Ribs were moist, juicy and very meaty. Definitely worth the drive from Kenosha. The fish was excellent as well. We will be back!!

Omg! Me and my fiance have been coming here since they opened. ALLLLLLLLLLL the food is absolutely incredible! I've literally had EVERYTHING on the menu minus 1 item the chef special Ruben sandwich which is new...I just don't like sauerkraut so I'm not a Ruben fan, however my fiance stated this was the best Ruben in southeastern Wisconsin! He's a Ruben connoisseur so I obviously trust his evaluation, completely bias yet he loves his Ruben's! The atmosphere is equally as awesome! I stopped in the Fire Pitt twice while traveling. I met one of the owners Artie my first visit. Artie recommended I come back and try their all you can eat fish boil. It's served Thursday through Sunday 5 to 9. You can also get great BBQ chicken and ribs combinations. The foods great you will not leave hungry. It's served buffet style. The staff is friendly and helpful. This is a great little local eatery. My first visit I had some chicken wings that where great. They make there own breading and BBQ sauce. Yum. read more

I have gone here several times for the all-you-can-eat Friday fish boil (or bbq chicken or both). It comes with potatoes, cole slaw, rye bread and dessert. Make sure you emphasize "tiny amount of butter" on your potatoes, otherwise they will ladle it onto your plate and everything will be swimming in the stuff. read more

We went to try this out. The decor leaves something to be desired. The food took awhile to come out but when it did we were extremely happy with it. I was not impressed with the pizza and would not choose to have that again. I have had better Italian Beef elsewhere. Went for the fish boil and bbq chicken buffet. The food was ok but nothing special. The buffet set up was more like a cafeteria set up than a buffet. You go up to a small (and dirty) counter, provide the person with your ticket (you get different color tickets depending on what you order - just fish, chicken and ribs, or all three), and they serve you. Meal comes with boiled potatoes and onions and some rye bread. They also included dessert -a small slice of cold kringle style pastry on a Styrofoam plate. They serve well water so if you're not used to it get something from a bottle or can (really just beer). The sodas are made with the well water too so you'll taste it in that too. It's got a metallic taste- think blood. It's was disgusting and I didn't drink the water. The staff could have been more welcoming. Our waitress was nice enough but she didn't bother to explain how the whole ticket system worked and the other staff seemed annoyed that I didn't know since it was my first time there. Overall, I wouldn't ever go back. I'd rather go to Colony House or anywhere else. It seems like everyone else loves this place and I can't understand why. read more

The weekend fish boil was the draw for our visit. The food itself was ok - nothing special but ok - but it was served on plastic picnic plates. $40 for dinner for 2 isn't high-end but it is definitely higher than plastic picnic plates! Hmmmm... so the reviews on this one confuse me. I am Wisconsin born and raised so when people say this is what you expect from a WI restaurant I am a little, well, insulted to be honest. This place looks OK from the outside, but the interior leaves A LOT to be desired. It almost appears to be under construction, but not in a good way. We were seated below what appeared to be a stage at one time, which had been blocked off and seemed to be in use as a storage area. I won't say the place was dirty, but it didn't give you the feeling of being super clean either. The floors in particular were kind of scary - as we walked in they felt almost mushy underfoot. We were seated at a large round folding table (like you would see in a cafeteria) and sat on folding chairs (like you would use with a folding card table) - weird. Our drinks were served in plastic disposable cups and the food was served on plastic disposable plates. Also weird. And it's not like the food is cheap - $14.00 for fish is pretty standard so I'm not sure what was up with all the throw away dinnerware. In fact, the plastic plate was almost too hot to carry back to the table once it had food on it. The food was just OK - in our party we each got one piece of fish that was good and a second that was tough and dry. The fish lacked any kind of seasoning - thank goodness for lemon, salt, and the copious amount of butter they poured over the fish, potatoes and onions. The potatoes were overcooked and watery. The bread was REALLY salty, which again, weird. The coleslaw was good, but I would have felt silly going back through the line for just coleslaw. No one at our table went back for seconds, which is rare when we're out with our grown sons. All in all our experience was not one that would lead us to want to make a return visit. Since we decided to try this based on Yelp reviews, it seems only fair to follow up with an honest review of our own. We really wanted to like this as we are always looking for good places to eat close to home. But this place just didn't do it for us. read more

I tried the italian beef the weekend before last and it was very good. The decor is what it is and I saw styrofoam plates for the AUCE fish boil, which I thought weird - but I guess it makes sense for an AUCE as bringing multiple plates could add up to the dishwashing and other expenses. The first time we went here, we were unaware that it was opening day, not a fair day for a review. Now it's well over a year later, and I still felt like I was eating in someone's basement -- dark and gray -- which is a shame because it wouldn't take much to brighten, warm and cozy up the place. And unless I'm at a picnic, throw away plastic plates are a turn off. The fish was good, but if you're going for the barbecue, you can only get it as an upcharge on the fish boil. Sadly, not a place to relax and enjoy a meal. There did seem to be people enjoying the bar room, but as far as eating goes, it appeared to be a stuff yourself and get out kind of place -- like fast food. I couldn't wait to finish and leave. Went for the Friday night fish boil with a group of people leaving a family members wake. after we had a terrible experience at another fish fry place someone suggested the Fire Pitt. It was already kinda late due to the running around with the other place and all so we get in and order. A few of us had the all you can eat fish boil and a few placed sandwich orders and a son of mine had the fish chicken and ribs. Those that got the all you can eat went and got plates of food and returned. I had the all you can eat so I had them load it up. Was a pretty nice serving. Great food no doubt. I had everything except the bread. The fish was tender and juicy, the potatoes and onions were outstanding, the coleslaw was actually one of the best homemade slaws I've ever had. I finish my plate and now have to wait because our other members have not gotten there food yet. We located our waitress and asked about the other sandwiches and she confirmed the order was placed and it was being taken care of. I'm told by my wife who's waiting for her burger to go and get more food. 2nd time I get half of what I got the first time. Now i realize they've been doing this for quite some time and probably figured I wouldn't have eaten that much more and a full plate would go to waste. Sorry but not the case with me. Now back at the table and my son returns for his 2nd round of fish chicken and ribs only to come back with a piece of fish and a piece of chicken. Apparently they didn't want to give him any more ribs because he asked for all 3. After some of our members finished Their 2nd plate they went to find out what was going on with the other food because it's still not at the table. Turns out the head chef left for the night seeing how it's already after 9 and the "2 Sioux chefs decided they weren't going to make them because they were overwhelmed" exact words out of the bartenders mouth. My wife and 10 year old son are sitting there getting hungry watching other people eat and these guys don't want to make food because their overwhelmed? The waitress finally brings their food and tells us the managing bartender will be over to explain what happened and take care of us. The manager or whoever she is comes over and apologizes and offers to buy us drinks (which nobody at the table had any drinks except for me, Unless she was talking about soda) and offers to reduce our bill. Overall all experience for first time was ok except the fact my wife and youngest son had to wait almost an hour to get their food. They took care of us so I may give this place another chance to make a better review. read more

By accident I tagged along with my sister-in-law to meet up with some of her family at this restaurant and thankfully I did because this is now one of my favorite places to eat- ever. Don't go there if you're wanting a pish posh restaurant experience with white glove service, but if you're wanting to max some of the best cod ever this is your place. A Door County style fish boil makes for a delicious dining experience and it's all you can eat. Served up with boiled potatoes and pearl onions, homemade slaw, rye bread, and, of course, the cod (melted butter on top- oh yeah!) and you'll be leaving full-bellied and happy. You can also add ribs and chicken to the mix for a triple combo of yum. We've never been disappointed. Service is great. I love the Fish Boil, the wings, the Italian Beef, the pizza, the burgers, the chef specials, the appetizers, ... ooh I guess I love it all!! Great food at reasonable prices. Super friendly owners (three brothers) and servers. They commonly check with their patrons to make sure everything is to their satisfaction and take a lot of pride in the taste and quality of all their menu choices. Occasionally it may take a few extra minutes but its worth it... they can be crazy busy and they take the time to make sure everything is prepared just right. I take everyone that visits me from out of town here and, no matter whether from the Carolinas, Alabama, California or the U.P, everyone agrees their fish boil and all their other food is the best! It was wonderful. We were visiting from Fort Worth Texas and our friends took us there. I have had the fish boil in Door County before but this was even better and a heck of a lot closer to where we were staying. We have fried fish in Texas but it is always catfish down there it is refreshing to get a different kind of fish. Can't wait to return to the area so we can eat there again! read more
