    "Cheese Quesadilla" - Kid's Menu
    Matthew L.

Firehouse Deli is a delicatessen that opened in Fairfield, Connecticut in 1969. Located in Fairfield Center, the deli offers a wide variety of breakfast and lunch items seven days a week. Sandwiches and wraps dominate both menus. The deli has been voted "The Best Sandwiches & Salad Bar in Fairfield County", and a recent People Magazine article called them the "Best Sandwich in Connecticut". The deli is currently owned by restaurateur partners William Auer and Susan Dedrick. My family and I recently stopped at Firehouse Deli for lunch. We really liked the design motif of the place. Everything is painted a bright "fire engine red" and the interior is decorated from top to bottom with various fire department memorabilia. The place was packed when we arrived, but we soon learned that the line moves very quickly. My wife and I ordered and shared the "Sacred Heart Wrap" (warm chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, lettuce, tomato, hot cherry peppers, Caesar dressing, tortilla) and the "Buffalo Soldier" (chicken cutlet, hot sauce, pepper jack cheese, blue cheese dressing, lettuce, hard roll). These were excellent deli sandwiches made with fresh, flavorful ingredients. For our young sons, we ordered off of the Kid's Menu. Our older son had the "Chicken Finger with Fries" while our younger son had the "Cheese Quesadilla". They were both happy with their food. We all had a fun family experience at Firehouse Deli and we look forward to visiting again in the future.

Looking for a fresh turkey and swiss sandwich while running errands, I decided to try Firehouse Deli. The place is set up nice and has a great seating area in the back and outside too. Menus are prominently displayed with lots of options for breakfast and lunch. I was feeling good about my choice to try this place and ordered in house roasted turkey with swiss, mayo and lettuce on a hard roll. There was a steady stream of customers, but I noticed those who ordered after me were being called. Hmmm. Maybe they had a lot of call in orders ahead of mine? The girls working the counter saw me standing and waiting....and then proceeded to cut a cake behind the counter and eat it with their hands. WTH? I finally asked if there was a problem with my order as it had been over 10 mins. "Oh Denise? Here you go,"said the girl who had taken my order. It had been sitting on the counter the whole time. I left rather disgusted and annoyed only to find there was no mayo on the sandwich and it had tomato. Sloppy and unacceptable customer service and poor food safety protocols make me wonder what else is going on. $9.99 for a turkey and cheese sandwich which wasn't even correct? I will not be returning.

Great spot to get your lunch in Fairfield. Plenty of seating outside, and walking distance from a small park on a beautiful New England day. They menu has much to choose from, but so far all I have been ordering has been the Dan-O and a Oktoberfest. It can be a bit confusing for a newcomer. You order at the back, and pick up and pay in the front...or you pay first and pick up once your order is ready. It can become crowded it this old Fire House, but it's worth it. O, there is seating in the back too!

As a go-to place for locals in Fairfield in a great location, this place is awesome! I love their sandwiches, vibes, and fries. Would suggest for a quick and easy lunch spot any day!

$12 for a sandwich with like two slices of Turkey on it. What a ripoff. It's unfortunate because the quality is good but I'll never be back.

I have been going to firehouse since middle school for their tasty sandwiches and homemade pickles. It's the perfect spot to grab a sandwich for lunch or to take to the beach. My go to is the Thanksgiving - turkey, cranberry sauce, and homemade cornbread stuffing with mayo on a hard roll. They've got a wide variety of drinks, chips, and salads. Great service and pretty quick but can take a while on the weekends so try to preorder!

Horrible customer service, the staff working the counter are rude. Okay sandwich spot, but overpriced. Better options in the area.

This place is always packed and I've never understood it. Pine Creek deli down the road is far better.

This place gets packed and I have no idea why. The sandwiches are all bread with very little meat. Flavor is good but not worth the wait.

Agusto's Italian Deli - De The di Parma Sandwich

Friendly welcoming staff…read more We tried 3 sandwiches on grinders. The bread was below average. Just thick chewy white bread. No crunch. Not warmed. Pretty bad bread. little Louie: fair at best. Cutlets were okay. "Di Parma": healthy amount of prosciutto, good flavor combo. American comb: ample amount of meats. Good sandwich. Could use a couple of tables and chairs inside while waiting for your sandwich. Bread needs to improve! Service and staff bumped this review to 4. Sandwiches a 3.

Augusto's Deli is the real deal…read more I'm not a big fan of most of what Fairfield has to offer especially deli-wise, I'm comparing sandwiches to what I'd get in the Bronx or North Jersey. The standards are high. The minute I walked into Augusto's, I knew this place was different. It's a simple deli setup--sandwiches, drinks, hot food--but everything about it felt right. I ordered the Diablo and a San Pellegrino Limonata. While I was at the counter, one of the guys asked if I had been there before and what brought me in. After talking for a minute, I introduced myself and found out it was Augusto himself. He's from the Bronx--and it shows. This deli screams Bronx in the best possible way. I couldn't wait to eat the sandwich. I was taking bites before I even pulled out of the parking spot. It was exactly what I wanted-- mouth was screaming, hands down the best sandwich I've had in Fairfield County. If you want a real sandwich, don't waste your time going anywhere else. Go here. Easily the #1 sandwich shop in connecticut, I've been to all in the area. Seriously, go here or don't bother.
