I was just introduced to this place a couple of weeks ago from some work friends. Every time I have come here I order something different and I have been super satisfied EVERY time. Having a bad lunch can ruin the rest of your work day I feel lol! I love this place because on my gym days I can get a great, quick meal with all my veggies and protein. The staff is SUPER personable and friendly and they work so fast. Craving somewhat healthy food because I couldn't remember the last time I had a vegetable, we headed toward this place. True, if I was really craving healthy, I could have gone to Souplantation, but I wasn't in the mood for buffet style rabbit food. And besides, this place claims to have Hawaiian. It somewhat reminds me of a Mongolian grill, where you make your own bowl, but here everything is already cooked. Since it was my first time there, I decided to try one of their Fire Island bowls with coconut rice, chicken, lots of veggies (because cravings) and fire island teriyaki sauce. They give you a decent portion. I wasn't too crazy about the coconut rice (1. I don't really eat rice anymore but mainly 2. not a huge fan of the coconut sweetness battling with the fire island sauce), but everything else was good. The veggies were cooked perfectly but the chicken was a little dry, which is where the sauce helped. Will return to try out their Volcano Salad! read more

I eat at the Fire Island Grill all the time. I think it's great. It's quick and easy. If you are short on time, but still want a good lunch, this is perfect. That must be why I see Firemen and Deputies eating there all the time. I personally love the Fire Island Rice with chicken, steak and the peanut sauce. So good. The salads are good too. The Mango Chicken Salad is excellent. Plus, you always get a $2 off coupon with your reciept for next time. So that makes it quick, yummy AND affordable! Its a win-win! read more

I got the fire island bowl because people raved about them in the reviews. I really liked mine, but I don't know if I just got a really good combination or if all the bowls are that good no matter what you get. I got a fire island bowl with fire island rice, pulled pork, and their lava flow sauce. I surprisingly liked the fire island rice even though it was made with coconut and I usually don't go for coconut. I tried to live a little and I'd say it was a success. If you're looking for something hawaiian influenced but don't feel like going to L & L or Q & Q, lucky for you you have this option. It's obviously more Americanized and seems like a local bar where you can catch the laker game. They had a big banner outside saying 'Lakers play here" or something like that. There were more people there than I expected. Service was wonderful. The way you order is just like chipotle, you pay for your food, and find a seat. Overall, it was a good lunch. I usually get the pulled pork bowl with brown rice, veggies and fire island sauce. The sauce is really not spicy, but they have siracha available. I also love the volcano salad. Well, up until today we have been long time customers. They have been getting pretty thin on portions and it really wasn't a big deal until today. Ordered quite a few bowls and they weren't even half full with the veggies included. Very disappointing, portions are slim but rest assured prices are still the same. I understand trying to cut back but at some point it becomes a rip off. No longer worth the money to still be hungry after your meal. What I don't think they realize is that the pennies they are trying to save by minimizing the portions is going to pale in comparison to money that they will lose from the customers that will no longer return. read more

I have had a good share of Hawaiian food after working at an authentic joint in Central Oregon and going to at least 5 more places while living in Oregon. I was looking forward to some Katsu, Kalua pork (smokey), some Shoyu chicken maybe... they had none of it I went with a plate of pork with noodles and veggies. The noodles reminded me of a mix between italian pasta noodles and pad thai noodles. Everything was soooooooo bland. The pork had no flavor, neither did the veggies or noodles. I got a pineapple teriyaki and a spicy teriyaki and drowned my entire plate in both of them resulting in barely enough flavor to even taste. I am totally fine if it's not authentic and you are trying to do your own thing... but authentic or not WHERES THE FLAVOR? read more

What happened to the customer service. First, I'd like to say I regularly would visit this establishment back 4/5 years ago. Now, I come in a couple times a month. As of recent, I cannot believe how rude/ unaccommodating the customer service is every time I come into the restaurant. This saddens me as I used to see the slightly older gentlemen who I believe owns the restaurant in there every time I used to visit. Now, I never see him. If he still owns the restaurant I hope he addresses his employees. Otherwise, he will lose future regular customers like myself. I won't be back. Good food. Terrible customer service. We go here about 2-3 times a month. Its a counter service style place with a Hawaiian/tropical island motif. I really like the food. I usually get the pulled pork, but have tried the steak and the shrimp and all are pretty good. I would say you get a fair amount of food for the price if you eat there. The time we ordered take out we didn't get nearly the same amount as eating in. I like their pineapple teriyaki sauce the best, they say their salad dressings are made in house from scratch; I've tried the ranch and its good. There is a small kids menu that includes Kraft mac and cheese, and the kids get to pick out a seashell from a bucket which my kids love every visit. We have had adequate to very good service with the staff, never any problems or attitudes. There is an outdoor patio (not for us), and plenty of parking. 2 entrees and 2 kids meals about $25. read more

Horrible costumer service!! I always come here for lunch and use my bogo discount card I get from my sons school, for whatever reason my sons school gave me an expired (new) card I explained the situation and they would NOT honor it. I It's not like they scan it and it goes into the system. The girl claimed she would get in trouble if she honored it. We also asked for double chicken on our salad that they charged us for as well, but they didn't do double chicken when we opened our salads up. So we pretty much paid 27 dollars for two salads. I have been getting food here since it opened and have very rarely gotten bad service or food. However, today I was not so fortunate. When I go, I always order the platter, as it will give me 2-3 lunches. This way I don't have to leave my studio. There was a girl there by the name of Julie that was just not up to serve. I placed my order and she looks as if she does not know how to fill the order. I ordered double meat, chicken and beef, and triple vegetables. The vegetables are clearly the scant leftovers from lunch, yet, she starts to put them into my bowl. They look bad. Two ladles, she actually scoops the ladle and shakes any extra vegetables that are in it. Two ladles. Mind you I've asked for triple vegetables, she asks if I want double beef, or chicken, I ask her to split the difference. She blinks. Then, and I counted, 2 scoops of each, again level scoops. She starts to move on. I ask for more vegetables. She tells me she will have to cook them. I say ok. She looks troubled. So I go to pay and the meal comes to $20 plus. Now as I have said, I have eaten there from the beginning, and I have just been charged $20 for a platter with double meat and vegetables, that has normal amounts, so, long story short. If Julie is working, turn around, you will be over charged for leftover food and scant amounts not up to the service or reputation that is Fire Island Grill. read more
