9/13/2025 6:20pm Not a good experience. Was not greeted when we came in, the 4 workers kept their heads down and were very quit. The person on the register did not greet us, he stood there and looked at us, it was really odd. We ordered then grabbed our drinks. The pop machine and condiment area was really dirty and sticky and the rest of the dining room oiled pretty unkept. My hook and ladder was lacking meat and did not have any onion or tomatoes. I was going to take it back up to the counter but one of the young men came out and started straightening chairs. That would have been great EXCEPT he was wearing his food gloves! He straightened chairs then went right back behind the counter and started making sandwiches, he never changed gloves or washed his hands. I watched the other employees handle the register and also had their food gloves in. Gross! Please management retrain this group of employees!

These are pretty good sandwiches. I didn't get a chance to snap my sandwich unfortunately. I got a small Hook & Ladder sub. All sandwiches seem to come toasted and are served with a side of a pickle spear. They serve Coke products. And have a large assortment of chips. They sell salads and other items as well. The customer service was nice , quick and efficient. The store itself was pretty clean and you can order ahead and pickup your order with no contact. I will have to come back and try out other sandwiches for sure.

Is it me or is this place S.L.O.W.? As much as I love Firehouse Subs, their lack of friendliness and speed is a bummer. I've gone two tunes- once during the lunch rush (which I can understand the wait a little bit) and then again at dinner when there were only 2 customers besides myself there. Maybe delivery or ordering ahead will be a better plan moving forward.

It really gave me RVA (Richmond, VA circa early 2000s) nostalgia vibes like for places I worked in around Broadway during college! Wow. Love everything about this place. I'd been going to a lot of coffee shops lately where the style is all like new stuff and new style (which I LOVE) but the style of Tessa Delicatessen was so unexpectedly refreshing. I didn't realize that this part of Colfax was Park Hill! I saw a lot of other interesting places nearby. Can't wait to go back and wander! Not sure if it was the owner that greeted me at the register but she was very friendly and warm. I love the self serve coffee and water and you get to pick a unique mug to drink from. Really strong neighborhood vibe and I think she said it had been open since 2017. So cool! I'm obsessed with the spaciousness and space! My breakfast sandwich did explode all over my hand - so be careful! The egg is soft inside! I got coffee, cheesy hash and the breakfast sandwich. $25 for everything including tip. I think that's a great deal for a lovely morning vibe and breakfast in 2026!

We finally made our first trip to the Hilltop location…read more We hail from DC, so we were surprised we learned about Call Your Mother after moving to Denver. Thank goodness we did! Their bagels are inspired by both New York and Montreal styles, giving them a perfectly chewy texture with just a hint of sweetness. They're fantastic on their own, but they really shine as the foundation for these breakfast sandwiches. I ordered the Thunderbird, and as someone who normally avoids both salt & pepper bagels (I know...weird) and sweet-and-savory combinations, I wasn't sure what to expect. Turns out I was completely wrong. The maple chicken sausage, fluffy bodega-style eggs, melty American and cheddar, spicy honey, and maple salt & pepper bagel somehow create the perfect balance. Nothing overpowers anything else, and every bite just works. My friend had the Pastrami Sun City, which was equally outstanding. The pastrami was tender and flavorful, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the spicy honey added just the right amount of sweetness without stealing the show. We also ordered the latkes, served with both sour cream and applesauce. Crispy on the outside, tender inside, and exactly what you want from a great potato pancake. Being able to switch between the tang of the sour cream and the sweetness of the applesauce made them even better. And don't leave without grabbing a Chocolate Babka Muffin. It has that rich chocolate swirl you'd expect from babka with a crunchy, sugary exterior that's impossible to resist. The colorful, upbeat atmosphere matches the food, and it's clear this place has developed its own identity instead of trying to imitate a traditional deli. That's refreshing. Service is friendly and quick. We saw several people picking up ordrs to go as well. For a first visit, this was a home run. We'll absolutely be back - and next time we're diving into more of the bagels and schmears. Denver is lucky to have a spot like this.

I had to inform her of the Parisian, which I knew she would love, and tempting her to visit me sooner than later. This market is my absolute favorite for everything from a quick pick up bite, to beautiful produce and a meat/fish counter which will make you want to turn into Julia Childs herself. Don't get me started on the chocolate offerings or candies from small (some local) businesses which are to die for. All of the staff is polite, informative and helpful. The wine shop next door has some unique finds and def worth grabbing a bottle for yourself, a gift or to share at a dinner party. Only bummer about this place...the hours. I get it, but the early close time gives me anxiety, gotta beat the clock.

If you are a foodie or just love to eat really well, Marczyk's should be in your list of places to visit frequently. Loved it.
