The chef and owner making rounds to check on all the guests.

Having found this place on the North shore restaurant month list and then looking at the menu I was already psyched to check it out. It did not disappoint. When you walk in there's two directions you can go, right or left. To the right is the dining room and bar area, to the left is the family section. The family section is a very impressive concept. Adjacent to the tables it's got a few arcade games so that young kids can entertain themselves and their kids menu offers a special "toddler" style which just means that they cut the food up for you so you can enjoy your own food a little easier. It's very clever to offer these options, and even more so to separate this section from the general dining room. Of course, we were here for the more traditional dining experience in the main room. With full window siding, white tablecloths (covered with a white paper cover for easy clean-up), adjustable table lights, cloth napkins, white brick walls and several hanging lights and fans this space strikes the perfect balance between high-end and casual. The dining room is very comfortable. We ate lots of food on this visit, I really wanted to try out as many things as I could. We started with the tomato basil flatbread. The base is actually a thin croissant crust, a really unique spin on a traditional dish. This was the best flatbread I've ever had! Just the right doneness, a perfect but simple balance of flavor, and amazing preserved tomatoes on top make this dish something special. For our mains we ordered the lobster roll pasta and the picnic chicken. The pasta was great. Very buttery with a good amount of tasty lobster pieces throughout the dish. The picnic chicken was excellent as well. It was cooked perfectly and still juicy. The topping of sweet and spicy peppers really brought it all together adding some much needed acidity to chicken. It comes with your choice of two sides, I opted for crispy brown butter potatoes and cacio e pepe green beans. Both sides were excellent but I was really impressed with the cook and seasoning on the green beans, the parmesan and pepper flavor really shines on these. Completely full, and with leftovers for the future, I still couldn't leave without some dessert. We ordered the apple bread pudding and the gelato sundae. The bread pudding is quite the big piece, it was like a slice of cake made into bread pudding! With lots of great flavor and a moist texture this was a great finish. It comes topped with some fantastic gelato as well. The sundae has 2 flavors of gelato over a bed of strawberries and chocolate and was devoured and enjoyed as well. I haven't been this stuffed in quite some time, this isn't one of those places where you leave hungry. All throughout our dinner the service was spot on. The waitress was friendly and checked in often. Our server brought us extra plates so we could share and they removed our used plates and utensils promptly and with a smile. I even had the pleasure of talking with the chef/owner for a bit before things got busy. She's working hard to fulfill her vision and I'd say it really shows in the concept and small details. She asked for any and all opinions, the good, the bad, and the ugly. This was really a perfect meal, I wouldn't say I have any complaints, but I'll offer a few small notes I have. For the chicken, I would have liked more peppers. Getting some in each bite would elevate the dish further. The crispy potatoes could use a slightly smaller cut to really get a crispy texture. The bread pudding would benefit from more apple pieces, it was delicious but it wasn't apple forward. A bit more of the maple sauce or syrup that it came with would be welcome as well. Those are all really minor things but those tweaks, I feel, would improve the experience. They've only been open a little over a week but I'm blown away with the effort on display here. I'll certainly be back to try even more dishes. Overall this is an elegant and family friendly spot that's upscale in design but doesn't break the bank. A must try!

Outstanding! Went here for dinner on a Sunday night. The location used to be Pizanos pizza. The restaurant is beautiful. The decor is very stylish. I had the tomato basil flatbread. It was amazing. My friends enjoyed their choices as well. The chef was on Hell's Kitchen. Our server was very nice. She did double duty as server and bartender. I will return.

Awesome dinner. It was fun to pick the items on the grazing board as a starter. We had the detox salad, lobster pasta, smash burger and keto chicken stir fry (special). In other words, there was something for everyone and lots of healthy options. I would order any of the dishes we tried again.

Lobster roll pasta - good flavors but a little dry

Came here in search of comfort food, and while it didn't deliver on that, the food, service, ambience were all pretty solid. Interesting location in a random spot in Glenview - we've crossed it many times, really glad we finally tried it! This place is pretty unique - it looks nice, cloth tablecloths covered with kraft paper, contemporary coastal designs and leather chairs, it even seems to have semi-separated sections for families (with kids) and those without. In the same areas as the family section, there is a little play room with video games and toddler toys to entertain the young'uns while waiting for food or while the adults talk after a meal. The staff is amazing - everyone is so friendly and welcoming, huge smiles, thoughtful and attentive service. This is a great place for anyone - families, girl get together, date night. The only callout is that it can get LOUD here, whether it's the bare flooring or just the crowdedness, it can be hard to talk/hear in this restaurant. We ordered the kid's charcuterie board ($12) was absolutely adorable and SO creative. It wowed us in terms of presentation (on a cheese board) and the amount and quality of food (fresh berries, grapes, croissant bread sticks, waffle fries, deli turkey slices, half an avocado), and reminded me of an adult cheese board - what a great idea! They quickly brought us a little kid's plate to help make the food and portions more manageable. We also ordered lobster roll pasta ($38). The lobster pasta was good, could've been better, and apparently is a popular choice. The flavor was certainly there - you could taste the lobster throughout, balanced with a squeeze of lemon, including on the pasta itself. The pasta was cooked al dente, in a good way. And there was a fair amount of lobster pieces in it (don't expect huge lobster tail chunks), but there wasn't enough sauce. The pasta ended up a bit dry. The smashburger ($17) was promising, but the waffle fries left something wanting. The burger itself was packed with double patties, and a bunch of other deliciousness, including some type of relish that gave it a good bite. If you're not a fan of pickles, you might not like this burger, but if you are or don't mind it, then this burger is one of the better burgers I've had - well balanced!

Came here for a late date night and sat at a high top by the bar. The service was quick and our server was attentive throughout the whole night. We got the lobster Mac and cheese and the lobster sliders. The lobster sliders is like a lobster roll cut into thirds. The truffle lobster mac and cheese was priced at $40 but the portion was very large. Both were delicious and I definitely would get them both again. We also tried the espresso martini and the pear martini. Loved both but the espresso martini was very strong. It definitely kicks. Lastly we ended with the strawberry shortcake. Highly recommend. We truly enjoyed everything we ordered that night and can't wait to be back again.

Excellent food and ambiance! Love what they have done to the place. Great drink selection and nice menu! Had the lamb chops with mashed potatoes and broccoli and blueberry bread pudding. The owner Jamie greeted all the guests. So excited for her new restaurant to thrive in Glenview!

I'm in heaven! Huge range of gf options - almost everything on the menu has a gf option, plus lots of vegan and dairy free options. Dedicated range, oven, griddle and fryer for gf. 2 kiddos have celiac (wheat allergy) so we appreciate this!!! Everything we had was so flavorful and fresh. It is a bit pricey ($35 chicken, $19 burger). We sat in the kids area which I think is wonderful if you have very small kids, but otherwise is a bit loud and lacking the ambience of the main dining room.

Getting yummier and busier every week. Last night 4 of us shared wings to start. One person had soup and chicken meatballs for his entree. Other entree photos below. Forgot to take photo of gelato sundae which was a huge hit!! Love that managers and owner are checking in with diners. Way to go!!!

Based on the great yelp reviews, I decided to try this restaurant for takeout tonight & it did not disappoint! Between three people, we shared the lobster pasta & lamb chops (2 double cut), which came with two sides. We chose broccoli oglio olio & the mashed potatoes. Both were very good, and the lamb chops were delicious. The lobster pasta had tons of lobster, and the pasta is clearly homemade, and it had great flavor. We will definitely order again!

We stopped in for dinner on a Friday night and were able to snag a table in the busy place. We setup in a cozy corner and began looking over the menu. Our waiter stopped by and we immediately knew he was going to be top notch. He was so friendly but very chill and seemed like he was reading our minds when it came to suggestions. After finally deciding, we placed our order and were impressed by the speed at which our food came out! It was fast for a sit-down restaurant! While we devoured our meal, which was INCREDIBLE by the way (I had the meatloaf and it was delicious!), our wonderful waiter continually checked in to see if we needed anything (but not to an annoying level). Then the manager (I think?) stopped by and even the owner (which I found out who he was later) asked how things were. And it wasn't a check-the-box, they were genuinely interested in making sure everything was to our liking. The restaurant/bar-ish is a bit of a mix. It has a bar feel but is right on the cusp of being something more upscale. And they should embrace that because their food and service level support something leveled-up! On the way out I tapped the owner on the shoulder and told him what an amazing time we had - he appreciated it. We'll be back here again, many more times!

Nice ambiance that's casual enough to feel comfortable bringing my kids, but upscale enough for the evening to feel like a nice night out. Loved the appies - we got the cauliflower hummus and deviled eggs - highly recommend both. As for entrees, chicken sandwich was perfectly fried crispy with not too much breading, on a biscuit. Fries were just ok. They were unfortunately out of the schnitzel I wanted to try so I had the halibut special instead. The fish was perfectly cooked, but the composition of the fish was rather confusing - the lobster bisque-like sauce was fantastic on its own, but overpowered the delicate halibut. The crispy yuca strips went perfectly with the fish, but the dish was finished off with lots of shishito peppers - again, way too overpowering. I would have preferred a much subtler vegetable. Kids Mac and cheese was fantastic, with a hint of what I think was thyme. The drink list was heavily spirit -forward. I ended up getting a sangria which was good, but my husband thought the old fashioned was terrible. The balance of spirit vs bitters was completely off, plus it was served over tiny ice instead of a large cube. To top it all off, the cherry was muddled.

We get there and there is a cute young girl who greets us with an apron and chef's hat on. She seats us and takes our order - she was our waitress which surprised us. I ordered a cup of chicken noodle soup to have before my meal. I'm glad I got a cup and not a bowl. The cup was only half full. The soup was lacking flavor so I added pepper. The woman who is GrannyMa delivered the soup. She didn't speak to us or anything the entire time while we were there which didn't feel too nice. They were sold out of the beef liver, beef shortribs and sweet potatoes. We ordered the fried chicken (menu states it takes 20-25 minutes for the chicken) and the salmon croquettes. Each dinner comes with 2 sides each so we got the macaroni and cheese, green beans, dressing and mostaccioli (slight extra charge for the mostaccioli). Fried chicken was crispy and delicious! Seasoned well. The croquettes were good also - they give you two big patties in the dinner. We weren't impressed with the green beans as you can tell they came out of a can. The dressing was only okay. The mac and cheese was pretty good but the best side was the mostaccioli - it had a layer of cheese on top and was really yummy. I wish I had gotten that as a meal, it was that good and highly recommend it. For dessert I got the peach cobbler sundae which is peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream on top. The cobbler sauce was very thin. I like cobbler that has alot of flaky crust but this didn't have that but it still was good enough to eat the whole thing. The young girl brought us our bill. The prices are so reasonable for what you get. Our bill was only $62 with tax for all of what we had. The place is bright with warm colors inside. We conversated with the son-in-law to GrannyMa's, he was very nice and personable. Although the young girl was sweet, I felt some kind of way of her being our waitress because clearly she is underage to be working. We were told they have a Sunday brunch from 11-3 that includes a DJ. To my friend and I, the food overall was either hit or miss. One review mention about GrannyMa engaging them in conversation - she never came over to our table except to drop off the soup and she is the owner of the restaurant. Not a good way in customer service if you ask me. Overall, okay.

It's located right down the street from Northwestern University's football stadium (whatever the heck they're naming it). This is a nice hidden gem in Evanston. Not located downtown, it may have a chance to stick around a while. As Jane V. noted in her review, you are greeted by a delicious smoky smell when you enter the restaurant. It was an inviting smell (at least for me), others in our group thought we were walking into a barbecue joint and were less than thrilled, but the menu put them at ease as it has a lot of options. There were five of us and one couple decided to share a couple appetizers as their entrees. They ordered the Cauliflower Buffalo Bites, and the Macho Nacho. They were huge portions easily enough for us all to share. However, my wife and I don't see eye-to-eye with our eating habits (she is mostly vegetarian and I'm a card-carrying carnivore), so she was not about to share the smoky wings and cheesy tots with me. I opted for the Chicken Vesuvio entree, and she and our other friend both ordered the Inside-Out Grilled Cheese. I would say most the sandwiches looked good (no portobello for me, thanks). I would say though, the desserts are pretty generic, so we opted out, but their is a door inside the restaurant to the donut shop next door (which was closed), but I wanted to try that place, so I'll have to make another trek out there for them and review them later. I'm amazed that the donut shop, DB3 Donuts, does not appear on their menu at all, despite having a connecting door from one establishment to the other, but alas, I've heard their apple crisp and brownie are good, but neither were too appealing that night. All meals were delicious and I definitely need to go back and try other dishes. And may DB3, if they are open. Give this place some love as it is a nice gem in Evanston.

And,the first bite, as well as the rest, was wonderful. We would gladly return here just for this. Our entrees were: Grilled Salmon with corn risotto, grilled asparagus, smoked tomato aioli. The salmon was well cooked to medium, not too dry, and not too rare. The plate was well balanced and everything was very tasty. Smoked Sampler My favorite! Rib tips, brisket, pulled pork, Texas toast, cole slaw. For dessert: Chocolate Brownie Apple Crisp Both were so good that we did not want to share! The next time you are in the Evanston area, you really must stop in for their delicious food!

The patio is incredible. Last night we lost (after winning the previous time, but it's good to be humbled on occasion lol). But, I thoroughly enjoyed my free grilled cheese sandwich that I won as our previous trivia night prize. Sandwiches really are their specialty. Perfectly greasy, and the caramlized onions and spinach really elevated it. Another person in our group had the turkey on a pretzel bun and said it was amazing. Also, a great range of drink options. Always a good time, and I'm excited to come to one of their mahjong gatherings, since I recently learned how to play.

There were also burgers I didn't have one but everyone that had a burger or chicken sandwich said they were good and tasty. The open bar was nice the Tito's was smooth and I had a good time. There was a DJ and enough room on the bar floor for dancing and there was a television with sports on for the sports watchers. I also saw patio outdoors seating out back. They had two restrooms and they appeared clean for patrons. The waitstaff and bartender were all friendly and just very nice.
