I live nearby so finally made sure to stop by Theo's to see what they have to offer! A positive would be the service - I asked what they'd recommend for my first visit and helped me create my order. I tried a classic steak and cheese with peppers, onions, and mushrooms. The size was great, the meat was flavored well, and it was brought right to my table by the cook (empty restaurant ), so overall I was pleased! Didn't take my breath away, but didn't disappoint me. It didn't come with any side, and that was disappointing to me. The restaurant is very clean with an open dining area that appears comfortable. There are 2 TV's. The staff are friendly. Parking is abundant outside on the street (and free). Pricing is reasonable and portion size is good. I'd give it 3.5 stars but i can only choose 3 or 4. Italian sub - Ingredients looks fresh and tasted as expected. Size is good. Nashville hot slider and tender - This is nothing like a place like Dave's Hot Chicken...I was hoping it would be so I gave it a try. It was an admirable attempt but falls short. The chicken is not as crispy or breaded, not spicy at all...nothing like Dave's. If you don't have that expectation, you might still enjoy this. Its a HUGE plate of food that can easily feed 2 people. The fries are excellent...think older school Burger King fries...the ones that were extra crispy with that coating. Fresh Fried Dough - These were made with fresh pizza dough and so good. Really great treat or dessert and I would say is a must try! Great portion size, great taste...soooo good! Got a steak and cheese. They got the bread toasted to perfection, it isnt super greasy and they put the condements on top of the tseak so it isnt sogging through your bread. The tuna melt as well, why are they so good. There are so many places to eat on Trapelo Rd but none compare to Theo's. They have fast service, amazing food and hardly ever get it wrong. My reviews are usually super long and I probably lose you all before the second paragraph. How about a short and sweet review for a change? A few weeks ago I dropped my car off for a detail down the street from Theo's. I decided to stroll around for an hour whole I waited for my car. I was hungry and strolled into Theo's. It was very random and unplanned. I did not even know the little pizza/sub shop existed prior. I wandered in and ordered a turkey sub. The service was pleasant and the food was served up quickly. I found a table and sat down to wait for my order. Since I was all alone I was glad for the wall-mounted tv to distract from the awkward feeling of dining solo. When the sub was ready, the person (perhaps owner?) delivered it to my table- bonus points! It was generously-sized, delicious, and really hit the spot. Everything was great. It's your classic sub shop but I think the quality and quantity of the ingredients elevates it above the other random sub shops in the area. We ordered: -A small pizza- perfectly fine and cheesy. No complaints. -a BLT with a ludicrous amount of thick cut bacon in it, definitely puts the other local places to shame. -a salad with grilled chicken was similarly overflowing with protein- very fresh, hot, just grilled chicken with the little crispy bits included. -and a toasted Italian sub with everything on it and it was a gloriously drippy mess. I used to go to this place to grab a slice or a sub but over the years it has gone down hill. Went there last week and no one behind the counter, just the guy sitting on his phone and going through mail. After waiting for about 10 min thinking maybe he didn't work there and then he comes over and take my order along with another customer order. While we still standing there we never seen the guy wash his hands or even act like he was doing it. He goes straight for the food and starts preparing it. I couldn't go thru with it. I asked for a refund and left. Sorry but no gloves after touching mail, cash and the credit machine then playing with your phone and then making people food. No wonder people get sick. The steak tips here are incredibly flavorful, juicy, and tender. The garlic bread is better than it looks. Steak subs are also good. Buffalo wings are great. I haven't ordered pizza here yet. I don't have frequent cravings for pizza which in Boston might constitute a capital offense. I usually order for delivery via GrubHub or Yelp Eat24, but did pick up once and everyone was nice. Today I made another delivery order and the store called to verify a few things to make sure they got what I wanted correctly - and they really delivered. So give Theo a chance and definitely give those steak tips a try! read more

I usually gravitate towards Theo's menu, when looking through my delivery draw, based on the coupons. There's a good amount of pizza / sub shops in the area, and a lot of them are comparable when it comes to pizza delivery. So it usually comes down to which one's offering the best deals. Their pizza's decent and the delivery has always been in a timely manner. I usually get an order of boneless buffalo wings along with my pizza. The buffalo sauce they use has some pretty decent heat to it. In my opinion, that's really the only thing that makes them stand out from the pack. read more

Pretty damn good! I came in expecting the worst, and experienced a turn-around after wards. The shop is right on Trapelo Road, on the busiest street in Belmont. The place itself is quite nice; spacious, well-renovated, and it has TV's for customers to watch. I originally wanted to go to Angelo's across the street with my friend. I had fond memories of having delicious freshly prepared sandwiches over there. But they did not have the steak & cheese that my friend requested, so we went across the street instead. I ordered a regular turkey sandwich. The turkey was fresh, as if it was straight from the deli. They also hooked it up, putting at least 3 slices into the sandwich, along with fresh, high quality cheese on fresh bread. Theo's is an excellent example of why it is so important to use top quality ingredients when running an eatery. This place is a sharp contrast between most other sandwich shops where they put one slice of old meat with cheap cheese on stale bread the size of a hotdog bun. I was surprised by this place. It's very good! If I still lived near Belmont, this would be the spot to frequent. I'd say this place is better than Angelo's across the street. Definitely stop by here! read more

Ordered a large cheese pizza, garden salad, and small buffalo wings. Nothing was amazing, but nothing was awful either. My major complaint is the pricing. The small buffalo wings alone was $11 before tax. There were 7 wings inside? I've never had a wing worth 1.50 each in my life, and if it exists; I would love to find it. The problem with Greek pizza in general is that it generally varies wildly from great to terrible with nothing in between. Done right, it's a savory treat. Done wrong, well, it tastes like Theo's. The pizza here is utterly disgusting. I literally wouldn't feed this to my dog. The crust on their pizza is greasy and overcooked to a brittle, revolting crisp; it tastes anything but "light and flaky." They use way too much oil. The sauce is about 90% garlic, I guess because it's so flavorless without copious seasoning due to the poor quality of tomatoes used as a base. The cheese tastes old. Very, very old and very flavorless. The whole thing is just clumsy and amateurish. Which is kind of a shame because the people running the place seem perfectly nice. read more

I was disappointed at this restaurant especially since it's 3m walking distance from my home. I ordered pizza with hot sausage- apparently people in Massachusetts don't do "hot sausage"? So I settled for the regular sausage. Anyway, when I got my pizza it didn't look done and the sausage was pretty pale. I was born in Brooklyn, New York so pizza is my thing but Theo's did not impress me at all. I've lived in the area for 4 years now and have tried many different pizza places but theo's is easily my favorite pizza. They have one pizza, the BBQ+Buffalo chicken - it is absolutely amazing The pizza crust is always cooked perfectly and it always quickly arrives and arrives hot. Theo's is definitely the place I recommend to anyone when they are in the market for some pizza EDIT: So here's what happened We place an order for a Honey BBQ Chicken Pizza and an order of mozzarella sticks. 40-50 minutes later we get a text from our old roommate saying that our food just got delivered to the address we used to live at. I doublecheck grubhub and our new, and correct, address is attached to the order. We call Theo's and inform them of this (this has happened previously when we ordered from Theo's last year - they delivered to our old address. Figured they would update their info). Theo's sent us another order to our correct address. When it arrived it was an order of mozzarella sticks aaaaaand a BBQ chicken pizza with onions. Not the Honey BBQ Chicken pizza. We messaged our old roommates and they told us that that pizza was also a BBQ Chicken pizza with onions. So not only was the order sent to the wrong location, it was incorrect. And when it was replaced - it was incorrect. It's a shame because the Honey BBQ Chicken is very good. Theo's is my go to for quick, satisfying and comforting food, either lunch or dinner. I usually go with one of the roll-ups - Pastrami Overdose and Turkey Supreme are awesome. Menu is huge, I'll admit I haven't branched out much. Main downside, I find it pretty pricey compared to other places in the general area for Subs/Roll-Ups. read more

Just called to order for something different. The guy picked up and asked what I'd like. I said lets see, hmm, can I get the.... and was rudely cut off and hung up on. Like the guy couldnt give me 10 seconds. So f@cking rude. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to Belmot Pizza or Lisa's Pizza. These guys are assholes.
