This is the restaurant inside The Canopy by Hilton. We had a credit to the restaurant so we decided to have brunch instead of going out one day. It was towards the end of service on a weekday so we were the only ones dining at that time. We started off with some latte's and an order of deviled eggs. For entrees we got the french toast and the shrimp and grits. The french toast had peaches on it (if I remember correctly) and my dish was loaded with shrimp and sausage. I was a little hesitant due to several low reviews, but boy, am I glad I went. Upon entering, I was greeted with a smile. The manager Chase was AMAZING and took excellent care of us the entire night. We were staying at the hotel for one night where Nine & Fettle is located and decided on a nightcap in the bar. It's a nicely designed boutique-y space that matches the overall flare of the hotel. We were just looking for drinks and their cocktails looked pretty fabulous. Watching the bartender actually make them to was a pretty fun production, especially when he got into double-handed shaking mode. The drinks we got were okay. We selected the Pirate Jenny IV and the Down But Nut Out cocktails. Both were beautiful to look at, but not sweet at all and a little hard to drink. I'm not a fan of an overly sweet cocktail but both of these lacked any kind of sweet element to balance out the other flavors and make them go down a little more easily. There are also many other cocktails we could have chosen so it's possible others have a little bit more balanced flavor profile. Kudos also to them for having a "mocktails" section so anyone who doesn't drink can feel included in the fun. Although we didn't eat anything I loved that their food menu not only had plenty of options for vegetarians and gluten-free diners and those items are prominently labeled as such. (This was just the bar menu too...there are more such options don't the main dinner menu.) Not sure if this place is a destination on its own, but you'll do well if you're staying at the hotel to stop in for a meal, snack or drink. read more

This location is located inside the Canopy Hotel (Hilton Brand). The service was impeccable! I had Alex as a waitress and Dom as my bartender and they were amazing! I ordered the Chicken Salad Croissant with fresh fruit and a Melondramatic for a beverage. The staff was AHHMAZING!! They offered great options and the food was so good! You have the option to eat from the bar, a table or you can take it to go to your room! While restrictions are loosening up, they still require a mask until you are eating and drinking unless sitting outside. read more

I was very excited to try Fine & Fettle, as I had heard good things about the restaurant and that it should be on your list of places to try for brunch. However, my experience was relatively average. Although, I came on a Sunday morning during a time when only a couple others were in the restaurant - service was slow. Additionally, my food was a little burnt and the coffee was we had was old, so we had to request them to make a fresh batch. Perhaps I just came on an off day in terms of service and food. So this is going to be a COVID grading scale. We ate breakfast here for two days. The service needs some serious improvements for sure. There were not that many tables, but they had two waitresses, and most of the time they were hard to get service out of. The food is different, more yuppy type of breakfast. On the first day, we ordered our food, which was good, but it does take forever. When we ordered, I ordered OJ and my son took two sips of it and stated he did not want it anymore because it tasted bad. Again, not the end of the world. On day two, we ordered our food, the pancakes were definitely not as fresh and yummy as the first day. Was it bad, nah not at all. Was the concept nice, sure was. Do you want to eat here if you are in a rush, not in the least. Would I eat here again, maybe if it was part of my package. We went on a day we thought we would get lunch, and I want to say it was Saturday but it was the weekend and the only have Breakfast till 3pm, which was a little disappointing until we got our food, it was cooked very nicely, it was hot and good and service started a little rocky and he became the best. Telling us about the drinks and the mixologist are very good, the food service was great, I wish I could recall his name and I usually put them in the body of the review and I Was a Bad Elite member for that. I Do recommend this place and there was a wedding shower happening inside and that seems to say a lot about a place. We rolled the dice after church this Sunday morning on this fairly new Southpark restaurant. Yelp reviews were scarce but the few that existed were complimentary. For what it matters, it is attached to a Hilton Canopy hotel but both food quality and service far surpassed the typical hotel fare. The dining area is airy, hip and eclectic but still has a definite "hotel-like feel". (If you like "warm and cozy", this is not the place for you.)  Both the food and service however were excellent. Being new, it was also sparkling clean and everyone was adequately Covid-clad. My wife had the Grit Bowl ($12), which consisted of a bed of perfectly prepared creamy grits, topped with two over easy eggs, two sausage links and wilted collard greens. We both enjoyed it. I went with the Breakfast Burrito ($10),  which was also delicious. It was stuffed with scrambled eggs, chorizo sausage, cheese and hash browns. It was one of the best such burritos that I gave ever eaten. The simple things impressed me Our lattes ($5) were served piping hot and frothy. Our server, Kiana, was friendly and attentive. I don't know about this place. It was in a weird location (basically at the bottom of a retirement community) set back behind office buildings in south park. There was ton of construction going on around the restaurant, so it was hard to spot. Their signage was a small emblem on the brick building. I went with a couple friends for lunch on a Friday afternoon and It was completely empty... we were quite literally, the only people in there and It was 1:00pm. We shared a bottle of Sauvignon blanc and I ordered the crab and corn chowder cup of soup and the Caesar salad. I unfortunately did not take a picture of my salad. It was over dressed and the dressing flavor was very bland. The chowder was really tasty though! It had lumps of crab on top which I was impressed by. Ordering the soup was a bit odd. The menu has 2 choices, the soup of the day or the crab & corn chowder. I asked our waitress what the soup of the day was and she told me "crab & corn chowder". I don't know if she made a mistake or they only had the one kind. Our server was nice but seemed off. She placed our lunch in front of the wrong people, didn't come to give us silverware for the longest time and tried taking my wine glass from me when I wasn't finished with It yet! The first night we just grabbed a couple of drinks at the bar and saw all this amazing food around us we came back the next night for dinner. I ordered the fish of the day which happened to be crab cakes with bacon jam and tomato sauce dropped over the top. It was served with okra and rice. It was amazing and I would order this again anytime time they offered it. They only served one crab cake but it was so lump and full so really equivalent to two. I had such a wonderful experience at Fine &Fettle! Service was really good. Our waitress went above and beyond making sure we were taken care of. We sat outside which was nice. The location was a wee bit confusing to find. Once we found it, we had no idea that was back there! Cocktails were delicious!!! It had tequila and some other fresh flavors and it was good! (Just went online to find the name of it and can't find it on the menu) I LOVED the vibe. There was a DJ and his playlist was fire. Every time he played a song I liked, I immediately downloaded it into my own playlist. Some really good old school jamz!! I was slightly disappointed in the food. The first dish I ordered was the Crab avocado Benedict. It was cold and lacked flavor. Also it was served with browning avocado. :-(. I ate the eggs and crab portion mostly. Fine & Fettle is conveniently located adjacent to the lobby / entrance of one of our favorite hotels to stay in, in Charlotte. We usually have great service experiences at the bar for mimosas and cocktails and recently grabbed a few plates that turned out really good. HubBae enjoyed his wagyu burger and said the medium cook on it was perfect. We shared truffle fries that were pretty good and I loved my mushroom pizza & Carolina gold wings. The bartender recommended we try the wings next time with a mix of Carolina gold & their habanero sauces which I'm looking forward to tasting. A burger, pizzas, and fries seem like kind of basic fare but I love that Fine and Fettle's execution is so elevated and perfect for date night or girls night. read more

Berries, a bit of granola, and just enough brown sugar for flavor without overwhelming taste. The avocado toast, adorned with beautiful watermelon radishes, was off-the-hook good. We went as a girl's group for a weekend brunch. It was a little difficult to find this place. When I pulled up to the door looking for parking, the attendant said there was ONLY valet available and no other way to park. However, everyone else I met at brunch parked in the deck for free. The restaurant is located right in the back as you walk in to the hotel. You can see it immediately. I absolutely LOVED the décor of this restaurant! It was light, airy, beautiful with large windows and great natural light. The menu is kind of small. Two of us ordered the sweet potato pancakes. The place was about 1/2 full when we were there, and everyone else's order at our table came out except for our pancakes. The server did mention they were making a new batch for us and acknowledged the delay. We appreciated that, but we ordered something pretty basic that doesn't take too long to cook so not sure what was going on back there at the kitchen. Once it finally came it tasted great. This restaurant is in the Canopy Hotel in Southpark. We went on a Sunday afternoon not realizing it was a part of the hotel. We walked in and no hostess was available to seat us. We asked the bartender to seat us. The first server came to take our orders. A second server came over to introduce herself and she was not familiar with the menu; but delivered the food to our table. When the food came it was partially incorrect. They forgot our coffee and eggs and forgot that we were splitting an order. No one ever came back to check on us to ask if the food was enjoyable or if we needed more coffee or water. The second server couldn't remember who ordered what and came out to ask us. She then brought out the bill minutes later and thanked us for coming. The staff of all young people kept making loud outburst in the back and it was hard to tell who was the manager. We definitely won't return to eat here again and if this is an indication of how the hotel is ran I won't stay here either. The only good thing I can report is how good the sweet potato pancakes were and the cocktail but the service needs a lot of improvement. read more

The tables were clean and we were seated right away. I did make a reservation but we didn't really end it because it wasn't crowded at the time. We ordered the pizza and chicken and waffles. There wasn't a lot of GF food items and the food didn't blow us away. It was a fairly average meal. There are other restaurants with more options at a more reasonable price in the area. The pizza was good though and super spicy. The waffle was nice and crispy. The chicken was fried well and it was very juicy. The syrup was very bitter and I didn't use it. The service was just ok. We waited probably 20+ minutes to get our bill and pay. It took longer to pay than it did to get the food which was a little odd. It's worth a try if you're in the area. read more

We did a quick "brunch near me" search and ended up at Fine and Fettle. It's located inside of Canopy. There was very limited street parking and very limited parking for the hotel/ hotel restaurant. Valet is free for the first two hours but it was freezing and it took awhile for valet to come back so I parked in a restricted area and prayed that I didn't get towed lol! So, when you walk in, the restaurant is to your left. It reminded me of a small coffee shop but the menu read like a true restaurant. I ordered the chicken and waffles. It took awhile for the food to arrive but when it did, I got excited! When I took a bite of the waffle it tasted sour, like a lemon. I called the waiter over and said "excuse me, is this supposed to be a lemon waffle?" He said hmmmm no but let me check the ingredients. He came back and said "it's not lemon but the chef said there's citrus in the buttermilk". Oooh k. Pause. That should be noted on the menu lol! Today was the day I found out I don't like a citrus waffle. It literally tasted like the sour patch kids made a waffle. The chicken was fried to perfection but I guess It was fried in the same batter. I was not a fan at all of brunch today. You can dine here for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner! Cheerwine and hot sauce belong together, especially on Fine & Fettle's signature sandwich! This relatively new restaurant in South Park has a tasty lunch menu, which will be changing in January. Luckily, this fried hen and the turkey sandwich aren't going anywhere. Fried Hen Sandwich: Slaw, pickles, Cheerwine hot sauce, and fries. It's super juicy and has a lovely sweet and spicy flavor! The fries are also absolutely perfect. This is a hidden gem of a restaurant. It is located in the new Hilton Canopy hotel on Barclay Downs. To start this place is beautifully decorated. We went on a weekday and it wasn't busy. We got sat right away and had great service. We started with an order of truffle fries and mussels and these were fantastic. We got some extra bread to dip in the mussels sauce and this bread was so flavorful. If you go for dinner make sure you order the rigatoni. It is a simple dish but just full of flavor. You will want to eat it all I promise!! I paired it with a great glass of wine. They have a good cocktails and a variety of wines! I have to say they do have excellent customer service. The staff definitely made sure to take care of us and that we were enjoying our time here and that our order was just how we expected. I want to come back for brunch since that menu looks amazing! Normally they are pretty busy for brunch so I would recommend getting a reservation. You can do a reservation on Resy and choose to sit indoors or outdoors. Can't wait to be back for more! read more

Service is slow and inaccurate. The grain bowl was served without any grains, came so late that one person had to take it to go, and the manager would not take the charge off the bill. We were also told multiple times that protein was included in the grain bowl, but we were charged for it anyway. (We did get that charge removed from the bill.) Monday night's bolognese was one of the worst meals I have ever had anywhere. I got sick to my stomach and only finished a third of the plate. 70.00 for two and we didn't feel like we were appreciated as customers. No wonder it's always empty. This restaurant is such a hidden gem. It's a little off the beaten path and hard to find if you are driving - the GPS doesn't quite know where it is on the map, but if you find the Hilton Canopy you are there. The ambiance inside is beautifully decorated and is so cozy, cheery, and bright. The floor length windows, along with the comfy booths and chairs, the fireplace, and the coffee/tea bar put you instantly at ease. The menu has some unique items that are beautifully presented. The food is very good, just wish the portions were a tad larger for the price. I also wish they would add a chocolate item to their dessert menu (like chocolate cake). Please don't let the fact that Fine & Fettle is a "hotel restaurant" put you off from trying it. You won't feel like you are in a hotel while you are there. The vibe is hip and upbeat and the bar is really beautiful. The food is delicious and the service is warm and friendly. We have enjoyed breakfast and lunch here, and are looking forward to dinner sometime soon as well. The menu offers a nice variety of options and they have a creative cocktail list too. So, next time your favorite Southpark area restaurant has no reservations available for the next two weeks, come on over to Fine & Fettle. Fantastic food and was reasonably priced! For two of us we had breakfast and coffee for under $30. I had the sweet potato pancakes- very decadent and delicious. My husband had the Farmer's Breakfast. The grits were so cheesy and creamy. It's located inside the Canopy hotel so you are right in the lobby which is the only (slight) downside. We will definitely be goin back! read more
