Seriously, where's the freaking dalmation? This place is called "firehouse" for a reason. Don't go in there if you're hung over, tend to have migraines, or live in a cave. The whole place is painted bright red with black and white mixed in, and the people who work there are waay overly friendly and cheery (but still not as overly friendly and cheery as the chicks at Rudy's... those girls are like happy meals with legs). Really liked the hot chicken Sammy here. The chicken seems shaved, but also chunky. Nothing I have been able to get elsewhere around here. We have been a few times, and the people working here have always been very nice and helpful. I usually get one sandwich, and can make two meals out of it, so the price is OK for me, but it is a bit high for just one sandwich. Stopped here on our way downtown for a quick dinner and for being a sub shop it was pretty awesome. It was clean and the staff was very nice. They even brought our subs to the table instead of calling out our names which I valued. I think my bread was just baked because it was still warm all over and perfectly crusty on top. The club on a sub with mo onions was exactly what I wanted. The sweet of the steamed ham and turkey was so good with the salty of the bacon and melty cheese. They used the perfect amount of mustard and mayo. I love their hot sauces and bbq sauces lined up on the counter. Their house hot sauce is like a bbq sauce. Loved it on my sub. My husband had the steamer and he said of course it was good when I asked. We were both happy with our subs. I do love that you can order a medium which is either 8" or 9" for those where 6 is too small and footlong is too big. We have been here before and I really like this location. I was really craving firehouse sub last night. I placed an order at the location, but that night it took awhile longer since there was one person in front of me. After getting my order and thinking nothing of it, I went home. When I got home, I bit into my sub and it tasted different. It wasn't what I was craving. Turns out that they gave me a completely different sandwich than what I had ordered. My sandwich must've gotten mixed up with another customers sandwich. Usually, I place a lot of importance on the hot sauce options variety when I visit a new place. With that being said, Firehouse does not disappoint with their hot sauce options. If you're looking for mild spice, extra hot, something cajun, or anything in between, it'll probably be up on the counter. 5 stars for hot sauce. 5 stars for service-- friendly, helpful, quick. 3 stars for veggie options. Update: been here only twice Allergy note: my experience here will not be like yours because I have a shellfish allergy. They cook their mushrooms in something that obviously triggers that. I didn't actually test this of course, but the mushroom last time really brought the sandwich together so I'm more than a little disappointed by this. The hot sauces I've tried so far really aren't. Weirdly they don't just have a big bottle of Serracha. Recommend hot sauce includes Cheech Garlic sauce for flavor or one of the many habenero sauces for heat. Pros: * Good service, reasonably fast * Have one of those "anything" drink machines. I just drink water, but I know it's a draw. Cons: * Overall arrangement - The table placement needs some work. I'd also switch directions that the place is setup so that you walk in the front door to walk up and order. Right now it's sort of a zig zag, which doesn't make sense for where they put the drinks. * I'm a little wary of the public servant thing to sell stuff. If you're a former firefighter or cop who had to retire, you're welcome to that and kudos. But if you're just part of a chain that sells sandwiches trading on the names of no-joke heroes? I know they've got some charity stuff, but I'd something overt for when it's a topic I take very personally. * Need to lose the TV. * Don't recycle anything. I typically love firehouse and have no issues. This location can not seem to get the bugs under control, food in stock, or computer systems working. I highly recommend firehouse, but avoid this location. Ownership seems to not keep up to Corp standards. read more

This location is my favorite. They are so personable there and they know the regulars and our orders. Can't beat that for a chain restaurant. The Italian is the best thing on there menu. It also has the free select coke machine with all the flavors. The TV is an added touch if you are dining alone. Overall great menu read more

I also enjoyed Tin Star for lunch every now and then before they left and Firehouse came in. My coworkers and I ate here last week. It was my first experience at a Firehouse before. While it was quite busy for lunch (on a Friday none the less), there was ample seating and room to move around. The employees were fairly pleasant overall. My coworker was highly disappointed that they did not yell "Welcome to Firehouse" when we entered... he left the building 4 times after we ordered to try and get them to "welcome" him, but they never did - but they seemed to great everyone else. He was quite heartbroken and hung his head as we left - albeit with the children's fire helmet atop. The important thing though is the food. I was not overly impressed at all. The quantity of the large sub was almost overwhelming, but considering the prices are quite similar, I prefer Quizno's from a food aspect. I had the club sandwich which was alright, but not enough to keep me going back here. Overall, it was a decent experience but I can get better sandwiches (in my opinion) at Subway for less or at Quizno's for a similar price. read more

I used to give this location a solid 4 stars occasionally 5. The reason I have downgraded to a 2 star review is the hot sauce. I used to come here and try out hot sauces I've never heard of, it started a love of mine for spicy food. There used to be about 30 different types of hot sauce and only a select few were your run of the mill brands like tapatio, Cholula, and Melindas, which now make up about 90% of the options. I am - well was a weekly almost 3-4 times a week visitor of subway we can say I have a sub addiction lol - my boyfriend and I always heard the commercials for firehouse subs and I never knew there was one at and he found one in Killeen by the lowes. we went and they gave us a "first time visit" mixed sandwich where we paid for a large and got to try 2 different sandwiches I did the bbq and whatever the one with turkey was and they were both to die for as well as I got chicken noodle soup and was amazing. - not to mention they had a fun soda dispenser - I enjoyed mixing flavors. I went to subway today just because it is so much closer but its hard to enjoy it now that ive had firehouse sub:/ I was so disappointed. the flavor and taste just is not there. read more

The food was good. There was some variety. However, it was a little expensive for the type of food- family of 5 cost close to $45 and we could have had a sit down dinner for that price. The only complaint on the food is that the bread got soaked by the time you finished the sandwich and then my husband could not finish it. read more

This place gets busy and seems understaffed. Good news the employees that do work at this location do a great job and have nice attitudes. Greet you as you come in and say thank you when you leave. My to go order was horribly wrong. Should I have double checked my order, perhaps, but why should I have to? To be fair, I've had many subs made the way I ordered them and they were delicious, which is what made today so disappointing. I ordered a hook and ladder with special mustard, meat and cheese only, I got a hook and ladder fully involved with mayo (which I hate) and no mustard! The mayo was slathered on both pieces of bread and soaked through it. Try as I might, I was unable to get the mayo off the bread and meat enough so that I could enjoy my sandwich.
