Well, I had another Uber Eats delivery from Finale and they did not disappoint! Seriously these meatballs are so good and they reheat very well. Of course I had to have the wings again. I love them and I love the Caesar salad with their pancetta. This time there were pieces of pancetta versus the slices, but it was just as good. Their homemade dressings are wonderful and oh my God I ate the fried chicken cutlet in like five minutes. They slice it for you to put on the salad, but I picked the pieces up like French fries and dipped it in the dressing! Excellent food. read more

Stopped in for lunch after hearing they do pizza by the slice at lunchtime. I was hoping for a quick in-and-out. That did not happen. I ordered a slice of cheese and was told it would be right out - 30 minutes later the slice came out. I honestly still do not understand how a slice takes that long. I probably would have gotten it faster if I ordered a whole pizza. As for the pizza itself, it was fine. Solid 7 out of 10. Nothing bad, nothing memorable. Slices are huge. Unfortunately it is not good enough to justify that kind of wait, so I am unlikely to come back in person. I would do Uber Eats delivery. Best pizza in the Charlotte area!!! Heard so many great reviews on this on social media so stopped in for some pizza after my son's lacrosse game today at Ballyntine Ridge HS with some friends. The owner came out and told us about the place before we ordered and recommended the well done since he heard we were from NY, NJ and Connecticut. The place is real cute inside with bar seating and a handful of people tables and immaculate bathrooms. Now for the food! We ordered the vodka pie, a plain pizza and the Sweety Pie pizza and they were all delicious!! Crust, sauce and cheese brought back great memories of some of the best places in NY and Connecticut that I've had. My husband and I walked in at 12:20 on the 4th- Asked to be seated and we were directed to the bar instead of the table directly in front of us - When we asked if we could sit at the open and set (meaning it didn't need to be cleared and set) table in front of us we were told it was being saved for a bigger party. Absolutely incredible pizza. The ingredients tasted super fresh, the crust was perfect, and everything we had was genuinely delicious. The indoor decor is simple, clean, and very Instagramable without trying too hard. My only disappointment is that the pizzas only come in one size. I've been ordering Inizio's since I moved to Charlotte -- they make one hell of a pizza. But I always yearned for a good old, traditional NY slice and would often have to drive over 30 minutes to find a decent one. So I was intrigued when I heard the masterminds behind Inizio had opened a NY-style pizza spot. I ordered two pies and made the journey over to see what it was all about. Finale is a cozy spot -- a few stools at the counter and maybe 10 tables. It's clean, got an old-school 50's feel and I could see myself doing lunch here regularly. IF the pizza was worth it...and that it was. This is the best NY-style pizza in Charlotte for my money. No I haven't been to Due Amici's and maybe one other spot folks say I should try but I've been to plenty others and I did live in NYC for most of my life so I know what a great slice is. Finale has that NY style -- they nail the crust. But there is a freshness to the ingredients that you may not usually get in an NY style pizza. That may not make sense to many but iykyk. Been back two times since that first visit and I'm liking it so much that I'm even considering trying some of the pastas on the menu as well. I'll keep you posted. read more

Heard good things about this place so I decided to give it a try. Glad I did! The Hornet Pizza didn't disappoint! Crust was light and crisp and the pepperoni was the cup and char type. Popped by Finale on a Saturday afternoon around 2:30. The parking was plenty, the place was small, but cute, and the employees were very warm and welcoming. A few things to note- they only sell pizza by the slice 11-2. You use a QR code to order. The size of the inside is not very accommodating for a larger party. Being a NYer, finding a great pie has been a challenge of mine since moving here. Finale did not disappoint. The mozzarella sticks and marina sauce were tasty and the white pie had a very subtle, but enjoyable lemon flavor from the little bit of zest they top the pie with. I also appreciated the sesame seed crust. That really brought back memories of Friday pizza at my Nana's house. I am looking forward to my next trip back! read more

Given Finale is the NY pizza offshoot of Inizio and their Neapolitan pies, I figured it would be good and I figured right. However, I didn't expect THIS good. Ran in for a quick couple slices at lunchtime, one cheese, one pepperoni and both were outstanding. This is a cosy place with limited bar seating. There are a couple larger tables for families in the middle and could probably squeeze together tables against the wall if needed. It's made to feel like an old school diner. Service is order at the counter style and they bring it out to you. Now the pizza. Came expecting more flavors like their sister restaurant, Inizio, and wasn't there. The crust was tough after being warmed. It felt tearing it by my teeth and in public that is not the look we are going for. We saw Finale Pizza on IG and decided to drive up to Charlotte to try it. Upon arrival we realized it was a big space. Two tables a bar area to sit and another area with a bench and 2 tables. There is no drink dispenser. They offer bottled drinks which for me is perfect as we don't have to worry about it being flat. We made it in time to the order lunch which were the slices for us and a side salad we split. My wife ordered a slice of the Parma and a pepperoni. I ordered 2 slices of pepperoni. Her Parma was amazing. Our pepperoni we had to ask for other slices. One of the managers was very apologetic and remade them and explained how sometimes it can get burnt from being sent back through the oven to heat. Totally understandable however we didn't like the burnt bottom. So you'll see our pics of burnt versus the not so burnt. The pizza overall was so good. The cheese melted perfectly. Now knowing how to order we would probably just gluey the whole pie and eat it later. They gave us some chocolate chip cannolis on the house and they were really good as well. Yes, yes, a million YESSES. We'd heard about this place for quite some time and we kept putting it off - until yesterday. We had a Friday night sporting event to attend on that side of town, so I instantly remembered and was excited to give this place a shot. They've been brilliant in optimizing the square footage and they were all super friendly upon arrival. Not only friendly, but clear with the directions on how to order, timing, etc. it's not cheap (but quality isn't, right?) we started with the mozz sticks and they were smaller than we are used to in most italian joints, but I liked the idea of small sticks (didn't get overstuffed ahead of the pizza)! We also ordered a pizza (and yes, these bad-boys are big). We figured we'd get creative and tried vodka pizza with half meatballs. I'm not even kidding, we each took our first bite and instantly knew this was our new favorite pizza. It's a balance of crunchy/chewy crust, the sauce was perfect (no extra sauce of added parmesan cheese needed). it was DELIGHTFUL. The meatballs weren't overwhelming and didn't steal the show. We happily took a few slices home and I can now confirm it's equally as tasty the next day for breakfast (teenager confirmed!) Thank you Finale for offering a quality option in Ballantyne (on that side of the south-side). We love Inizios as well, but it's not always the easiest for us to get to. Service was very nice and friendly in a clean pizza parlor but based on the price and quality of the food, we would rather go to Harris Teeter for their pizza and cannolis. Ok, don't even know where to start. Everything was amazing, the staff was so friendly and the food was outstanding. Went there last night with my wife and son and we sat at the counter. It is cozy for sure and not a lot of seating so potentially be prepared to wait for a spot. However, the wait is worth it. The meatballs were out of this world, the mozzarella sticks were so fresh and the sauce was terrific. We split the bolognese and the chicken parm for dinner. The bolognese was so good. Fresh homemade pasta as well. As for the chicken parm, we'll, it was simply one of the best I've ever tasted anywhere. Capped it off with the cheesecake, which is a must. We liked Finale! They sell pizza slices from 11-2 every day which is a great way to try different pizzas. Our favorite was the Hornet slice but beware it is spicy! The crust was crunchy not floppy and everything had great flavor. The large Caesar salad was enough for 2 people to share and we loved the crunchy breadcrumb topping. The pasta is homemade and we enjoyed the penne alla vodka sub rigatoni. The interior is really small but we got there around noon on a Saturday and had our pick of seats. We sat down at the table and someone brought us a pitcher of water for self refills and you scan a QR code to place your order. From the crew behind Inizio comes their new spot, Finale--a chill little joint in Ballantyne serving up New York-style slices. It's tucked away in a low-key strip, so it feels like one of those places you kind of stumble upon when you're hungry and want something easy away from congestion. If you know me, you know I love Inizio. Their Neapolitan pies are some of my absolute favorites in Charlotte. So when I found out they were branching out into NY-style pizza, I had to see what was up. The menu is straightforward: a handful of pies (by the slice or whole), plus some pastas, salads, and small plates. We went on a Sunday afternoon and the vibe was super relaxed--no crowd, no stress finding a table. Ordering is all through a QR code at your seat, which I actually dig. No waiting for a server, no flagging anyone down--it makes the whole thing feel more laid back. Staff was friendly too, which never hurts. Now for the slice itself -- I went classic: a plain NY cheese. It was about $6 after tax and came out in around 10 minutes, nice and hot. The dough hit that sweet spot between thin and chewy, and it had a good fold to it (a must for any NY slice). If I'm being picky, the bottom could've used more crisp--that classic crunch you get in New York--but flavor-wise, it delivered. For Charlotte, this is a solid NY slice. Overall? Finale isn't trying to be Inizio 2.0--it's a different lane altogether and that's ok. Honestly, I'm glad they went for it. Charlotte doesn't have a ton of great New York-style pizza options in my opinion, and Finale scratches that itch in a really approachable way. Justin and his team are running a flawless operation with a family feel. They work together and it shows in every dish that comes out of Chef Niko's kitchen. The cheese pizza with the cup pepperoni was perfectly cooked and beyond delicious! Our server, Prince, is an asset to this location. He has a personality made for working with the public in the service industry. Prince made sure my friend and I had the best dining experience, he is a beautiful soul. At lunch, the entire pizza menu is available by the slice, a great option for those wanting variety. However, during dinner, you can only order whole pies or plain slices, which streamlines the experience but may limit options for slice lovers. The menu has shareable sides, NY-style pizzas, pasta dishes, wings, and desserts. One aspect worth noting is how orders are placed. Rather than being waited on, you scan a QR code assigned to your table, browse the digital menu, place your order, and make modifications directly on the ordering page. While this is undeniably convenient, I found myself missing the warmth of human interaction when dining in. My Order: Plain Slice: The plain slice arrived first, served piping hot. It had an excellent undercarriage with no char and just the right amount of golden-brown perfection. The crust was foldable with minimal flop, and the cheese-to-sauce ratio was spot on. Speaking of the sauce, it leaned towards the sweeter side, which is exactly how I like it. If you're a fan of NY-style pizza, this slice ranks among my preferred pizza options in the Charlotte area. Caesar Salad: Next came the side Caesar salad. The romaine lettuce was crisp and chopped finely. It was topped with crispy breadcrumbs for a delightful crunch and a cloud-like mound of finely shredded Parmesan cheese. The combination was crisp, fresh, and flavorful. Side of Meatballs: The side of three meatballs were generously sized served with a red sauce. The flavor was rich and well-seasoned. Texture-wise, the meatballs were on the softer side of medium, which is a matter of personal preference, I usually prefer them a bit firmer. That said, these meatballs outshine many others I've tried in the area and are well worth ordering. Baked Ziti: I didn't get a chance to dig into the baked ziti yet, as I packed it up to enjoy as lunch the next day. The pacing of the meal was a little odd. My plain slice came out first, followed by the Caesar salad. The side of meatballs and baked ziti arrived shortly after but were packed to-go as I had requested. I'm looking forward to returning to try their wings and cannoli, two items that are high on my radar for next time. Finale Pizza is definitely worth a visit. While the lack of traditional table service might not be everyone's cup of tea, the flavors more than make up for it. read more

We visited Finale Pizza on a Friday evening and had a fabulous experience. Service was extremely friendly and prompt. Forgot to take pictures of everything. We started with the Straciatella Focaccia (delishhhhh) and Caesar salad (pic is after we had already eaten some). It was so fresh and tasty.
