No one said welcome in or welcome back when we came in, but that's just training I suppose. We ordered a Hook and Ladder medium and a full size Italian with a special request of light oil and dressing. Both sandwiches were pretty good size and definitely filled our needs. The bagged chips are relatively low in sodium so that is a plus. The sandwiches were pretty tasty and were cut just as requested. The front doors and windows need washed throughout the day and the drink stations need my special firehose nozzle blue LED lighting to make them stand out! read more

Sadly, all chain sub joints now have prices that border on the absurd. We enjoy the Firehouse Italian so much, I decided to splurge and order 2 MEDIUM subs on my drive home. Never having a problem here before, I trusted them and drove home with my order only to discover I was given 2 SMALL subs! Really? They even did not give us the pickle spears they asked if I wanted. After 12 hours away from home and just wanting an easy and tasty dinner, I was not about to drive back. My receipt did have a survey link, so I will take the time to let them know this location is not performing as expected. I received about 1/2 of the food I paid for. Never, ever again! read more

Our favorite sub place. I only order the Jamaican Turkey with extra Jerk sauce. My wife is a Hook and Ladder fan. We discovered these two and enjoy it so much as faves we can't comment on any others. First mistake is that we ordered through Uber eats. So we ordered two subs and a soup when we got the subs and the soup. The soup was cold and the portion was halfway full of the container and we got charged five dollars for that there was no utensils or napkins, and I'm not sure if this is a norm for most restaurants now but if you're ordering out, you may not have access to utensils. It's just common sense to include that with an order. The other complaint is with Uber eats. The driver end up going the wrong way and we have it listed in our details on where to enter into our community. I even went a step further and sent him a text message before getting here that he had to use a certain entrance to come in because the back entrance is locked. The driver apparently didn't even bother looking at the instructions and when he arrived, he arrived at the wrong house when contacting Uber eats regarding my concern they don't take responsibility for their driver or the restaurant. We finally got someone after multiple attempts to give us a partial credit for the tip we gave the driver and the cost of the soup. Not happy with this experience at all and I do not recommend Uber eats. read more

I love this place. You are greeted as soon as you enter by their friendly staff. Robin was very helpful as we were having a problem with our free T Mobil offer. My usual is the hook and ladder, love the sweet taste of the ham. The bread is always fresh. Their sweet tea is one of the best in town, always fresh. This location is in a large plaza. It's still way better than the Dunedin location. They get busy at lunch but still pay attention to detail to create subs according to the order specifications. My 5 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with celiac disease. One of her biggest disappointments was realizing she couldn't have Firehouse anymore. I saw a post of someone ordering a gluten free roll from there. I just left this location and they were very accommodating with my request. Changed gloves, clean workspace and put foil down before putting her sandwich through the toaster. I even saw the employee use her elbow to open the steamer so she wouldn't contaminate her gloves. Thank you for training your employees to take celiac seriously so people with celiac can have more safe places to eat and enjoy food. read more

I absolutely love the food that firehouse has, I've had issues at a previous Firehouse because it would take 30 minutes to order my food and I would have no time to eat before returning to work. This location on the other hand is close to my parents house and is what they requested for dinner. I got a total of 4 sandwiches and 2 of them had the toppings switched with the meats which is unfortunate because my mother's sandwich was one that was affected and she cannot eat Mayonnaise. Always love a great Firehouse Sub!!! This was my first time to this Largo location I love it because it's in a shopping center next to Publix and a bath and body works lol! I always order the hook and ladder and my husband ordered the prime rib of course for the beef eater of the family! The hook and ladder is great because it's made with turkey and smoked ham and toasted it's so good and the prime rib was really amazing It was filled with meat for my husband now you do have to ask for the hot sauce in packets now they no longer offer hot sauce in bottles any more which is fine lol they gave us Texas Peres hot sauce it's funny since we moved from Texas! Also there is a Publix with a Starbucks there and a target which I'm pretty excited about! They also have a kids menu for the kiddos my son just wanted a cookie though.And who doesn't love the epic Coke freestyle machine!! read more

I had originally ordered the tuna sub but when the girl went to check the container holding the tuna, and I asked if it was fresh because it didn't look fresh, she said "yes I made it yesterday" which I'm sorry; but that isn't what fresh means. Instead I ordered a steak sub with no mayo, paid and began my wait. After 15 minutes of listening to the workers loudly complain about management and other coworkers which is super unprofessional and awkward at best, a grumpy employee called my name, barely smiled and walked away after setting down my food on the counter. The sandwich does not smell good, I tried it but it didn't taste good either (very dry, soggy bread and they forgot the deli mustard) so I wasted my time and my money. I drove all the away across town on a busy holiday weekend worried about the $100 bucks I left in my wallet. I got there and they had my wallet ready to go and never touched a thing. Excellent sandwiches! Quick service, normally a good pickle spear to go with it. All of them that I've been to make really good sandwiches, I normally get the Engineer (pastrami among other things) or the Hook &Ladder (turkey) I get the hot sandwiches, and sometimes try the special. I love Firehouse, but I have always had issues at this location. Today was no different. Twenty five minutes to get my food. Sandwich bread wasn't toasted. Tea containers were empty. When employees have down times they do not clean or check on drink machines, containers, etc. Tables were dirty. It is worth the drive to go to the Dunedin location where service is important, and I've always had a great meal and experience. 7/9/16 - Update- Happy to report that my experience today was the best ever. The review is for the restaurant not the food. The food is amazing and the quality is great. The restaurant is ok as far as cleanliness but it's COLD! OMG, it's soooo cold in here I'm shaking! It's always like this and if you are cold natured get take out! I am going to bring a thermometer next time but guessing 58ish in here. The soap dispenser in the restroom doesn't work unless you work for it, hope the employees have another place to wash hands......... Second time I've been here that the soap has been sketchy. Had the chicken with verde sauce, it was terrific. Again, eat here, bring a parka! Would be four stars if it were comfortable in here but trying to eat with teeth chattering sucks! read more

Sadly for the last 2 weeks... any time I've visited.. the wait for my sandwich has been over 20 minutes. The way they "steam" (or whatever) their sandwiches sets this chain apart IMO. I don't eat here frequently, but when I want a really dope sandwich, I choose Firehouse. The meat, cheese and bread are always fresh. It's not overloaded with veggies. The sauces are great. Far superior to the other fast casual chains, Subway, Quizno's, Jersey Mike's, Jimmy John's, etc. Not that these places are bad, but if I'm going for a sandwich, I'm going to Firehouse. Sandwiches were good, but half of our order was missing when Uber Eats delivered it. Missing 5 items - 2 sides and 3 deserts. Manager was useless and should be fired after blaming it on her employee who had been working there for his second day, and then wanting us to call the Uber delivery guy and see if he could come back and get the rest of the order(which he couldn't). $18 in delivery fees and tip which wasn't worth it for just the sandwiches. Usually have pretty decent service here but today was lacking. After 15 mins of placing my order the staff were having a debate over my order and who was suppose to make it, then blaming each other. It took 18 mins to get my sub which only left me 12 mins to eat ajd get back to work when there were only 6 people in front of me. Quality was on par with what I come to expect. Firehouse sub is a cross between Potbelly's and subway sandwiches in my book. You know they have a great idea going for themselves with a firehouse theme with naming their sandwiches like " engineer" that comes with mushrooms and swiss cheese, with hardly any actual mushrooms. I had the Italian and the kid's shared a large Firehouse meatball sub. The kids loved their meatball sub sandwich, I liked the Italian but I didn't love it takes too much like a wreck sandwich from Potbellies. My husband late his engineer but for someone who loves mushrooms he didn't get much of it. Would I return to firehouse for sub sandwiches I would but with reservations on trying something different possibly asking them to not heat up my sandwich. Possibly, but this is their MO so I might have to go with it. They aren't cheap but they aren't incredibly expensive for a fast food sub place. Just be aware it's a nicer franchise chain sub shop.
