I'd been anxious to try Fire Wings since its opening and just now found a weekday evening with the fam to satisfy my spicy chicken cravings. For the most part they did not disappoint and I could easily see myself returning multiple times in the future. I was initially thrown off by Make Fish, which is apparently the other half of the restaurant. The strong smell of fish when I walk in the door with a craving for chicken wings threw me off for a bit. But I adjusted quickly and, after acclimating myself to the ordering process, got way more food than we needed in the form of a 20-piece family pack, complete with delicious house seasoned fries and two containers of celery and carrots. The boneless wings here are shaped like balls, so it's not the shape you're accustomed to, but when you consider that boneless are wings are really just chicken shaped however you like, then it doesn't matter. The fire wings were very spicy but tasty, but the cajun dry rub is my new personal favorite. Buttery, slightly spicy goodness. The original buffalo wings were dry and we requested more buffalo sauce on the side. She brought us some and told us in the future to order boneless wings "extra wet." First time here and didn't know that was a thing. The interior is much more spacious than I imagined. A nice horseshoe bar and upstairs seating perfect for game viewing. I'll consider this a stopover for wings and beers next time I'm close by. read more

I am very disappointed with their customer service. Here's what happened July 24, 2020, I walked up to this establishment and placed a to go order. My order consisted of the Nashville Fire Chicken Sandwich (Spicy level: Hot) and an order of their Poke Nachos (Protein: Salmon Bomb). After I confirmed with the cashier of my order she requested a phone number, she said that's how I will be notified when my order is ready to be picked up. The receipt stated 12:39 pm was when the order was placed. Something to keep in mind, it was lunch time and they were a little busy. However, more than 30 minutes pass by and it's 1:15 pm, at this point realized I never received the text or any notification. This realization occurred when the 3 customers after me already received their orders and had left the premises. I quickly got up and asked the person who was running the pick up and said, "I've been here waiting for over 30 minutes, I saw the people after me came and gone. What happened to my order?" I showed her my receipt and she just turned around to grab these 2 bags that could've been sitting there for who knows how long. There was no apology or anything of the sort, I understand that we're going through tough times, but it's not fair to the customers and to the employer to not give a sh*t. At this point wasn't expecting anything good and I was right. The Nashville Fire Chicken Sandwich had enough time to sit where the grease sank through the bottom bun and bled onto the container. The Poke Nachos wasn't any better either, there was hardly any salmon on the dish. What is going on with the customer service here??? I have had several issues with the past interactions, but this weekend they crossed a freakin line. I mean, I can only do so much as the customer. We were on our way to Fresno and the in-laws request that we bring Firewings down since they were craving it. I called in my order thinking that I would get my food and head on out. I made sure to speak clearly, I paid attention when she was repeating my order back to me to ensure that I get exactly what I ordered; she said that my order would take 20 minutes, so we went to get gas first at Safeway (which was down the street). As soon as we get to the restaurant my husband paid and then we waited. We thought the wait was going to be about ten minutes. We waited for a fucking hour!!! Beezy gave our order away to another customer. I did my part, I made sure I ordered what I wanted, we paid, the kitchen made sure to cook what we ordered, BUT there is a major fucking disconnect with the cashier staff. Maybe you should check the order number and ensure your customer has exactly what they ordered instead of thinking you can tell two Asian dudes apart. We were pissed and the guy who had to drive back with our order wasn't too happy either. What pissed me off further was that they were trying to give us the order they accidentally gave away. Bitch, I'm not taking food that left the restaurant. I don't know what happened to it. I know for a fact that the moment I get takeaway that I already have my hands in it before I even get home. I don't care if the other customer swears up and down he didn't touch it. Kitchen staff was pissed they had to remake 50 flat wings. We went here around 10.45 on a Saturday night. I also work in this restaurant industry so I know how frustrating it is when customers came in that late. But the customer service was hard to understand. When my husband asked the cashier about what do they had left for the poke bowl, she told us a list of flavors which we couldnt even catch up with because she spoke too fast. I dont think she even knew what she was saying. I dont treat my customers like that at the restaurant where I work at even when we are crazy busy or slow. There were attitudes everywhere. The poke bowls were okay. Its decent and its not something that can save the previous customer service experience. Maybe I would come back since I get off work at night and there arent many choices to make. But I dont think I would recommend this too anyone. read more

Fire Wings is really taking chicken wings to another level in Northern California. Their latest Sacramento location is in the excellent foodie strip mall also home to Paris Baguette and Sourdough and Co. This location is also shared with a poke store on the corner of Howe and Hurley. Parking is a bit scattered but plentiful under the power lines. This location has a very unique interior. The main level has the wings counter and a separate counter for poke bowls and sushi. There is also a large bar with lots of televisions. You can also sit upstairs in a decent sized loft area open to the rest of the restaurant. Unfortunately the restrooms are a bit small and only have hand driers. But you don't come here for the ambience. You come for the amazing wings. I prefer the meaty bone-in wings which are perfectly cooked. The dry rubs use naked wings while the sauced ones typically have breading. Both are excellent with many different styles including a lot of American and Asian inspired options. On this trip, I sampled the dragon and Louisiana dry rub. Both were excellent. It is so hard to choose with others like the Cali rub, peanut butter, and buffalo. The sides are also great. I love the seasoned fries and still need to try the tots. The garlic noodles are an interesting option, but they can congeal quickly for take out. Love this chain and love their funky industrial Howe location. So many excellent options and perfectly cooked chicken make Fire Wings the best option in the region. read more

They offer matsubi as well as a poke bar. There's a bar in the middle ( closer to the right side) of the restaurant. Sports television every where of course. I'm actually pretty impressed. If you thought the food was great, check this place out. Staff was super friendly over the phone and in person. And the line was super long. Honestly there were and can only be two people at the register. So I highly recommend calling ahead. From what I can see because I'm blind, there are like 18 beers on tap. I think beer might be the only thing you can order here. They have a Pepsi soda dispensary, towards the front entrance. I'm a coke girl but I can't complain. Lets see, I ordered Saigon, dragon, stampede, salt and pepper, and Peking. Something new and some of the same flavors. Mind you, this is for 2 people. If I had the time I'd probably order the poke bowl as well. But it's only a Tuesday and I didn't want to over order ‍. I first noticed it with their boneless wings they use to be big, but last couple of times it's been more like popcorn chicken. This restaurant is not in a bad location. You're definitely going to have to try to find parking since the plaza is usually packed. If you can't find parking nearby, you're going to have to do some walking. What I like about Fire Wings are the different flavors that vary on a spectrum. They have so many options to choose from and they're all delicious in my opinion. If you want something sweet, I would go for the Thai Chili and the Peanut Butter. If you're looking to try something a little more "exotic," for your plate, I would definitely go and try the Dragon and the Saigon. Again, the flavors all fall on a different spectrum, depending on what you're interested in eating! I also like to order the garlic noodles with my pieces or the seasoned fries with ranch. Your chicken does come with a side of sauce of your choice. Not only do they have chicken here, they also have a small area where you can buy poke too. It may be a little pricier, but it does already have pre-selected toppings on their menu. It's definitely worth the try. They also have a bar in the middle of the restaurant where you can order beer as well. My overall rating of this place is a 5 because of the outstanding customer service that I've encountered while being here, the cleanliness of the location and the bathroom itself as well as the quality tasting food that does not disappoint. If you're having some trouble with finding a place for some chicken, this is definitely the spot that you want to be at for trying different flavors! I love the architecture done here, there's plenty of seating yet it looks super modern and open. I stopped by for dinner around 6:30pm on a Thursday. We ordered, were given a number, and then grabbed a table. Since we wanted to try both sides (the poke and the chicken), we got a little taste of both. On the Fire Wings side, we went with the 10-piece chicken combo (~$14). We opted for bone-in and since we can pick 2 flavors, we went with Jamaican Jerk and Dragon. The meal also came with seasoned fries, a dipping sauce (we got BBQ) and a fountain drink. On the Make Fish side, we got a poke bowl with brown rice and our 2 proteins were the Salmon Bomb and Spicy Garlic Shrimp (~$11). We also made that a loaded option by adding the Kali Style (+$2.49) to it. The Kali style included crab salad, seaweed salad, edamame, cucumber, and wonton chips. All I have to say is wow! This meal cost a total of $28 and was worth every penny. The wings were delicious and the poke was amazing. We kept going back and forth, taking bites from both, because they were that good. The poke bowl had a little kick to it but the proteins were deliciously marinated. The fried chicken was fresh and the seasoned fries was a good side to the wings. I was so excited to find out Fire Wings had finally opened after waiting forever and a day. I probably would have never knew they opened if it weren't for a friend letting the wife know. Came by for a laid back date night and it was a great time. The wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the spacious dining area, perfect for getting together with friends as well. I appreciated the full bar and ample draft list too, especially when pints came at just under $5! We sampled several wing flavors and can vouch for the buffalo stampede, Malaysian curry and Thai chili. It's worth noting that while the buffalo's spice came on very gradually...it peaked and continued to burn for quite a while, ie. beware if your spice tolerance isn't particularly high. While the bone-in wings were a hit, I'd pass on the boneless version...overly thick breading and the use of white meat made them just taste like overpriced chicken nuggets. The main drawback here is the service as the setup is terribly laid out. As an added bonus, Delilah's Market is located inside as well, offering a variety of fresh poke and spam musubi, lobster grilled cheese, pork belly fries, and Dole whip! Since it was grand opening weekend, all of the wing combos and poke bowls were half off. Score! Ten-piece, bone-in, sub garlic noodles for the fries/veggie sticks, with ranch is my go-to. I usually choose 2 of the Asian-inspired flavors and my boyfriend goes for the more traditional buffalo and lemon pepper. I also ordered a "salmon bomb" and "spicy ahi" poke bowl over brown rice. This beautifully crafted space has a bar in the middle serving beer only at the moment (not sure if they will serve liquor in the future), an upstairs loft for more seating, and plenty of TVs in the main dining area/bar. The wings are flavorful and plump, crispy and tossed well in your choice of sauce. The garlic noodles are usually my favorite, but on this visit, they were a bit dry. The seasoned fries my boyfriend got were not hot when they brought our food to our table, but he didn't bother to return them. The poke was ok but I didn't care for the rice. I think next time I would just get the "traditional ahi," without any rice. They do not serve it with extra toppings, like other poke places. It's all about the fish and the marinade. Although busy, the staff was working fast and hard to get the line at the register moving. After we sat down, I had noticed on my receipt that the cashier accidentally put sub garlic fries, instead of garlic noodles. As we're waiting in line, it's really cool of them to let us sample the different flavors of poke bc it was very helpful in figuring what to order. My fave poke flavors so far are the furikake ahi and the tropical ahi. These are different than make your own poke places bc it's already flavored, and doesn't need all those toppings. Its just 2 flavors of poke and rice and that's it. You can still get seaweed salad and crab salad on the side but I think it's pretty good on its own. The amount of lobster was perfect for what you are paying for! It had a creamy sauce but tasting it, it wasn't too heavy. Really loved it!! Glad I did try it. My honey had original and a sriracha, apparently the one was not spicy but sweet. Had a good flavor. I had the Saigon flavor, had a hint of spice but not overwhelming, definitely a different flavor. I'll be back to try different flavors, Gave it a 4 because no one really seemed like smiling. Not even a hello kind of smile. Think I found my new wing place! When you first walk in the atmosphere is really nice. Decors very open and spacious. They have upstairs seating that looks down on the entire bottom area and there's I believe a full bar. The ordering process is pretty straight forward as far as the wings. Just order your piece and flavor(s). The poke is pre-mixed and you can choose if you want your entire bowl made into a certain style. I had the poke yesterday over salad and though it was very tasty, the fish portion was very little. For $10 a bowl and poke being the main part of the meal, they could definitely put more fish. It was just a thin layer on top of my salad. More cucumbers, more seaweed salad, more than 3 pieces of wonton chips, etc. MORE MORE MORE! The chicken isn't anything crazy special but it's good. UPDATE:: So I have now come here 3 different times and each time they have messed up my order.. the first time it was because I had bone in wings it took 14 more mins than my friend who ordered along side me the second time I never got my fries and this time they totally lost my order.. 33 min later I walk up and I'm like hey WTF and no apology or anything just "give us 5 mins" This is ridiculous because I really wanna like this place Wow totally worth the wait, I have waited for over 7 months for the place to open and originally I assumed it would be similar to Wingstop or Buffalo wild wings however I was very much wrong they share the space with a company called the Leila's they sell how cables which are phenomenal the wing price was just about what it is for most other ways in the Sacramento area..they have a full bar and this will be an awesome place to watch sports and they just opened so course the line was long and the service was slow but that's to be determined considering you have people ordering hundred to 200 wings at a time.. Very Creative menu. Not only do they have a wide variety of wings they also have a good selection of poke'. The night we went they had $2 beer night. With a great selection of beer. We will definitely go back. We recommend the lobster tator tots. read more

Can't believe such a happenin' place just opened up in my hood! While driving down Howe, you would never suspect that delicious chicken wings and poke was in the plaza next to Buca de Beppo. I came by to check out what the hype was about because my coworkers had raved about the wings from the other Sac locations. My friend and I tried the Korean Kick, Peanut Butter, and Malaysian Curry Rub. The Malaysian Curry rub was my favorite of the three... nice curry flavor without it being overbearing. Peanut Butter sounded odd but tasted like the peanut dipping sauce you get with your satay. The Korean Kick was good but I thought it was overly sauced so I only had one. I also had the poke bowl (I had it with spicy ahi and salmon bomb) which hit the spot. For $11.50, I was expecting a bigger serving. But this just reminds me that I need to learn to make my own poke at home. I got my poke bowl pretty quickly but the wings took at least 20 min to arrive. After having multiple horrible encounters at the one in Natomas my husband and I decided to make the drive to this location, and we will never look back! Friendly staff, the freshest wings we have ever gotten from a fire wings!! The meat literally fell off the bones!! Don't hesitate to come to this location! This place is like Wing Stop, but on another level! Not only the flavor of the chicken wings are there, but they have 3x more flavor options. I wished I had something like this nearby when I was in college, because it's not only a wings place - inside, there's poke bowl by Make Fish and wide selection of beer tap bar. It's a large space inside with plenty of seats. I love the industrial urban design they have going on. The food: Wings: The wings were bomb! I got the Garlic Parmesan and the Dragon. So finger-lickin' good! Garlic Parmesan is usually my thing, but surprisingly, Dragon hit the spot for me! Now in my opinion, a good wing isn't good unless it has a damn good ranch to go with it. And this place did not disappoint with that! I must go back to try all the other flavors now. Poke: I got wings and my brother got a poke bowl! Which is one of the reason why I like it here, because there's more selection of food to choose from when you come with people. I mean, myself, would've probably got wings and poke too! Anyways, I took a bite of my brothers poke bowl and it was amazing. I had Make Fish before in Elk Grove, so of course I already know they don't disappoint. It's my favorite poke place in the area of Sacramento actually. Oh, they also have a selection of different kind of spam masubi, which I never seen anywhere! And my favorite part - they have pineapple dole whip!!!! And strawberry dole whip!!!!! The drinks: As I mentioned that they have a wide selection of beer on top. That's cool, but what excites me is the soda machine! It's one of those amazing soda machines that's like a robot and you click around to see which flavor you want. Yup, one of those and I love it. Bonus: There's also a water station, so you don't have to ask the cashier for a water cup and etc. It makes it so convenient on the customer and staff when there is one. Highly recommend this place. It's such a good spot to chill, and watch a game as they have like 30 billion TVs inside!
