Our group of 4 came to Fin's House around 1pm on a Saturday, and it was pretty empty. It's actually a pretty large place with a lot of tables and seating, and we were seated in a booth that would provide a nice private space if the store was busier. We ordered a Fin's sushi boat, and got the garlic edamame as our appetizer. We also got the jalapeno scallops as an extra appetizer. The garlic edamame was surprisingly delicious despite not being particularly high quality - the edamame itself tasted and looked like it was just defrosted, but the garlic was great. The jalapeno scallops were honestly forgettable. The rolls were all pretty good, and the sashimi and nigiri all had all good quality, generous slices of fish. Overall, Fin's sushi boat is a decent sushi place - I'm sure there are other places that may serve higher quality sushi, but the price and quality you get here is good enough to satisfy a sushi craving. read more

So I had this place for dinner. I have been on a bit of a Ramen challenge lately, so I have tried a couple of places and this has got to be one of the top ones out there the broth was so thick and flavorful. The ingredients tasted so fresh. I was honestly so satisfied with the entire process. Staff was super kind and willing to give out their favorite suggestions and they do not disappoint. Went to Fin's House with six coworkers during a business trip. The staff was super helpful and had no problem giving us separate checks, which made things way easier for our expense reports. I ordered the Tiger Roll and some Takoyaki--both were really solid. The sushi was fresh, and the portions were way bigger than I expected. Most rolls I've had are 6-8 pieces, but this one felt like it had almost double that. I couldn't even finish it. Definitely a great spot if you're in town for work or with a group. I can't believe I didn't leave a review for this place. My cousin picked the place. So I was confident it would be good. We were there on a Sunday for lunch. It was empty when we arrived and stayed empty the whole time we were there. We ordered 3 cooked rolls. My favorite was the crispy California roll. It was warmed up/fried and the seaweed was warmed up and was easy to bite into. You could eat it in two bites instead of the traditional pop the whole piece in your mouth and look like a chipmunk as you chow down. My favorite part and such a treat, they served it in a sushi boat. I've never gotten a boat before as you usually have to order a ton of sashimi to get the display unit. I would definitely come back and order the fried/crispy California roll. I highly recommend it to you. It's a must try. read more

Came her with my cousin since we were craving sushi, but didn't want to drive too far from home. First impression, cute and cozy. It was pretty busy when we got there so were were seated outside. We asked to move inside as it was getting cooler and told us that they would come get us when we there would be an opening, never came. Didn't even ask if we wanted our water re-filled or if we needed anything else. We were done eating and since we was re-seated, we finished our dinner and went to the counter to pay. It took a few minutes for someone to come. As for the food. I had the miso soup, which was very tasty, and my cousin and I shared the Lion King and the bluefin roll. I wasn't too found of the sauce, however, I will give it up for rolls, there wasn't very much rice, which I am a fan of. It was pretty "meaty" heavy with the imitation crab for both rolls. Darn I had such a good experience last time I'm bummed it wasn't the same this time. We ordered the sushi boat 1 and are very disappointed that the sashimi wasn't fresh, not firm and some were very thin. Not to mention blood reside on the daikon. The two rolls we got had an additional charge which wasn't noted on their menu (like how they indicate extra charge for a certain appetizer for the boat special). The rolls were also on the small size (some didn't have rice all the way around and weren't evenly cut. Maybe we got a new chef in training. Unfortunately, this sushi order was a let down. We use to go here periodically but this recent visit was not great. They served teriyaki sauce with tempura shrimp. I asked if they served the right dipping sauce and the server stated they always served that sauce. And then offered ponzu sauce. What? No one ever serves that with tempura. The milk tea and tea drinks we both super sweet. There was no balance. I had to ask for the dish for the soy sauce and the server brought out two dipping sauce things (same as the one the teriyaki sauce came in). Wth? Lastly, the rolls were drenched in the sauce. So much it was dripping from the plate when they brought it over and the sauce itself was watery. Again super sweet. The quality has drastically decreased. We will not be returning. read more

Sushi is one of my favorite "treat-yourself" meals and while it's hard to venture outside of my regular spots I like to try new places and support local. Fin's House has been on my list for a while because it's close to my house and has been rated consistently well by other Yelpers. I love that they offer sushi, ramen, boba and rice bowls along with appetizer options. For this first experience I ordered sushi for take-out and called a bit before 9pm hoping they'd still be taking orders since they closed at 9:30pm. Luckily, when I called they said they were still taking orders so I opted for the Hamachi Nigiri ($7.95), tuna nigiri ($7.95), Rainbow roll ($15.95), Dragon roll ($16.95) and Arena roll ($16.95). The prices are comparable to other sushi restaurants and they said it would be ready within 15-20 minutes. My husband picked it up easily and I unpacked and replated everything at home so I could snap some photos and then dig in. The rolls were packed nicely in takeout containers and each had their own wasabi and ginger with them. I love that they organize their sushi roll menu and let you know what is inside, on top and then what sauce/garnish they use. This makes it so easy to read and I skimmed it for my favorites like hamachi and unagi when I was ordering. My favorite roll out of all of them was the Arena roll. I really enjoyed the combination of spicy tuna, cream cheese and jalapenos inside with the fresh fish on top. It had the perfect amount of heat. I'm excited to try more of the menu, especially the ramen and boba options, in the future. read more

The service is mediocre. The restaurant's ambiance is tiny and ok. Just a very small restaurant. We used to go eat here maybe once a month or every other month. The servers are all very young and inexperienced. Last time we visited which it had been quite a while since my husband and I have been busy and haven't went out for sushi in a while. We live in Natomas and didn't want to drive out to our usual spot in south Sacramento. We took our son for the first time and looked over the menu. The prices have gone up significantly! We used to pay about $17 for a salmon roll which is a bit on the higher side but when we last stopped by it went up to $24.99 for the same roll! The miso is mediocre and the seaweed salad is a rip off! A small portion for $12 Definitely lost us. We rather make the drive to south Sacramento where the rolls are good/more affordable priced and great quality. read more

Ugh it pains me to rate so low because the service is always so friendly and on point, and the presentation is fantastic...but the flavors just aren't there for the rolls. We have been here a few times and have ordered the Sushi Boat #1 but with different rolls each time. Again, the presentation is great! Unfortunately, the rolls aren't very good. Their tonkotsu ramen is BOMB DIGGETY! Super flavorful, the egg and pork belly are marinated and cooked to perfection! Love the sweet, savory pork belly, nice thick cuts too! Came into Fin's when it first opened as a poke place. I forget when they changed their menu up to include sushi and ramen instead, but came in recently for a group lunch. Located in the same complex as Huckleberry's off of Arena Blvd. Decided on sharing a Sushi Boat #2 which came with 1 appetizer, 3 sushi rolls, 2 maki rolls, 16 piece mixed sashimi (chef's choice). Serves 4 people for $108.95. Some others in the group got boba drinks and one ordered a bowl of tonkotsu ramen for himself. Mango Green Tea with mango jelly and strawberry popping boba. We went with the shrimp tempura appetizer as they were out of the takoyaki. The 3 rolls we chose were the Arena, Lion King, and Salmon Lover. For the Maki rolls we chose salmon and tuna. The 16 piece sashimi mix had salmon, tuna, and a white fish. The sushi boat was very impressive -- from the rosette wasabis to the overall presentation. Service and ambiance was okay. Food presentation was beautiful. The food itself fell a little short for me. Plenty of parking. Jalapenos popper came in 2 and it was cut in thirds. It was battered and deep fried with shredded imitation crab and a chunk of cream cheese, then sauce and toppings. While trying to eat it, it was falling apart already. Jalapeno still tasted raw and the chunky cream cheese wasn't warm. It was unpleasant to eat due to its thickness. Usually I've always had the cream cheese and imitation crab mixed and stuffed in the jalapenos. Blue fin tuna handroll & uni. The protein themselves tastes amazing. The problem I had was the seaweed wrap. It was hard to bite into to separate. They also had a promo going on with the blue fin, so that was good. Garlic spicy edamame--it was okay. Easily shared. The miso soup was too sweet, the jalapeños in the jalepeno bomb appetizer were raw, the calamari was good, the Arena and the Lava roll was disgusting, the rice was cold and you can tell it was pre made and refrigerated, the fish didn't seem fresh or good, too much unflavored crabmeat in the roll, and overall not something we would ever eat. It took awhile for the food to get to our table. The sushi were terrible. The rice was mushy they put too much water and the fish were cut paper thin. The price was high and the quality not good.
