Its a good pie and service is okay... I like my pie well done and piping hot, but they cannot hit the mark.

Happened to stay in Palm Coast on our way to Jupiter and looked for a restaurant close by. We found Fire in the hole. Great find. Busy, but servers were attentive and friendly. Saw the reviews and stopped in. Staff are friendly and service was attentive as well. There is more seating and booths than what appears from the outside. We were greeted by an authentic pizza oven, which you would find in any Naples, Italy pizzeria. Their creed is to follow the authentic Neapolitan method for making pizza. We were pleasantly surprised at the product. The pizza could have come from any steer side Naples pizzeria, and was cooked exactly as ordered. Folding the pizza and not having a 1/2 soggy flop proves the authenticity of the dough and the quality of the toppings. I also ordered the eggplant parmesan, which tasted homemade and was served piping hot. You could actually taste the eggplant, which was perfectly sliced and seasoned. A delicious meal was had. Based on the number of people that kept flowing through the door, I suspect the word is getting out. They also have a full bar and had a happy hour with half price wine every Wednesday. I am giving a 1 star and I don't even want to give that. First the hostess forgot about us which was fine but we had to go over to her and ask where we were on the list. She apologized and she sat us at a table that was open for a while as it was right where we were standing in bar area. We ordered bread with oil. First off it was way to oily should have bread separate not in oil and let people dip in oil on their own. In addition they serve salsa with bread. Yes salsa not sauce salsa? Who serves salsa with bread in a pizza place ? Really? We ordered 2 grandma's pies which was the worse pizza we have ever eaten. The Pizza dough tasted like a tortilla not cooked and very chewy. We have had this type of pizza a many times before not there but at other places. Maybe it was just last night but it was that bad that we can't even give it a second chance. read more

We came in with a soccer team/group of over 30. Pizza, drinks, staff were all great. Fast and attentive. Thank you Jenny!

First of all, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was nicer than we expected for being in a strip mall setting. We ordered a margarita pizza, garlic pasta with chicken, and focaccia bread as an appetizer. The focaccia was good. Then the pasta arrived at the table for one of the two diners. It wasn't great, a bit bland with a burnt garlic flavor. About 5 minutes later we were told that the pizza for the other diner would be right out. Then another a few minutes later we're told that they put all the pizzas in the oven at one time and mine was the last one to come out. By then, the other diner was just picking at cold, uninviting pasta politely waiting for my meal. I told them to just cancel the pizza because we weren't going to sit there taking turns watching the eat. The server immediately apologized and said she would take the pizza off the check. They then said we could still take the pizza to go if we wanted. I agreed to that as at least we could try it later. Then they showed up at the table with the pizza on a sheet pan not ready "to go". They took it back and boxed it up. By then, my dining companion was eating just the chicken out of the pasta dish because the pasta and sauce were not good at all. We ended paying $30 for basically eating focaccia and a few bites of chicken, not dining together, and leaving hungry. I did try the pizza when we got home and found it to be bland, limp, soft doughy crust and hardly and mozzarella. Again, the staff was great. But we won't be returning. read more

Our dinner was awesome! The serving sizes were just right. We ordered linguine and clam and pizza. Both we very very good. Wood fire is the way. So the pizza sizes are just one size 13 inch but every bite was more than tasty. All the crew seemed to share in taking care of customers so things moved well. A touch off the beaten path, but well worth searching out. Stopped for a late lunch. We ordered the Mediterranean salad to split. Very plentiful and beautifully presented. Everything was fresh and delicious. We also ordered a sausage pizza--sausage was delicious, crust, cheese and sauce were all tasty. I am also a fan of fresh basil on my pie. Dessert was a limoncello cake to split. If I had known how good it was I would have ordered my own piece. You won't be disappointed here. read more

We tried three different pizzas, an appetizer, and a sandwich. The best I can say is, well, it was okay. I absolutely love wood fired food, especially pizza, but these were underwhelming. The crust was chewy and didn't capture the wood fire taste that one would expect. The meatballs in the sandwich were dry. The various sauces were okay, but I just couldn't past the crust. I was super excited to try this restaurant, and I wanted to love it, but it just didn't deliver on flavor or quality. A huge shout out to the staff, though. They are extremely friendly. read more

My wife and I are staying at the Fairfield Inn adjacent to the strip mall this establishment is in. On recommendation from the staff, we walked over. Heads up not a lot street lights so be careful when walking. We walked in on Sunday night and surprise surprise a nice restaurant with a full bar. We ordered buffalo wings and a prosciutto and arugula pie. The wings were good, not amazing, but it was Sunday so they were 6 for $6. Now to the pizza. They have a traditional dome pizza oven and the pie came out quick. The crust had that nice char but the inside was fluffy airy. Toppings were on point. Definitely stopping by before we head back to Jersey. read more

Fantastic pizza and service! The unique style of pizza offers a different choice for those who don't only know or like New York style pie's. I've been here many times now, always great, full bar, terrific selection and a helpful and happy staff. Kendra, typically behind the bar, seems to oversee the operation and keeps tabs on everything. In short, I'll say the place is good and could very well be great if not for some current shortcomings. The biggest selling points are the wood fire pizza oven, quality of the ingredients, the desserts, and the inside decor. I was in a party of two. We didn't order any appetizers, because nothing on that part of the menu looked appealing to us. If they had garlic cheese bread or fried mozzarella, we would have placed an order. They didn't, so alas, we both went straight to ordering our main course and we both got pizzas. I had a regular pepperoni pizza, and they had the Margarita DOP pizza. The pepperoni was extremely flavorful and had a real nice spice to it, and the San Marsano tomato sauce is second-to-none. I tried a slice of the Margarita DOP pizza and the ingredients on that were ripe with flavor, and the seasonings were very bold which made me think they were exceptionally fresh. The only issue we both had with the pie was the dough. It had a decent enough flavor, but I found it to be a little too chewy for my liking and both pizzas were soggy in the center. I feel they need to improve the make of the dough and how they are cooking it if they want to make it big and become a local staple. We each got a dessert to try and share. I got the limoncello mascarpone cake, which was exquisite, and my guest had ordered a cannoli, which was very good. The limoncello mascarpone cake was delicious and refreshing as well as light and moist. The cannoli had a crisp shell and had a nice filling that was both creamy and sweet, but not overly sweet. We'd both will go there again at some point. I think I'd like to try their pizza pocketed sandwiches. If they're what I imagine them to be based on my experience with other pizza places that employ a food fire pizza oven, I think they could be exceptional. Our service was adequate, and our server was pleasant enough. I'd recommend giving this place a shot to anyone that asks. Don't expect a NY style pizza though, because they make their pizzas in the Neapolitan style and they're only 13", so they're meant to feed 1-2 people each. They have more in common with artisan pies than what most Americans would consider traditional. It's not a pizza that most are used to having and it would definitely be a new experience if you've never had a wood fire pizza or Neapolitan. as far as I know, they are the only place I'm aware of in the near vicinity that makes their pizzas this way and make use of a wood fire pizza oven. read more

Our new favorite pizza joint- Fire in the Hole! My old favorites didn't do it for me after my cancer treatments. But the sauce, the cheese and the pepperoni plus the thin crust has both my wife and I hooked Trying the chicken parm on focacia in a few minutes. Looks great. Try it!
