Clam chowder: on the runnier side, not thick but still great flavor & had good amount of clams! Tuna tacos: Very tasty & paired well with the wonton chip shells, spicy aioli, + guacamole. Tuna tasted fresh. Short rib tacos: This was one of my favorite dishes that I tried tonight. Each bite was enjoyable and had the perfect amount of each ingredient per bite. Espresso Martini: I know an espresso martini is going to be good when I see the foam! 10/10. Not too sweet, strong but not too strong. Parking: street parking can be found on any of the nearby streets. Overall, I would definitely come back again! I travel to Boston regularly for work and I'm originally from the South, so I'll admit -- sometimes you wonder what kind of hospitality you're going to receive (without wanting to carry any bias). Stephanie and Anna completely exceeded every expectation. From the moment I sat at the bar, they were warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. They walked me through appetizers on one visit, helped me decide on dessert another night, and everything I ordered was delicious. But what really stood out wasn't just the food -- it was the experience. They introduced me to other patrons, sparked great conversations, and created that rare feeling of genuine connection. Finding that kind of warmth and community while traveling for work isn't always easy, and it absolutely deserves to be recognized. I've now been three times. I typically rotate hotels when I'm in Boston just to try new places, but because of the consistently high-quality service -- not just at the hotel, but especially at the restaurant and bar -- I'll be prioritizing staying here moving forward. I was walking past this place when I saw a sign for dollar oysters, so my friend and I decided to walk in. It's a pretty upscale restaurant, connected to a hotel, so I was impressed to see that deal. The ambiance and service were both what you'd expect for a higher end place like this. The oysters were really nice in size for the price, but were quite salty. That being said, I'd come back for sure, even just to enjoy the vibes.
