I wouldn't say the food is top-notch, but it does the trick if you're looking for somewhere to kick your feet up and enjoy a few drinks. The reason for my "lower than average" score is the service. We sat at a table outside for a good 15 minutes before anyone even came by to check on us. It wasn't terribly busy, so it seemed a little odd that we weren't seen sooner. I came into this location this past Monday (Labor Day) with another party during happy hour to get some light bites and a beverage. What I got: Fried Pickles I love deep-fried pickles because of their salty taste and crunchy breadcrumb coating. For those who have not had the experience of having these appetizers at the movies or at your local pub, they are similar to fried zucchini or fried green beans. However, these pickles were soggy and heavy with oil. Unfortunately, because of this, the vast majority of the pickles were left on the table. Boneless Chicken Wings I elected to go with the Peach Habanero wings. Although it is still blazing HOT outside, I thought by ordering these, I could trick my mind into thinking it is really fall as everybody knows that peach habanero wings officially kick off the first football Sunday. These wings offered a good combination of sweet with a mild kick, but the wings were limp. Aside from the two menu items, I ordered a house wino and a soft drink. We enjoyed a great lunch at Finley's upon arriving at Round Rock for our trip to Kalahari. They have a great outdoor area to sit outside, and it is covered. Another outdoor area that is shaded and has a bar. Restrooms are outside close to the seating area. Lots of street parking available and a lot of things to explore before and after. Stopped by for an after work Happy Hour and was thoroughly impressed! We went on a Thursday at about 3 pm, there were about 3 other tables and our server was very helpful with checking in and providing recommendations. They have indoor and outdoor seating, but we opted for inside. We ordered the loaded fries, brussel sprouts, and fried pickles, all of which were only $10! The loaded fries were smothered in shredded cheese and house queso then topped with green onion. I'm really surprised to see such high reviews. Maybe today was an off day? I took my mom out to eat and we typically meet up in Round Rock or Georgetown. Today she picked Finleys because they had a dog friendly patio and wanted to bring her dog. I wish we had tried another restaurant instead. Since this was a "seat yourself" we originally chose a wooden picnic table in a corner. We didn't see any waiters/waitresses around so we moved to other side of the patio that was covered. A waiter arrived to take our drink order and we requested the table be cleaned. After receiving our drinks we noticed the waiter leaving the restaurant with 2 women. We assumed his shift ended and someone else would wait on us. After 10-15 minutes of waiting I walked inside to ask if someone was taking orders outside. Shortly after, our original waiter returned to take our order. I wanted the chicken and waffles, but they "ran out" of waffles. Are these pre-made waffles? I ended up getting the breakfast bruschetta. My order came out first which was very odd! I'm not sure why both of our orders didn't come out together. The breakfast bruschetta was horrorible. This was our first time coming to Finley's. We were a party of 6 (2 kids included) and around 6ish there wasn't much space inside for us to sit, so we sat outside where there were bench-like seating arrangements that could fit our party perfectly. It was still hot during this time, but the outdoor fans did help a little to keep air moving. Our server was nice and mostly attentive. We started with loaded French fries as an appetizer--they were delicious! Cheese was melted and the bacon on top was nice and crispy. I'm a big mac n cheese lover, so I asked our server if he would recommend a burger or the Brisket Mac n Cheese entree--he stated the Mac n cheese was the way to go, so I trusted his judgement. Unfortunately the dish was super bland, not much flavoring whatsoever. It was well-portioned, but it honestly didn't taste like anything. I added salt to it to at the least get some type of flavor. Very happy to share that after a terrible experience (after having been a long time happy customer) that Finley's came through big time with great service recently. I wasn't planning on returning any time soon after the last visit but a good friend had a birthday party and guess where it was... So I showed up and man did the staff take care of us. All new folks verses who I dealt with at my last visit. We had reserved tables on the back patio and got started on the food and drinks. We had 20 or so people having a big ole time but then a few in our group got chilly with the weather. They didn't hesitate to offer us a new section on the covered patio when the plastic screens down. The hey moved us and our tab to the front and we continued on having a great time. The staff was very accommodating and quick with an our drink orders. They didn't flinch at opening multiple tabs for us and the food was delicious. First, and best, is the location and the fact it allows pets in outdoor areas. The restaurant also actually has its own dog water bowls, although our server never offered us one and we only found out about them from a patron who was leaving. The service was, well, just plain bad. The unfortunate thing is the food was much worse. We had brisket (which is oven made and there was about a 1 ounce portion on the chips) nachos which were the worst I have ever had (Nachos Bel Grade beats these by 200%). The kids had dry cod fish and chips, burnt sweet potato fries, and some not very good brisket (see above) tacos. So sad, because it has such potential. Also, you are looking at $18--$25 per entre, which is gross for what you get. Oh, it also took over an hour to get the food out. So, we will never go back. read more

My friend tagged me on their Facebook post recently and we definitely had to check it out. They have outside and inside space with Tvs and a solid selection of food and drinks. I went to drink some bourbon and they had quite the selection. I had a 2oz pour of Russell's reserve 13 and my fiance had 3 peach bourbon mules. I also tried knob creek maple for fun but want to go back to try a bunch of other stuff. They also had all the wellers up to wlw in addition to gts and thh as well as garrison brothers, bookers, and pappy. For food, our waitress Lindsey recommended the sausage and pretzels and she was definitely on point. It came with mustard and beer cheese and was delicious and filling. We also split the sweet heat burger which had a lot of flavor and some nice heat. I feel really bad about this review but it's the truth. We have been so excited about trying Finley's for the first time. When my Husband went to pick up, he texted me saying, "this place looks great! We should come eat at their patio sometime!" The food was not enjoyable. The tots were so salty that nobody ate them. I usually add salt to most things but I had to leave them. The kids didn't like them either. The kids burgers were the best bites of our order. I ordered a patty melt which was supposed to have 2 patties. $16 so it made sense. Unfortunately mine did not have 2 patties (see pic). I don't know how to even describe the 2nd patty. It was like something leftover on the grill that was stuck on top of the regular patty. It was also VERY salty. My husband got their special burger, "Sweep the leg." He likes all of the flavors that described the burger but the burger itself was (you guessed it) salty and strange tasting. I'm so very disappointed. I was hoping to love it but we didn't. Look at my pics. The food looked great (with the exception of my missing patty/weird bit of beef) but definitely didn't taste that way. Hopefully it was a off day. Service was pretty good. I hated the food, and they were nice enough to take it off my check even when I didn't ask. I was there with a larger group for brunch. The chicken and waffles looked like the best thing, and everyone who ordered it enjoyed it. Everything else was the issue. The brisket in the hash looked gray and somehow both over and undercooked. Tasted vaguely of vomit. The bruschetta that my friends ordered was both small and bland. The omelettes were mid at best. The ingredients fell out of the folds as you tried to eat. Finally, the dishes didn't look clean. My friend sent back a coffee cup with lipstick on the rim. She wasn't wearing any. I go here a lot and usually just get a beer and some cheese curds which are phenomenal. But the experience today may make me look for a new spot. read more

I've been here over 50 times, as we live in the area. Finley's is a great local spot for brunch, beer and yummy grilled dishes. They have a burger of the week special that is specialty ingredients and always has fun names that go along with it. I have tried almost the whole menu here and can genuinely say that I've enjoyed everything that I've had to eat here. Servers are friendly, open seating typical (I think Sunday is the only day with a host but I could be wrong). They have two outdoor patios - the front one is covered and has vinyl walls that can be put down if it's cold or raining, the back patio has fans, a bar, and plenty of seating. Both patios are dog friendly and Finley's even provides water bowls for your fur baby. The four stars instead of five is simply due to some minor things that are not my preference - the bathrooms are in a separate building and do not have air conditioning. You can only use the hand dryer and paper towels are not available even though there is a dispenser. Inside we usually sit at the bar, and there's usually fruit flies wandering about. I know this is just due to having so many sweet ingredients and know that they can be a pain to get rid of, but they are not pleasant to have about. *Edited to add that the AC has been fixed in the restroom. read more

Popped in to Finley's right when they opened and sat at the bar top. Great service, both bartender and lunch server were so kind and greeted their guests promptly with such genuine hospitality. Overall a really warm, inviting atmosphere! I was really impressed with the beer options, just a lot of solid choices there. Sampled two and got the cream ale which was great. Bartender suggested I get a burger, so I got the smash burger. Huge portion! Was expecting a little smaller as smash burgers typically are but this thing was big! Would have preferred a thinner, greasier burger tbh for a smash burger- with some kind of burger sauce. It was a good burger, but not a great burger. I really liked the pickles, but I probably wouldn't order a burger again here. I loved the blackberry bbq sauce, so I definitely will get some wings with that on it next time!! Since I moved to this area in January, I've visited Finley's three times. The first time, it took two hours to get my food. They were having a rough night, but I'm in the industry, so I stuck around. The food was solid, so I decided to give it another chance. The second time I went, I arrived an hour and a half before their posted closing time and was informed that food was no longer being made. It was annoying, but I figured , ok, early closes happen. Last night, I called Finley's to confirm that they were serving until 10:00 p.m. and was told by the young lady I spoke to that yes, they were. We arrived at 8:45 p.m., and the woman we spoke to told us that they were closing and was rude about it. Despite the fact that their posted hours clearly stated that they were open until 10:00 p.m. I don't know who's running this place, but I would suggest that the entire staff be informed about the closing time and that the correct hours be posted online as well as on your door, and your staff knows when they're on the clock. read more

Nice little spot! Our daughter turned 17 and wanted to eat at a pet friendly restaurant, so we checked this place out. We went on a Sunday afternoon. Parking was good and easy to access the front door from any spot. The outdoor seating was very nice and accommodating for a table of 8, plus a Pup. There are fans all around the outdoor seating area which made 90+degrees during A Texas summer feel like a doable 85! It was actually really nice! The service was excellent and the food was pretty good. We started with apps, loaded fries and brisket queso. The fries were good but the queso was hardly queso-ish. It was thick like velveta once it cools, which was not so appetizing or dipable. The brisket was also very dry and stringy. However, the entrees were good. We tried the June Burger, wings, brisket Mac& cheese, premium chili dog patty melt and build your own burgers. All of our entrees were very good. But I must say it's a little pricey. Nothing we ordered was under $16 including the premium hotdog, and the burgers were around $20. Also if you have a party of 8 or more, be prepared to pay 20% gratuity! But overall a nice place. I had 2 drinks when I went to close out. She handed me the machine where she designed herself a 30% tip. For real Finley's? I did all the work and paid for over priced drinks. Isn't the charge of making said drinks part of the cost? I can see 20% but 30%, I won't be back. I should have paid myself the 30% as I did the work. I have no problem with a 30% tip is you come to my table and take my order and bring it to me. You are out pricing people to visit your business. You can do better than that. Employees should not be designated their own tips. I know most people don't look so it's a win for your bartenders but bad for your business. read more

The queso was good, the brisket burn ends made it feel tough to eat. I got the Honey Hot Bone In wings a, they do not have with any fries or side dishes. Just celery. I did not like the wings, the chicken was juicy but I couldn't taste the flavor of the wings. It was a bit dry(sauce). The Patty Melt was good, the Sweet Potatoe fries were so delicious. The service wasn't good and it was bad. Lol Our server was chatting up with another customer on the patio. So the other servers helped us for our needs/wants.
