We decided to give Firehouse Subs a try. For our first experience, I ordered two captain subs via their website, and when I arrived, it was only a quick wait before my order was ready. Service was prompt and friendly. The subs were flavorful, but the portions were tiny for the price. For that reason, I would think twice about giving them another try. However, I did appreciate the themed decor and firehouse feel inside the restaurant. It is a nice touch!

This a MEDIUM "no bread" Hook M Ladder....this is nowhere near worth $12.49
    Tosha L.

Over priced and not worth it. Firehouse has opted to be apart of T-Mobile Tuesdays, where you BOGO free Hook N Ladder medium sub. Now all though that may seem like a good deal, it isn't. You can not customize the subs, even the one you are paying for. They both are "as is". To me, that's unfair, because if i'm paying, I should be able to do what I want to that sub, and the free one, I can understand no customization to it, cause its free. The price difference from a small to a medium is absurd. I got no bread on one of them, and let me tell you, it was nothing but a small side salad. The other, I got garlic bread, which is nothing but garlic spread ($0.99), so if they don't use enough, you can't even taste the extra money you spent on it. I didn't taste shhhhhhh, on mines. I walked in and there was nothing on the online orders rack. The employee looked over at me, no greeting....and just said, "You here for an order?" I told her yes and gave her my name. She said she was still working on it, ok no problem. She gave me my order, I said "Thank You!", she didn't say anything back. Anyhow, my point is, these expensive a** subs aren't worth it.....TO ME!

    Italian Combo.

Food was ok but pricey for the portion , service was fast a d friendly, ambiance was simple yet fun.

Firehouse Captain's Club. Exactly the way it was given to me. I hadn't even touched it. Shitty presentation.

This review has nothing to do with the customer service provided. In fact, I was treated very nicely and the guy who took my order was great. My problem with this place are the prices for what are (in my opinion) very average sandwiches. Honestly, it felt like I was eating at subway but charged like I was at an Italian deli. Anyway, this sandwich is supposed to be the medium "New Captain's Club". As you can see, it looks nothing like the way it is advertised.

Another franchise that has raised their prices and cut quality and portion out. All good, just another place I will cut from my list.

The customer service at this place is really what sells it! I stopped by for a turkey sub on wheat and it was made perfectly even with modifications. We had ordered for takeout but decided to eat in. The staff here is so friendly, it's always clean inside, and definitely a sub spot worth checking out!

This place is always busy, both inside and with takeout orders, so I definitely recommend ordering ahead if you're in a hurry. That said, they are consummate professionals at what they do, and even if you walk in, the wait is never painful. My advice: check out the menu while you're in line and be ready to order when you get to the register. They're busy, and nobody wants to be the indecisive person holding up the line! Their daily specials are incredible, but be aware that if you want a special from a different day, it's not happening. Also, get there early if you want the special, because they can and do sell out -- which honestly just proves how good they are. Everything here is done right. The menu items are thoughtfully put together, balanced, and full of flavor. Portions are generous without being ridiculous, prices are very fair, and honestly, I think they may even be low compared to the value you get. The staff is always helpful, and the girl at the counter has been there as long as I've been going -- I believe she's family -- which says a lot about the heart behind this place. Don't skip the market, either. They carry some of the best Italian ingredients, and it adds even more to the experience. Saverino's is by far the best sandwich spot in Redlands, and I'd go out on a limb and put them in the top five on the West Coast. Family-run, local, consistent, and absolutely top notch. This place is a winner and deserves a try. Just one warning: THEY ARE ADDICTIVE!

Lovely fresh flowers on the outside of the building, crisp and clean interior, plenty of seating in indoors and outdoors. We chose the covered outdoor section, because of the weather was lovely today. My iced lavender latte was phenomenal, perfectly sweetened. My friend had the iced dirty chai, which she loved, as well. The menu was so vast that we had difficulty choosing what we wanted to eat. I've already determined that I will go back with my husband to try more items! But for today, I ordered the mushroom Swiss Panini, and she ordered the Caprese on a ciabatta bun. We chose these sandwiches already knowing that we would swap a half to be able to try both! We were not disappointed. The bread on the mushroom Swiss was buttery toasted goodness, and cheese to mushroom ratio was just right. The Caprese was warm and savory, and the balsamic onion jam was absolutely delicious. Very pleased with our visit overall!

Meat was juicy, sauce is plentiful, and it all conglomerates into a messy sandwich of deliciousness. Sausages are the other star here. The Spicy Hungarian sausage with mustard was absolutely a banger as well. It's a nice light kick and savory flavor with each bite. We finished off with a Cherry strudel which was not too sweet but still had the nice sugary finish of a dessert. I feel like I'm rambling but long story short, great food, great beer, great time. The Reuben and potato salad combo was especially hearty and satisfying, with rich, savory flavors that felt very true to a classic deli experience. The Hungarian sausage had a great depth of flavor, savory and well-seasoned without tipping into being overly salty. The cherry strudel was a standout to end the meal, filled generously with cherries and syrup, wrapped in a flaky pastry that balanced sweetness and texture really well. The beer tied everything together nicely, cold and refreshing, and exactly what you'd want with this kind of meal. I still prefer Busy Bees in San Pedro, but this was a nice alternative within the IE area. Price: George's Market falls into a casual, reasonable deli pricing tier. Sandwiches like the Reuben and similar deli items are generally in the mid‑teens range, while sausage plates and hot meals can push closer to around $15-20 depending on what you get. Beer and imported items vary, but overall you can expect to spend about $15-25 per person for a solid, filling meal. Given the quality, portion sizes, and specialty nature of the food, the pricing feels fair. Ambiance: The space is part cozy German market, part deli counter, with a warm, wood-heavy interior that feels inviting and a bit nostalgic. There's both indoor seating and an outdoor area, giving flexibility depending on the weather or how busy it is. Beyond the dining area, the market itself sells a wide range of German groceries and specialty products, which adds to the charm and makes it feel like more of an experience than just a quick meal. Service: Service was good and impressively efficient given how busy it gets. There was a noticeable line when we went (especially on a weekend lunch time), but things moved steadily and the staff kept everything organized without feeling rushed or chaotic. Friendly and straightforward overall. Parking: Parking is one of the easier parts of the visit. It's located in a plaza with a large shared lot, so there's plenty of space and no real hassle finding a spot, even during peak hours.

I ordered the Jägerschnitzel, served with rich mushroom gravy, traditional German potato salad, and sweet red cabbage. Every bite was delicious, and it paired perfectly with a cold Paulaner beer. What impressed me most wasn't just the food--it was the story. Our waitress told us that when one of their employees was 17 years old, the original owner personally taught him how to make their famous sausages. Today, at 81 years old, he's still there making sausage five days a week. That's over six decades of preserving the same recipes and traditions. When I asked what his favorite sausage was, she smiled and said, the veal sausage. That alone guarantees what I'm ordering next visit.
