Food good, but the cashier in the front (guy with long red hair in a ponytail) was quite possibly the rudest cashier I've ever met right from the get go. He seemed like he would rather be anywhere but there. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would be happy to have his job. Eye rolling, off putting tone of voice and huffily ringing everything up. This is the second time i get food from here, and i tell you what the subs ate outstanding. Great taste, great service, and great selection of food. I ate the brisket bbq sub and the meet was tender and moist. My wife had the meet ball and those meet balls where outstanding and their veggie subs are just outstanding. Went here for lunch and plus I had a coupon. I see and hear the raves about this place and placed an order for myself (Turkey and cranberry spread) and a Kids meal. You get a choice of rice krispie or chips for 50 cents more and a drink ... that's it. I just got a sandwich and small chips. They have this huge digitized soda machine and so you get a WIDE choice of beverages. All in all, the meal was ok....I may or may not come back but do suggest to those to give it a try. read more

Great subs, but a huge mistake at the soda machine... First time I tried Firehouse, i thought the Italian Cold Cut was the best way to judge. I dont normally like "toasted" cold subs, but they nailed this sub to the wall. They use ultra thin sliced meats, which is unique, but i liked it. Not a fan of the constant yelling out "WELCOME TO FIREHOUSE" by the line staff, but it does give life. Today, I counted 16 people in line for the soda machine. Apparently, someone at Firehouse, - or Coke- wanted to find out how to slow access to the highest margin product in any restaurant, and boy did they figure it out... put a Windoze-based touch screen in charge. Its a novel idea and the WORST place to put technology. Soda food cost is somewhere around 5% and must be able to FLY off the shelves. Get rid of that mess, and Ill add a star! read more

I visited this location today and ordered a small sub. Small is not what I would call it. It was more like an hors d'oeuvre or a kiddie portion. And the price was not reasonable for that size. The soda was 5 times as big. This business should eliminate small as a reasonable size. Plus the person taking orders was not wearing the mask correctly. Nose goes inside the mask! Fast, fun, and consistently delicious. The staff are nice and always make our visits enjoyable. My wife and I like the Steamer best, but none of the sandwiches have let us down. Subs are one of my favorites for lunch and this place knows how to do a sub just right - their steak subs are one of the best I had in MD. I only wish there was a location closer to me. Great subs and friendly employees! I like the Club on a Sub and I've gotten it every time I've been in (4 times so far!), but everything looks yummy. The Coca-Cola Freestyle machines are pretty cool--I get the light strawberry lemonade every time. If you're in the area, it's worth stopping by! I've been meaning to check out the Annapolis location as well, so I'll be sure to review that location as well once I get around to it! The thing of it is, how do you know if you got a great sub staring at you? I mean, they all have pretty much the same components, right? You got your meat, cheese, veggies and condiments - so, what makes this place so great? Be forewarned, this review may have you running to your nearest Firehouse Sub shop right now. The combination of super fresh shaved meats, lying on top of each other (neither flattened, crammed nor smooshed), but gentle like, on a bed of just shredded, crunchy lettuce and any other amazingly fresh veggies you want. I asked for them to heat mine and the cheese was the perfect amount. Spread some of that hot pepper relish on it. Oh the hands at work here, know what they're doing. The roll was fresh, chewy. One bite, and the tiniest of hot pepper spread, plops onto my shirt - a sign of sheer sub heaven. I've eaten the meatball sub and it is sooo yummy! The meatballs don't taste like reheated frozen balls, but the real thing, sitting in a satisfying tomato sauce, topped with gloriously melted cheese, sprinkled with oregano. read more

Stopped in yesterday for a turkey bacon ranch sub. It was just ok - the bread was kind of soggy and the flavors were on the bland side; however, the staff was super-friendly and inviting. Know before you go... these subs do not hold up to carryout longer than maybe five minutes. Steamed subs are a great idea if you like your meat moist and your cheese melty. The quality of ingredients here is as good as you could want. There is nothing too surprising or interesting here. Just quality subs that are ruined if you try to take them home. read more

When we went back the second time, they slathered so much mayo on my tuna sandwhich (yuck!!!), I threw the entire sandwhich in the trash. He understood because he knows I hate mayo on a sandwhich. Firehouse Subs food is good when i go in, but when i call it's a different story. Normally, and this happens often, when i call it's always "can we put you on hold for a second?" i say "okay cool, thats fine" but i'll be on hold longer than i should be. Once time i was on hold for 15-20 mins and when i heard someone coming back i said "hello?" and the phone just hung up. i should be getting excellent customer service in person and on the phone. This happens often and i'm not a happy person about it at all. I want my subs but when i'm on hold that long and then it just hangs up i'm gonna get angry. I've been to Firehouse a few times now, and I think they are a pretty good sandwich option. I've had the Turkey Bacon Ranch, Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar Brisket, and the Steak and Cheese. Out of that bunch, the best was the steak and cheese, worst was the turkey. The brownies are awesome. The cherry limeade was too syrupy. All in all, it's nice to have a different sandwich option close by. read more

Heaping full of meatballs and spicy sauce, melted provolone cheese, toasted....my mouth is watering! I order the wheat roll which is delicious and fresh. Friendly staff, including a staff member who asks if you need anything. You order at the counter and take a seat. Clean tables in a dalmation motif, Firehouse memorabilia displayed and staff members that will answer any questions. The owners are young, eager and have a winner on their hands! Great food, I like to do takeout orders from here and people at office are always excited to jump in. Casual restaurant, order at register and they'll bring your food out to you. Service has always been quick but it can get very crowded. They recently installed a second one of their soda machines (touchscreen pick a flavor) so the bottleneck isn't as bad as it used to be. But I still find it a gimmick that isn't worth the wait. Staff is friendly, they like to yell out jingos, which I find more annoying then entertaining. If you like a hot sandwich, this is the place to go. If you don't, there's really not anything for you here, so picky eaters may want to stay away. read more

Best subs in the area, and I've been everywhere (Jersey Mike's is a close 2nd). Staff are wonderful. They have a wonderful drink mix machine, and a very clean environment. The review would be 5 stars, but I've had inconsistent service (sometimes slow, once got too much grizzle when I ordered sauteed onions). That aside, I keep coming back here! TIP: you can buy any of the hot sauce's they have, just ask the cashier to ring it up as a "hot shot". The prices are extremely comparable to buying them online.
