We took advantage of the happy hour but ended up staying longer. I'd been curious about this place since they replaced my beloved Italian restaurant that used to be here. I loved the masculine decor throughout, paired with the brewery vibe. We ordered: -Blackened Ahi Sandwich (not on HH menu)--This was so good! It's a favorite for a reason, and I highly recommend it. For how picky my mom is, she actually loved this. She wants to come back just for this, lol. They cooked it perfectly; they really have this down. Finney's Burbank is near several other chains - Barney's, Yard House - but the relaxed ambience and excellent menu items are far superior to the mediocrity and hectic atmosphere of their competitors. We made reservations for a Sunday morning. We were seated and served drinks promptly - we both ordered the margarita flight. The four flavours (hibiscus, watermelon, guava, and blood orange) all tasted crisp and fresh, rather than overly sugary like a pre-made mix. They were all delicious, though the watermelon was the stand-out (and I don't even really care for watermelon). We ordered the wagyu burger with regular fries and the bison burger with truffle fries. Both were cooked as we requested. The bison burger was top-notch, dressed with gouda, bacon jam, and mustard aioli, and elevated by spicy cherry peppers. The truffle fries were absolutely phenomenal - I couldn't shovel them into my face fast enough - and both orders of fries were accompanied by a mysterious, delicious spicy ketchup-based sauce. I ordered the hot chicken tenders and they only gave me 3 that was not cooked to perfection, just mediocre chicken. The service however was very good! We sat at the bar and snow the bartender was attentive giving exceptional customer service! The bar was a nice time and good atmosphere. It was pretty busy for a Thursday night so it was cool time. Recently, we decided to try this place. We always see it and try to get in but it's always so crowded. Finally, we were able to try it. To be honest, they didn't have the best service . The waiter kept us waiting to come and welcome us for at least 10 minutes. Then we asked question about the drink menu. He looked lost, and he didn't know exactly how to answer our questions. Finally, we got our drinks and food. It was very fast after ordering, which was surprising. We ordered onion rings and fries for appetizer burgers and salad and taco as main course. My book club had our monthly meeting at Finney's last night. We were seated almost immediately and our orders were quickly taken. I had the prime rib cheesesteak on sourdough bread (they were out of the bread that it usually comes on, so I chose sourdough as an alternate). It was really delicious. I loved the potato chips that it came with. The only disappointing thing was how loud the music was on the patio. It was really hard for us to hear each other. We were a group of seven people who were seated at a picnic table on the patio. There were three people on each side of the table and a chair at the end. We could each hear the person seated next to us but we had to talk in really loud voices and strain to hear anyone who wasn't seated directly next to us. On the plus side, I did love that we could pay on the little device that was placed on our table. We each chose what we had ordered and only paid for those items. That makes going out with a group of people super easy and convenient. When I go back? Yes, 100%. Would I go back with my book club? Probably not. read more

We are out of town staying at a hotel near by and walked past this beautiful restaurant. It was a nice night so we sat outside under the fire lamps and it was absolutely beautiful. We were sat right away and a waitress came to us in a timely manner. I ordered the Cheesesteak Egg Rolls and they were delicious like a deconstructed cheesesteak sandwich served with a hot mustard, a chili sauce and I got a side of ranch. They were so delicious. It was a busy evening on a Saturday during the wine festival in Burbank when we went. So the wait was long as one would expect. I would say I'm not a huge fan of the Yelp wait system there and had expressed that to the seating hostesses and of course they took no responsibility for how it worked because one minute you're waiting 30 mins, then next 25 mins, then second later it says your tables ready when you haven't arrived yet since you're gaging the wait system. So please be aware. Other than that, management denied our friend a beer because he forgot his wallet at home that day, but they didn't want to make an exception even if he looks much older and has other means of proving his age. Didn't help that the waitress who helped didn't help why running it up the ladder instead of finding a means to remedy the situation. We sat by a nice fire pit outside right where some police officers were standing for the big wine event happening which explains why the waitress decided to play it safe. It helped that there were many heat lamps around to warm up the cold outdoors. The food was pretty great as the onion tower was addicting and the burgers were cooked well, serving size was good. The salad however was overdressed and I felt like I was almost drinking the salad dressing. All in all I found the place overcrowded and your typical sports bar that everyone flocks to as the rivals are just as busy. Would I go back? Sure, but not anytime soon. read more

I went there for lunch with my grandson. I added a medium steak in the Meditarian bowl but it came out raw (red) - one strike. When I looked at my emailed receipt at home, it was $5 charge for a raspberry lemonade which I did not order and did not have - a second strike. Our server was Brian. I called the restaurant right away and spoke with their manager, Daniel. He insistent that only one mistake was made (a charge for a raspberry lemonade) but not for the raw steak because I was offered to re-do. He obviously does not value customer's time - I did not want to wait another 30 minutes for the steak cooked the way I ordered it. Daniel promised to take out the overcharge and email me the correct bill. He did not correct my bill. How do I know it? The amount charged to my credit card was not changed to correct the overcharge. He did not email me either. What is a dishonest business with extremely poor customer service! Needless to say that I am not coming back. P.S. Just found out that Finney's is not a franchise. There are two owners-brothers who might appreciate being contacted directly via website by filling out a form. read more

Nice serving of ahi but it was quite bland. I had to ask for extra dressing, but the dressing was very tangy and just a bit too tart so not to my liking. He had the Baja chicken tacos which he said were very tasty and he loved the homemade tortillas. I'd been going semi-regularly for a while now and would have given them a solid 4 stars bordering on 5, but the last time I went I was informed that dishes previously able to be made vegan could not be so anymore. I wasn't clear on whether that means they were never actually vegan, or if recent changes make it impossible to modify. Specifically talking about the cauliflower tacos, which now (always?) use butter. There were a couple other dishes, too though, like the burgers where they offer a vegan patty but the buns and practically all the toppings (other than lettuce, onion, and tomato) can't be done vegan. Literally everything here seems to have butter in it! This left me with a single choice for a meal: an impossible meat taco salad, which still required a few modifications to be vegan. It was kind of bland. It's really too bad: this place has such a great atmosphere, customer service is always great IME, plenty of seating (though the benches are a bit uncomfortable; chairs with backs are always better), and an awesome selection of beers. I want to love this place, but the lack of vegan options -- a shrinking number of them, and/or maybe I was never eating truly vegan here to begin with, which would be really messed up! -- really knocks it down. Especially when there are so many great places with plenty of simple vegan options nearby: Granville, Golden Road, Tony's Darts Away; even Brews Brothers has more options. Here's hoping they take things to heart and add some vegan options to the menu, as I see I'm not the only one who's had this issue here. Vegan food can be done super easily and still be tasty, especially when you already offer salads and alternative patties for burgers. read more

If you're looking for a laid-back brewery-vibe with pretty good pub-food, check this place out. I came here on a Friday night for some casual dining, and it was exactly what I had hoped for. We waited only for about 15mins (or less) which was great for a Friday. It's a laid back, but not TOO laid but where it's not dirty, brewery with a fun vibe. It's slightly noisy, to be expected, as there are TVs all around especially on a night where there's sports on. Our server was very sweet and positive, and came around when we had hoped. Awesome! The food: - waffle chicken bites: got this because it's different from what I usually see on brewery menus. Good flavor, I like the hint of sweetness, but I do wish there was slightly more waffle to match the thickness of the chicken. Overall, I liked it! - black truffle wagyu burger: asked for it to be cooked medium, and it came out as expected thankfully. Good decent burger! The let down: the tatter tots. I don't know if it was a bad batch, but there was something odd in the after taste. - Peggy's chicken sandwich: I don't normally do chicken sandwiches as I find them bland and the sauce needs to really be spot-on to enhance the flavor, but I decided to get this a try. I was slightly disappointed. The slaw & sauce was a bit too light and it turned out to be a bland sandwich. The chips were also just "meh". This place is poppin'! We came upon Finney's while walking around the Burbank area. The location has indoor and outdoor seating + they were playing the Thursday night football game. The ambiance is casual. It's definitely a place to come to with a group of people to enjoy good food and a good time. And the servers were great. Let's get to what you came to read about-the food. I ordered the California Cobb salad. The portion size is more than I could eat in one seating. That Cobb salad was probably the best salad I've ever had. No cap! Mu table also enjoyed the Yuzu Buffalo wings and the Cheesesteak egg rolls. No one in my group was disappointed with our first visit to Finney's.
