Stopped at the Firehouse Subs in MSP Airport during a layover because, hey, who doesn't want a hot sandwich before their next flight? Unfortunately, this Firehouse felt more like a fire drill -- lots of motion, not much coordination. The staff looked like and acted like they didn't want to be there and then someone had just yelled "everybody make sandwiches!" and then left the room. Service was slower than boarding Group 9, and by the time my sub arrived, I was halfway through my emotional support chips. As for the sandwich -- let's just say it didn't quite live up to the usual Firehouse standard. More like Smoke Detector Subs -- something was missing, and it definitely wasn't flavor from being too fresh. Two stars because I did eventually get food, and it was edible. But next time I might just grab a granola bar and call it a win. If you're hungry and have time to burn, give it a shot. If you're in a hurry... you might want to bring your own siren. read more

Holy hell, what a nightmare. I should've realized because of the crowd waiting for their food before we ordered which was via a kiosk screen so dirty the thing barely registered a touch. It took so long to navigate a huge line had formed behind me to order. And there's only one screen. There was one lady making sandwiches, one lady expediting, and a dude in the way back kitchen, not sure what he was doing. The main problem was that the expeditor could barely speak and she was calling out order numbers. Well, when you order the kiosk asks for your NAME. So everyone was there typing in their names and choosing no receipt so half the people had no idea of their order number. And then it just took forevvvvver. I think it took about 35 minutes to get our sandwiches, and then she just handed me the sandwiches and tried to walk away without giving me our fountain drinks. And the add-ons were hit and miss. They got the olives on the sandwich but missed the extra pickle which was just as well because the standard pickle that comes with a firehouse sub was garbage. Compared to all other firehouse sub shops I've been to (and we are fans) this was the absolute worst. Super grateful we had a lot of time to kill. If we'd been in a rush for a flight I would've lost my mind. read more

Misleading... on two parts. 1)Also, they charge a mandatory (non-tip) service charge but don't tell you. Why not just include that into the cost? 2) The menu is misleading. They actually use the smaller bottles of juice than the small bottles. Until now I didn't even know... to be fair, it does appear all the other vendors have similarly small versions and drinks are more expensive here than other airports. Also made my order after another couple. It should be first-in-first-out at the airport. I wouldn't mind the delay normally but at an airport, time -can- be precious. read more

The service was horrible. The lady behind the counter who was responsible for shouting out the orders unfortunately had a crooked jaw and missing teeth. She couldn't project orders loudly and clearly enough into the crowd so that people would know their order was ready for pick-up. Give the woman a microphone! To add insult to injury the line was long and the three workers weren't showing any hustle whatsoever. To top it off the food was just OK, definitely not worth the wait. Food is greasy and not as good compared to regular restaurant. Service is okay and fast enough when you're in the airport. Too many people in the counter but no one helps you right away, they have to call the manager to print my receipt. Which he is nowhere to be found. They conjured up a nice plump sandy for the wife and I. I've been to a few Firehouse locations and this one is definitely up to par.

We had never had firehouse subs before but there wasn't a lot open to eat at that early in the morning at msp airport so we decided to try it. I am a vegetarian so I got the veggie sub with some modifications, my mom got the hook and ladder and we both ended up absolutely loving our sandwiches. The bread tasted so fresh and they always come with a pickle. We got our sandwiches hot as they traditionally come but you can order any or them cold. I thought the staff was great and when the line got long a manager stepped in to take orders which you don't always see. Overall, I would get a sandwich again from firehouse and this location again when I'm traveling. read more

I was extremely hungry and thought I would stop at Firehouse Subs for a filling meal. Don't let their photos of large subs overflowing with meat fool you like they did me. After receiving my order, I opened the box and for $13, I found the tiniest little sub I've ever seen. I would have to order 3 of them for a normal sized meal. Plus, I was extra hungry so who knows how many of these baby sandwiches it would have taken to fill me up. Brand new food court location in MSP terminal 1. The quality of the food was good, but the service was maddeningly slow. I had one customer in front of me, seven employees behind the counter, and it still took them ten minutes to make my two sandwiches. read more
