Must check out the Omakase experience at this location! THE place to be in Laguna on Thursday night! Chef Sam is creative and meticulous- every bite better than the last. From salmon, halibut, uni, three different preparations of fatty tuna...heaven on earth!

The quality and taste were amazing! the views were awesome! I would get there early if trying to see sunset to possibly get a better table. Busy, so service was a little slow-but they were very kind and helpful. Was a little pricey for what you get, but it's a beach front hotel/restaurant- so it's expected. You can walk down to the beach from the restaurant. Not sure about their parking, we parked on the street and walked over.

Delicious sushi, upscale decor, and an amazing view of the beach. It's everything I wanted and more. This establishment did not disappoint. Every detail was excellent. We enjoyed their salmon sushi, yellowtail sushi, yellowtail jalapeño, fatty tuna sushi, and poke cut roll. All of the fish was so fresh and melted in our mouths. The flavor combinations of everything was divine. The presentation of the soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger was beautiful and smelled so fragrant. We loved it and will be back!

I've gone 3 or 4 times now. It's amazing. Great cocktails, wonderful sushi. I've recommended it to many people. We walk there from our house.

Went here on Monday to celebrate my brother in laws birthday who was visiting from back East. It was our first time at Fin but had been to Hotel Laguna before. The views and hotel are gorgeous the service was a joke. There was only one other table of people and the server gave our sushi rolls to the wrong table, the sushi chef was yelling at him. We had to wait almost another hour before we got our meal. I was appalled by how much the staff dropped the ball on our entire experience with only 1 other small group in the entire restaurant. The bill was extremely high and when I asked if the manager would remove two extra glasses of wine from the bill he said no. I would not return to this restaurant ever again. Have a drink at the bar and take a picture but that's about all you'll get from this place.

I came here with my husband and had a beautiful experience. We sat by the windows enjoying the view and had the most exquisite sushi! Chef Sam Paek is a true artist when it comes to plating and presentation. We drank his recommended cocktail, and it was a holiday in a glass~ The service was wonderful and everyone was friendly. Highly recommend if you are seeking quality sushi and serene ambiance.

Great food and service every time! Love this place. My BFF and I became regulars here since they first opened. The ambiance here is quite nice. What better way to enjoy some seafood than with some ocean views and serenade. Will need to be back here again before year ends!

I've been here a few times for a drink but today was the first time I sat and enjoyed their restaurant outside. The seating was amazing. We had a beautiful ocean view and right on the water. I like that they offer both menus from Larsen and FIN when dining outside. There is a little bit of everything you can choose from. I was able to try their sushi today and really enjoyed it. The quality of the sushi was very fresh and buttery. I would definitely get it again. We tried one of the cocktails called strawberry fields and it was very flavorful!! The overall experience was great! Our server was very friendly as well. Beautiful location in Laguna beach. This is definitely a go to spot for me!

THE BEAT SUSHI EXPERIENCE YOU WILL GET IN SOUTH OC. Better than sushi I've had in Los Angeles, even at Nobu.

You will not be disappointed Sam park and his apprentice Sam are premier sushi chef and they are a diamond in the rough! You will not find a better Sushi experience in OC hands down!!!!! I'm a veteran in the food industry I've lived in Beverly Hills for 4 years had the best and the worst ! I give credit when credit is due! .....IT's AMAZING!!!!!

OUTSTANDING sushi. Ordered this on a whim, but ended up being one of the most pleasant surprises of 2023. Incredibly fresh fish and expertly crafted rolls. The only explanation is that Hotel Laguna has kidnapped Nobu himself and enlisted him to work in their sushi kitchen. Highly recommend!

We often go for the happy hour specials although we've sampled widely in the menu. Yesterday we enjoyed four delicious Nigiri, the Chef's special role, and the chicken Karaage. The Nigiri were fresh and included salmon, steelhead, Hamachi, and another fish that I can't remember, but it was delicious. Each was served with the perfect amount of garnish and required absolutely no tamari. The chef's roll had a tempura bean in the middle and then Hamachi on top with a beautiful lemon aïoli. It sounds odd, but it was scrumptious. The chicken karage is always crisp and delicious and served with a nice aïoli on the side. We have been to this restaurant probably 15 times sometimes just us and often with a large family group. It never disappoints. The service is super nice and friendly with a lot of expertise. (I would love it if they were more specific on how to find the location on their website!) We walked in and the hostess was nice enough to seat us right away although we didn't have a reservation + we were only allotted 1 hour and 30 minutes prior to their next reservation which was doable for us. We ordered a few rolls and to be completely honest they were just weird. One roll had fish eggs on top (which can be normal for sushi) but it did not pair well with the flavor profile of the roll. The chicken karaage was definitely just slightly breaded and tasted very bland although it can be very tasty + juicy at other restaurants I've been to. The only thing I loved out of everything we ordered was the sauce that came with the shrimp tempura- it was savory plus creamy. I almost wanted to have the sauce with the chicken! According to the server, this restaurant makes the majority of their items in house. Could possibly be the reason why everything wasn't the best. The restaurant is a little pricey as well!

For reference, this was my Google review: "It wasn't nearly good enough--neither the food nor the experience--to justify treating customers poorly. The chef seems to lack self-awareness. Message me if you are curious about the details. Happy to share with anyone." Now the owner is claiming my review is "false" and says he's taking legal action. He told me I need to read their "policy." I'm sorry--but I go to a restaurant for the food and experience, not to study policies. He also accused me of making people uncomfortable because I tried to take a picture of my boyfriend on his birthday. The whole time I was there, I already felt like I was walking on thin ice--and now it's very clear why. So now what--people can't leave honest reviews without fear of being threatened with legal action? He sent me his lawyer's contact information and said it's "not a threat." Then what is it? It honestly feels like he just wants me to delete my review. I won't be touching it. I will never go back to this restaurant. And people should be aware--if you leave a negative review, you might get contacted by the owner with a lawyer involved. This is on another level. Truly unbelievable. If you truly want to resolve this situation, an apology would be far more appropriate than threatening me.

Chef Miki Izumisawa is the only female sushi chef I know of to this day, and still consider her one of my heroes. She is an artist at heart, getting inspiration from nature to create unique nigiri, cut rolls and hand rolls. She has trained more female sushi chefs to execute her masterpieces, and it's really awesome to see these bad ass women challenging Japanese gender norms! Traditional nigiri run about $7, whereas, fusion nigiri are priced around $8, so I suggest trying fusion pieces, which are thoughtfully crafted with house-made sauces and flavorful garnishes. I recently came with four friends around 5pm and was graciously seated outside. We each ordered the Sexy Hand Roll and a cut roll to share and that seemed to be enough. We also tried the Toro Fusion nigiri, Tuna Fusion nigiri with spicy miso and chili paste as well as a recommended appetizer of seared albacore and a delicious gingery, garlicky sauce. Each bite of everything had umami, texture, fragrance, and beauty, playing with all our senses. The restaurant is teeny tiny, and only open from 4:30-8:30pm, so I recommend arriving when they open or make a reservation 24 hours in advance. Note that they only take reservations at 5pm though. Street parking is metered and a bit pricey and challenging being close to Main Laguna, but so worth the hassle!

I was here last night and couldn't get a table which was fine so I left. But tonight there attitudes were no different. And the compote complements it perfectly, although I always wish there was more. The little mint leaves are also a wonderful bit of added flavor.
