Menus haven't changed (except for prices of course) Ordered their Steak and Eggs, and added sausages for sides. Love how the servers make sure to keep my coffee cup full, almost all the time. The steak was tasty. Somewhat tough, but the flavor compensated. They give you a lot of potatoes and it is very filling, so I didn't eat a lot of it. Sausages were very tasty. step foot in country way and you'll have your patriotism (or any remainder of it after the past year) tested. it reeks of cigarettes and buttcheeks and the dishes presented look like all american slop. does it taste good? no! but in some ways you'll rediscover your love of america right in this little establishment. it's the place of memories, whether you want to reminisce or create new ones. this is the place you go when you're hungover, or when you're a broke teenager looking for a place to loiter with your massive friend group (there's only two girls, you have a crush on one of them, she's probably gay), or when you come back from a trip abroad in a country that does not have enough grease in their local cooking. you come to celebrate your 95 year old grandma's birthday (by the way she doesn't remember your name), and to go out with your football team (apparently your team has done well this season; coach naively offers to treat, so everyone except coach orders three dishes each and complains of hunger an hour after eating), and to meet up with random friends of your parents (you didn't even know they existed, and they spend an hour commenting on the following: your height, love life, and college applications). either way you want some cheap, easy, horrible food. you choke down your dish that's got oil puddles on the side and mysterious radioactive sauces because the portions are huge and binge eating is nigh. you save half, or a quarter, or maybe none of your dish for later, knowing that you will most definitely forget about the leftovers and trash them when they turn moldy. this is a true diner - arguably one of the most waffle house-esque establishments in fremont, and thus a quintessential american experience. you have to live it to understand it all: the questionably quick service, the servers stacking full plates on one arm, the pile of smuckers jam on every table, the chattering in multiple languages, and most importantly the trashy food. so would i encourage you to come here? ideally not at all! you will be disappointed beyond measure. but if you're like me and disillusioned with your american-ness you can come here and renew your patriotism. 3 stars for the experience. read more

Extremely poor service. Our server (an older woman with a British accent) was attentive to every table around us, frequently asking them how their meal was, but she didn't check on us a single time. We had to deal with missing utensils and water (only 2 sets for 3 people), and my request for an extra plate was ignored for 10 minutes until I had to get up and grab one myself. At the end, she even "lost" our bill. The blatant difference in how we were treated compared to other patrons was impossible to ignore and felt discriminatory. It's a shame because we expected a much better environment. Save your money and go somewhere where all customers are treated with basic respect. Food is good. Really amazing breakfast place that has been around since the 90s. The service is so speedy and seamless between staff from the moment we walked in, everyone is so attentive. The food came in what felt like a few minutes after we ordered and everything was hot and comforting. I ordered the country fried steak which comes with toast, potatoes and eggs your way. The gravy was so smooth and done well, the potatoes are sweetened which was interesting. The only reason this wasn't a 5 star for me was the country fried steak wasn't the tastiest, it was okay but the best that I've had in terms of texture and seasoning. Stopped in for lunch. This restaurant goes back to my childhood with very rustic dining room in an A-frame wood building. The service was friendly and good. The prices are reasonable. The portions are also very good size. Meals come with soup or salad. I ordered the salad, which is a lot of lettuce with garbanzo beans and kidney beans on top with choice of dressing. I also had the patty melt which was tasty with meat patty, grilled onions, served with steak potatoes. I thoroughly enjoyed it although the bottom was soggy and my patty was only 1/2 of the bread. It was thick however I feel it should have been formed to fill the rye bread it was served on. My meal was again very tasty. My offend ordered the soup with the open-faced turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. The soup was Chicken and Rice however it was very thick and gelatinous , more like cream of chicken. Then the server brought his plate and apologize that they had ran out of mashed potatoes and substituted fries instead. He had ordered it mostly for the mashed potatoes and gravy, but they never mentioned being out of potatoes until it arrived. Then it was missing the cranberry sauce which he asked for and she brought him some. Being that there was gravy all over the turkey, it also got onto much of the fries and caused some to become soggy. By this time he really wished he would have ordered something different but we were hungry and didn't want to send it back. I came here for breakfast, but what I got was a personality test. The pancakes were dry. Not just dry. Desert convention keynote speaker dry. Rubbery too, which raises questions I don't want answered. How is that even possible? It's like they engineered a new state of matter just to spite maple syrup. And the butter. Packaged. Little plastic hotel squares of sadness. Who in the world gives you packaged butter for pancakes? I expected a pat of butter, not a scavenger hunt prize sponsored by inconvenience. The bacon was chewy with sections that looked like they were shown a pan from across the room but never formally introduced. At one point I genuinely wondered if they swapped in ham as a prank. If it was a prank, congratulations, I noticed. Hash browns arrived resembling a mashed potato sculpture that somehow got its PhD in structural integrity. It tasted exactly like mashed potatoes that decided to cosplay as something fried just long enough to hold its shape for the photo. To their credit, the eggs were correct. The bar is on the floor, but they stepped over it gracefully. However, the chef clearly believes over easy means over everything. There was a literal oil puddle surrounding the eggs, like they were trying to escape by raft. Then the Belgium waffle. Belgium was nowhere to be found. I checked under the plate. Nothing. It was crispy, overcooked, and existentially confused. It wasn't a waffle. It was a warning. This is a disappointment of Olympic scale. For decades this place was known for incredible pancakes, French toast, and Belgium waffles. Those days are long gone. Long long gone. We drove up from the South Bay to relive nostalgia, but 2026 clearly had other plans. Maybe it changed owners. Maybe the recipes staged a quiet rebellion. Whatever happened, this is no longer breakfast, it's archaeology. Consider this place officially crossed out on the list of top breakfast spots in the Bay. read more

Wanted some breakfast after a morning walk. Decided to try this place out. It's located near the 880 exit. I've driven past this place so many times and never really seemed to notice it. There is a good amount of parking. Among walking in, you're greeted by such a charming interior. It's like you're in a lodge cabin up in the snowy mountains. You can just tell by how the staff and customers interact with each other that it's the spot where they are definitely regulars. I got the chicken apple sausage with the eggs over medium and wheat toast with potatoes. At first they got my order wrong and gave me scrambled eggs instead, but they fixed the issue and came out with my over medium eggs in the quickness. The food was great, comforting breakfast food. The potatoes weren't really my cup of tea but that's okay. My friend liked it. I really liked how they use this old fashion cash register. They say little details count, and I'm a fan of how they serve coffee in little teacups vs mugs. Sitting at the counter, the servers were continuously topping the coffee off even if I took a few sips, ensuring my coffee was always hot. 10/10 This place brings the country to you, with simple and consistent great food. I went here on 11/30/24 around 9 AM. I saw GrubwithMike's review on Tiktok and wanted to try this place. The Host wanted to seat me at the bar but the Filipino Lady told me I can sit at the booth which I am grateful for. More space for me. I forgot her name but she was very kind and kept checking on me. Always in the going out for breakfast rotation. Went at 0900 on a Saturday and didn't have a line at all and actually there were a few open tables. It's a classic diner feel inside and definitely is a throwback look. I always get the french toast combo and it never fails me. French toast isn't standard but it thin and battered. Scrambled eggs and crispy bacon are the standbys for me in the combo. The service is very fast, as soon as you sit down the waitress is normally ready to take your order within a couple of minutes if you aren't ready they will swing back by just about every minute until you are set. Food is ready and brought out in just a few minutes. Coffee and water is topped off constantly so you never worry about emptying the cup or glass. read more

It's the first time I came here for lunch. Usually when I go to diners like this, I eat breakfast. When I looked at this place, I see that they serve steak fries and peaked my interest. They also changed hours to where they only serve breakfast and lunch. I guess it's because no one goes here during the evening. I'm quite shocked with how delicious the steak fries are. We had to kill some time while our car was being worked on and decided to take a Lyft to the nearest recommended place to get some breakfast. We were greeted and seated immediately by the hostess at the door. Soon after our waitress, Gina, greeted us and she was the sweetest, kind, happy and energetic early in the morning. She just had a very special at about her. Hubby and I got our own orders of the Greek omelette and sourdough toast. I was not prepared for how huge our orders would be and that we should have shared. We both ended up eating half of everything including our toast and took the rest with us since we were on a road trip. Everything was so good too! Even the coffee being topped off no matter what and I loved that it was in a tea cup. The restroom was big, well lit and clean too. I truly enjoyed the food but most of all the service especially our waitress, Gina, she just was so nice and watching her whiz around the restaurant tending to everyone in a timely manner was a sight to see. We were second on the list but Waited like 20 mins as we saw people walk in, the guy asks how many and they were seated right away. It's not your typical French toast. It's flat and crispy but still fluffy. I loved it! My friends got the country fry steak which they said it was ok. The French toast was different as it was more a mashup of pancake and toast. Pancake part tasted good. Steak was cooked to ask requested which is a feat in itself so that's off to the chef.
