There are no Raising Cane's locations where I live but I've heard good things, so I decided to stop by during a road trip through Nevada. I got a box combo that came with 4 chicken fingers, crinkle cut fries, Texas toast, and coleslaw. The chicken was crisp and moist, had a good amount of breading, and didn't feel too oily. The fries were nothing special and were a little more limp than I like. The Texas toast was a good compliment to the chicken and had a soft, buttery, and indulgent flavor with a slight crunch on the outside. I'd come again if I was in the area! Worst experience I've ever had coming to a Raising Cane's chicken. I didn't have the heart to rate it one star because of all the hard working people who have gone out of their way to make this place what it is and what it stands for. More often than not, I've come here in a regular "meh" of a mood and have left feeling better then when I arrived because the kids here kick some serious posterior in the customer service department as a whole. I arrived at 11:25pm saw the open sign illuminated walk up to the establishment and saw people inside and orders being handed out. Tried the door... and it was locked. Perplexed I checked the time it was 11:28 and everyone inside was avoiding making eye contact. I saw the person at the register look up at me twice and I tried to ask if the place was closed and got not answer, just continued to ignore me. Now I was fresh out of the shower, shaved, so I understand I look a little younger without any of my gray whiskers showing. But I've taught college classes. Maybe you thought I was just a regular dumb student with bad grammar. But my point is when you pull shady stuff like this, once in a while you'll run into a person like me who won't find it pleasant or nice. Not to mention dishonest to your employer and rude. I've hardly been exposed to Raising Cane's employees who absolutely hate making money for their boss. I don't think these kids should be fired. But definitely need to break up this B-team group of lackies. This crew needs to move to an earlier shift. They aren't cut out to close. I mean if you did fire them it's not like you'd be doing anything except getting rid of dead weight. But there is a slight chance you could retrain or possibly undo the laziness which has spread like a cancer in this crew. I mean a slight chance, like 'winning a jackpot in the casino' slight. Meh. I had high hopes and cravings for Raising Cane's. I was originally excited there was one close to downtown Reno by the university. First, it was tough to find parking but that's fine. I can use the exercise. The employees were friendly and the combo came out faster than other Cane's I have been to. That could have been the first clue. Not enough breading and the strips looked like I ordered a kids size. Size does matter and I was yearning for other Cane's I have been to where the strips were more crunchy and bigger. When I called to address the mistake, Sabrina was the one to take the call and she went above and beyond my expectations and refunded the entire order. Ordered at drive thru. Attempted to use a Canes gift card to pay. I was advised there was nothing on the card and there should've been $50. I asked the girl if she would try it again and she got very rude but she did try it again and promptly advised me I needed another form of payment. Went here last night at like 1: 20 in the morning and their customer service was impeccable the people were really nice and the food was amazing the chicken was nice and crunchy fries are really good and very salty if you like salty fries you'll love these. There tends to be a long line for the drive thru, so if you have the ability, I'd recommend ordering in person. It is much quicker. We got our food almost instantly. Their chicken is nice and crunchy and juicy. The cane sauce is one of my favorites. Their fries are a bit soggy, but you don't come here for the fries. I love the buttered toast. Love the food, I use to go here all the time and the sauce was amazing. Had some bad experiences before, like how the people working there gave me my food and it was ice cold like it was just sitting there for hours and the employees just decided "Hey lets not waste food, we'll give it to the next schmuck who orders to-go and hope they don't notice!" I stopped going recently because the Caniac Combo price nearly doubled to what it use to be. It use to be around 10 bucks which was amazing and I would go at least once a week. They had lines around the block, but now it's nearly double that and at most the line just 2-3 cars during busy times. Why would I get a 1 person meal for almost 20 dollars when I can go to Dominoes and get a 10 dollar large pizza that can serve 2-3 people? Haven't checked KFC's prices lately but I bet you they're cheaper. I'll probably stop by here 3 or 4 times a year until they make their food affordable again for the average joe. read more

Since I was in Reno, I decided to give this place a try. It was a little confusing finding their parking lot. Google map took us to the front of the restaurant but the parking is behind the street in the back building. The parking can be limited if coming in the daytime. It it shared with other restaurants. Came here late Saturday night around 10:30. Got there and there was no customer in line. Once walked in, I was greeted by the staff member. Ordered caniac combo, sandwich combo and 2 extra cane's sauce since I was told they are known for their special sauce. They were pretty fast. Got my order within few minutes. Caniac combo: comes with 6 chicken strips, side fries, coleslaw, toast, 2 cane's sauce and large drink. The chicken was really tender. Not a crispy but still good. The toast was thick. I think it needs a little more garlic and butter. Tasted a tad bland. Cane's sauce was good but not up to the hype. Sandwich combo: comes with sandwich, side of fries and regular drink. The sandwich itself was pretty good. This place was definitely worth a try. Good food, good customer service. It may not be worth the 2 hours drive just to eat at this place but I will definitely come back when I'm in the area. read more

I recently found out about raising Cane's. I heard about them a few years ago, but completely forgot they existed since I'm from Sacramento and we don't have any in NorCal. So after I saw a video of YouTubers trying it, I looked up raising Cane's. The closest one was in Reno. So I planned a day to drive from Sacramento to go to Reno, mainly to try it. I also wanted to hang out in Reno for a change of scenery from the monotonous days over been having working from home. At this location, they had outside dining so that's what my group opted for. We ordered two chicken sandwiches and the 3 finger combo. The tenders by themselves are kind of plain. It's crispy and juicy, but didn't seem to have a lot of seasonings. When you dip it in the caniac sauce, it makes the chicken taste it off this world. I could eat this sauce with almost anything. Overall, the workers at this location were excellent and accommodating. I liked the decor of the place and they got our orders to us quickly. It was worth the 2 hour drive for me to come here to try it. read more

Stopped in to try a 'box' meal. It's our first visit here. It was 5:30 pm and the drive-thru was packed. We decided to park and an employee came to vehicle and offered help. We got four of the box chicken dinners that included four chicken fingers, four crinkle cut fries, four lemonades, four coleslaw, and four pieces of Texas toast. I actually really liked this a lot. The chicken dipping sauce was something near to a Poboy sauce that I put on fried oyster sandwiches I make it home. Not too spicy and quite tasty. Dined here this afternoon with my 2 kiddos for lunch. We took a nice walk at UNR and somehow ended up at Canes! My son plays football at UNR during tackle off season and this is our favorite place to pick up hot chicken during the cold months freezing our butts off at the stadium. Through the most confusing process possible I ended up ordering the 6 finger combo and subbing out the coleslaw for more fries. My food was ready pretty quickly, I attempted to get extra sauce and didn't feel like using my cc again for .35 of sauce. The chicken was better than it normally is today and good.
