This was the first time my family and I have been to Fleming's and it was a great dining experience. I made a reservation a few days in advance for a Tuesday night and I was glad I did. When we walked in at 6pm, the restaurant was almost at capacity. The entryway and dining room was buzzing with people. The service was courteous and timely, we never lacked water or bread or anything else for that matter. We were celebrating a birthday and the birthday card that was presented at the dinner table was a nice touch. My cousin also received some chocolate bon bons that were really good. My family and I shared the oysters, shrimp cocktail, onion rings, potatoes au gratin, pork chops, and rib eyes; for dessert, we shared the lava cake. Everything was made perfectly. The chops and steaks were juicy, the seafood was plump and fresh and the entree sides were hot and tasty. The bon bon chocolate was rich and velvety. I wish the chocolate in the lava cake was just as good, but it was a smidge not as rich in flavor. Nonetheless, we all left the restaurant full and very happy. What a great family friendly restaurant! We had a reservation and were seated within 5 minutes. We had a toddler with us and he really liked the pineapple on our agua fresca. The waitress brought some extra pineapple for him to munch on while we were awaiting on our food. We ordered the garlic steak, mashed potatoes, a western style hamburger without the bacon and a salmon and spinach salad. Everything was top notch! No problems customizing our orders. We eat here regularly and it is reliably wonderful. My husband is the real meat eater and this night he had the petite filet with lobster - both delicious as were his salad and creme brûlée. This chain restaurant rates about a 3.5 out of 5. I've been here before, but it had been awhile. Sad to say my recent Tomahawk Tuesday was not as great as prior visits. The tomahawk steak was over-seasoned and more gristly than the other times. It also seemed like the portions have gotten smaller even with the increased pricing in recent years. The chocolate lava cake dessert was probably our best menu item. Our main waitress was excellent, however the secondary support forgot to bring the bread refill. I took my wife and son to Flemmings on Mother's Day. We had been there on several prior occasions with generally good results. Not so much this time. we ordered the wedge salad which they kindly divided in three servings for us. It was excellent. I ordered an 11 ounce fillet and a lobster tail. My wife ordered a fillet and my son scallops. The fillets were cooked exactly to order and were fine except perhaps a little under flavored. My lobster tail was seriously undercooked, which is surprising given how easy lobster is to cook. When it was returned properly cooked 10 minutes later the "hot"butter had congealed and they didn't think of bringing a new one. I didn't bother to ask because I was afraid it would take them too long to replace it. The scallop dish twas underwhelming and small for its price. Our side dishes were mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts. The mashed potato dish was totally disappointing, both small ($19), uninteresting and not even hot. The brussels sprouts were OK but again small. The carrot cake and crème brûlée for dessert were excellent. With three drinks and tip the bill came to $500. I dined here with a large group this past Saturday night. The service was flawless, which is especially impressive given the size of our party. Since this is a steakhouse, my rating focuses primarily on the steak. Unfortunately, the 11oz filet, ordered medium rare, was significantly undercooked, almost to the point of still being "moo'ing." It was also incredibly fatty, likely due to the lack of cooking, making it difficult to chew. I heard similar feedback from others in the group regarding their undercooked steaks. On a brighter note, the beef carpaccio was decent, and the miso sea bass and lobster mashed potatoes were both delicious. As for the cocktails, they left something to be desired. The Vesper was strong and decent. The California Jam Jam was okay but would likely be improved with St. George's gin instead of Ketel vodka. The Pineapple Castaway was overly sweet and heavy on the pineapple. The Old Fashioned was also on the sweeter side, and the Garden Gimlet made with Hendrick's had an unpleasant aftertaste that became more noticeable as you got to the bottom of the glass. read more

Ambience is steak house, with nice décor. Dark and loud. The acoustics are not well done at all so don't expect to have a stimulating conversation with everyone at your table, unless they are right next to you. The menu is decent, not a plethora of options, but at least they have salads, and other things to go with their main meal options (meat items, fish, chicken). There are also shareable appetizers. I got the ribeye, with the béarnaise butter, and for shareable sides mac and cheese, asparagus, and mushrooms. Steak was a nice medium and the sides were tasty, especially the mac and cheese. We went here for our 38th wedding anniversary on an early dinner. When I made the reservation I neglect to ask for a booth but the host was able to get us in a booth for an hour and a half. Our food was good and the steaks were very tender. It was a bit noisy in the section where we were sitting. We had great service and our orders came out in good time. We decided to take our dessert home and this did take longer than we anticipated so we asked that it be packaged to go when it arrived. One of the desserts was the larva cake with ice cream and the ice cream was not put in a separate container so when we got home the cake was mostly soggy because much of the ice cream had melted on it. read more

I made a reservation for a Friday @ 5:00 PM, it was my friend's birthday. Under the notes of my reservation I added that we wanted to be seated at a booth by the Bar. Well we get there and they sat us at the dining room, I went back to ask the girl if she didn't saw the notes, then she checked and she mentioned that they don't take reservations for the bar area. So, I made reservations for my wife's birthday as she was desiring a great steak/meal. Upon arrival we checked in and were told they would seat us in a few minutes, so we turned around and walked back towards the front door only to be immediately called us back to be seated rather than just saying that from the beginning. It was a warning of the whole night. Shortly thereafter our waiter came and asked if we wanted any drinks which he took from us. Mind you the place was more half empty, however we waited 20 minutes for two drinks to arrive. Our order was taken and the appetizers came out as expected and were tasty. Unfortunately, we waited at least 30 minutes after our appetizers were cleared by the wait staff. We watched two other couples who sat down after us and were given their main meals before ours. Once getting our meals my wifes was excellent but my steak left a lot to be desired. I would of had a better steak at Outback or Texas Roadhouse. Then to top the night off we continued to wait excessively for our bill. Thanksgiving Day review. Ambiance was a 1 star. We made reservations one month ahead. We were seated in the back room that felt like a hotel conference room. Service 2 stars. Our server was an officious snob. When asked about the entrees, he simply said, "Well, it's lobster bisque...it has sherry." Seriously. Never asked how our meal was. The only time he was a bit friendly was when he was getting ready to get our bill, aka tip time. Food was mediocre. The salad was the most flavorful thing. The wine prices are outrageous at $27 per glass. We observed the table next to us ordered the filet mignon. They were not happy with their steaks and did not eat them. Fleming's by Catalina Foothills has good food and drinks. My husband used to take me there for our birthdays or when we wanted good steak. Sometimes the service is good, with okay ambiance and the place is always busy so reservations are required. The only reason I'm giving this review 4 stars and not 5 is because the last time we were there the Tomahawk steak was almost half the size of what it used to be and for $140 that is not right that the restaurant is still charging the same amount but less food. We went to Flemings on News Years Eve. The restaurant was busy and atmosphere cheerful. The Good: Almost everything we ordered received rave reviews. The service was mostly attentive but we did sit with empty water glasses a few times during the evening. The Bad: The Tomahawk (35oz)for $100 was a very poor value. The meat was trimmed horribly leaving gross inedible fat posing as part of the dish. As someone that weighs their food I can tell you there was possibly 10-12 oz of actual edible meat. I had 2 end slices and their was less than 2 bites of meat the rest was all fat (pictured) I actually had to search for the 2 bites. The Tomahawk was absolutely disappointing. My niece had 1 cut approx. 3"lx2"w, my nephew 2, and my husband 2or 3. In addition, we ask for med rare and it was much closer to rare. We've seen the Tomahawk at other restaurants and would expect much more value from a restaurant like Flemings. We did bring it up with the server but she argued a bit that the bone was heavy. Even if the bone was 12oz (it wasn't) that would be 23 ounces (or a 4-6 oz portion of cooked meat between 4 of us) She did offer to bring out more meat but said we would need to wait another 20 minutes. Its New Years who wants to make a fuss over something on the last day of the year so we let it go. The service was pleasant and the did hustle. However they put a couple of our dishes in front of the wrong people and that was confusing. The parking was crowded but adequate. The ambiance was pleasant. The bathrooms clean. I would never go back to Flemings if I based the decision on the meal I had and my review would have been rated much lower. However, since everyone that did not share the Tomahawk loved their meal I gave our evening out 4 stars. read more
