the laudable Hook & Ladder, Fully Involved

At $5.69, a regular size Hook & Ladder represents a bargain. I don't know how they achieve the balance of ingredients, but when served "fully involved", this is one terrific sandwich. Also, Firehouse now has the new, digital, Coke machines. If the sandwiches aren't enough to get you in the door, you've got to try out these soda dispensers. Coke Zero alone has about eight choices: Cherry, Cherry Vanilla, Raspberry, Lemon... In all, the machines deliver 120 different flavor combinations. With drink, my lunch was under 8 bucks.

So I finally tried Firehouse Subs and I was not impressed. I did not find the staff to be all that friendly especially after stating that I had never been to Firehouse Subs. Plus, I found the service to be slow. However, they do bring your order to your table as I dined in. I opted to try their turkey bacon ranch speciality sub combo ( added a drink and chips). The turkey bacon ranch speciality sub is a sub with smoked turkey breast, pepper bacon, sharp cheddar cheese topped with peppercorn ranch, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and onion. As for the sub, it was just okay, nothing particularly special about it really. I personally could of made a better one at home and for the price of almost $12, I also found it to be on the smaller side and definitely not worth the price.

Ive heard that firehouse is pretty decent, but in my case it didn't turn out to be. It was fairly slow business at the time i went, about 4pm. I ordered the medium steak and cheese which has mushrooms, peppers, mayo, and onion i believe. This by far was the worse cheesesteak I've ever had. (Subway is now second to worse). The steak was just a texture, no flavor at all, the cheese was bland, and the sandwich overall was just blah. In addition to that, a medium combo was $11! I could buy a small ribeye and make a great sandwich for half that price. The sandwich portion size should be really good for that price, but it wasn't. If the sandwich was amazing and had great flavors then maybe it would be worth it, but Lenny's makes a far better cheesesteak as far as chains go. Maybe ill try something different one day if I'm feeling like gambling with a good amount of money for lunch. read more

I visit this location each time I get the chance and I love the food. With a friendly staff, great food and location it's hard to beat the experience. I enjoy the food enough that I have to get half of my sandwich to go while I eat the other half at their restaurant; otherwise I wouldn't get anything done the rest of the day :) read more

I ordered catering from them for a medical office lunch and they are fantastic! Cyndi delivered everything and set it all up. She is so sweet and helpful! The catering came with cups, utensils, plates etc. I love that I can rely on them, because a lot of places will deliver catering and forget the plastic ware. Cyndi was great and didn't mind waiting until the office was ready to set up. I highly recommend this location!! Thank you for the delicious sandwiches and smooth delivery/set up today! read more

Firehouse always has good sandwiches, but today my review is about the service. I tried to sneak a peak at her name tag, but she was working so hard I couldn't catch her name! :) Cyndi I think. She was absolutely lovely, so gracious and nice to the guests, working hard to keep the restaurant clean, and saying thank you and have a good day to every customer. An employee with a work ethic and positive attitude like that is priceless. Give that woman a raise!!! read more

the subs here are very good. we ordered the philly cheese steak.. so glad we got the biggest size because they definitely are a little on the small side. but the sandwich was flavorful and satisfying and we enjoyed the many bottles of hot sauces in the front that we get to slather our sandwiches w/. read more

I had a quick dinner here with my husband before he attended a meeting closeby. The firehouse red inside oozes a positive vibe even looking from outside and the black&white adds to the clean feel. There are 10 specialty hot subs plus some not-so-special hot/cold subs. We chose to share the New York Steamer -- as hearbroken Pats fans, the least we can do is to attack a New Yorker when we see one. The sandwich was promptly brought to our table, nicely split onto two baskets, each accompanied by a pickle (great customer service!). Compared to all those ginormous sandwiches with layers of deli meat that you may have seen on some food tv shows, it was a baby but hey, who needs a monstrous sandwich after a Super Bowl Sunday? It was one simple and tasty sandwich with corned beef, pastrami and melted provolone cheese. After devouring it, we felt content. Ok, maybe we could handle just a little more . What a pleasant surprise this place is. First time in this chain of sub shops apparently started by firemen. The place was busy but everything was running smoothly with the well organized order taking, sub making and service. The waitstaff is pleasant and attentive, even gave me a free chocolate chip cookie. The sub was very good and I can't wait to try some of the other selections. The shop itself was very clean and the employees were constantly cleaning, and restocking. The food, service and total experience was much better than the Subway just around the corner. read more

This is my favorite chain sandwich shop. Bread is very good and ingredients are well-balanced and portions of sufficient size so that you get a good, tasty sandwich from first to last bite. Selection is good, and there is a great selection of hot sauces. Good value for the money. Restaurant is very clean and service is very good. read more

Firehouse Subs wins my vote for the absolute best sub in town! I love the meat here it is fresh deli meat versus the processed meat a bunch of sub shops use. Also, the bread is delicious here! Lots of options on the menu for a cheap price. Firehouse House subs need I say are on FIRE! They provide Freshest ingredients for a low price at a convenient location! read more

This is the Firehouse Subs that got me hooked on the place. Ever since my girlfriend took me here I have wanted more to open in Colorado. The Italian is great. The place is clean, staff is friendly and the ambiance is pleasant. Management really goes above and beyond to ensure a great experience. read more

Growing up in a family that is both entrepreneurial and built on more than 200 years of firefighting heritage, it seems we were destined to start Firehouse Subs. Of course we tried other things along the way to our American dream, but everything we experienced on our path led us to Firehouse Subs. Over 20 years after opening the first restaurant, with over 1,100 Firehouse Subs restaurants, we're convinced we're doing a few things right. Turns out, people absolutely love the same things we do - the best meats, cheeses, and toppings we can find. This is not a well-performing store. Places like this unfortunately just need to go out of business to make room for someone else who knows how to run a restaurant. I won't be returning.

I had a perfect dirty martini and my husband had an excellent old fashioned ( chose not to do the smoked version. ) We were seated at the time of our reservation with courteous and prompt attention from our waiter. He informed us of all the specials and gave us the right amount of time to relax before ordering. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. I like the atmosphere, not too large of a dining area, I like the separate room of tables, with a fireplace, along with the area of booths for a more intimate setting. The bar itself is large and has seating on the outskirts of it as well.

I do believe C and I have only been here once as a couple. It did not go well at all, so we have not been back together, as she is holding a bit of a grudge. It's a long story but it all ties back to service. That night we had the worst table in the building and service was spotty at best. Food was still pretty good, just whole ass annoyed by the entirety of the rest of the experience. I am lucky enough to be able to be taken to/host dinner with clients and manufacturers a good bit. They like places like this so I get by ever so often. Gotta love expensed meals!!! Tehehe I like the open kitchen concept they have and the bar is really cool. The metal shelves at the bar that store the booze are bad ass. It's warm and cozy and has a great vibe overall. The last time we sat on the enclosed patio. I had not sat out there before. I think the larger tables all go out there. We had seven and there was another group of about twenty in the same room with us. Food ranges from fairly good to fucking great. I've never had anything bad here, but a few sighs have been had, mostly by misunderstood expectations of what I was getting I would say. So, quite possibly I am the problem. As with most of my problems, actually... The oysters Rockefeller are very different from the norm. Fried oysters on a side of spinach. That's what it seems like. I ate it up, don't get me wrong. I did just switch to only fried oysters after the first one. No need wasting stomach space on spinach. Charbroiled oysters is always a good move and the preparation remains traditional on that one. I do find the oysters to be quite massive and hard to chew the whole thing at once. Cutting them just seems silly though. Steaks are prepared very well and to your liking each time. I have never had a bad one. Good flavor too. I am going to spring on the Hawaiian Ribeye the next time I go on my dime. It's a classic that I remember from Steak and Ale as well as Houston's. Both now gone from Memphis. I like the she crab soup an awful lot, and just about every entree I have had here is killer. You really cannot go wrong with the food. Just order something you normally like and boom. I will also say this. The short ribs I had last time were some of the best I have ever had. Bravo on that! Additionally, I had two giant pieces for like $40! I could only eat one of them after all of the appetizers. Oh.... Yea. They have a hot lobster roll that is good! You don't see that in Memphis very often!! Get you some. Wait.... Lamb Lollipops. They have evolved some of the years but they have really good lamb chops. They used to be the exact same dish as their sister concepts of Itta Bena, BB Kings, and Lafayette's. I am not sure if the whole family still has the old version or not. Here it has changed a good bit. As I write this, I crave it.... Ugh. Damn your foods and your seductive prowess food skills! Lastly, Tommy Peters did great things for this city's food scene. The Prime Rib Sandwich was more bread than meat. The Fried were good. The Cajun Pasta with Chicken was good but little slices of chicken. The breakfast plate was the best. The waitress was very good. They have a lot of customers but I don't see why they have to cut certain portions to make a profit. Be mindful what you should order.

I recently bought a pair of large, hot, sub sandwiches to take home. They were both perfectly made, with my requested customizations. Their food tastes really delicious, especially if it's been awhile since you've had it. The service was actually friendly and efficient. I even left a nice tip for my sandwich maker. The only downside was that their app wasn't functioning properly, so I had to order in-store. I like their customer loyalty program, and plan on returning more frequently in the future. read more

I've been to the first firehouse in Jacksonville, Florida. I've loved it ever since then. Hands down the best place to get a sandwich anywhere. Great meat and good service make this my favorite lunch place. read more
