Since we are lifetime platinum Marriott rewards members, we were given a voucher to save on our meal at the Capiz Lounge. It was a Sunday night and we didn't feel like going far for a meal. That's when we put the voucher to use as the Capiz is in the lobby of the hotel. We went for an early dinner. Walking into the restaurant, no one was there to greet us and there was no host stand. Finally, a server (who also turned out to be our server) told us to pick where we wanted to sit. We chose a four-top table. When it was time to order, we were dealing with a limited menu. I chose lobster quesadillas, which were listed under "appetizers". My husband chose the fish and chips. The quesadilla was sloppily made. Some pieces had hardly any cheese or lobster in them. Other pieces were overloaded with lobster and cheese. While it was all edible and the lobster was properly cooked, it still was underwhelming. My husband said the fish was well prepared, flaky and crispy at the same time. There were too many French fries, making the plate a bit messy. The lounge is at the Renaissance Boston Seaport Hotel. We stopped in for breakfast and really enjoyed it. For my breakfast I had the avocado toast with a side of chicken sausage and my girlfriend had the oatmeal. It was a perfect way to start the morning. The avocado toast was delicious and the oatmeal hit the spot. The lounge had tables and a bar area with high top tables which provided plenty of space from other diners. Lastly, the hostess and waiter were excellent in taking care of us while dining. read more

Located inside the Renaissance Marriott Hotel Downtown. Nice comfortable rooms that are clean. Food looked amazing. SERVER SUCKED! Restaurant was a little busy only was a party of two. They brought my friend's plate and when I asked where my plate was, the server told me, "We're busy. Be patient." I explained to her that normally when a party is served all food is bought out, not just one plate. She rolled her eyes. I don't do bad customer service. I told her to cancel my meal and bring my check. She then puts her hand up and in my face says, "Give me a moment." Who does that? POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ITS FINEST! The manager comes over trying to EXPLAIN. Miss ma'am. There is NO explaining away rudeness. If you come here, pack your patience and let me know your experience. read more

Located right next to the entrance, this is a great night spot for hotel guests. I do wish it was open later every night. Week days it closes at 11pm and weekend at 12am. I was at the hotel for a convention, but not many guests utilized the lounge this year. I opted to sit at a table vice the bar, and next time I might choose the bar. I think there was only one server so it took awhile to get our drinks and food. Drinks are pretty food. I received the Painkiller but it tastes different than how I usually have Painkillers. My friend got the Cherry Shaken and that was definitely my favorite of the two. I would order that one next visit. For food, we had the Margherita pizza and Honey BQQ Chicken Wings. Chicken Wings had a lot of sauce on them but they tasted fine overall. Pizza was good for a late night craving. Overall, I would come back for drinks before going back to my room or heading back out. read more

Came here randomly on a rainy afternoon right when they opened. Our server was a vibrant woman who was celebrating her birthday and was just full of life. The food was great (clam chowdah, wings *chef's kiss*) but also the lounge seating was so welcoming that we stayed for over 2 hours! read more

Lovely staff and nice space. The beer list and cocktails list are primo! The cold lobster roll was pretty poor, all claw meat underseasoned and obviously previously frozen. Located right off the Lobby, across from the restaurant. Nice atmosphere and very friendly service. Alan did a great job in helping with both the bar menu and the restaurant menu. It was nice to be able to order from the restaurant and have it delivered to the bar. The only problem I would note is that food appeared to take quite a bit longer since it had to make the trip. This place is just okay, had I known there were other places for a late-night grab I probably would have opted for something else. It's convenient because it's located in the lobby of the hotel, but what for what you get it certainly overpriced! Ordered from here for dinner tonight. Very convenient, as we are staying in the hotel. Unfortunately no one answered the phone, so we had to go down & order in person. The truffle fries are so good! Considering the nice hotel, i was very surprised that the bar wasn't as great. The service was somewhat ok. The first bartender my friend and I had pretty much sucked. she didn't quite say hi or acknowledge us for awhile. The place was slightly busy but wasn't so busy where you would ignore a customer, especially in a place like this. Saved by the second bartender who was an older gentleman. He asked if we'd like a second drink when we were just about done with the first. He offered a menu as well as got us both water when we only asked for one. Came here for the Halloween on the harbor event. Cozy and quiet for the individual, couple or group to lounge and relax. Mellow bar and comfortable lounge area. Food menu is limited but the twin lobster roll was perfect for two (about 24 bucks). Comes with two packed lobster rolls with pretty fresh lobster. The filling was mostly lobster so not much of those other fillers (it does have celery bits). The lobster dish comes with fresh salad (mix of various kinds of tomato, carrot, onion, mixed greens) and a basket of deliciously seasoned fries. The drinks were decent too. Had their special Pumpkin RIP which tasted like orange sherbert/creamsicle. As a special, we got little cupcakes as a treat! Overall great experience with unexpectedly good food. Service was average, I think they had one server for the whole place but she was nice. Word of advice, go into the hotel to find the bar - there's a side door but we had trouble finding the place in the dark read more

After a really crummy day at work, I stopped by the (empty and small) bar to grab a cocktail and a bite. The bartender (older gentleman) was really professional and made me a very nice negroni. I had a plate of Rhode Island calamari and some crab dip. It was pretty mediocre (calamari wasn't really crispy, crab dip was very cheesy and not crabby). I haven't been back but if I want a quality cocktail and I manage to ensure that bartender is there (based on other reviews, the other bartenders aren't as good) I'd check it out again. read more

Can't beat the chips and cheese for 99 cents. Friendly, efficient bartenders and an amazing pasta bolognese for 13 bucks and a hotel bar (obviously sourced from their in-house Italian restaurant, but still). read more

Increasing my previous review by 1 star because I just had some awesome truffle fries here. I had their burger too. The burger wasn't very impressive but the truffle fries that accompanies the burger made the meal. Definitely give the fries a try although I don't know if they offer this separately from the burger. read more
