National Meatball day is on Sunday, March 9, 2025 this year! Firehouse subs had a discount for their Meatball sub that was offered between Friday March 7 and Sunday, March 9. Firehouse Subs has one of the best meatball subs that I've ever had! This Firehouse Subs location is off of the 215/Charleston exit in a shopping plaza. There are plenty of parking spots. My husband and I took our sub order to go. I ended up ordering the meatball sub. It's made from ground beef and pork. It also has Parmesan and Romano cheese, bread crumbs that are toasted, and Italian Herbs. The sub is also topped with lots of Marinara sauce and tons of provolone cheese! The service was super quick. We didn't wait longer than 10 minutes for both of our subs. The sub stayed warm until we got back to our house. My meatball sub was delicious! It was quite filling too. I could only eat half of it! The melted provolone cheese with the marinara sauce and herbs was scrumptious! This is one of my favorite subs at Firehouse Subs. Firehouse Subs is a must visit if you haven't tried their subs out yet!

Salad, that's supposed to be fresh vegetables, not just wilted brown mushy lettuce. Tomatoes? Peppers? Cucumbers? Anything?

Vegetables look pathetic. Ordered two sandwiches and a salad. Lettuce was browning and wilted, tomatoes were mushy. Took it off sandwiches but the salad was inedible. Took away food to home so didn't know until I got home. One lady at counter, unfriendly, hardly said a word.

    The other half

We ordered through Uber eats. My husband's $25 large hero had very scarce roast beef, turkey and ham. The bread was soggy due to ridiculous amount of mayo. It was a complete waste of money as it was pretty much inedible.

My first time ordering a sub sandwich here. I'm super impressed! Once I got home and took a bite, I was in love. The bread was super soft and delicious. The honey ham, tomato, onion, mustard and mayo are so tasty. Service was excellent and very welcoming. I'll definitely return. I love a good sub! Located Fort Apache/Charleston next to Smiths Grocery.

This is a joke. Paid $19 for a bread and sauce sandwich. No cheese, hardly any meat, and the bread was dry and crusty. First and last time ordering from this location.

Dry sandwich with no extra Italian dressing only mayonnaise. I'm barely in mayonnaise because Nicholas told me it has soaked into the bread!

Service was just ok, but my pastrami sandwich barely had any pastrami in it. Won't be back.

Since this was my one and only chance (I think) to try this spot, me and a friend decided to split our sandwiches to try more than just one. We settled on L'INFERNO and the LA DISTRICT. The former has: porchetta, nduja, spicy eggplant, spicy zucchini, arugula -- while the latter has pancetta, pecorino cream, sun dried tomato, arugula. I had to hop on a plane for a few hours, so I wanted to pack the sandwiches for a later time -- but I had to try them FRESH. Oh boy. These sandwiches were an absolute EXPERIENCE -- the bread (which is schiacciata) was warm, pillowy, with the most amazing crust. The porchetta on the L'INFERNO was so tender and full of flavor paired with the nduja. The LA DISTRICT was a nice calm contrast, instead of strong flavors, all the elements worked as one -- and that pecorino cream was an absolute masterpiece. After I arrived, the line behind me quietly filled up quickly (it was the 10:35 AM)! As with most locations, come early if you don't want to wait. I did eat the rest of the sandwiches about 3 hrs. later but it got duller the longer it sat (as expected). It was still good though! I repeat: I was a bit skeptical because of the virality of this slot, but at lease at the UNCOMMONS, location, the hype is indeed real. Place was immaculate, service was as expected, and sandwiches were knocked out of the park!

It popped up when I put my card into the slot to check in, so I went seaching and found it way back in the corner, near the sports betting. I'm never in that part of the casino. There's a big backlit sign with the menu over the register. Front and center is a picture of a delectable Cuban sandwich, on a crunchy-looking baguette roll. There are only three pressed sandwiches on the menu, so why would I think that my turkey with avocado would come out on ordinary white bread? When pressed (pun intended), the kid at the register said that a) different sandwiches are made differently, and b) it wasn't white, but sourdough. Now I'm no great fan of sourdough, but there was no sour in that dough. Not that I cared, but I gave up white bread when I grew up and learned that there are other breads in the world, and I've never looked back. But the sandwich filling was decent and the price would have been right, except for one little glitch: I paid with points, and this being Wednesday, it should have cost me half points, but he deducted them all. I didn't get a receipt, and didn't realize the error until I was way back on the other side. Oh well. While the sandwich isn't expensive, it comes with nothing. If you want to add fries, that would put the price on par with some decent pubs. Would I go back? Probably. It's an alternative to the food court. Having just seen Mel C.'s photo of the salad, I just might. And if they could put my turkey on that baguette...
